Images in roll are in reverse frame order

Greetings from a Mac and iPhoto newbie,
I just had 7 rolls worth of 35mm film negs scanned to (7) CDs by the local drugstore and I loaded the photos onto iPhoto. No problem there, but I then realized that the lab had scanned my photos in reverse order (ie. frame #1 is now 24, frame 2 is 23, etc.)
So now my photos appear as an iPhoto "roll" backwards from how they were shot in the camera. I suppose I could manually change the time on each and every photo to force it to whatever order I want, but that would be a bit of work to do.
My question: Is there an easy way to reverse the photo order on each of the rolls?
thanks for any assistance!

The files will be sorted by the capture date or, in the case of scanned files, the scanned or modified date of the file. This will reverse when you change the ascending to descending. If the files were scanned you need to check the which date of the actual file that is being used. PhotoInfo can open a folder of files and display and change the capture date. Try it to see if there is a capture date and what is the order of the dates.
If it's the captured or modified date that's being used the only application that can change those is Mira. The downside to it is that all files in a folder are batched changed to the same date and time (if you select the time option). There's no option to add a delta time between each subsequent file.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • How to reverse the order of a bunch of still images in an iMovie Project

    Hello,
    I'm making a stop motion animation using iMovie'09. I need to reverse the order of a few hundred of the images that I imported.
    Does anybody know a good and time efficient way of doing this?
    Cheers,
    Onur.

    Ok, here's how have I done:
    1. Removed those images from the movie project
    2. Created a new project and added all the images which I want to reverse the order of
    3. Set the durations of the images as same as those in my first project
    4. Exported the project as a movie file
    5. Added this short movie file to the first project
    6. From clip adjustments menu, checked 'reverse'.
    There, the subset of the whole collection is displayed in the reverse order.

  • How to copy images from another MC in reversed order??

    Hi everyone,
    I'm new to AS3 and have been fighting and searching for a solution to this problem for a week now, and I'm VERY close!
    I crated a MC holding of a series of images (about 50) and I jump around in it using plenty AS3 scripts (most of which I don't fully understand yet, but I'm working on that to! )
    I had to find a way to "rewind" (= play backwards) the MC. Since there is a stop(); command in almost every frame, prevFrame does not work and if I put that in a loop, it goes WAY to fast (but worked).. So I could think of only one way...
    Create a new (reverserd) MC with the same image sequence ald reverse it manually and play that one.
    This all works fine (very proud of it ).
    Now my question:
    To get this to work for multiple image sequences, I have to load all images twice (once in MC_1 and again in MC_2 and select them and reverse them).
    Not a big one, unless you want to create MANY of those SWF's...
    Is it possible to load the 50 images of the first MC in reverse into the second MC dynamically? JUST the images, noting else.
    extra info: the MC_2 is already in the lib(empty) and placed on the stage.
    something like:
    var pointer:Number=1;
    for (var:i:Number=50;i>=0;i--) {
    get MC_1.picure(var);
    put it in MC_2.frame(pointer);
    pointer = pointer + 1;
    All help is welcome and please take into account that I have little experience and copy most of my scripting from people like you
    T.I.A.
    Melluw

    I tried your advice (thanks for that)
    The event I already have is the mouse leave
    I //-d out the part I removed (what did work)
    The code I ended up with is:
    function Start() {
    stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, cursorHide);
    function cursorHide(evt:Event):void {
    var currFrame = MC_1.currentFrame;
    if (CCW == true) {  //it is true in this case
      movStart = (50 - currFrame);
    else {
      movStart = currFrame;
    if (movStart>25) {
      MC_1.prevFrame();
    // removed swapChildren(MC_1, MC_2); // This is the part I removed
    // removed MC_2.gotoAndPlay(movStart);
    else {
      MC_1.gotoAndPlay (movStart);
    And if I leave the stage on the part where movStart is indeed >25
    Nothing happens,
    So I guess this is not what you meant
    Subject: Action Script 3 how to copy images from another MC in reversed order??
    I cannot direct you in the loading of the images approach, it will be too complicated, and will probably not work anyways... when you move away from a frame that has dynamic content, you lose the content.  So basically, there is nothing practical in taking that approach.
    I do niot understand what the problem will be with the enterFrame/prevFrame approach. If everything you can do with the mouse is already used (which I doubt) by the first mc, then there is nothing else you can do with this file.  You probably just need to rethink your control scheme.  You should search Google for "AS3 slideshow tutorial", and to lighten up your design, add "XML" in that search.

  • Songs are in reverse order on iPad, but correct on iTunes

    I have a number of Smart Playlists that look fine when displayed on iTunes, but when iTunes copies them to my iPad Air, the list of albums shows up in the correct order but the songs in each album are sorted in reverse order.
    So for example, I have a Smart Playlist defined where "Artist is Jean Michel Jarre".  That playlist is sorted by Year in list view and by Year-then-Title in Grid view.
    When I look at that same Playlist on my iPad Air, all of his albums appear in chronological order (which I expect), but the songs on each album are listed last-to-first.  So Oxygene (his first album) shows up before Equinoxe (his second album), but the list of songs on the Oxygene album are shown as: Part VI, Part V, Part IV, Part III, Part II, Part I.  All of the albums on the list are in the right order, but the list of songs on each album appears backwards in each one.
    This is just one example of a bug that manifests itself a lot on my iPad.  I have a lot of Smart Playlists that misbehave just like this.  I deal with it by creating not-smart playlists that are exact copies of the Smart Playlists -- but honestly, why offer Smart Playlists if they're not going to display correctly?  If they're this buggy, why am I using them at all?
    Does anybody know of a workaround for this bug?  Does anybody know whether Apple is aware of it, and if they have any plans to fix it?  Please? Maybe? Someday?

    I am now home from work, and over the past hour I have tried every combination of up-arrows, down-arrows, Copy To Play Order, sorting on the leftmost column, sorting on the Year column, etc. etc. that I could think of.  I believe I have followed your recommendations slavishly and to the letter.
    My Jean Michel Jarre Smart Playlist is sorted with the triangle on the leftmost column, and in iTunes, the playlist order is correct.  I have sync'd my iTunes library to the iPad several times, I have unchecked that playlist, performed the sync again to remove it from the iPad entirely, checked it again and performed the sync again -- I have also tried closing the Music app on the iPad and restarting it -- I've also tried deliberately sorting the tracks in iTunes in reverse order to see if the iPad does anything any differently, including a "Copy to Play Order" for good luck -- and every combination of all of these choices results in exactly the same outcome: on the iPad, albums show up in chronological order, and tracks in each album show up in reverse order.  Nothing I do makes any difference at all.
    Here's hoping iOS 8 at least doesn't make things any worse.  Maybe if the gods are smiling, it might actually solve this problem.  I was hoping that the upgrade to iTunes 11.4 might have made a difference, but, sadly, no such luck ... which is why my hopes for salvation in iOS 8 are not high ... but that doesn't stop me from being grateful to you for trying to help.  Thank you for your time.  I do appreciate it.

    Thanks, Peter. That could be the problem--operator error. But, I did a restart and all seems fine. If I get another image with a display issue, I'll be back

    One thing, don;t think of them as being imported in any one particular order.
    The order of the images is completely fluid, you can change it anytime you want to suit your needs at that particular moment.
    As Léonie showed you select the order you want to see the images in by selecting the item you want to sort on in the pull-down.
    The only time fluid sort order can be a problem is when you export groups of images. If you put the images into a particular order in Aperture when you export them and view them in the Finder the order they are in may very well be different. In this case you could give names to the images that include a sequence number or index.
    Then when they are viewd in the Finder they will be in them same order they were in in Aperture.

  • App Store reviews are useless without being sorted in reverse chronological order.

    This is an important question, as it goes to the fundamental usefulness of app reviews in the App Store. Recently one of my favorite ios apps was updated and done so poorly that it went from a 5 star to a 1 star app. Subsequently, the developer did a minor tweak, creating a newer version that did not fix the major issues, but has resulted in the many, many negative reviews written after the disastrous update being buried in all the high rating reviews created for a great previous version that no longer exists. Why are app store reviews no longer sorted by latest review first, i.e. reverse chronological order? It makes no sense for a review written in 2012 rating a a much older version of the app to be well ahead of 2014 reviews that relate to the disastrous update that occurred only a few months ago.  I wrote a very negative review but now that the developer has made a trivial update, my review is buried very deep in the older version section well behind reviews written in 2013 and 2012. That makes no sense whatsoever and defeats the purpose of user reviews. I can only believe that Apple has done this for the benefit of app developers, as I see no logical reason how it can benefit the Apple iPhone and iPad consumer.

  • How do I reverse the order in which files appear in Icon View option?

    I took a lot of pictures on a trip recently, which I have uploaded to a folder in Finder. When I click on View Options and then Keep Arranged by Date Created, they get rearranged so that the most recent appears at the top, and the first ones taken are at the bottom. How can I reverse this order, so that they appear in chronological order?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    There might be another way.
    There are utilities which can batch-rename files, including options that sort by date, begin all the resulting filenames with a common prefix, and then add a sequential "padded" filename suffix. If you then display the resulting collection of files in alphabetical order (as in Finder's Arrange by Name in icon view), they should be sorted chronologically.
    I haven't tried any of these, but the site for [A Better Finder Rename|http://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderRename/index.html], shareware, states:
    "A Better Finder Rename knows how to extract EXIF shooting date and time information from digital camera images and exploit them in creating sequence numbers or adding time and date information to the file name. "
    There may be suitable freeware alternatives -search for *file renamer* in [Version Tracker|http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx>.

  • How to reverse clip order in FCP7 timeline?

    I'd like to reverse the order of clips in my FCP7 timeline  (NOT reversing each individual clip). I want to show some clips on the timeline and then immediatley play the same set of clips in reverse order (not each individual clip in reverse order).
    Is there a way to reverse the order of the clips in the FCP7 timeline?
    Thanks!

    In other words, Meg, you're saying you don't know of any way to do what I'm talking about?
    Of course I could manually place them in reverse order, one by one - but that's not what I asked about. I asked how to reverse the order of the clips.
    To suggest manually rearranging the order of the clips in reverse would be like if someone asked how to reverse the play direction of one clip, and someone were to reply with a suggestion of rearranging the individual frames, one by one, until reverse playback of the clip were achieved.
    Let me try to clarify for anyone else that may read this, to avoid further difficulty understanding what I'm saying....
    I want to know how to take a series of clips that are on a timeline (i.e. Clips A, B, C, D, E, F), and get them to be put in the opposite order on the timeline (i.e. Clips F, E, D, C, B, A).  I DO NOT WANT to manually rearrange the clips, NOR rearrange copies of the clips, NOR take the Clips from the bin and place them in reverse order on the timeline.
    The point to my query is to avoid the time-consuming effort of manually placing clips in reverse order, if there is a way to do this (just like instead of taking a clip and painstakingly copy/paste each frame, one-by-one, in the opposite order of its natural way, you just Modify the Speed to Reverse).
    Make sense?

  • Stills exported back from Color are only 1 frame long

    I think I know the answer- I'm just hoping it's not true.
    Anyways. I have a 640x480 sequence of still images (tifs) set to music. I sent it to Color, and color corrected the stills. Then I rendered, and sent back to FCP. Only problem- the still images are only 1 frame long, and I can't change the duration in any way.
    Where did I go wrong, first of all? Should I have exported a SCQT of each photo first, and reedited using that? I have no motion of effects on that photo.
    Second of all, what's the best way of going from here. Do I need to regrade everything?
    Thanks for your help.

    No, the stills likely have a different colour profile associated with them, which should be taken care of in FCP... but as QT, maybe not... COLOR not differentiating or loading any Photoshop-type profiling.
    And, no, COLOR can't render tifs... It wants to render QT or dpx/cin.
    You should have been able to create a new COLOR project with your razored SCQT and done a File... Import Color Corrections from the former project, if you had exactly the same number and order of clips in the resulting sequence. Sort of a one-click solution to saving them all one at a time and loading them one at a time...

  • View iCal's day and week view in reverse chronological order

    Greetings iCalers,
    When I think about day/week calendars, with the Y-axis being times of the day as in iCal's day/week views (e.g. "3:00 AM", and "5:00 PM" are in the leftmost column), I think about times building up to midnight from the bottom—i.e. the day starts at 12:00 AM on the bottom, with 1:00 AM above that, and the day ends with 11:59 PM on the top. I've learned that this intuition is atypical, and all calendaring systems I've come across work in the reverse direction, in line with the majority of people's intuitions.
    I'm wondering if there's a way to get iCal to display in the reverse-chronological order. I suspect there isn't, and I've never seen a terminal command or apple script for it, but I'm hoping there is. If anyone know and could post it here, that would be great!
    Thanks!

    It's cool, I figured out a solution: get over it and stop worrying about trivial issues to the point of excessive fussiness.

  • Photos. They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. Copied them (hours and hours) to external hard drive. They are now in alphabetical order (19,000  of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order-and have been taken with different cameras- help!!!!!!

    Photos.
    They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. There are 19,000+ of them, some rescued from a pc crash- which I used the nifty iPhoto to put back into date order.
    I want to take them all off my laptop, now............as I need to use it for WORK!!
    Copied them (hours and hours) to another external hard drive.
    They are now in alphabetical order (all 19,000+ of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order. (-They have also been taken with different cameras over the years and some of the generic camera numbering remains.)
    I have tried to copy them (only a few as an experiment)  one event at a time, but that again "opens up" the Event "folder" and tips them out as individuals and therefore just lists image letters and numbers alphabetically.
    How can I copy
    the whole library still in  "Events" to an external hard drive?
    the folders/albums I have already made on to this hard drive?
    and how can I add to this back up monthly, again keeping events and folders separate and updated?
    Mac is so user friendly - there must be a way.........
    Thanks

    UPDATE : I have re-installed from disk, various apps that were no longer functioning such as iLife, iWork etc. So, I now can access my photos again.
    Also, I had to re-install all the software for my printer ( Stylus Pro 4880 ) and reset it so the printer is working again.
    Photoshop CS4 won't open. I think I will have to get in touch with Adobe as basically, I guess they have a built-in "blocker" which prevents me from opening the app as the license is for only 1 user and having re-installed the OS, there are now, in effect, 2 users ( Me and Me 1, I think ).
    So, having added on a new external HD, Time Machine has made a copy of most of the files, folders, apps etc onto the external HD. The internal HD is still nearly full ( 220 GBs out of 232 GBs ).
    I am guessing the way to go now in order to free up space on the internal HD is to delete/trash older photos from my iPhoto library and hope that if needed, I will be able to access them on the external HD.
    Am I correct ? Please advise before I do something I will regret.
    Thanks, Sean.

  • How to switch from reverse alphabetical order?

    Please forgive a newbie question: when I open a list view of my hard drives in Finder, the names of the folders are listed in reverse alphabetical order, with the Z's on top, and the A's on the bottom. How can I change it so that it displays the A's on top and the Z's on bottom, whenever I open the view? Thanks in advance.

    Click the "Name" bar, so the small triangle faces up again.
    You know you can also sort by Date Modified, etc, just click on the column's topbar.

  • Can I reverse the order of finder lists or icons?

    Hello,
    I am finding some problems with Lion that I never seemed to have with Snow Leopard and would very much appreciate someone's help.
    To cut a long story short I want to reverse the order of the files in finder, either in list or icon view (or maybe any kind of view). At the moment they are in date created order, but I have also tried in name order and cannot see any way to reverse the order.
    At present the are show the newest file first but I want to see them in oldest first as they always were for me in OSX 10.6
    Also... in date created view they appear in groups (eg previous 7 days, previous 30 days) I have never seen this before and find it particulalry annoying. I'm sure some people love it but for me it is one of the things that I most hated about windows, but at least in Windows I found it easy to turn off (along with reversing order!). Can anyone tell me how to stop OSX from doing this?
    Much obliged,
    Pablo

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're users here and don't speak for "Apple, Inc."
    In Finder icon view, click the Arrange button and select which column you'd like to sort by.
    In Finder list view, click the top header of any column to sort by that column. Clicking the same header again reverses the sort order (and the small 'arrow' at the end of the column name reverses direction too).
    And using Finder, View, Customize Toolbar the Finder window toolbar can be customized to display icons only, text only or both, as well as adding additional icons to the default toolbar:
