Images out of wack...

Hey there.
I'ver just posted my website of my recent trip - done entirely with iWeb.
The problem is that a lot of the images are not in their correct spots...
Any suggestions?
To place the images on the site - I just dragged & dropped them from the media thingy..
The pages look fine in iWeb

Uh-oh. I think this is your problem.... You should consider using separate text boxes for each section of text. Then you can intersperse your photos BETWEEN text boxes. The other option is to actually place your photos INLINE into the text boxes so that your text flows around them (sort of). But judging by the way you have things set up with captions for your photos and such, the first method of using separate textboxes seems to have your name written all over it.
You see, the problem here is that a text box is just reserved space for the browser to lay down text any way it fits. So there is a lot of variation to the way text is rendered depending on the font you are using and the spacing, etc. The only real control you have over it is to define the boundaries....which would be the size of the textbox. The way you have it now, your photos are floating there in a separate layer above the text. The photos are probably exactly where you put them, but the flowing text underneath is being rendered differently. This text rendering allows for very quick loading times.
If you want a very quick workaround solution for your web pages...maybe while you go back and fix things on your own time... you can temporize by forcing iWeb to render your text as graphics. Just select your text box, then do an Apple-A to select all of your text, then use the Inspector to add a minimal drop shadow to your text. Now republish and see what happens! Your pages may load slower with that big graphic in there, but you should see a much closer representation of what you see inside iWeb.

IMAQ image out- what's the best way?

I'm developing an interface to acquire a square image from an NI-DAQmx PCI 6221 on LabVIEW 7.0 and Windows XP. At present I am simply collecting my information from a physical sine wave generator on the bench, but eventually this will be used to process images from a CARS microscope.
My problem is that I am trying to figure out a user-friendly way of "buffering" all previously acquired images in the session, and then choosing one several of them to save as an uncompressed BMP. At the moment I am using two image displays; one for the whole image overview (picture indicator) and one to pan around and zoom on fine details (IMAQ image indicator). The IMAQ image indicator is also outputting to an IMAQ browser window, which I have modified based on the Browser Example.vi which ships with LV. However, there are several difficulties with this method.
Firstly, I'm not sure how to select an indexed image from the browser itself to save; the only way I can think of would end up wiring the IMAQ image out to the BMP writing VI, but that would only save the current image, and not necessarily the one the user wants.
Secondly, I haven't quite got the hang of combining case structures, event structures and while loops yet, so there's a very specific order things have to be done in or the program hangs, (e.g.. you must press the buttons: Acquisition - Unlock Browser - Stop in that order, nothing else works properly), and I'm pretty sure I've set the browser up wrong because every time I finish with the acquisition window, an error message appears.
Thirdly, it would be nice if I could hide the browser window until I've finished with the other window, but I can't seem to get IMAQ windshow to do that. I have boolean constants wired to Hide/Show and Set/Get but no matter what combination of false and true I use, the window appears anyway.
I will attach the VI and subVIs to this post in a zipped folder, and would appreciate any help you could give me. General constructive criticism on my wiring, methods, Rude Goldbergs, etc, would also be appreciated if anyone has the time, as I'm still pretty new to LabVIEW.

DH is right about the difficulty in removing wind noise, but hoping it might prove useful, here is a hint I copied from a thread somewhere in this discussion list.
How to export audio from Final Cut Express to (free) Audacity and back again after noise removal.
1) download Audacity
2) in fce timeline, place in and out points at beginning and end of audio
3) select that audio clip, and that clip only
4)file-export-using quicktime conversion, in the pop-up box format as aiff, 44.1kwh 16bit stereo
5)open audacity, make sure box in bottom left corner says 44100
6)file-import-audio
7)go to file and select it, click choose
8) select part of audio with just wind noise, then go to effects noise removal, click get noise profile etc.
9)when satisfied, click file-export, click ok, close audacity
10)Open fce, drag your audio clip to the right hand end of clip. Move playhead to the in marking. Go to File-import
select your audio file, choose.
11) file appears in fce browser. Drag from there to overwrite and the audio goes into the track, perfectly synced
My apologies to whoever posted this hint, I tried to find the name to give credit. This really does work to get rid of room hum, but wind noise is a really different beast and this may not help. I suspect, as DH says, it will remove too much of the audio you want to keep. Hugh

Aspect ratio out of wack on TV

When im watching movies ect on my TV from my ipod it seems abnout 50% of the videos are out of wack for exp, il be watching the video "One man band" it would only display "e man ba" on the title menu. The Same with caption when switching from dif scenes in BattleStar Galictica it would be a 2 setence caption on the bottom of the screen but it would only display 1 setence.
The Tv we have been watching these on has been a 42inch HDTV widescreen. Now on this TV ive tryed every possible dif display combo and ive also tryed all 3 dif video options on the ipod itself with no luck.
Also can someone PLEASE give me apples support phone # ive looked for it everywere and i just want to talk with a person rather then makeing a post =p.

Widescreen should be optional, but if your using HDTV you may prefer to set for Widescreen.

Pulling images out of an iDVD slideshow

Stemming from another question I posted on the Powerbook G4 board, I have a question regarding an iDVD slideshow.
My Powerbook's hard drive, I have a sinking feeling, is dead. My iDisk was full and I was getting ready to buy more storage space when the crash happened. I'd just created and burned a slideshow of pictures from a trip to Austria ... is there a way to grab the individual images out of the iDVD slideshow and get them back as individual photos once my computer is repaired.
FYI, I'm looking into data recovery companies, but I'm not holding out much hope.
Please ... your insights are greatly appreciated.

iDVD has an option to add the original pictures to the DVD in the "DVD ROM" area. You can determine if it's there by inserting the DVD in a computer and quitting out of the Player application. Double-click the disc icon and look in the folders -- hopefully you'll find more than two folders and the third one will be labeled something like "DVD-ROM."
As SD says, your other options aren't so great. The slideshow on DVD is a compressed video file (mpeg-2 format) so you'd be uncompressing the video and then extracting a frame. You might check Graphic Converter and Photoshop to see if they can extract a frame without the conversion process.
I don't know if a screen capture would be better... thinking if you had a very large screen, then you'd wind up with a larger-sized screen capture (more pixels).
I assume the pictures were digital and you erased the memory card? There should be software to recover files from the memory card.

Dragging Images Out Of Aperture 3 Halves Resolution?

When I drag my images out of Aperture 3 into Photoshop or onto my desktop, it halves the resolution and drops the dpi to 72. If I put the image back in Aperture and repeat the process, the resolution halves again. Any idea as to why?

You could set up Aperture to use Photoshop as external Editor:
Just set the external Editor to "Photoshop" in Preferences > Export > External Editor.
Then you just need to right-click the images in Aperture and select "Edit with Photoshop" from teh contextual menu.
And the edited image will be recognized by Aperture as a version of the Image in Aperture.

Retrieve image out of Photoshop file

Can anyone help me! I need to pull an image out of a photoshop file I made, I added the image in (jpeg) and have saved the file but did not save the original jpeg that i used, now I cant work out how to get the image out of photoshop so I can use it in another program, any ideas from all of you photoshop genius's

If the image file is a PSD file and the JPG image was placed in as a Smart Object, the very reasonably priced Elements+ add-in (http://elementsplus.net/) can extract the JPG.

How to get image out from LONG RAW from the database

Dear fellow Oracle users
I have a table about 50,000 rows one of the the column is LONG RAW.. and we store image files within this column ... almost 99% is gif format.
Does anyone able to recommand a way to get ALL these images out of the database and save it into a directory. May be a batch process or may be some kind of tools?
Not all the rows consists of images (i.e some of the the long raw can be null for some row) .
Any sample codes are very much appreciated...(I am okay with PL/SQL , a little rusty with Java coding but okay to pick it up again...)

Playlists out of wack

So many of my playlists are out of order on my phone. Its so annoying. I listent to a lot of mixed CD's. They are all organized in order and play fine on my computer but are all out of wack on my phone. Anyone know what the deal is?
Match on the iphone is so confusing. Really frustrating. Apple makes things so confusing. Dont even get me started on Lion. haha

Sounds like you have corrupt program files or something. You may have to manually go thru, figure out whats missing and add it again. What I would recommend doing first is scanning the whole system with your aqntivirus AND scanning with a malware (Ad ware and spyware) Program like Ewido http://www.ewido.com
After that uninstall iTUnes AND quicktime from control panel>add and remove. Doing this will not make you loose any music. Then disable your antivirus and download/install the latest verion of iTUnes from apple.com
If your harddrive crashed, where did you get all your music back from? A backup or off your ipod?

How can I export images out of LR3.5 and have the file numbers watermarked on them?

Ladies & Gents,
I'm trying to export a large number of images out of LR3.5 and want to show a unique reference number on each one as a watermark, so that customers can easily state which photo they're interested in. I can't find anything on the export settings of the software with the exception of copyright symbols etc, but this just puts the same watermark on each photo and I want to number them individually and make it easy for the customer to identify an image.
I'm guessing there will be a 'plug in' to do this and I don't mind paying for it, I would just rather do everything in LR and not have to then use a second piece of software and re-export all the images for a second time.
One last thing..... I'm thinking of upgrading to LR4 in the near future and so I would like to be able to use any suggestions on that platform as well (if possible)

Order out of wack for sub pages

^ This is a matter of opinion and usage...
Jennifer, first of all, it sounds like you may have turned on the pref to only have text wrap affect objects underneath. IMHO, that's bad because as a general rule you always want text as the topmost layer so that any transparency effects (eg drop shadows) you apply to graphics tinker with the text as little as possible during flattening/printing. Once you've unchecked that pref, it won't matter if the graphic is underneath or not.
(And if you need a text box not to wrap around a graphic, select the text box and check the "Ignore Wrap" attribute in the attributes panel.)
Additionally, I think Sandee would chime in and say that you really shouldn't be using text boxes on master pages at all if you can avoid it. Set up your margins to the exact size you want the text box to flow into and just place text to the margins instead.

Taking a certain image out of a picture

I'm trying to take a particular image out of my picture to use as a logo and be able to put it on business materials. I'm not having any luck with it. Can someone tell me how to do this, PLEASE. Thanks!

Open a blank file with same resolution as the object, go to Edit>paste. Save this as a JPEG. You can then insert this in WORD for your flyers, business cards, etc.
For the web site, you will need to save it with a transparent background. Go to File>save for web and save as PNG24.
If you have a problem, please post the picture and indicate what you want to extract, so that we may provide additional targeted guidance.

is there any way to pull an image out of an .fla file to edit
in photoshop? I need a logo out of a file but I cant find the fonts

the Image out seems show the Thresholded picture ...
I want them to show How their Pattern Matched the object and also the Centroid of the object instead

Why do you want them saved in LV 7.1? Are you trying to help answer the question?
They are saved in LV8.2.1 which means the original poster would have to save them back by 2 versions (they would need LV8.0 to do that). Considering they are obviously a newer user to the forums (first logging in in Dec 2009), they probably are not a long time LV user who would have version 8.0
If you only have version 7.1, you aren't going to be able to help very many people on the forums.

Make a 2D-image out a 3D-Image

For a project i need to make a 2D image out a 3D image, which needs to be a intersection of 3D by XY with Z is variable for making the image.
We already have a made a program which can read a STL file and see a 3D-picture of it, but we don't know how we kan make a 2D picture of.
