Images in wrong folder

Just started trawling though my many digital files. Upon opening one imported Folder, I find images from another folder present in there. A quick look in finder confirms that the actual images are where they should be, but LR has them in 2 places at once. What gives?

Since Folders are supposed to reflect actual folders in the finder, try this. Go to one of the folders of images in LR and select an image. Do Cmd-R which will show you the folder in the Finder. Now go to the other folder and do the same. Do you infact go to the same folder or another?

Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine: e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?

Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window. Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.

Links default to wrong folder

Why is it when I go to relink a placed image in the Links pallette it always directs me to the wrong folder (not the one the image lives in but elsewhere). I believe that it is taken me to the last folder I navigated to. thoughts?

You now have a prefernce for where relink goes, the last folder you used to link, or the folder where the original link resides. It's in the prefs.

Exporting Images to a folder on the hard drive

I used to be able to export images to a selected folder on my hard-drive without having to identify the folder for every image.
Now when I export I need to select the folder on my hard-drive for each image even thought I'm going to process 50+ images for that folder.
What is wrong & how can i fix it?
Can anyone help?

I just tried it again and it seems to be working....
If it happens again, will use export with previous.
I was exporting the normal way through the library but my sub-folder was on my hard-drive.

Music files appear on "images and videos" folder i...

After syncing all my music files using windows media player, I have noticed that the "images and videos" folder in my gallery also display music files. Their icons are the pink musical notes, and their file names are all the same ( one of the songs that I have added). When I delete it, the song gets deleted from the phone. Why is it like this? Isn;t this folder supposed to display only images and videos. How come there are music files in it. It looks so messy to me having all the types of files in one folder. Can you please tell me what's wrong with my phone?

I discovered that I had accidentally imported several folders with the wrong filename prefix. I use the first three letters so it corresponds to the camera I shot it with, the program I exported it from, or the person who sent it to me. The last source, essentially.
Is there an easy way I am not seeing in LR to rename all the images in a shoot without having to reimport them?

Hightlight all of the images in the folder, press F2, and set up a renaming preset to your taste, and then apply it. Note that the preset mechanism is the same one used at import.

Save image to local folder

Hi,
I am using Labview to out put the images from a external camera. There is a 32bit 2D array output integer. How can I save the image to local folder. I have used following functions. Even though the program runs just fine, there is no image saved not even an unreadable file.
Please let me know if you have any advice.

Try wiring the error output of the Write JPEG File VI to an indicator. Maybe something is going wrong there behind the scenes. Also couldn't hurt to probe the Pixmap wire, to confirm it contains some real data.

That looks to me like you may have your site definition set up incorrectly and you appear to be using "Site Root Relative" vs "Document Relative"
Go to Site > Manage Sites > click the site you are working on > Click the Edit icon > Advanced Settings > Links relative to: should be set as Document, unless you have a very specific reason for choosing Site Root there
If your server root folder is called www, you'll need to remove that folder from your site root. You are only transferring files from root to root, so the name of your local root folder is not important (the files inside it go to the server root). It is important not to accidentally have a duplicate of the server root folder inside your local root though which would accidentally nest your files within another folder when transferring to the server.

IPhone Deletes Exchange Emails To Wrong Folder

I have a Microsoft Exchange mail account setup on my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) which works wonderfully, short of one aspect: Emails deleted from my phone do not go to the accounts standard 'Trash' folder, but to a different 'Deleted' folder. I can see no way to change this setting. Any ideas?

Lightroom imports photos to wrong folder

I've been importing lots of photos from my hard drive into lightroom and been moving/renaming them in the process. I only got lightroom a few weeks ago.
This has worked fine but i've recently imported a few hundred photos off my iphone and doing the same thing - move and rename. The trouble is, these photos keep going into the 2009 folder, instead of the 2012 or 2013 folders that they should be. When i look at the photos, they have the correct name, and the capture date seems to be correct, its just lightroom keeps wanting to put them in the wrong folder by year. Does anyone understand why this might be happening?
naturally I want all my photos sorted into the right date folders as this is the way ive decided to organise my photos...

hmm so still not making sense. it keeps wanting to import my photos into the wrong destination. have removed all the photo from lightroom. how do i change it so it automatically puts the photos into the corresponding year/month they were taken..
I understand its something in the import settings/destination but cant seem to change this. not sure what parts of the import box your wanting to see Dj.
the structure now is my pictures/2009/21-7-09 then its creating new year folders and sorting them within this 21-7-9 folder..

You question makes no sense - iPhoto does not "drag" photos anywhere - it works on a SQL database and controls the photo locations correctly - you never access them direcly but always use the provided tools to access the photos - click here for a discussion on the many correct and safe ways to access your iPhoto library photos.

Saves to wrong folder

When I want to save a jpeg file into the same folder I opened I click 'save as' and the wrong folder
opens but with the correct file number I am working on ready to save.
I have to search in pictures and re-open the correct folder to save into.
The photo also appears in the wrong folder and I have to delete it from there.
I have been using PS3 for years and this has just started happening for no reason.
Can anyone help please.

Downloads in wrong folder

Hello!
I have the problem that firefox saves/downloads files to the wrong folder. I have chosen a folder for the download of files and this folder is shown in the "general settings window" (I don’t know the English name - i have the Swedish version of firefox). But still firefox downloads to another folder! I have recently re-installed windows vista and have had this problem since then!

How can I import *just* the new images in a folder?

Is there anyway to import only the images within a folder that aren't already in the library? This seems to be the default behavior in Lightroom and makes really good sense. If I add an image to a folder without doing so in Aperture, I'd really like to just import that new version into the library.

The dmg files have downloaded to the wrong folder - not finished with the install process

The dmg files have downloaded to the wrong folder - I am at the part of the download/install process where the "Welcome" screen appears asking for me to agree to the license agreement. Somewhere on your site, I read that they should NOT go to the applications folder but to the "Users" folder. Can/should I move/drag the folder with the dmg files into the "Users" folder"? If so, before or after I complete the install? I am running MAC OSX 10.7.4 on a MAC Mini.
Also, when the trial period is over, I will use the license number for the purchased software disks, should the dmg's/folders then be moved to the application folder or stay in the "users" section? I have Purvhased Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10, but somewhere on your site it was suggested to download them instead and use the license code at the appropiate time. If someone can help with these questions, I would appreciate it. Thank you

In the Welcome screen, you can accept the license agreement and can go ahead with the installation. You will be asked for the serial number. If you don't have one, install it as a trial application. By default, it's installed in the Applications folder. However, you can change the installation folder in the third screen, if you have a reason. Please see the screenshot below:
After installing, you can't move application to a different directory by dragging. You need to uninstall and install it again in the folder of your choice.
