Images Move on PC

Hi, I am using iweb to build my web site but I notice that my pictures or images are not where I put them when I view the site on a pc. They look fine on a mac but move on a pc. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a common problem with iWeb users and to be honest, unless you know CSS there is not much you can do. The problem arises when browsers interpret padding, margins a positioning differently. Standard web designers get round it by using conditional comments so they design their site for one browser (usually Firefox) then add a few conditions for IE. The CSS style sheet is then applied to what ever browser the site's visitor is using.
The best thing to do (and I am sure Old Toad will back me up here) is to place a small text box on your page saying that your site is best viewed in Firefox and/or Safari. You should really be designing and testing your site in Firefox before it goes live as this is the fastest growing and most CSS compliant browser available.

How do I have an image move with a text box?

I need to embed an image within a text box so that when I add additional text in the future, the image moves with the text that surrounds it.
For example, if I have a paragraph of text, then on the following line vertically I have an image, then on the following line another paragraph of text ... When I add additional paragraphs of text above the image, how can I have the image track down to stay between the original two paragraphs of text?

Thanks Zak! I figured that out but now have another problem that I just posted. The app keeps locking up when I try to export HTML or upload my site to the server. Please give me any advise on how to handle it.

I just upgraded to the latest version of Muse. I made a few changes to my site and I'm trying to export the HTML. I've now tried 3 times and the app locks up at 89%. It completes all pages, but locks up there. When I look into the Muse Export folder, there is nothing there. The window reads "Finishing export" but it stays at that point for more than an hour when I finally give up and force quit.
Any ideas? Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas on how to get my HTML exported successfully?

Just an update. Previously I was attempting to export HTML to the Muse Export folder on my computer. I described what happened above. Now, I'm trying to publish directly to my FTP site. Its doing basically the same behavior where it exports all desktop pages (189 of them) then it locks up. However, the interesting thing is that when exporting to the Muse Export folder on my computer this said it was 89% complete. When uploading to my server, it says its 59% computer when all pages have been exported. Both options result in the app locking up and never completing the export. I did check my site online to see if the pages were really updated. I made a change to the nav bar on the master so I should see that on every page. It is not showing up online yet even though the app says all 189 pages have been exported. Still looking for help, all advice and ideas will be appreciated! I do want to get my updates online.

Here's what I have when it locks up. It sits like this for hours.

Background image moves when disabled

I have an image in a frame window. When you click on the image and move the mouse the image moves. I have but the image still moves. Also I wish to disable the right hand mouse context menu that opens the image in a new window and other items.
It does the same thing in Safari for OS X on a Mac.
Any help appreciated.

The images are moveable on all sites including the apple site.
Is it a preference in the browser? Is this common to all Safari browsers?

When copying or duplicating files, some images move

I'm using CS5 and CS5.5.
When copying or duplicating In-Design files, some of the images move slightly within the image frame while others
are perfectly fine. This doesn't happen every time, appears totally random, and can be rectified by relinking the images
in the original document and the new document.
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so are there any solutions?

Cannot import images/movies to garage band 9

Trying to import images/movies into garage band but i keep getting the message saying that i need version 5 to do it. I have Garage Band 9.
Tried to do this on a nother mac and that worked perfectly. Is there any solutions to this?

With the Healing Brush Tool selected, in the Tool Options, click on Clone Overlay and check Clipped.

Entire image moves when using the Healing Brush

After I alt/click to select the color for the brush, the entire image moves with the mouse. Any ideas on this?

Thank you for your help, but I believe my questions remains unanswered -- mainly, because my English isn't the good.
Here's what I am asking:
1. I need something that is animated that blinks or flashes to alert the viewer to scroll down the page. I would put the wording: Scroll Down for more (and then an arrow blinks or gently moves up and down to alert the user to move down).
2. is there a way that the entire homepage on it's own moves downward?

Scan harddrive for all images/movies?

hi — quick question,
does anyone know if it is possible to make iPhoto scan my computer and import all available images/movies? or 3rd party software that can help do this?

Spotlight? But here's a tip: when you do an all images search be sure to put a minimum size on it or you'll get every icon and cached gif on the Mac.

Image moves when hyperlinked?

Hi Guys,
When i add a hyperlink to the image at the top of my page the image moves across to the right, when i delete the link it moves back to center, any ideas whats causing this?

The shift might be caused by default borders on linked images. Try adding this to your CSS code.

Web page images move up or down in pcs

I have a similar problem. Just finished my new website which looks great in Iweb but when I publish it it looks different in every browser and even worse in PCs. My website is www.davidleon.biz
The pictures, html widgets and lines seem to come up or down on the screen depending on browser and whether it is a pc or apple & it looks horrible. I updated the system to 2.0.4 and re-plublished everything but still does not make a difference. I even tried to change fonts to more PC friendly ones... Please help I need to start promoting the site asap

Did you know that different browsers interpret CSS files differently, especially when it comes to padding and margins. To make a web-site compliant in all browsers is very difficult unless you are a CSS guru (and in iWeb it is almost impossible).
You have to expect some movement with the images/text in your site, the only thing you can do is keep tweaking the design and checking in IE, FF and Safari until the changes between the 3 are minor.

Image movie not displaying correctly

Hi All
I am trying to make a slideshow in Imovie that I will then attach in IDVD. When I import the images and play them they appear to zoom in and out with some images cutting off heads etc, how can I just display the image then move to the next without any special effects?

I believe your Ken burns effect is on. Uncheck and apply to all frames.

Find source for images & movies in Keynote

If one has a Keynote presentation, and wants to get a copy of the actual image or movie used in a slide, is there an easy way to figure this out?
Specifically, the images and movies are all kept in the Keynote package and can be perused with a right click and show package. However, if there are lots and lots of images in a Keynote presentation, it may take a long time to manually go through each of the images and movies to see which matches what one sees on the Keynote slide. Can one get information from the slide easily about the name of the image or movie that was used to make it?

There are two ways that I can think of to do this. The best would be to have the two different videos on two different slides. Then you can use a disappear transition from one to the other and have the videos play automatically after transition.
The other option, if you need to keep them all on one slide is to put the two movies in. Set the first one to automatically play after transition. Then add an action of Opacity and set to 0%. Then have the second movie start to play after the Opacity Action.
I should add, that I have not tested this, but I think that it should work.

Crop a background image (movie) - working with a template

I'm working with the template "Promo > Product Shot". The image block with the bike is what I want to replace with my own video clip.
I can't figure out how to replace it, so I took the video clip and "placed" it. That's all fine, but now I want the size of the video clip to match the size of the bike block. I can scale it down to get close but then I'd have to crop the sides to get the vertical block shape.
Can't figure out how to do this either. Is it even possible?

Image moves after updating

I have a document containing some scanned linked images in indesign. However when I see some errors in in them, I crop them in Photoshop. When these images get updated, they either increase in their size ( if I have autofit enabled), or change their position if I have autofit disabled. Is there a way so that the image stays in place after I crop them in Photoshop? I’m using indesign cs6

Pixel dimensions is the size, in pixels, of the image. Resolution is how large you wish to print those pixels by specifying how may will fill a defined space, ie. 300 pixels in the space of an inch. Resolution has nothing to do with number of pixels that the image contains. When you crop the image in Photoshop you are cutting off pixels and throwing them away -- changing the pixel dimensions for the image.

That's what I mean (except that I also mean you can move the image around inside the frame rather than adjusting the frame itself). There is no functional difference in your output if you crop in ID, and there are plenty of advantages, like the ability to reposition or show more of the image, and the size of the image doesn't change if you edit.

Premiere makes imported images & movies blurry

I have imported a number of video and art files (.mov, .jpg & .png) into premiere and everything I import is blurry in the preview view and when exported. It also does this with any text titles I generate inside premiere. I have it set to the highest quality settings so I'm not sure if there's anything else that I can do to make it look like what it looks like if I open the image or movie outside of premiere, which is nice and sharp.

dimensions: I can't seem to find the article again but I found an article on resizing a project by hacking the project file and changing the dimensions in it. I did that to try and keep the dimensions proportional to the default 720x480. The reason is because some of my video had stuff in the frames around the edges that I didn't want. The only way to get rid of it was to either scale up the video (which I didn't want to do due to loss of quality) or make the project dimensions smaller. That way I could then scale down the video just enough to crop out the edge stuff.
