Images in Answers

Please tell me that in the new Captivate you allow more custom feedback that in the last. I run a Chemistry oriented site and need ot be able to describe organic molecules using images, use exponents and subscript for atomic notations not only in the question, but also to help explain the correct answer. I am using Wondershare which does those things, but it lacks many other features that I would prefer to use in Captivate. I am very much looking forward to the new release, but could only be a customer if I had more ability to give more detailed responses than a simple phrase.

So I downloaded the new latest and greatest Captivate 5 hoping beyond hope that this would be made better somehow. When I use the hide technique it doesn't show up till the transition to the next slide and then it is more of a flash for 1 second then it is gone. I also realized that I need to be able to use both images and text, and that it only gives you the option of "showing" one (and even that isn't working right). If someone wants to help me out a little, I am ready to throw in the towel of doing it on my own. Please take a look at my current quiz:
http://www.coursesaver.com/videos.php?do=display&quiz=1&videoid=23
I used Wondershare to make it, but don't like the size of the review box. My ideal solution would be the following path
Start
Are you a Dental or Medical Student?
          Dental
Would you like to submit your answers one at a time or all at once?
          Medical
Would you like to submit your answers one at a time or all at once?
We would then have separate questions for Dental and Medical (Most would be the same but would throw a couple new ones in for different groups)
That part isn't the biggest deal, but I would like to give them the option of seeing the answers as they go, or only at the end as a review.
If you can help me out, please contact me at: 480-593-4027 Please be familiar with my material and needs before you call by reading the thread and looking at my existing quizzes.
Willing to pay via paypal. I would much rather give someone here $100 than talk to Adobe support from India again... You can take control of my screen and show me what is going on.

  • Bridge CS6 displays some jpg and tiff images overexposed--answer

This forum somehow makes it difficult to follow up on my own post.  I wanted to thank the two people who provided thoughts--all good thoughts.  The person talking about the different versions of ACR got me thinking, and I noticed the little circular icon on the upper right corner of the affected images.  I right-mouse clicked those images and selected 'clear settings' and now those images show up as they should.  Thanks, folks.  But, Adobe forum, how come I had to create a new post just to say this?

You should see a reply button on the bottom of each post, if you are signed in.  Look in upper right corner it should say Welcome ______ .
If you are responding by e-mail rather than from the forum I can not say as I have never used that form.

  • MDT 2012- Can no longer deploy images: Unattend Answer file-for pass specialize....

    Hello again.
I've got a recently captured Win7 Pro x64 image (successfully captured) via MDT 2012. It has baked in: IE11 and Office 2013 /sp1 and a few misc small prg's, like CCleaner and MWB for example.
I created a new TS to deploy it and ONLY unchecked the "Apply local GPO".. and just before it completes, I'm greeted with the following error: (Hope I can link)- if not: It's the "WIndows could not parse... c win\panther\unattend..for pass
    [specialize] error....
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v211/Marginjoey/ParseError_zps2d9d2105.jpg
I know I caused this. When my original image wouldn't capture with IE 11, I was advised that IE 11 was likely the issue (and maybe still is?) So,  I  believe my issue still sits in this possibly ill-advised change I made ..
Edited the UNATTEND.XML.. under ‘Specialize’, ‘amd64..ie-InternetExplorer_neutral’, then went into ‘IE WELCOME MESSAGE’ and Right-clicked to uncheck ‘Write Image Value’, then altered TRUE to FALSE on the same line. Even though I’ve been back to the default
settings more than once (and right now, back to default) I continue to have this PARSE/Specialize error. All of my settings files are default at the moment. I was using the SKIPPBDD-WELCOME for a bit, but it didn't help, so I removed it.
So, even though I'm back to default in this SPECIALIZE step, is there something else I can do to get around this?  Time is of the essence like never before. (Frankly, I'm losing it.. I've been imaging/capturing/ and deploying numbering easily in the
    30's and 40's...

    More info:
What just happened:  I went into my DS$, and into my newest DEPLOY MARCH5 TS, and checked the UNATTEND.XML, did it take so long to open?   Did it just create a new one?  Is it based off the settings I chose in the TS? Is it a NEW default
    copy?
Please help Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.  ;)

  • Deploying Custom Image with Answer File

    Hi everyone!
I'm in the process of making a custom image for ~25 computers, using WAIK (no network so no MDT, WDS...). I followed Technet's "Step-by-Step: Basic Windows 7 Deployment for IT Professionals", and installed from original Win7 Ultimate Retail
Media, with an answer file. Finally I customized that install and now have a properly set-up install, in audit mode and waiting to be generalized.
I'd like to deploy this custom install with an answer file/configuration set, in order to auto-install some drivers and hardware-specific apps, answer typical questions, etc...
But I must admit, I'm a bit unclear as to how to proceed from there. So I'm going to state how I understand it, and would love you to correct me where I'm wrong!
On reference computer, run syprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown
Boot to WinPE, capture image with ImageX
Open the resulting custom.wim in WSIM, generate a catalog file
Make Answer File + Configuration Set, copy them to the root of an empty UFD
Replace the Original Win7 Media's install.wim with my custom.wim, make bootable UFD
Deploy to other computers with the 2 UFD's
Does that sound right to you? Am I missing something? Also, should I be running sysprep with a /unattend:xxx.xml switch (not sure how that works)?
    Bonus Question:
I'd like to use the Answer File + Configuration Set to perform some silent installs via script. Could you point me to a relevant Technet (or 3rd party) resource for that?
Thank you very much for reading ^^

If you are doing the "replace install.wim" option, then you are installing using Setup. In this scenario, Setup will ignore the answer file specified in the image with the /unattend switch with Sysprep. So it would be unnecessary to prepare the
    image with that switch.
Awesome! Thanks very much for clarifying the use of the /unattend switch with sysprep =)
Anyways, I'd rather use an autounattend.xml in another UFD, which I can replace for any different hardware type, partition layout, etc...
Also, the "replace install.wim" method is the only one I know. Are there others I should be aware of?
    Thanks!
    Hi,
yes, the basic process is like what you said.
Here is a guide which contains the video and text to tech you how to do the deployment.

I'll definitely give it a read once I get a proper domain up and running at the office.

  • When installing Server 2008 Datacenter from disc, I get the error message "Windows could not parse or process the unattent answer file for pass [specialize].

This is a clean install from s disc onto a 3TB GPT drive. This is for testing. I'm not concerned with finding a more practical solution for this installation.
There is no image or answer file involved. But at the "Completing Installation" phase, I receive this error message about an answer file.
Has anyone else expecrienced this problem? The only results I find here are regarding actual imaging with answer files.
    EDIT: [Redacted]
EDIT 2: Since this now happens with every single installation of Server 2008 on this system, I feel the need to keep this open and elaborate on my situation.
I originally installed Server 2008 on the 2TB partition of this 3TB drive. The partition type was MBR. I reinstalled it (there was a false alarm for malicious software) since it was a fresh install without updates or anything else installed. And for the
    second time, it installed fine.
I decided to make the most of my 3TB drive and try GPT partitioning. So I went into the command prompt > diskpart > ran "clean" on the disk, then "convert GPT"
That is when I tried another install of Server 2008 and received this error message about an answer file.
I decided to convert it back to MBR and get on with what I wanted to test in the first place. So I went into Diskpart again, ran "clean", rand "convert MBR" and started the install. But this resulted in the same error message about an
    answer file.
I went back to Diskpart, "clean"ed the disk, ran "convert dynamic" to make sure it was dynamic, then tried the install again, with the same result.
Now, I've tried installing on the disk as GPT, MBR basic and MBR dynamic. I've tried a different installation disc, as well. I got the same result. At this point, I'm going to switch hard drives, but I'm still open to input. Thanks for reading!

    Hi,
As you swapped the hard disk, whether the same issue occurs again if you redo the same steps?
I asked "OEM or retail" because of this known issue:
"Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]" error message when you perform an in-place upgrade in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2425962
An answer file may already contain in the disc which causes the issue.
If issue still exists you can click Shift + F10 during the installation process to see the log. Check if the installation error for detailed information.

  • Firefox 4.0 is my default browser, and I am receiving a script error message when I try to view online images in Family Tree Maker 2011, a genealogy program. Have not had problems until Firefox 4.0. Can't seem to find a setting in Firefox to fix this.

Error is as follows: Line: 63 Char: 4344 Error: Unable to get value of the property 'offsetHeight': object is null or undefined Code: 0 URL: http://yui.yahooapis.com/combo?2.8.0/build/yuiloader-dom- event/yuiloader-dom-event.js&2.8.0/build/dragdrop/dragdrop- min.js&2.8.0/build/stylesheet/stylesheet- Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? Y/N buttons."

I see. Well, I just tried to make IE my default browser, but it did not solve the problem. I receive the same script error when I view the image. (I may not have explained this thoroughly enough at first - I do get to view the image after answering the error message, but the print button embedded in the window doesn't work. Before, I never had a problem with viewing or printing.)
I imagine that at this point I will either need to communicate this to the IE people, or possibly revert to an older version of IE.

  • How do I create a new image composed of a number of smaller images?

    Hi,
    I'm attempting to work with the assorted image APIs for the first time and am experiencing one main problem with what I'm trying to do. Here's the scenario;
I have an image file (currently a JPEG) which is 320*200 pixels in size, it contains a set of 20*20 images. I want to take such a file and convert it into a new JPG file containing all those 20*20 images but in a different grid, for example a single column.
I'm currently having no problem in working my way through the input file and have created an ArrayList containing one BufferedImage for each 20*20 image. My problem is that I just can't see how to create a new file containing all those images in new grid.
Any help would be much appreciated and FWIW I've included the code I've written so far.

  • Why are there 2-sets of IMAGE UNITS in Motion 5?

I seem to have 2-sets of Image Units in my Motion 5 library:
The first set has an icon exactly like the Filters icon; the second set has an icon exactly like the Generators icon.
I have read elsewhere online that it appears not everyone has the first set of Image Units, that perhaps it has something to do with running OS 10.7 Lion, but this has not been confirmed.  I am currently running Lion, and I do have these Image Units, but they do not seem to do anything when I put them in the Timeline.
Some examples of these Image Units are: 1) Glass Distortion, 2) Glass Lozenge, 3) Copy Machine (transition)... there are 123 of these in the Image Units folder, and it looks like they might do some really cool things if I could get them to work.  If I cannot get them to work then I'd like to remove them from the Motion library, if only I could figure out how to do that as well.
If I right-click on the Motion application icon and choose "Show Package Contents" these Image Units do not appear anywhere, and a Spotlight search for "Image Units" does not reveal anything significant either.
Please help me figure out 1) What is this second set of Image Units?
                                          2) If not everyone has them, how did I get mine?
                                          3) How do I get them to work?
                                          4) If they do not work, how do I remove them?
    Thanks so much!

    1) the 2nd set of Image Units are actually Generators, which means, when applied to the canvas, you will get a Generator Pane in the inspector. You cannot add a generator Image Unit to another object and affect it's appearance as you can with a Filter Image Unit.
You can Apply Filter Image Units to Generator Image Units... LOL but not vice versa.
***STAY AWAY FROM RANDOM GENERATOR*** it does NOT belong to Motion -- it belongs to Core Image and is accessible in Quartz Composer (there are others too, in the filter image units... they will appear to do "nothing" [all of the Area XXXX filters are such])  Clicking on Random Generator has been known (and does for me as well) to crash Motion.  If you want or need a random number, use the Numbers generator and click the Random checkbox. For everything else, use the wriggle behavior.
    2) Everybody is supposed to have them. If they don't, something screwed up in the installation.
    3) Filter Image Units will have parameters under the Filter Tab of the selected object under the heading of the Filter Name or the name you give it in the Layers palette. [Generator Image Units answered in #1]
    4) You can't, and you don't want to: they belong to the System (Core Image); but for the ones that do nothing or can crash Motion, you will just have to learn to avoid them.

  • WDS Client Naming Policy with image unattend mode problem

I have created a standard Windows 7 Pro 64-bit PC for my company with all our applications installed and configured.  I used SYSPREP to generalize it and then used PXEBoot to capture this image to our WDS Server (which is the PDC).  I used WAIK
to create the two required answer files, one for the WDS server and the PXE boot stage of deployment and another linked to the image that sets the region/keyboard/time zone and other simple settings.
To test I've setup up Oracle VirtualBox and PXE booted it.  The PXE part works fine and the correct image begins to deploy.  However when using the image's answer file I get a random computer name generated and it fails to join the domain, when I
don't use the image answer file I have to sit at the PC and set the region/keyboard/timezone etc settings from prompts on the screen but the virtual PC does join the domain and does pick up the correct name!
The AD DS properties tab shows this as 'Client Naming Policy' FBCLIENT%02# which is correct and results in PCs called FBCLIENT01 FBCLIENT02 etc when NOT using the image answer file.
How can I modify my image answer file so that the PC is joined to the domain and picks up the correct generated name in sequence?
    Here's my image answer file...

    Guys i have similar problem
but i wont the name of the machines to be chosen from the "CLIENT NAMING POLICY" in WDS
    I have tried the below:
    i know that  <ComputerName>*</ComputerName>
    gives random names
and <ComputerName>%MACHINENAME%</ComputerName> gives the names of the machine already
    prestaged in AD.
and if i dont put computername Tag at all in the XML file, it will prompt me to enter the computer name,
and after the deployment the computer is loosing trust relationship with the DC

  • Automated removal of Office 2010 Single Image

I need to remove 32bit version of Office 2010 Home and Business from 400+ Windows 7 (x64). I have tried running MsiExec.exe /X{90140000-003D-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}, but as others pointed out it does not work for installs from Single Image
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-office_install/need-to-uninstall-ms-office-single-image-2010-32/69962e2c-ba90-49d5-934f-3c6d50b51e8c
Running MicrosoftFixit50450.msi works, however it would take a lot of time to remove the software using the manual method.
Does anyone have more practical solution for this issue?

an a couple of sample machines, use regedit to check the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
This is the registry location where Windows records software installations, and this information is used for display of data in Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features->Uninstall or change a program)
Browse through the various registry keys/values until you find the entry which relates to the software you want to uninstall.
Examine the registry value named "UninstallString" - this should be the command required for your goal.
Note that there may be multiple entries, depending upon the nature of the software, so check all the registry keys under the "Uninstall" key.
Perform a test uninstallation on a sample or test machine.
You could then write a script to perform the uninstallation. Many scripting methods provide remote-execution possibilities, or you may be able to use AD Group Policy startup-scripts or AD logon-scripts.

  • Question slide- Launch a full screen image in new window.

    Hi,
    I am using Captivate 4.
In the question slide (MCQ/ Matching) I want to have a transparent button over a thumbnail image.
On clicking this button, it lanches a full screen image in a new window.
The student views the image and answers MCQ,  Matching (droplist)  on the main screen/slide of captivate.
This new window can then be closed by clicking 'X' on top right corner of the window.
    How to do this?
    Thanks and regards
    Rajan

    Hi there
Instead of a Transparent Button you should think instead about Click Boxes. But either way, Captivate doesn't allow Buttons or Click Boxes to be inserted on Question Slides.
However, Captivate does allow you to insert Flash objects on Question slides. So you could develop a Flash object that would carry out the desired actions when clicked. Then insert the object on the Question slide.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Questions related to Disk Images - Image Format Options

Can anyone tell me a more about using Disc Images? I am with a group of new Mac Users and we're focusing on Disc Images at the moment. Want to create a Keynote Presentation for the group when finished.
I have found already a few answers here, if someone could help me on the rest?
In this Thread I focus on the Image Format.
Disc Utility (using OS 10.5.7) offers the following options when creating a Disc Image:
    sparse Disk Image
    sparse bundle Disk Image
    Unanswered Question:
    1) What is the difference between sparse Disk Image and sparse bundle Disk Image?
Answered Question (if you have ad-on Informations for the answered Questions feel free to jump in):
Question: What is sparse disk Image for?
Answer: "Choose an image format. You can use "sparse disk image" for a disk image that only uses as much space as it needs, rather than a set amount of space. If you're not sure, use "read/write disk image" choice." (Source: How to create a password-protected (encrypted) disk image in Mac OS X 10.3 or later: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1578)
    Thanks in advance
    Rama

Thank you both for your Infos so far. In the meantime I've created some Disk Images. What I noticed is, when I choose a small Image Size like 10 MB, then it changes from "Single Partition Map" to "No Partition Map". When I go bigger to 500 MB it changes to "Hard Disk".
It was already helpful to read the Manual to understand the Single Partition Maps, but what I still don't understand is the difference between using "no partitions map" at all and the other options such as "Hard Disk", "CD/DVD" or "CD/DVD with ISO Data".

  • Safari and enlarging images

I can change the size of text by pressing  +/-, but images remain the same.
How do I change the size of images?
    answers greatly appreciated
    thnx

Hmmm...you know I double checked and it looks like only images that are in flash you can do it. So that means it's the feature in flash. You're right! Just regular jpeg's or whatever it's not there...Sorry!
