Images on websites are discolored and misplaced

<i>Locking duplicate thread.<br>Please continue here: [[/questions/1056278]]</i>
it happens on somewebsites not all

Hi
Its not a notebook malfunction. There is all ok with the hardware. I assume you have changed something in the IE settings or the images on the websites are really blurred.
You can try to check the settings in the IE option View. Check if the text size is set to medium and the encoding to Unicode (UTF8)
What you can do also to reinstall the IE.

What is the file format of the vector you downloaded?  Custom Shapes have a .PSP extension, and are placed according to this table.
Preference filenames and locations in Photoshop CC
They will then be loadable from the Custom Shapes drop down — click on the cog icon > Load shape > Find your downloaded vector.
Once placed in the image, it will appear as a Shape layer, and can be edited with the Path, and Direct Selection tools (black and white arrows on the toolbar)

  • When I have firefox to remember History to remeber passwords all the images on websites are broken or blocked?

When I have Firefox set to Never remember history all the websites that I visit all have there images & videos working properly but the cons is that I always have to put in my password every time I open firefox up. So to solve this problem I had firefox to "Remember History" in order to remember all my passwords to the websites I visit & it actually worked but this had me faced with an even bigger con because now all the images & videos (Example: You Tube) does not work any more making the option useless to the point that it seems firefox is giving me the ultimatum to either remember my passwords or enjoy the internet. I want to do both so how do I solve this problem?

When you are in PB mode then you can only use the Password Manager to enter an already saved password in a form on a web page and you can't store new names and passwords.
You can only store a new password when you are in normal mode.
In PB mode the disk cache is disabled and you get a different (separate) set of cookies, so if it works in PB mode then either of these are causing this issue.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Websites are working and suddenly it doesn't want to connect.

    Hi,
Since hmmm... I think it was FF 5.0 or 6.0 when this problem appear. Early it was rarely but now it's so often...
When I try to open websites where are images (not always) like youtube, facebook or sites where images are from servers for example imageshack.us
When it happened I can't to connect any website but on other browser I can connect.
Sometimes it works after ~3minutes but most often I have to close that card where it started and restart firefox... :/ It makes me crazy what's going on?! I'm sure on Firefox 4.0 (and earlier) I didn't have this problem.

1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

  • Images on website are layering. I don't get clean page like I do in explorer.

I have a website I visit (codingcertification.org). When I go to the forum now the page is all messed up. This started about 6 or 7 days ago. Now when the page loads it is like it is in layers. Instead of the forum taking up the left side of the page and on the right are other links and pictures of other guests and such, the forum links are layerd over the top of the material on the right so that you can hardly see what's supposed to be on the right. This layered mess does not happen if I use explorer. I like Firefox and don't want to have to use explorer just to go to this website. I've tried clearing my cookies, cache, monkeyed with Javascript settings and I don't know what else. Started Firefox in safe mode and still same issue.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
    *<b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":

  • Half of websites are working and half are not.. HELP ME,PLEASE!!!!

This drives me crazy, I have a powerbookG4 with OS X 10.4.8 and use the internet without any problem until this morning, well actually when I figure out that I can go my school website or wikipedia, or hotmail and google, amazon but no access to any other website such as yahoo, or ebay. There is no relevance that I can find why some website is working while the others are not. I tried Safari, FireFox and Explorer, and it is the same thing. Yahoo and some other website simply don't open at all, and says that I am not connected to internet(safari) or firefox can't find the server.(and half of the website is always perfectly working)
I don't know what to do, I emptied cookies and caches in no vain....
Can anybody know what this is all about and help me out, please?????

create a new user on you computer.
    - system preferences, accounts
    - click on Plus sign,
    - log out of current user, ( apple menu, bottome option )
    - log into new user
    - test out internet usage on new user
: if issue is resolved in new user, then the problem is likely some preference file in the original user
: if the issue persists in a new user, i would try to connect to the internet from a different location .
: it is possible the ports are being blocked or filtered, or the DNS is not functioning properly

  • Help!  Images in Aperture are dark and oversaturated...

I just got a new MacBook Pro, so I decided to download the Aperture demo to give it a try. I have been working with Lightroom and wanted to compare the two.
So I imported my first folder of images from some conference events I shot. My first impression was that images appeared a bit dark, contrasty and oversaturated, but I figured that was probably a result of underexposure, since I didn't have a lot of light to work with, or possibly from working with flash in dark rooms.
I went through and opened up all the photos and pulled-down highlights and did color-correction (flesh tones were a bit red). Then I uploaded photos to SmugMug... imagine my surprise to see everything appear flat and light and undersaturated. I couldn't figure it out... I looked through Aperture for possible explanations... proofing wasn't on so that wasn't it. Exported images were given sRGB profile (as opposed to Adobe RGB). I checked them in both Safari and Firefox... same results. Then I went back to the originals and opened them in Preview... they were lighter and less-contrasty than Aperture showed them to be. They looked like they should have looked. (By the way, I am working with JPEGs taken in the sRGB color space.)
So what happened in Aperture? Did something happen on import? I have searched all over the internet and can't seem to find anyone else having this same problem.
    Help!
    -Erin

Okay, may have posted prematurely... images look the same in Aperture as they do in Photoshop and Lightroom. So it is something weird with how they display in Preview and online...
Grrrr! I hate this color management crap!

  • My photos has hundreds of garbage images.  They are gfx and 'Resources'.  How did they get there and how can I get rid of them?

This is an example of 1.
    this is another.
They will not delete.  Thank you.

Where are you seeing these images?

  • Certain websites are garbled but are OK in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer

Some websites are garbled and hard to read. The same websites are displayed correctly with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and the Opera Browser
Just open the URL below and the problem will be very evident

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.

  • Firefox is failing to display many (but not all) images on websites that I visit, some images are shown and some are not even if they are in the same format.

I recently changed my ISP because I was having connectivity issues. In particular my router would shut down sporadically. As part of my attempt to clear issues I ran some spyware software which I've been told I could trust. Since then I have a problem viewing many websites as many (but not all) of the images are missing, even on websites that I know very well, including my own. What is very strange is that on one site every page has a jpg image under the navigation bar and all of these jpg's appear except one which doesn't appear even when I reload images. This problem also makes security sensitive sites like my bank site look very amateur which frightens me. The problem does not occur on other web browsers.

Which ''spyware software'' software did you run?

*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

  • Websites are formatted incorrectly and links won't work, since last update

Since I installed the latest updates for firefox certain websites such as : http://www.escapistmagazine.com/ and hotmail , are incorrectly formatted and the links on the pages don't work. I can load my inbox on hotmail but the links to the emails don't work ie. you click on it and nothing happens. On the Escapist many of the links don't match the boxes they should be in, sections of the page are in the wrong place with images not loading, and many of the links don't load the right page, if anything at all.
I've tried to use the report broken website function but this gets stuck on sending report and if you click submit report again it shows the details etc as being blank.
I've tried restoring FF to defaults and also reinstalling it with no success. I know the website are okay as IE loads them correctly.
    any help appreciated

    Hi Rick,
Interesting thread on Quark's forums. Mark Douma posts here, too. Very knowledgeable with the how fonts work in direct relation to the OS.
I just opened a bunch of OpenType fonts and launched Quark. No problems. But as Mark noted, you'll see the bug pop up after a restart and then try to open the document that uses the OpenType fonts.
However, I created a simple document using a half dozen different OpenType fonts and saved it to the desktop. Going by Mark's assumption about the cache files, I shut down my Mac and turned it back on. Essentially the same as turning it on the next day. Per his thoughts, I left the font cache files alone, activated the fonts again in Suitcase Fusion and launched Quark 6.52 by double clicking the document I had just created. Quark and the document opened without a hitch.
Per Mark's post at Quark's forums, Quark should have crashed since I'm doing this all under 10.4.10. That tells me that while the font cache files are the problem for those who need to keep clearing the cache files to get OpenType fonts to work each day, it's not due to OS 10.4.6+. Since I'm having no issues (and never have), I would have to believe it's more likely to be a damaged OS that's causing the problems. If the OS is damaged, then the likelihood that it will in turn write damaged cache files is high.
Or, Quark is damaged. It writes its own font cache files in the /Applications/QuarkXPress 6.0/jaws/ttfont/ folder. If you cleared only those cache files out and relaunched Quark, it might work without clearing the system cache files. That would tell you for sure that Quark needs to be reinstalled rather than the OS.
