Images (including stamps) imported as negative.

For no apparent reason, images (jpeg, tif, pdf, etc) imported into Acrobat 9 are being imported as negatives.  This includes previously define stamps, including the standard ones that came with Acrobat. The images load correctly in Photoshop or any other image display program but load as negatives into an Acrobat document.  Converting a JPEG to PDF by opening with Acrobat, for example, results in a negative image in Acrobat.  This occurred suddenly after many months of working beautifully.  Does anyone know where the setting would be found?  I've looked all over and can't find it, nor can I find a reference to the problem.

Blotches of color could indicate that the file is corrupted. This is almost always a hardware problem ... camera card, card reader or USB cable, hard disk. Try using other hardware to transfer your photo to a different hard disk. see if that helps.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved.  That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

LR 5.6 on Mac desktop all of a sudden will not read any card from any reader but will work on my laptop. I can work on previous images but not import new ones. Even if I create a catalog on laptop and import to my desktop on a thumb drive, the images are only accessible as long as the thumb drive is inserted.

Sounds like you may need to repair the Disk Permissions on your drive where your images are stored.

I have been using Lightroom 5 for 2-3 months now and all worked well, up until today's effort to import a new set of photos. I am working on a Mac with Yosemite 10.10.1.

Go to the bibliothec module, select the folder, right click on the folder and hit synchronize

  • How to set image size for importing photos from a digital camera

I'm using Iphoto 6 and am a novice user of my new digital camera. The camera is set to HQ image quality. Initially when I imported photos from the camera into IPhoto, the images were very large (over 1 meg) and produced good quality 4X6 prints. Now when I import photos from the same camera still set to HQ image quality, the photos are very small (less than 100 kb) after being imported into IPhoto. I think I must have changed some kind of setting in IPhoto that affects the size of an imported image, but I can't find where that is or how to change it back so that the size is not changed when imported. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks!

Dave, thanks for clarifying Toad's response for me - I was just too ignorant to connect the dots from his responses. As you said, there were 2 versions - 1 in the original folder and 1 in data; the original folder had the photos that were 1 mb. We must have pulled from that folder previously to print photos not realizing they existed in 2 places. So when we found these thumbnail photos, we just thought they were the real thing. Where can you go to learn about the struction and hierarchy of the photos in terms of what Iphoto does to an image when you import it? Is it in Iphoto help somewhere? Thanks so much for your help with this, and you too Toad for leading me down the path.
If you're getting the size from Finder, I think Old
Toad's question makes a lot of sense. Is the file
you're looking at, somewhere in a folder called
"Data" in iPhoto Library? That 56k sounds about the
    right size for a thumbnail.
If you do a search for the image name, both the
actual photo and the small thumbnail are stored with
    the same image, e.g. abc.jpg

Check your Import settings in the Import Panel, i.e. all that might exclude the image type you want to import:
If you did not exclude any file types, and still Aperture will not import, remove your ImageCapture preferences fro your user library:
To remove the image capture preferences:
If Aperture is running, quit Aperture,  and log off and on again.
Open your user library from the Finder's Go menu: Hit Command Shift G (⌘⇧G) and then type in: ~/Library/Preferences/  then hit return.
In the window that opens remove "com.apple.ImageCapture.plist"
and look into the subfolder "ByHost": if there are files named com.apple.ImageCapture  something .plist  remove them too.
    then try again.
And if that still does not help, remove the Aperture preferences as well:
    ~/Library/Preferences/aperture.plist
    Regards
    Léonie
P.S. in MacOS Lion and later the user library ~/Library is hidden by default.
You can reveal it also  from the Finder's "Go" menu:
Finder > Go,   then hold down the options ⌥ key, until the Library appears in the drop-down menu, select it and open the Library folder. Then go to the "Preferences".

  • Poor quality image preview in import

I could be mistaken, but it seems lately that the preview of the images that I import into Aperture are of very poor quality. The end images and previews are fine once imported. I only notice the problem (if it is a problem) on the import screen. I don't think I changed a setting, and I don't recall them looking like this in the past.
Does anyone know about this? Can anything be done and if so, what and how?
    Thanks.
    Mac

    Allen,
It's not that it is a problem, per se. It is more of a preference. I'd rather see higher quality images before I import, and thought that I did at one time. I could be mistaken about that, but if I did, and if it is possible, I'd prefer to have it that way.

Has anyone else got this working with OSX 10.7.4 Lion with Acrobat X ?- Its a consistent problem for me on both my MacBookPro & IMac computers

Exactly, that feature was so valuable for me in previous versions.  I am not sure why someone who sells something would eliminate a feature that customers use. What person made that call?  They are probably working at Microsoft now making those "great products" (though I do like Excel, but only because they haven't changed it, esentially, for years...of course, how much can you really change a calculator?).

  • Using Image Capture to import to Aperture but pictures went disappeared

    Dear All,
I used Image Capture to import my pictures from iPad to my Aperture. This is my first time doing so. Normally I would just use Aperture to do the direct import.
The Image Capture saying all imports were successful, however, I could not find one single picture in Aperture. So I did it again, and it said all images were imported.
I restarted my computer to see whether the update was delayed, but I still could not find any picture.
Then I tried to import again by watching out the disk size, to see whether the import was actually taken place. And the outcome is positive, the available size of the disk is dropping (nothing else was running at the mean time).
So now I have this annoying thought keeps coming, where are all the images? And if I did import them 3 times, I want to delete them......

Your Aperture library is showing a wrong icon - have you changed it manually? The Finder is showing it as a plug-in, not as a photo library.
The icon should look like a fan of pictures, at least in aperture 3 - what is your Aperture version btw.?
You said, that the available disk space is being reduced, when you are importing, but does the size of your Aperture library increase, or is it staying at 46.82 GB?
If you did not change the icon of the library intentionally, your aperture library may be corrupted, and is not recognizable as a library. Try, if repairing the Aperture library with the First Aid Tools will fix this:
Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
Make a backup of the library, before you try the First Aid options.
After repairing, look for a "recovered" project inside the library.
If your current Aperture library really does not import the photos, the images may be in a temporary folder or a different Aperture library.
To search for the image files outside Aperture, use the Finder's search panel.
Open a Finder window showing your HD and type "⌘F".
Add a search rule "Kind is Image"
And set "Arrange by" to "Date Added". This will show all newer imports at the end of the list.

  • Images won't import from Lightroom. (I have Creative Cloud 1.7.1.418/Photoshop (2014)/Lightroom 5.6)

Images won't import from Lightroom to be edited. There were no problems until I upgraded to Photoshop (2014). LR & Photoshop work well independently (I have Creative Cloud 1.7.1.418/Photoshop (2014)/Lightroom 5.6). All are up-to-date.

I had the same problem.  It seems the scripts that control the transfer of images from LR to Photoshop got deleted or messed up.  The fix I found on the LR forum was as follows:
This solution allows you to run a repair installation without uninstalling Photoshop CC 2014. If you've already uninstalled Photoshop CC 2014, install it from the Apps tab of the Creative Cloud desktop application.
Open the Creative Cloud desktop application.
    Select the Apps tab.
Scroll down (if necessary) until the Find New Apps section displays.
On the same line as Find New Apps, select Filters & Versions > Previous Version.
Click the Install button next to Photoshop and select CC 2014.
    Click Yes, install this version.
Once I did this, the interaction between LR and PS CC 2014 started working again.  I did notice that Photoshop showed up as needing to be updated in the Adobe CC application so I just clicked on the update button and after a few minutes photoshop had been updated.  The importing function still works so I think everything is OK.
Not sure if this was part of the problem, but after updating the PS CC 2014 application  the first time, I uninstalled the original PS CC application as I didn't need it anymore.  I'm thinking that may have caused the scripts to be uninstalled along with the PS CC application.  Rerunning the installation put things back to normal.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to apply image texture to imported shape

This is regarding applying am image texture to an object.
I am able to apply an image texture to a Sphere.
    Sphere mySphere = new Sphere(1.0f, Sphere.GENERATE_NORMALS | Sphere.GENERATE_TEXTURE_COORDS, 10,appear);
    objRoot.addChild(mySphere);
But when i import a model from a file(.obj), and apply the texture to the imported objects,
the image is not displayed as texture but a color similar to the image is displayed.
How to apply image texture to imported objects?

Mylenium, thanks for your response but unfortunately I'm still missing something here. I have two problems:
    1. I don't understand how to size the logo to only cover a small portion of the golf ball. Because of the other problem I'll describe in 2) below, I simplified my test by trying this on a basic PS sphere. I loaded the logo image into the diffuse texture but it wraps the sphere. I tried editing the texture thinking I could fix it by using Transform scale, but that is greyed out. So, how do I cause the logo to apply to a small portion of the surface (as a traditional golf ball logo would appear)?
    2. Perhaps the bigger issue here is when I attempt to do this with the golf ball 3ds model instead of the PS sphere, the wrapped logo appears to be sitting somewhere between the outer surface of the ball and the inner core. In other words, the wrapped logo has a very sporadic appearance where it shows up in some dimples but not others. It isn't just applying to the surface of the ball. Thinking this might have been a problem with the .3ds model I acquired an .obj golf ball from a different source but it exhibited exactly the same problem.
I'm experienced with PS and 3D in a couple of other programs, but new to 3D in PS. I appreciate your help with this.

  • Can I import a negative scan in PCE11 on an iMac

I just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 11 for my iMac.  Using my HP Photosmart C7280 scanner, can I import scanned negatives or slides?
    Thank you in advance.
    Steve

You can scan them, but PSE will only easily convert B&W negatives to positives via the Invert command. For color negs you would be better off using any software that came with your scanner.
To scan directly into the PSE editor, you must first install the TWAIN driver:

  • Show stacked images in Previous Import

    Consider the following scenario:
    1. Import an image.
=> The imported image is shown. In the left panel Previous Import is selected.
    2. Export the image to a plugin.
=> The exported image is processed by the plugin and reimported and stacked with the original imported in step 1.
    === Actual in LR3.0 ===
As long as the user remains on Previous Import, the original is shown as being a stack of 2, but expanding the stack does not show the 2nd image.
    === Expected ===
Always have the contents of a stack available.

With Previous Import the behavior is a little different from Collections - in Collections the case I described does not result in a stack. Period. In Previous Import, a stack is created, but you cannot see the contents when expanding it. This looks much more like a bug than a feature that is not supported under certain circumstances.
