Images now locked, says Bridge; won't open photo

I have a fairly new w7 64 bit HP which has been doing fine with Bridge & CS4 until recently. I can load raw photos from SD to a folder on an external HD but when I try to open a photo in Bridge, the computer tells the the photo is Locked. Use Windows Explorer to alter Permissions. In W. Explorer, I've tried to set everything to Allow - but to no avail. Bridge still declares the photos to be Locked.
On a camera list, someone suggested that Version Cue may be interfering. I don't know, I'm the only person who uses the now Bridge-CS4-faulty computer so I don't need fancy protections with arcane switches hard to find.
Is there a direct way to remove the Lock on all photos, on all directories on the external HD? Meanwhile, Bridge and CS4 have become useless.
As might be surmised, I'm not a happy camper.

I should have mentionted that the Lock message was generated by both Bridge and CS4. Apparently, this problem created by the Bridge./CS4 Windows 7 interaction has to do with scratch disks. I've for many years always used an external HD scratch disk - didn't have the Locked problem until Windows 7 running CS4 and its components.
DPREview has a solution that worked when Bridge and when CS4 opened a file that had been locked.

I am having the same problem. I even changed my password and updated all of my security information. Now it just gives me an error and retry message, which of course also does not work. Went to support and was going to open a chat (seemed the simpler option) and received a message that my support has expired for this serial number unless I want to pay $29.00. So I chose the option to call later, which was the exact time suck I was trying to avoid. Why wouldn't the new operating system also update the apps that were already part of my old platform?

I work on a Mac and recently upgraded to Yosemite. I hate it. It is way too slow. Now Bridge won't open my files. I have purged the cache several times and it just gets worse and worse. Any suggestions?

Problem solved. I reset the preferences and it is working better than ever. Must not have Yosemite's fault.

Bridge won't open-mac

I just reinstalled CS3 and Photoshop works fine, but bridge won't open. The icon bounces and the dock indicates it is open and force quit is necessary to clear the dock below the icon but bridge won't come up. I updated when I reinstalled, btw.

Hold down the Option key as you launch Bridge, then click the boxes in the dialog box that appears.
Routine maintenance is imperative.
I still advocate Repairing Permissions (with Apple's Disk Utility) before AND after any system update or upgrade, as well as before AND after installing any software that requires an installer that asks for your password.
I have seen software installations go sour because the installer did not find everything as and where it should be.
I have also seen software installations go bad because the installer did not clean up after itself properly and did not leave everything as and where it should be.
This is just my own personal opinion and practice based on my own observations. Others may disagree and that's OK. I can only base my routines and my advice to others on my own experience and conclusion. I don't pretend to know why others believe otherwise.
Repairing Permissions after the fact (i. e. not immediately before and after an install) seldom helps.; Try it anyway, though.

Additionally, if your machine does not run 24/7 so that it runs the daily, weekly and monthly Cron Scripts in the middle of the night as intended by Apple, run Cocktail (shareware) as well.
Cron Scripts are maintenance routines designed by Apple to run on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in the middle of the night.
If you don't run them, you WILL run into trouble, sooner rather than later.

Are you referring to the Canon EOS 1D Mark III or the Canon EOS 5D Mark III?
And what version of Adobe software are you referring to?
There definitely is support for the EOS 1D Mark III in in versions of the Creative Suite dating back several versions. Support for the EOS 5D Mark III was made available in an update to Creative Suite 6 and Lightroom 4.x.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
