Images in portal

i want to get rid of the oracle logos that appear when i create my table? how can i do that?

I won't ask why, but all the images can be found on the filesystem of 9iAS.
Directory: <oracle 9ias home><portal30><images>
Look at the HTML source of the page to look for the name of the image. Create new images with the name of the images you want to replace.

Adding a image in portal

I am trying to add a image to portal....Getting error as follows:

to add an image to the Webi
1) add your images in this folder" C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Images" in a jpg format lets say " myimage.jpg"
2) add a free standing cell to the web report.
3) in the properties of this cell , go to background image , click custom , write the name of the image "myimgae.jpg" by default it will wirte to you "boimg://myimage.jpg" and it will show you your image in the box
4) configure the properties of the image like, position and border, etc.

Import Images through Portal

Dear SDNers!!!!
I have a requirement where portal users will upload images through Portal from there local machines. when I am trying to do so I am getting error as "illegal value parameter". I am able to assign images to records via portal if they are saved in MDM, but not able to upload through local machine. I tried the option of setting config parameter allow invalid parameter as yes, but still same error.
Am I missing some settings which I have to do for this.

Hi Dilmit,
which file format are you using to upload images for e.g. JPEG, BMP etc, in MDM console just right click on repository & choose properties and check below option properties
Prohibit Photoshop images "YES/No"
Use only Photoshop for processing "YES/No"
allow invalid images "YES/No"
Note : for Prohibit Photoshop images if you set "YES" will not allowed to upload prohibited images

How to change branding image of Portal?

Hello All,
This topic may sound very common to you al but i have tried soem basic steps but no success so i am posting this thread.
I want to change branding image of portal log on page.
I have navigated to this path.
S:\usr\sap\EPD\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\logon\root\layout
and replaced my image with existing one i mean i have removed the default image from this folder and pasted needed image.
Reatsrted server but no success.
What can i do for changes to take effect.

Hi Vinit,
Try these options
The images on the logon screen are hosted in the web server area for your WebAS 6.40, you can change it in two ways:
Option 1:- Connect to to server where the Portal WebAS is running and go to:
(drive):\usr\sap\SID\JCNN\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\logon\root\layout
There you will find the images used on logon screen, you can replace them for your company images, please take care with the width of the images, as usual, to make this change effective, you must restart the whole WebAS.
Note: each time you upgrade the WebAS (install a new SPS) these images willbe overwritten, so take it into account in order to replace it again after upgrade.
Option 2:
- Connect to the Portal's WebAS Visual Administrator
- Go to "Global Configuration" -> Server -> Services -> UME Provider
- look for following properties: ume.logon.branding_image and ume.logon.branding_text
- Change the image location for the desired one, but be sure the new images are present on a web server location over the WebAS

Hi All,
when clicking on a Member of a Collaboration Room, User Information of this Member is shown including an image of the user.
I would like to know where I can maintain these images. That is to know, where to upload images for a Portal User.

How to get the rendered image on portal.

I have 2 problems..
(i)I have installed IBR. i have configured UCM with IBR through Provider.
Now i am able to get all the renditions.
But, can some one tell me, how can i get the rendered formats. Through Content ID, i can able to get only the native file. I need to get the rendered image also.
I need to use those rendered format image on portal.
(ii)
how to change the image resolution?
In damconverter_baserenditions.hda file contains those details, I need to change those details like, i need to change the rendition set according to my requirement. I changed that still it is not working. Kindly suggest me something.

Download the par file com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak from
Go to System Administration -- Support -- Portal Runtime -- Browse Deployment.
The path should ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd. Now download that file into local system.
Create a Par project and make necessary chenages ..i.e
Open the downloaded par file with WinZip and inside the lib folder three jar files named com.sap.
portal.runtime.logon_api.jar, com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_core.jar and umelogonbase.jar will be there. Copy those files in the folder u2018libu2019 in par project.
Now change a branding Image...i.e
Replace the branding-image. jpg with your company branding image in the same name.
Once modifications are done,then create a par project and upload the par file into portal.
Go to the path System Administration -- Support -- Support Desk -- Portal Runtime -- Administration console.
then browse the file and click on upload.
Connect to server where the Portal WebAS is running and go to:
(drive):\usr\sap\<system id>\<system instance>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\logon\root\layout.
There you will find the images used on logon screen, you can replace them for your
company images, please take care with the width of the images, as usual, to make this
change effective, you must restart the whole WebAS.

Fetch Image from Portal in ABAP

Hello,
I have an image in a HTML published in the portal (with broadcaster). Now I want to use this image in an ABAP program. I can't call the web address directly because my program can't handle the Portal authentication. So I have two questions:
- is there any way to call Portal-websites which require authentication from ABAP?
or
- how can I directly get access to the image file without detour over the Portal.

yes you can call it using cl_http_client with the option to either pass userid/pwd or certificate

Goto System Administration => System Configuration => UM Configuration => Direct Editing.
In the set of properties listed there, change the value of ume.logon.branding_image to the location of your new image. Don forget to restart the portal server after making changes.
Place the image in the layout folder of your project which is nothing but the modification of the logon par file (com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak).

Referring to images from portal theme attributes

In our branded and customized theme we have a problem. Some background images are not displayed. The properties are set as displayed at the end of this message, I am not familiar with this type of value. The background image is White, and then an url to an (external file:outside the theme???) is given that points to an image. which cannot be found when putting the url directly into a portal session.
Is this background indeed a file outside the theme archive? and where could I look to find this?!

Images and Portal

Hi everybody,
images are saved by default as multilingual. Now we have a catalog where images have to be displayed independently from the language in the Portal. iViews generally do not support the language inheritance from MDM as far as I know, however, primarily inherited content may be displayed. This does not work. Does anyone have a good idea on how to display images for all languages? I do not want users to create the links in all languages separately (for 14 languages). I thought there was a trick in SRM-MDM, even thoguh this is not SRM-MDM scenario.
Any help appreciated.

How to read an image in portal component (EAR application) - in CE 7.1

In earlier versions of portal before CE 7.1, we were using the below code for reading an image from the component folder.
But in this CE 7.1 portal component ( we deploy as ear application) the reading an image from folder for the method was showing as deprecared. please let me know the right code to read an image from folder in portal component.
componentRequest.getWebResourcePath()+ - > which is deprecated in CE 7.1, but was working fine in earlier versions of CE 7.1.
Please let me know the right method to read an image in CE 7.1 portal component (ear application)

I've designed a table with an ordsys.ordimage field for images. BIG MISTAKE, because there is no possibility to upload images from a form. I'd like to change it into a BLOB field but an error arises:
"You cannot modify the column definition for types CLOB, NCLOB, BFILE, BLOBand Intermedia Object types(ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE, ORDSYS.ORDAUDIO, ORDSYS.ORDVIDEO). (WWV-17079)"
Could I change it anyhow in order not to build a new table? I have a lot of forms referring to that table and I should change these forms too....(and we know it is pretty difficult)...
I would appreciate any help.

Do you have any active constraints on that specific row? If the row is accessed by other forms (tables etc) you would need to disable them (for example foreign key constraints) and update the row (or remove and re-add it).
