Images in Firefox Nightly doesn't finish loading.

I have no idea why this is happening to me or how I can make it stop but... I have a really annoying problem with Firefox Nightly. Whenever there is an image, any kind of image, on a page it won’t finish loading approximately 99% of the time. It goes down maybe 20 inches and then all I see is the colour black, as if the loading sequence was interrupted or something.
I’ve tried clearing the history, cache, reinstalling Firefox Nightly and CCleaner to no use. My two or three addons that I use should not conflict with anything since I’ve been using them for a good while now.
Please help me!

If it works in Safe mode or with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
*all extensions are disabled
*the default theme is used (no persona)
*userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored
*the default toolbar layout is used (localstore-safe.rdf)
*the Javascript JIT compiler is disabled
*hardware acceleration is disabled
*plugins are not affected
*preferences are not affected

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Firefox nightly doesn't use any file associations on downloaded files

I am using Firefox 8.0a with Gnome 3 and Shell. Chromium will open any downloaded files with the correct applications, but Firefox always asks me to locate an application to open a file with. Rather than searching through for all the correct binaries to open files with and setting them that way, is there a way to tell Firefox to always use the correct programs that have already been associated in Nautilus?
According to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fi … n_problems then I need to install the libgnome package, but it is already installed.
edit: I also tried the second command on that page -
    ln -s ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list ~/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache
    but got this output:
ln: failed to create symbolic link `/home/theo/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache': File exists

Hi all, I've faced this problem too after installing firefox-nightly from the aur.
I believe that problem root is that linux binaries from mozilla are built with most generic flags, so are not integrated well with Archlinux.
I've just posted new PKGBUILD for firefox nightly that builds firefox from latest 'tip' tag from mozilla-central, linking it with system libs (except nspr and cairo, that fail build because of some bugs).
Build process takes some time (about an hour on Core i7), but you get nightly built with almost the same flags as firefox from [communiti] as a result.
    gstreamer (H.264) support also included.

  • Firefox doesn't finish loading

Yesterday my Firefox browser crashed. When i tried to reopen it, it only comes up as a window with a title bar (no words) and a black window for the body.
    I have tried:
    A) restarting my computer
    B) reinstalling firefox
    C) uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it
Nothing has made any difference at all.
What can I do? I rely on this browser with fire bug to develop. I am using other browsers, but I REALLY miss Firefox.

    Oh you are wonderful!
First, let me say that I was beginning to lean towards a display issue already, since I discovered the keyboard shortcuts (ctrl-s, ctrl-o, ctrl-p) were all still working. But your answer really saved me a LOT of time and frustration.
I did still have to figure out what graphics card my laptop uses. windows key + r and dxdiag helped with that. My device manager said my graphics card was "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family" and nothing more specific, so I wasn't sure which 64-bit driver that you listed above would work for me. So, I googled the make and model of my laptop and found a review with specs that listed it (The model name I got from dxdiag). Then I bravely installed the correct driver.
Thank you so much! Your solution worked like a charm!

  • Itunes doesn't finish loading

I am using the latest iTunes (10.5.1) on a ThinkPad X220 Windows7-64bit. It has been running fine for ages, working with an iPhone 4S and iPad 2 now. Today, it will not complete loading. The program starts, uses around 47MB of memory, and then freezes. It's not consuming processing power. Sometimes it will display the iTunes window, but most often the windows outline is drawn but never filled in. The only perhaps unusual aspect of my setup is that my iTunes library is located on an SD card. However, the card is fine and perfectly visible.

    Hi all,
I tried a few things suggested here, but they didn't solve the crashing issue, so I gave up and upgraded to Snow Leopard.
Sometimes things just go south I guess.

  • ITunes Music Store Crashes - Doesn't finish loading - Help?

    Hi all,
For some reason my iTunes Music Store hasn't been able to load up on my Mac Mini with Leopard. It's been months since I tried to access it because I moved (I got a new ISP), and I am just getting this computer working after months of being down. I just re[placed the PRAM battery in ordewr to get the CD Drive working. After crashing a few times and checking the boards, I have tried a few things. I upgraded iTunes & all my Apple Apps with Software Update. No Joy. I downloaded Safari and reinstalled. No luck. I downloaded iTunes and reinstalled. I ran Disk Utility to repair permissions. No luck. The Store gets about 60% of the way and then quits with the message: iTunes has unexpectedly quit.
    Details:
    Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: KERNINVALIDADDRESS at 0x00000000b1ffbd84

Don't know what else to do at this point.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. So long for now, Tom

  • When I open the browser I get a timed out message and it doesn't finish loading.

When I click to open the browser It takes a long time then I get a timed out message. I was using 12 then down loaded Aurora and the problem is still there. It started out getting slower a couple weeks ago and then just quit working and now it won't work at all.

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:

  • Snow Leopard (10.6.8) Web Browser, App Store, iTunes Store image won't finish loading.

    Hello,
I've recently upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard by clean installing. Once I upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6.3) everything seemed to work perfectly except for the new keyboard that I purchased (requires upgrade to 10.6.8). So as I upgraded to 10.6.8 by "Software Update…".
Once the update was completed and the machine restarted I've noticed when I opened opened couple of common sites in Safari (such as: Flickr, YouTube, and Amazon) and some of the images won't finish loading with a "?" in the middle where the image would be and browser assumes that the site was done loading. First I thought this was a refresh problem so I hit refresh on the browser but nothing really happened. I thought this was strange so I decided to download Google Chrome and Firefox to try it out as well. Same situation as well… Then I opened  the App Store and iTunes Store and the same things happened there as well. I'm assuming that all these images exists online so anything that access the web to load images will just crap out. One odd thing is that this problem don't seem to happen on any of the sites on Apple when I view it in the web browsers.
I couldn't figure out the reason so I decided to reinstall Snow Leopard (10.6.3) again by cleaning out the hard drives as before. Once it finished installing I opened up iTunes Store and Safari and the images loads fine. So went ahead (crossing my fingers) to "Software Updates…" to 10.6.8 and the the problem happened again.
I naively went ahead and tried to clean installing it again, thinking "Third time is the charm!" But same situation once I upgrade to 10.6.8. After the third time I let the browser sit there after it didn't load those images. I waited about five minutes and hit refresh and the images loaded. This happened the same with App Store and iTunes Store images as well. This is very odd because my interment connection hasn't been a changed before I upgraded to 10.6.8. Seems like browsers just cuts off the loading time of the whatever that's lagging instead on that site.
Is there a solution in the preferences for this or is this some kind of a bug that I'm having with my OS disc or network card? I don't think this has nothing to do with my modem or my interment service because it was working fine before I upgraded to 10.6.8.

I get that same problem too-you could try checking your network settings, release and renew your IP address, see if that helps. There is a tweaking menu you can get in Firefox that can help somewhat (google Firefox tweaks) but you'd have to raise the hood in FF and tinker a bit, but it does help. How much RAM do you have on your Mac Pro?, also update your Java and shockwave
sorry I can't be of more help

  • FIrefox 17.0 Ubuntu not loading some images

    I'm using Xubuntu 12.04 LTS amd64
I've used FF for years and never had this problem.
I try to load a page - it loads almost 100% but then a few images here and there don't load at all. I can right-click and select the options "show image" or "load image" but none of them work. Reloading the page brings the exact same problems - the same images that didn't load at the first attempt won't load when I reload the page.
Google Chrome and Opera (both for Linux, obviously) load the pages correctly, without any problems with the images. If I copy a URL that has problems with the images from Firefox onto Chrome or Opera, it works fine on the other browsers. Therefore, there is no problem with the URL itself.
Another very annoying problem is the Shockwave plugin: if I need to use a mic, a webcam or any device that uses shockwave, the Plugin prompts me to allow or deny the access to the device. But it's "unclickable" and the plugin gets stuck.

    Hi,
You can try to set '''No proxy''' in '''Preferences''' > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Advanced%20panel?as=u Advanced] > '''Network''' > '''Settings'''.
    [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window Preferences]
If the problem persists you can reset Firefox and start afresh.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
You can try to make exceptions for a few needed sites, or adjust the universal settings in the '''Flash Player''' applet's '''Camera and Mic''' tab, which would be usually located in the '''System''' or '''Administration''' menu.

  • IPad Safari doesn't always load all images on a page.

On sites such as boston.com's 'the big picture' (http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/) that have a lot of images, the ipad just doesn't seem to load all of the images.
My iPhone 3G does the same thing - though with different images. It's not a site-side thing, the code is fine (debug console doesn't show any relevant errors)
Is it that the hardware just can't display more than a few high-res images in one page properly?

    TwistedPenguin wrote:
It's obviously a problem specific to just your iPads (or a select few) or maybe your routers or a combination of those things. Because I've never had any sort of problem like that and I load graphic heavy sites non-stop on my iPad. My wifi is only 1.5 Mbps, too, and I just bet that's at least 10 times slower than any of yours. All I'm saying is don't be so quick to blame Apple as it may be something you haven't thought of.
Sorry, but you are wrong there. It is an iPad issue that has been discussed here several times before.
There is some kind of memory restriction.
Can you load all the images on conradp04's site mentioned above? I guarantee you can't!

  • Facebook images, profile photos, cover photos are not loading. Only small blue square with question mark. Same thing in Safari, FireFox, Chrome.

Since July on MacBook Pro facebook images, profile photos, cover photos are not loading. Only small blue square with question mark. Same thing in Safari, FireFox, Chrome. Everything is up to date including last version of Adobe Flash. And watching YouTube also a problem. Video is skipping, freezing for few seconds and jumps forward. At the same time on Toshiba with Windows Vista under the same account, same wi-fi connection everything works fine.
Please help with sugesstions to fix the issue.

Seems like problem is solved but it might be temporarily. Anyway. Click on the image, it will open facebook photo browser. Image is not loading so right click on the blue box with question mark, save image as. It will start downloading but without any success since browser do not see the image. After this attempt refresh the page and close all tabs with facebook. Try to open facebook once again. For some reason after this weird actions all images displayed properly. Do not know for how long but now it works.

  • Firefox 30 doesn't load a lot of pages that other browsers do. WHY??

For the last 5 days, Firefox doesn't load pages that other browser on my Mac do. I'm talking about all kind of pages (big .com pages like apple.com/trailers or boingboing or Runkeeper or even Mozilla support pages). I restart it and it does load them, but it doesn't take much time before I get to other that Firefox just doesn't want to open). I reset it, I cleared the cache, I tried all sort of suggested tips and tricks to no avail. In the mean time, all the pages with errors work just fine in Chrome or Safari.

You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) and check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a size 0 (zero).
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
