Images not visable in firefox

Hi all, i'm only new to this but here is the problem that i am having.
I'm using Dreamweaver 8 to design web pages.
When saving an excel spreadsheet with an image on it plus other data as a web page to use in dreamweaver i have the problem that if i preview the page with Internet explorer the image appears but when i preview the page with Firefox the dosen't appear.
Is there something in the coding that i need to do or something else????
Cheers
Forbesy71.

could be that the excel formatting is a special activeX control that is built into Internet Explorer and active in your current system but requires a special Add-On or Plug-In for Firefox in order to view it.  Investigate how the code is structured in your html page (code view) and see if there are any special object tags being used.

  • Background CSS images not loading in firefox when using a CDN

    Hello,
    I am having trouble getting CSS background images to load in Fire fox when using a CDN.
    Here is a description of the problem:
    - Everything works fine in Chrome
    - Any images loaded through CSS do not load in Firefox (they load in chrome) when i have the CDN enabled.
    - Other images / custom fonts appear to load fine with the CDN enabled
    My setup:
    - wordpress 3.8
    - CDN - Rackspace Cloudfiles synced with w3 total cache plugin (using the 'origin push' configuration)
    - using Cloudflare (mozilla appears to load the site fine while cloudflare is active)
    More about the problem--
    I suspect that the problem has something to do with the htaccess file redirecting some urls or something-- but im not quite sure what to do about this.
    Has anyone encountered this problem before who can offer some insight?
    thanks

    Hi pvijeh, is that the explanation for a security error? I'm having trouble understanding the context.

  • HELP! Images not loading and Firefox taskbar icon is a white file.

    I went through all the suggestions in the image not loading help page and same with the add ins and nothing helping. The images load fine on Google Chrome so I know it's not the site. It might just be Adobe Flash images, but that's as far as I know how to pinpoint.
    As far as the task bar goes, it's just a while file icon instead of the Firefox one. It doesn't bother me, but I just thought it might be related.
    I'd appreciate any help! Anybody! Thanks,
    Stef

    What do you see if you right-click the area where such a missing image should be?
    Is that a context menu for images with "View Image Info"?
    Are there any icons on the location bar that plugins are used or mixed content is blocked?
    If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.
    *Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden Menu bar.
    Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
    Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
    *Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
    *If an image in the list is grayed and "<i>Block Images from...</i>" has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.
    Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the <b>permissions.default.image</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page should be 1.
    Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
    Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
    *Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
    Note that these settings affect background images.

  • Image not displaying in firefox, working in Chrome & IE (CSS)

    This is a long shot, and a cross post from stackoverflow, i'm hoping someone can help
    I'm trying to position a temporary 'beta' ribbon image positioned in the top left of a wordpress based site.
    The following code functions as intended in Chrome and IE. In Firefox, nothing is appearing:
    #page-wrapper:before
    width: 50px;
    content: " ";
    background: url(../../wp-content/uploads/2013/09/betaribbon2.png) no-repeat;
    position: absolute;
    height: 50px;
    pointer-events: none;
    Can anyone shed light on what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks,

    the above fragment is correct according to me but just make sure you have got your images enabled on your firefox. please make sure that the path for the image is correct. if the problem continue please be free co contact. :-)

  • Images not Loading in Firefox

    I've got some trouble with loading images since flex 3 (and still with flex4).
    In my app I've got several Image tags meant to display jpeg files as follows:
         <mx:Image x="594" y="40" width="400" height="250" id="img_preview" horizontalAlign="center" autoLoad="false" />
    These images are supposed to load an url on runtime which I get from a dataset by means of an rpc:
         img_preview.load( thumbURL );
    Now the problem is that this works just fine on locally - but when I put the release build (or the debug-build) onto the web,
    I just get the missing image icon. This problem so far seems only to occur in firefox, since for example safari or ie working with
    the exact same file just as intendet.
    Ignoring the fact everything works everywhere else I checked the image urls, response headers for the images when loaded
    directly and so on - but found no errors.
    The images urls are absolute from the same domain as the flash movie and an appropriate crossdomain file exists for other
    reasons as well.
    Searching a little further by means of wireshark and firebug I found the flashplayer not opening any connections to the
    server, allthough I'm not quite sure if it's my inability to find the connection or the flashplayer who just want's to bug me to death.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated since I already lost SO MUCH TIME on this..

  • Why is the logo image not displaying in Firefox?

    The logo image for one of my sites is not displaying. The alt info for the image is being displayed. This is a relatively new problem. In older versions of Firefox the image displayed fine. The image also displays fine in Webkit browsers and IE10. This is a Firefox specific problem. The main URL for the site is: http://sabaki.aisites.com/dbs323/project/masterAi.php
    If you go to that URL in Firefox you'll see "logo gif" split onto two lines and before the "COTin" text. If you view the same URL in Chrome or IE10, you'll see the image. I have screenshots of the problem, but there is no way to include them here.

    Works fine here.
    Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
    *Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
    If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Image not showing in Firefox browser

    in IE images is showing okay but in Firefox images are showing like some sort of image icon but not actual image.
    Do I need to do some setting in Firefox ?

    img src="\i\chart.gif"One this that seems wrong is your slashes are leaning the wrong way. Which explains why IE sees them and FF doesn't. IE is tolerant of the backslashes because that's the windoze norm. FF won't do that.
    Can you tell me what is i \i\ (How does it gets it
    value ? )/i/ is the alias setup in your Apache configuration that points to the images directory on the server.
    The #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# or #APPLICATION_IMAGES# substitution strings are generally the accepted way of dealing with files (THMLDB calls them static files) that you upload into the database.

  • Why is the embeded twitter widget not visable in Firefox, but is viewable in all other browsers?

    This is regarding the code provided by twitter.com for embeding a twitter feed box. Is there a special code extension or modification required for viewing compatibility in Firefox?

  • Images not visable in local photos folders

    I just opened PS touch on my nexus 7 tablet for the first time in a few weeks. I touched on the icon at the bottom of the screen, the one of a picture with a plus sign next to it to open up the jpg images I already saved.
    The list of local folders comes up, and usually I tap on a folder to see thumbs of the images. This time however, most of the thumbs are grey squares with the file names below them.
    I checked in different folders and this seems to be happening in many of them to different extents: some have all or almost all the images grayed out; Some have many images showing.
    What is going on here? How can I get it so I can again see the thumbs of all my images, instead of only a few of them?
    Thanks, David.

    The image files are there, just that most of the thumbnails are missing. I tried the double-tap refresh you described above, but it did not work. In the mean time this is the workaround (a bit time-consuming) I'm using:
    I copy a folder with jpg files to another place on my tablet, rename it (for example, David-photos becomes David-photos-01), then copy that folder back to the Pictures folder. Once I have confirmed that I can view the images in PS, I delete the 'original' file folder and images, so I don't have two copies of them on my device.
    I'm not sure what caused this problem in the first place -- whether something happened with PS Touch or Android, or both?
    Best, David

  • Craigslist captcha image not showing with Firefox 4.

    It was working fine up until about two weeks ago. It works fine in Chrome.

  • FireFox images not loading in local folders (firebug error-Failed to load given URL)

    I am having difficulty when developing websites in local folders (Windows7 computer). The webpages I make are showing images in IE9 & Chrome but not FireFox (nor Safari nor Opera).
    In FireFox I get Firebug "Failed to load given URL" prompt.
    I am using html5 & external linked css stylesheet & the html/html5 & css code validates.
    I have tried using rel path ie images/image.gif & absolute path references ie C:/RPD_Programming/RPD WEB/amwcsnew/index.html
    and have tried using % to eliminate whitespace in references but I cannot get FireFox to display images!!
    This has been a problem for me for around 2 weeks now & is very frustrating. Some website code/templates I have downloaded from the internet display the websites properly (ie load images fine) when I open them locally in FireFox. Why does my code not allow the images to load in FireFox (paths/permissions/other issue??). How can I fix this?
    Here is example css & html5 not displaying images from local directory in FireFox (fine in IE9 & Chrome):

    Is there a FireFox guide/manual in pdf format available anywhere? I have not found one yet & a FireFox reference might be useful!

    You need to use file:// as the protocol instead of C:/. The latter may never work (C:\ might).
    Where is the main HTML located ?
    Easiest if to store the images in a sub folder of the location because you can't go back via ../ beyond that root location for security reasons.

    You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    *Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    *Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    *Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    *Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    *Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    *If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
