Images scalled down inside Muse import for a second time at the same size, why?
OK, I've imported an image at say 1600px wide. Inside Muse I scale it down to 400px.
Say I want to duplicate that image and use it at 600px wide, you would expect Muse to allow me to size it back up but it becomes pixellated (So I assume that Muse optimizes and resizes on the fly).
So I then re-imported the 1600px wide image but it comes in at the 400px wide.
So then I tried to drag the image from my desktop onto the page and the same thing happened, i.e it came in at 400px wide
Do I really have to create the image at all the different sizes and save as separate files? OR, is there a way to override or stop this from happening?
Any advise would be really helpful

Have you tried right clicking the image instance in the Assets panel and choosing Import Larger Size as in the screenshot below? It is available when you are working with a downsampled (scaled down) version of an otherwise larger image which has lost its pixel data and is getting pixelated upon rescaling up.

How to resize watermark to be the same size for vertical/horizontal images?
I am using File -> Place menu to place my watermark onto the images.
No matter what I try so far, the absolute size of the watermark comes out different Portrait/Landscape images.
Watermark is smaller on Portrait and larger on Landscape images. I tried resizing writing in the number of pixels during the File->place command, but no luck. Photoshop resizes the watermark based on the percentages, and I don't know why image orientation matters.

I am having a problem importing my images into Aperture 3 from my Nikon D800E. The images appear as if red paint was splashed across the sky. The Nikon software used to transfer from the camera does not show this problem and Photoshop 6 is fine with the images exported as jpg from the Nikon software. Aperature does not even like the jpg images usable by Photoshop. I am suspecting that Aperture is not correctly using the camera raw file. Also, the histograms are radically different between the corrupted images and the Photoshop (good) versions. Aperture worked just fine for me in June with the same camera. All drivers and software are current as of this posting. Anyone else out there seen this before??
Are you sure you do not have Highlight Hot & Cold Areas turned on? (View->Highlight Hot & Cold Areas)?
The bug in Digital Camera raw only affected Raw images. In your first post you wrote:
Aperature does not even like the jpg images usable by Photoshop
If the JPG's have the same problem then it isn't this bug.

I use a mac ios and shoot raw in a cannon 5d mark ii and shortly upon import of my images lightroom darkens and changes my images. This has happened before but not every time. The strange part is my last shoot had the same camera setting but this did not happen. The images i have now i can not use after lightroom has automatically altered them even if i try editing back to how they looked upon import
First thing to do is to change the default camera profile applied in Lightroom to camera standard (assuming that you shoot Canon or Nikon). Also make sure that your camera is NOT set up to use any of the HDR modes. Nikon calls those Active Dynamic Lighting. On Canons you often see things like highlight priority mode or "Auto Lighting Optimizer". Make sure that the picture style is set to standard and that for newer Canons the HDR mode is turned off. Most of the HDR modes simply underexpose the image and then add an instruction in the raw file to compensate for this to prevent highlights from being blown out. This causes more noise in the shadows and if you know what you are doing there is no point to this as you should simply expose correctly and get the highest quality raw.
Lastly, make sure that in Lightroom you have not checked "Apply Auto Tone Adjustments" in Preferences->Presets. This should make the default rendering of the raw files the same as the in-camera jpeg (what the camera shows on the back even if you shoot raw) but still give you all the latitude of raw files. -

My iphone 4 locked up for several hours. i then tried to reset by holding down the home button and power button at the same time for 10 seconds and then the home button for 10 seconds. it is now completely black. what do i do? couldnt restore it in iTunes. Has anyone had this problem? Help!
Same thing happened to me today. I wasn't even using the phone for the past 6 hours and suddenly I can't connect to the internet, none of my internet apps would work - nothing. I tried to call AT&T from the iphone and it locked up - couldn't turn it off, change to the home screen - nada - brick.
Did the Home/Power button thing and that worked but this I've only had this phone for about 4 weeks and it's locked up more times than my 3GS did the whole two years I had it! Ridiculous -

Failure to down load CC Acrobat DC Pro for a second time after having to perform a system recovery.
The previous 'DC Pro' is not showing as not being an installed program.
When trying to perform the update again an error shows in the Creative Cloud window 'the download appears corrupt please try again in a few minutes(26).
Trying again both in a few minutes and after a restart the same error message shows again.
What next?check the dl'd file size vs expected file size to see if you're getting a completed download.
also, you can try a different browser and/or different wired connection and/or a download manager. -
How do you use your pictures for web, iPad & smartphones? All the same size??
i realy think back and froth about this question.
i guess it makes sense - to use all the same size - because newest Ipads and Iphones are with retina-screens !??
on the other hand i use background-pictures for the website with a lenght of 1800px (it's 400 kbit) so it may slow down my the mobile version
but i know , people always scroll and zoom into evrything with an Ipad and smartphone ... So what to do? What is your hint ?

Buttons become the same size as my image?? PLEASE HELP

My problem is that the buttons i have in the code come up as the same size as the 'Goldsmiths' Image. How can i alter the provided code to make the image stay the same size and the buttons to have the default button size?

Adjusting multiple images to be the same size?
Hi,
I'm trying to create a photo collage in Photoshop that consist of multiple photos imported as Smart Objects into layers, that are all the same size. Ideally, I'd like to be able size/crop/scale each image as a group, or individually, on the fly. So lets say that I have 6 images as Smart Objects on layers, and that they are all of varying sizes, and I'd like to adjust each image to be the same precise size, 2" x 3". Maybe later I decide that they should all be 2.5" x 3."5, can I easily change all 6 images at once? I've tried going into Free Transform and changing the size of each individual image here, but I can't get the precise size that I want. Is there a way that I can open a dialog box, and specify the exact size? Can I then repeat this for all images/layers that I've selected?
I hope this makes sense, and that someone has a brilliant idea on how to do this?

Photoshop has the option to create a contact sheet. So imagine that I want to create a contact sheet of images, but keep them on separate layers, and be able to change the size of the images as I feel, to fit my collage. -
How do I design my posters on Photoshop touch for ipad, to be A0 and export them to creative cloud at the same size???

Please helpA0 is pretty big if you go at a high DPI for printing. It's about 10000 x 14000 pixels at 300 DPI.
PS Touch can handle about 12 Megapixel image imports (which is about 4000 x 3000 pixels). PS Touch, interestingly, can create 4096 x 4096 pixel projects from scratch.
Adding to that, PS Touch always exports at 72 DPI. Take note that this is probably due to tablet hardware. Tablet hardware is "getting there" but it still has a ways to go before it matches its desktop cousin. -

Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads

The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these). Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above. As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library. -
Resizing images on two layers to the same size?
OK, it's kind of difficult to explain but what I am trying to do is create posters in pages and I am pasting photographs in there from different layers of the same photo and then resizing them. But the trouble is getting both to the same size, is there an autosnap feature for this or something?
I find it kind of irksome when I create an image and resize it to a specific dimension in preview then copy+paste it into a Pages document of the same dimensions and it resizes it smaller.
How do I get it to the same size without manually dragging the corners with my mouse?
Does that question make sense? Can anyone help?Actually I just found a neat way to do it in GIMP (great peice of software BTW) the question remains of how to resize it in Pages...

How do I make selective screenshot images in cells the same size?
I am putting together a spreadsheet to list the purchasing options for our company from some of the Mac mini models but have a problem with image sizes in spreadsheet cells.
First I took screenshots of each of the price and spec panels of the self-configured options I was interested in recommending using CmdCtrl+Shift4 to save the screenshot to the clipboard. Next, I highlighted the cell into which the image was destined to go and clicked Cmd+V and the image appeared in the cell (as an image fill for background colour). I repeated this process for six different Mac minis, being careful to start and finish the crosshairs in exactly the same place for each option. Each of these images had been lifted from a separate Tab in Safari 4.0.5 and appeared to be identically sized.
The problem is, when placed in the spreadsheet cell grid, each image was either higher or lower than the one next to it, yet all cells were the exact same size. Some images appeared to be centred in the cell, others appeared to be top aligned.
Can anyone help me to understand why this happens, and to give a suggestion on how to avoid it in the future?
TIAOK, my mistake! The images were not the same size because the specs were different for each one, meaning that the info boxes were of different heights. When I copied them again, using the coordinates to ensure the screenshots were exactly the same size this time (rather than adding on a fixed width to the outside of the boxes) the problem was solved.
Sometimes it's the user not the tools that has the problem!
Having said that, it would be useful if the images were not background fills, but images that you could highlight because that would show quite quickly the size of each one - and allow you to add a background colour to a column to indicate a category type.
