the only show as an attachment

Hi,
what you are seeing is just the way the message is displayed for you on your Mac. There's no difference in sending (an receiving) the mail whether you used icon view or the full preview while composing the message. Even though you might have set it to show the image directly as a full preview while composing, the receiver's mail client might be set up to always show attachments as icons and not inline.
To switch the view for you while composing simply right-click on the image, pdf, etc. and select *View as Icon* or *View in Place*.
It's one of Mail's annoyances that there's no option to always use one specific view mode. It automatitcally decides what to do. That is, everything is shown +in place+ unless it reaches a certain file size or is a multi-page document (pdf).

I compose a similar email with multiple inline images, but attach a PDF. This time all of the attachments (images and PDF) appear at the end of the message when viewed in Outlook.

I repeat the above from a Gmail account via Safari and I can make an email with inline images and PDF attachments and it works.
Any thoughts, tips, bug reports, etc appreciated.

My problem was solved by installing Attachment Tamer.
It could also have been solved by emailing from Gmail directly.
The guys I work with use Outlook and were suprised to see this behaviour.
It's only basic OS X email that has a problem.
I wholeheartedly agree that the standard for emails are not conducive for rich layout control.
But - when my email just has images I had no problems. Take for example the email notifications we're getting from this thread - there are images and layout etc and work fine.
The key feature from Attachment Tamer hints at the problem (and its solution):
send images embedded in HTML layout and safely mix embedded images with other attachments;

Image preview does not appear anymore

For a while now every time I click on an image in the Google image result page it doesn't open the image previewer anymore, but instead takes me directly to the website where the image is from and there I have to actually search for said image. Sometimes that image is not even visible or available anymore on the website, despite the fact that it showed up during my Google image search.
How do I get the previewer to work again?

I just tried this with the requested desktop site on an android device, and with a mobile version of Google Image Search. Both give a view of the image with a black background.

When I right click on a page to send the page link to someone the link's not inserted in the mail page.

Not really anything more to add to the problem. It's just that simple. Right click on page, choose 'send link' and the mail page that comes up (in Thunderbird) doesn't contain the link as it always did in previous versions. I have to copy and paste the link which makes the right click useless.

You can middle-click a link to open the link in a new tab.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Photoshop save as default is PDF not PSD anymore. How can I get the default back to PSD?

Since a few weeks ago photoshop insists on saving all my files as a PDF. New images, ols images even original PSD files.

Ctrl/Cmd click your preferred option in the Save As pull down list. Photoshop will default to that format from that point

IWeb-Images are just not there anymore

My website images are not loading at all. As of a few days ago they just started having trouble. I have had this website for 2 years and i upgraded iLife a month ago. But now the images on my website just won't load. i'm a photographer... how can i work if my images won't show?

PDF Not loading anymore on Flex Air Application

Ever since I updated my Adobe Readed to Version 11, I can't view any PDF on my Flex Air Application anymore. Is there anything i need to do?

Yes. This is a well known bug in Air/Google Maps. A lot of folks reported it on the Google Maps forums and here. It was reported over a year ago with no action yet. Major show stopper.
For this main reason, I switched to the http://developer.mapquest.com AS3 API. Plus they also recently released a Mobile Flash API that works great.
I suggest you check it out because I don't anticipate any action on this issue on either side any time soon.

Saving a Mac Word file by printing to PDF not possible anymore

I have a old version of Office v.X for Mac that will no longer allow me to save files by printing them as save to PDF. I think the problem occured when I switched to Mac OS X 10.6.8. Does anyone know what the problem maybe and how I can fix it?

Try opening up Font Book from the Applications folder. From there highlight all the fonts and try to validate them. Remove any duplicates as well.

"View in Place" inline images and PDFs in Yosemite Mail

I'd like to have the "View in Place" option available for images and PDFs, but it appears to be missing in Yosemite Mail. It would be particularly helpful with this new Markup feature. Any ideas how I might do this?

When I drag a PDF or an image (TIFF, JPEG, etc.) into the body of an Apple Mail message, I see an icon of that file.
There used to be a contextual menu option to "View as Icon" or "View as Image" in previous iterations of Mail, but now with Yosemite, I am only able to send the message with the image or PDF file viewed as an icon. As a comparison, when Composing a message in the Gmail desktop web interface, you can click on the Insert Image Icon, and you are given the option to insert the image "Inline" or "As attachment." I like having both options and I wonder if there is a Terminal command or third-party solution to restore this functionality.

How to insert dummy image into PDF

I am trying to insert signatures into our Custom Purchase Order that I am building in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro. I can find plenty of documentation on how to do this via an RTF in Word Template Builder, but nothing on inserting the dummy image. Currently, we are using Sigfile field in report with a URL link to the jpeg of the signature, at runtime, only the link shows up on the PDF not the picture of the signature, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think what you are asking for is something similiar I have done for a check printing report where you have a voided image of a signature, then place the real signature at run time.
So insert the dummy image into your RTF. Have the path to the real image in the XML file, and then in the properties for the image, there is a Web tab. Put the following there:
url:{CP_SIGNIMAGEPATH}
Where CP_SIGNIMAGEPATH is the path to the image.

Photoshop to pdf creates text and images that are not sharp. Why?

I know that Photoshop is not the premier pdf creation software. I do have InDesign as well, but I'm much more familiar and comfortable with Photoshop (I have the CC versions of both) so I prefer to use it as my design and layout tool.
However, when I save as a pdf the resultant pdf file is blurry for images and text, not horribly so, but not sharp and clear as I would like. My pdf files are for the web and emailing so I need to keep the file size in check, but even when I up the PS resolution to 300psi it still is not as clear as I would like. Still blurry.
What do you Photoshop experts out there do to produce the sharpest pdf possible? Is it even possible using Photoshop only or do you have to use InDesign or Acrobat Pro to get the clarity and shapness?

It works, sort of. But the results will never be as good. And you wouldn't want to use the screwdriver with nails, either. There are two different tool (programs) for a reason, and I think once you learn InDesign, you will find it to be a much better layout tool than Photoshop.

Mail window does not close anymore

When I press the red dot or type CMD-W, the mail window does not close anymore. It just stays open, everything else works as usual. Any ideas, how to close the window again?

Look at the bottom frame of the Mail window; it may display a small dot thingie in the middle of its bar, something like this -
If so, try clicking on that dot and dragging upward.
If that works, you should have both panes present again. You can adjust the size of the window as a whole by dragging the bottom-right corner (where the hash marks are).
