Images not getting Loaded while running Java Application through jar file

Hello Friends,
I have a problem while starting my application.I have written my application using pure java. There is no JSP or anything just pure swings.Mine is a standalone appplication. So i used to run it using a batch file. And when i used to start my application it used to not show me the images.so what i did was i mentioned the starting directory in the properties of the batch file (ie in the start in column field). But that was when i was using weblogic server. And i have lot of people working on the same application.so i used ZAC publisher in weblogic and along with that i used to publish the batch file also.so the users dint have any problem. But now what is my problem is i m trying to use JAVA Webstart instead of weblogic ZAC.Now in webstart what happens is that i have to run the appliaction thru jar file.so where do i mention the class path so that the images get loaded. As of now the imaes are not getting loaded.i feel this is a class path problem.but where do i mention it that is my problem. It would be really helpfule if someone could help me out.
thanx and regards,
[email protected]

try out this
ImageIcon img1=new ImageIcon(this.getClass().getResource(imagename));
for exmaple
Imageicon img1=new ImageIcon(this.getClass().getResource("name1.jpg"));
dont 4get to include the image files in the jar file

    start java -jar applicationname.jar
That'll pop up another consoleI'm under the impression that the console window he is seeing is the one which cmd.exe opens when it is executing the batch file. And that batch file won't return until the java process has completed because he didn't start it in the background to let the batch file continue and terminate.
So I don't think just simply substituting java with javaw will do much good either. Still think he needs a "start" command in that batch file.
    So now he can try:
    start java -jar ...
    or
    start javaw -jar ...Fair point

  • Error while running Java Application as NT Service using INSTSRV

    Hi,
I am trying to run Java Application as an NT Service using Instsrv. But when i start the service It works fine.when i stop the service it does not stop and it continues to run the application. When i uninstall the service It still executes. When i reboot my machine it stops .Is there any solutions for this.Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I actually had similar situation. I used autoexnt.ext tool (it creats a service that can be called when rebooting) to start a batch file which in turn run a java program. After the program starts, it can only be stopped through Task Manager or Ctrl-C at the dos window (it creats a dos window) or close the window directly. Stopping the service has nothing to do with the program. I feel this is reasonable because the only function of the service here is to start the application. After that the service does not (very likely) have any connection with the program so whatever you do with the service will not affect the program itself. I wonnder if you are in the same situation.

I know that CR2011 do not have any sdks/ jar available for deployment. In this case, which runtimes should I be using? Does installing CR2011 be enough in the development box?
Please provide me the link from which I can download the same.
Let me know if I need to provide more details on this. Any suggestions are most welcome.
    Thank You.

even i add oracle jar in my path seprately it gives me same error
any idea what is reason ?

    Thanks for reply
My problem solved problem was JAVA_HOME.
Actually on normal shell Jdk version was 1.5, but when it runs my crowntab command linux used jdk 1.4, although JAVA_HOME in etc profile was 1.5 , as it was getting jdk 1.4 so while loading drivers it also includes 1.4 libaries.
This cause exception in running my crontab entry so i set java_home as well in my shell file and add that shell script in crontab entry

I created a web application and right click on the project --> new --> General --> ExternalApplications --> ExternalApplication.
In the ExternalApplication registration I declared application name then in step2 I entered LoginURL as http://mail.zoho.com/biz/index.do, Username as LOGIN-ID and Password as PASSWORD. Then i clicked on next --> next --> Finish.
After that i created one jsf page and drag and drop that external application into jsf.

  • Cannot open MSWord while running java application

    Hi everyone
I'm not sure if anyone has encountered this problem before.. I'm running a java application under Windows NT and when I try to open an office document it won't run until that java application has been shutdown. I don't even get an error message for this. Nothing happens at all until the application is shutdown and then MSWord just opens as if nothing had ever happened.
Anyone have any ideas as to what this problem might be?

    As a guess.....
    1. Run a "hello world" java application. Use task manager and take a snap shot of the processes window.
    2. Run nothing else but the java application. Use task manager and take a snap shot of the processes window.
    3. Compare the two and eliminate any that are the same.
    4. Run nothing else but word. Use task manager and take a snap shot of the processes window.
    5. Compare it with 3. Note the ones that appear both times.
    6. Run the java application - use task manager to kill what you found in 5. Run word.
Step 6 will probably cause the java app to fail in some odd way. But now you know why it doesn't work.
Of course if nothing is the same in 5 above then that would be odd.

  • Fonts are not reflecting while running Java Applet Through Forms

    Hello Oralce Gurus!!
I have a Java Applet which has few lines of text in different
fonts such as AgencyFB, Verdana Ref etc., When I am running this
applet from console, I am able to see the text in different
fonts. Where as If I run the applet through forms (as a Bean
(ViewerBean) ), the fonts are not reflected. The text appears in
    a default font.
All the fonts are installed on WinNT, where the applet resides.
I will be greatful if anyone can suggest me a solution.
    Thanks,
    Raghu

  • Jquery slider is not consistently loads while running coded ui automation script

    Hello Guys,<o:p></o:p>
I am doing coded ui automation testing for mvc application. Now there are some features where we are loading Jquery slider from left towards right. Actually those slider loads properly
when users does it manually but when i ran it using coded ui script, so sometimes slider comes and go back within seconds .This means it is not loading properly but sometime its load fine.so due to that coded ui does not find respective control to click over.<o:p></o:p>
I have tried to wait with different option of playback , wait , delay but the behavior is still same.
That means my test fails to load proper slider window  most of the time.<o:p></o:p>
Can anyone suggests me some inclinations to solve this problem. <o:p></o:p>
    Thanks in advance.<o:p></o:p>

Actually i have tried to wait in all possible ways provided by coded ui . But issue happens only sometime during following scenario:
    1. I click on "x" button
    2. Then that slider gets loaded from right towards left. There is again other internal ajax call which brings up data to show on slider. For that i have used webwaitforcontrolready=3 to disable ajax or js engine.
    3. But sometimes problem occurs when automation scripts clicks on "x" button ,then slider comes and go back within fraction of seconds. I do not know whether it is due to network speed or any other issue. so due to that subsequent action on that slider are
not getting executed or gets failed.
could you please suggests me which wait should i use till that slider loads completely and then only move to next action?
i have tried using wait(), thread sleep(),waitforcontrolready(),waitforcontrolexits(),waitforcontrolenabled(),playback.settings.waitforreadylevel=allthreads.

  • Query regarding running Java application from Batch file

    Hi,
I have written an application in Java and I have packaged it as a JAR file.
In my system I use a batch file called 'run.bat' to execute the program. The batch file is as follows:
    java -classpath "%CLASSPATH%;editor.jar" editor.JPad
This works fine in my system. But when it is executed in other systems where JRE is not configured properly, I am not able to correctly start the Java application.
Please can anybody tell me, how to detect the JRE from the Batch file and refer to it correctly, so that it will run in any system with JRE.
Can we do this from a Batch file ?
    Hoping for a quick reply.
    Thanks,
    S.Sampath

You can't really "detect" whether a JRE is available from a batch. All I can think of is to check for the typical Java variables (JVM_HOME, CLASSPATH etc) to exist. If they don't, especially JVM_HOME, a JRE is probably not installed.

  • Java application - build JAR file & include JCO library

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Java application that <i>connects to SAP system using JCO </i>library <b>(sapjco.jar)</b>.
I would like to create a JAR file from my Java application but when I run the JAR file that I created I get an error that <b>NoClassDefinitionFoundError com/sap/mw/jco/JCO at [...]</b>
That means that the JCO and associated DLL files <b>(sapjco.jar, librfc32.dll and sapjcorfc.dll)</b> were <u>not</u> included/packed in my JAR file.
<b>-- How can I include the JCO lib in JAR file?
-- If there is a problem with the DLL files, how can I include the JCO lib externally (dynamicly read the JCO whenever my JAR in run)?</b>
I am using Eclipse 3.2 and Export to JAR option when I click right button on Project.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR HELP!!!

    Hi,
The problem is that you don't have defined the libraries in the Manifest file of your jar-file. So the jar doesn't know what to use at runtime.
Add following entry to the MANIFEST.MF file:
    Class-Path:/<lib_folder>/<lib1_name>.jar; /<lib_folder>/<lib2_name>.jar and so on.
    Regards,
    Daniel
