Images not showing in firefox (background & foreground)
Was workiing on a client's computer and noticed that background images and some foreground images didn't load in Firefox.
I researched and tried a number of suggested solutions, but none of them worked. I even updated to newest version of firefox in an attempt to resolve the probem, but still nothing.
As a side note the images do load with other browers, so I am a but confused as result.
If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.
*Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden Menu bar.
Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
*Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
*If an image in the list is grayed and "<i>Block Images from...</i>" has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.
Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the <b>permissions.default.image</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page should be 1.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

Web gallery images not showing in Firefox
I have just created a web gallery in Adobe Bridge CS4. I had it working perfectly in all browsers and now all of a sudden the images are not showing up in Firefox. Anyone else have this problem?

CS6 Encore - images not showing up in backgrounds
I want to import my images to use as menu backgrounds.
When I import the images they show up in the "diplay images" but not "display of backgrounds".
In fact, I have no backgrounds showing up.
Thanks for any help.So can you only use screen images captured form a scene
I'm sure not; my success image was a copy of a noncapture.
can you use any jpg or psd file...and in what kind of saved format/resolution.
That's what I don't see yet. What format (jpg? psd?) did you use that got into the background list.
Edit: so far, I can only get psd's into the background list. But there's an additional variable I am missing.
I did import jpg and psd as assets into the project panel. When I dragged them to the library backgrounds
You can also use the "new item" from the library panel drop down. But I don't think that will make any difference on which tab of the library they work with. -
Image not showing in Firefox browser
in IE images is showing okay but in Firefox images are showing like some sort of image icon but not actual image.
Do I need to do some setting in Firefox ?img src="\i\chart.gif"One this that seems wrong is your slashes are leaning the wrong way. Which explains why IE sees them and FF doesn't. IE is tolerant of the backslashes because that's the windoze norm. FF won't do that.
Can you tell me what is i \i\ (How does it gets it
value ? )/i/ is the alias setup in your Apache configuration that points to the images directory on the server.
The #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# or #APPLICATION_IMAGES# substitution strings are generally the accepted way of dealing with files (THMLDB calls them static files) that you upload into the database.

Edited by: Zakir Hossain on Apr 23, 2009 11:19 AMHi here is solution,
later I will put a project for this solution, right now I am really busy with ADF implementation.
core changes is to solve my problem:
byte[] buffer = new byte[image.getBufferSize()];
int nread;
vo.remove();
while ((nread = is.read(buffer)) != -1) {
os.write(buffer);
}All code as below:
Servlet Code*
public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,
HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException,
IOException {
String appModuleName =
"his.model.ModuleAssetMgt";
String appModuleConfig =
"TempModuleAssetMgt";
String imgno = request.getParameter("imgno");
if (imgno == null || imgno.equals(""))
return;
String voQuery =
"select ITEM_IMAGE from MM_ITEMIMAGE where IMAGE_NO = '" + imgno + "'";
String mimeType = "gif";
ApplicationModule am =
Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(appModuleName,
appModuleConfig);
am.clearVOCaches("TempView2", true);
ViewObject vo = null;
String s;
vo = am.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("TempView2", voQuery);
// Run the query
vo.executeQuery();
// Get the result (only the first row is taken into account
Row product = vo.first();
BlobDomain image = null;
// Check if a row has been found
if (product != null) {
// We assume the Blob to be the first a field
image = (BlobDomain)product.getAttribute(0);
// Check if there are more fields returned. If so, the second one
// is considered to hold the mime type
if (product.getAttributeCount() > 1) {
mimeType = (String)product.getAttribute(1);
} else {
LOG.warn("No row found to get image from !!!");
return;
// Set the content-type. Only images are taken into account
response.setContentType("image/" + mimeType);
OutputStream os = response.getOutputStream();
InputStream is = image.getInputStream();
// copy blob to output
byte[] buffer = new byte[image.getBufferSize()];

Another Images not Showing up thread
I know there are multiple threads out there about images not showing up on the login page of application express, and I have browsed most of them without success.
My images folder is in:
C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\Apache\Apache\images\
My dads.conf file has specified:
Alias /i/ "C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\Apache\Apache\images\"
Address of missing image in I.E. is:
http://<host>:7777/i/htmldb/apex_logo.gif
When I ran @apexins I specified /i/ for the virtual images directory.
I am running Oracle Database 10gR2, with Oracle HTTP Server that came with the Oracle Database 10g Companion CD Release 2.
I am using APEX 3.2.
When I try to go to
http://<host>:7777/i/
I get:
You don't have permission to access /i/ on this server.
I also cannot login to APEX. When I type my username/password and click the Login button, it does nothing (nothing loads, nothing changes... nothing happens). I don't know if this is related?
Thank you,
~TomI found the problem -
In my dads.conf file I had:
Alias /i/ "C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\Apache\Apache\images\"
When I really needed:
Alias /i/ "C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\Apache\Apache\images/"
Note the end slash after images changed from backslash to forward.
Silly me. -
Images not showing in the jlabel/jbutton
Hello all,
I've a package in which my cards directory is located along with all my src files and compiled classes. All my images ****.gif files are inside this directory.
Then I've following the icon object.

String imgPath;
imgPath = isImageExists("imgBG1.gif");
if (imgPath == "")
{ // If the image of Card Deck(imgDeck) is not Found
lblDeck = new JLabel();
lblDeck.setBackground(new Color(0, 64, 128));
lblDeck.setOpaque(true);

// If the image of Card Deck is Found
imgDeck = new ImageIcon(imgPath);
lblDeck = new JLabel(imgDeck);
// Check if the image exists else return "";

java.net.URL imgURL = getClass().getResource("cards/" + imgName);
if (imgURL != null)
{ return (imgURL.toString()); }
else
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "File not Found: " + imgURL);
return "";
}I'm still unable to get the image in the jlabel!
When i checked the path, it is exactly returning the path of the file.
But its neither loading the image into the jlabel nor is it returning "".
This is just the label part i've other jbuttons also. Even they are not displaying any images.aLkeshP wrote:

Adobe Reader if always free. Acrobat requires a purchase.
Also Acrobat X has different UI, there is usually a floating toolbar that can be used to open the full toolbar.

I have come across something strange today that I've not seen before. I'm running LR 4.0 under Win7 64-bit. I usually use Photoshop CS6 beta as my external editor, but invoke CS5 when I have to use some tools that don't support the beta. Here is the scenario:
* I have CS5 open
* I externally edit an image in CS5 and Save it from CS5 when I'm done
* The edited image does not show up in LR
* I close LR and reopen it
* There is the edited image!
I have duplicated this many times this evening. I don't think I've seen it when I've used CS6 beta.Something strange is going on because I had the behavior reported of edited image not showing up after using another filter, Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.

Crystal Report Images Not Showing - JSP inside /WEB-INF folder
Hi Experts,
I am using Crystal report for Eclipse and also using Struts2 and tiles framework combination.
The problem is when viewing the report all I've got is red X on all images and the graph image also not showing. This is when I use tiles and my jsp is inside the web-inf folder.
This is my struts link: href="s:url value='/report/reportOpen.action?report=1'
I've checked that the path to the viewer generated HTML is not correct. see code below.
src="../../../crystalreportviewers/js/crviewerinclude.js"
But when I test to access a simple jsp viewer that resides on the web root folder, this works fine but of course this is not what I want to have. I need to have my banner and menus on top of the report page (using tiles)
This is my jsp link: href="s:url value='/ReportViewer.jsp?report=1'
Viewer generated HTML below.
src="crystalreportviewers/js/crviewerinclude.js"
This might be a common problem and that you can share to me your solution.
Note: I removed the script tags because I can't submit this entry.
Thank you in advance,
Regards,

Crystal Report Images Not Showing - JSP inside /WEB-INF folderHi Saravana,
After a few experimentation from your idea i was able to figure out the problem and now it is working.
I don't have to copy the folder to where my jsp resides but still maintains it in the root location: web/crystalreportviewers
The changes should always be in web.xml.
1st: change the crystal_image_uri value to ../crystalreportviewers
2nd: change crystal_image_use_relative value to "web"
Change to "web" instead of webapp because that is what I named my web root folder.
<context-param>
<param-name>crystal_image_uri</param-name>
<param-value>../crystalreportviewers</param-value>
</context-param>
<context-param>
<param-name>crystal_image_use_relative</param-name>
<param-value>web</param-value>
</context-param>
Thank you. You showed me the way on how to solve the 3 day problem.
BTW, my next problem is when clicking on any buttons prev/next/print/export, I got this error HTTP Status 404.
Well, at least for now I can view my initial report. I just need to figure out the next issue and with the help of the great people here in the forum.
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Rulix

Website www.bludot.com is not showing the proper BG image/video on all browsers (Safari, Chrome and all IE versions) but not on Firefox. The code is right, but FF is still pulling old images. The correct image/HTML5 video should be a cake, as displayed on all other browsers.
Firefox 9 is being withheld for Mac users due to unresolved crashing problems.
A test case would be nice and the URL for the website in question, so someone here can experience that problem first hand.
Or, try posting at the Web Development / Standards Evangelism forum at MozillaZine. The helpers over there are more knowledgeable about web page development issues with Firefox. <br />

Spry Bug? Background Colors/Images not showing in IE6/XpP
I'm trying to wrap up my site for MiniMAX SE7EN (Cheap plug,
it's on 6/26 in DC) and I've got a Spry Accordion Component I used
in Dreamweaver CS3 to display all the speakers and then I switched
the CSS file to allow for different colors and a background image
to show through. Seems fine in Firefox and IE7 but in IE6 for PC's,
it appears black and only black. Is this a Spry bug or something I
screwed up with regarding the CSS?
http://www.minimaxconference.com/I am having the same problems in IE7. I'm using the latest
version of everything (Spry 1.6.1 and javascript file version 0.12)
and at first I was having the problem on my drop down menus
appearing horizontal with all the correct styles but when I changed
the rule ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul to position: relative; the drop
downs appear vertical now but I have no beige border around the
whole ul anymore and I'm getting white space inbetween list items.
http://www.wusf.usf.edu/Header_Nav_Footer_newStyleSheet.cfm
so if anyone has any advice I'd much appreciate it. Also i'm
using 1px width on my borders no decimals. -
I used an index template .dwt and inserted a logo header image.
Using Browser lab it renders in Safari but not in Firefox 3.0 for both OS/Windows, IE 7&8, and Chrome.
Using FILE-->VIEW IN BROWSER, which is Safari it is fine.
A friend used FIrefox and IE7 and the image did not show or same results as Browser Lab.
Orginial code: <div class="header"><img src="../pictures/logo_header.jpg : Safari good, other browsers did not show image
2nd try: Code: src="/~sanchezg/pictures/logo_header.jpg", This time Safari did not show header image either.
Location: www.unm.edu/~sanchezg
From PROPERTIES--> SRC --> BROWSE FOR FILE
URL: ../pictures/logo_header_jpg
Relative to: Document : index.dwt
Selecting 'Change default Link Relative To in the site definition:
Default Images folder: /User/xxxxx/Sites/GabeSanchezFIles/Pictures
Links relative to: Document is selected
Web URL: http//www.unm.edu/~sanchezg
What are your thoughts?
Thank youI'm troubled by these answers because they seem to further muddy the water. Here's the important concept -
All links in the TEMPLATE file should be one of three kinds -
1. Relative to the template file, e.g.,
<a href="../ (meaning that you must go up one level from the template folder
to reach the root of the site, hence all other files, since none of them
should be in the templates folder)
2. Relative to the site root, e.g.,
<a href="/ (meaning that one would begin looking for the linked file at the
root of the site and follow the pathing from that point)
3. Absolute, e.g.,
<a href="http:// (meaning that the link is to a page external to the site).
Seems that none of the suggestions are putting you on that path first.
