Images shift when jumping to anchors

I have a file using manual menus connected to anchors. In the browser when I click on any menu item one of my images shifts. It's a patterned wall paper that must meet fairly close to look right. The shift of about 3/8" spoils the effect. I've deleted and reset the anchors but the shift persists. This errors previousy didn't occur in this file. I've made some change it seems which has created this shift. I deleted my broswer cache hoping that  might fix the problem but it didn't help. I've checked where my images are pinned to and how they are set to fit in their space and it appears correct.(I am using tiling) As an aside I've begun to wonder if anchors are really a work in progress, I've noticed other issues with them that didn't seem to make sense.

Aish,
I'm not able to provide a URL. All access to the site is under an NDA and
is hosted on a private server with encrypted access other than my local
machine. If you could tell me if this is a known issue then I can hand it
off to one of their developers to look into, It would be helpful to have
some ideas about what component could be the issue and if its possible to
get access to fix it?
I don't know the steps I took that created the error. The file did work but
began appearing I believe after I began fine tuning the anchors and moving
some of the content. That's all I know. As I mentioned it all looks
correct. The settings match another copy of this same file I have. The copy
with my new edits has this error of shifting images and at the level I am
able to understand it all appears correct.
Cordially,

  • Image Shifts When Using Shared Printer

    OS 10.6.8
    Acrobat Pro 9.5.1
    Printer: Canon Pixma 4800 ip4800
    As far as I know, all drivers are up to date.
    Printer is connected to an iMac and is set to allow sharing.
    When printing a .pdf from another Mac (wirelessly via AirPort), the image is shifted slightly (approx 3/8") to the right and down on the printed sheet, cropping content.
    All other remote printing is OK (including from other Adobe CS5 applications). I can also remote print the .pdf correctly using Apple's Preview application. Printing is also OK if printed from the iMac that the printer is connected to. Only time there is an issue is: Shared printing a .pdf using Acrobat.

    Dear Larry,
    Thanks for reporting the problem. You mentioned that page content is getting shifted by around 3/8 inches when printed using Mac Airprint using Acrobat which resulted in clipping of some of the content and other applications print fine.
    Could you please pass on the same pdf to me as well? Although, it doesnot look dependent on any particular pdf but I would like to analyze certain behavior with the pdf you are using.
    Please also confirm that you have not printed with "None" pagescaling option when you observed this.

  • Part of image shifts when inserting footer

    Okay, when I go to insert a footer into a document, a portion - not all - of that document shifts.  The document is an exported pdf from ArcMap which contains several thousand elements.  All elements appear to remain in their original position with a single class of elements shifting by between 0.1 and 0.2" towards the bottom of the document.
    I have never had this happen before when using Adobe 7.x, but now that I am using Adobe Acrobat X standard, this problem suddenly crops up.
    Any help would be amazing as I am at my witts end...

    Stop doing that. There is never a valid reason in a properly
    designed/constructed page to add empty paragraphs.
    Probably... after adding content, even empty paragraphs, the
    display window
    in DW design view drops a vertical scroll bar thereby
    changing the
    horizontal location of the page's middle. Your bg image is
    aligned middle so
    it moves.
    IOW there is no problem. Just build your page.

  • 3D Images Shift When Merged Together

    Everytime I attempt to merge two 3D images, they will shift position. I really think this is a bug, and would hope that you have a solution! Thanks, Weewood

    How do you render them? I've only seen this with the live renderer, but if you initiate a final render for output everything should work properly.

  • Is there a Preserve Image Dimension when Relinking Setting in Framemaker 9?

    Hi,
    I am using Framemaker 9 (structured Frame) and would like to know if there is a setting (similar to InDesign) that preserves image dimensions when relinking. In InDesign, you can turn this setting off so that the updated linked graphic will not scale or move in the document. Does Framemaker have a similar setting? We use Illustrator CS3 to create graphics. These graphics are then saved to Adobe Acrobat X Pro PDF files. I Import by Reference the PDF file using the Grahic element in Structured Framemaker. If I make any changes to the graphic file in Illustrator, the graphic that was imported into the Framemaker document shifts inside the anchored frame and then I have to recenter all the updated graphics in Framemaker. Is there a setting in Framemaker that will allow me to update a graphic file in Illustrator without having to recenter it in Framemaker?
    I currently have the following File Handling & Clipboard options selected in Illustrator:
    Copy AS:
    -PDF
    -AICB (no transparency suuport)
    -Preserve Appearance and OverPrints
    But, these settings do not seem to help much for the imported graphic files in Framemaker.
    I appreciate any information you can provide.
    Thank you for your help.

    *** haven't checked, because I don't have any pre-9.0 files easily available ***  ... but from what I remember, if you're really just viewing the files in 9.0 you should need to save them explicitly back to an earlier version. FM may mark the files as "changed" when it opens them, but that's because it checks things like datestamps and cross-references. If you do not, yourself, explicitly change any content in the file you have opened, you don't need to save the changes; just close the file unsaved.  Check my supposition with a couple of files before relying on it! And other people will be able to give you a more detailed explanation of why file you haven't touched yourself still show up as "changed".

  • Best Practices for image layout and positioning using anchored frames in Framemaker 10

    Hi,
    I'm looking for the best practices in how to layout my images in Framemaker 10 so that they translate correctly to Robohelp 9. I currently have images inside of Anchored frames that "Run into" the right side of my text. I've adjusted the size of the anchored frame so that my text flows correctly around the image. Everything looks good in Framemaker! Yeah! The problem is that when I link my Framemaker document to Robohelp, the text does not flow around my image in the same manner. On a couple of Robohelp screens the image is running into the footer. I'm wondering if I should be using tables in Framemaker in order to get the page layout that I'm looking for. Also, I went back and forth...is this a Framemaker question or is this a Robohelp question. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I wish I could offer some advice, rather than simply adding to your question. I think there is something odd that happens with anchored frames.
    I have been going through fits trying to figure out why the placement of my graphics shifts when I run them through Frame 10-to-RoboHelp 9 conversion. The placement in our books is flush left to the body text area. However, when they convert, some are flush left, some are centered, and a very few are flush right. My boss is very unhappy with me, as I have been unable to figure out why this is happening. I didn't create these files, so I don't know if it's something that goes back to how the graphics were initially imported. But I can't figure out why everything looks right in Framemaker, with the frame attached to an anchor tag, etc. but the placement goes hinky when they convert.
    Any insights are appreciated. I'm wondering if it's going to come down to deleting them and recreating the graphic frame.

  • .MOV to .PSD image shift...HELP!!!!!!

    I have a .MOV and a .PSD file of the same image, the .MOV is of the .PSD image animating into its place on the .PSD. However when the track (.MOV) jumps to the Layered Menu (.PSD). there is an image shift. How do I prep the files so that the uncompressed quicktime movie and the photoshop file will line up seamlessley?
    Any help appreciated!
    Bill

    I don't know enough about how you applied the motion to tell you exactly why this happends, but I have clue:
    If you are animating the motion in FCP in an uncompressed sequence, the frame size will actually be 720x486. When this gets encoded to mpeg, it gets cropped to 720x480, 4 lines top and 2 bottom, to keep the field order the same.
    I start with a 720x486 file in photoshop, and then manually crop it 4 top and 2 bottom to prepare the version of the still file for the DVDSP menu.
    I might also recommend simply extending your motion quicktime to include the still at the end. It should only add a minute of video to your disc. You can even set the menu in DVDSP to a stilll at the end, as opposed to looping.
    Another thing that can effect positioning of photoshop layers in FCP or DVDSP is if there are any pixels on the layer outside the bounds of the canvas. A quick "select all-image:crop" will eliminate this.

  • LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw prints image shifted 1/2" from top of page.

    When printing any report, diagnostic or form from the machine system I get printed image shift approx. 1/2" from the top.
    Is there any adjustment that can be made to the MFP to center image?

    Hi @patrick22152,
    I understand that when printing documents or a printer hardware self test, it shifts 1/2" from the top of the page. I can help you with this.
    Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
    It sounds like the paper isn't feeding properly. Since you are having this issue with the hardware tests and printing from the computer. If it was just the computer, I would check the paper type selected in the print driver, to make sure it isn't set on the proper paper type and not the default unspecified paper.
    Try another type of paper to see if you get the same results.
    I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue.
    'Load Paper' Error Message Displays and the Printer Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper.
    Disregard the title.
    Here is a example of how the Configuration Report should look like.
    Printing a Configuration Report.
    Run a cleaning page:
    From the Home screen, touch the Setup button.
    Touch the Service menu.
    Touch the Cleaning Page button.
    Load plain letter or A4 paper when you are prompted.
    Touch the OK button to begin the cleaning process.

  • Does anyone know how to save / preserve image maps when updating graphics?

    Hello all,
    I'm currently working on a RH7 HTML project, which I've designed to be used in support of a software application.
    Some of the application's dialogue boxes have quite complex multi-tabbed GUIs, so when it comes to describing their functionality, you often end up with a long list below the graphic image. What this means of course, is that the user is forever scrolling up and down to make reference between the GUI and the explanatory text.
    I hit upon an idea I'd used previously, whereby I created popups to multiple image map hotspots. It works like a dream and the client and users really like the concept - but there's a snag (apparently).
    Because the application is still in development. some of those GUIs are (and will continue to) change. No problem with that either - until I try and insert the updated graphic. Poof !! All my hotspots disappear . . .
    Surely I'm not alone in trying this approach and there must be some way of preserving the hotspots?
    Any suggestions?
    Bob (in a UK time zone)

    Hi there
    It sounds like you are using the standard methods of inserting an image. Don't do that!
    All you need to do in these cases is to use Windows Explorer to save the updated image using the same file name and replacing the former image. When you do this your other data will remain intact. If the new image is a different size, just right-click it inside the RoboHelp HTML editor and choose Reset Size. You also may need to tweak your hotspots if things shifted some.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Placing  a 4x3 QT onto a 16 x 9 sequence without image shift /or RH crop

    Hi, I am building a new 16x9 sequence with fresh background, and when I import a older 4x3 QT to place onto it, the 4x3 image shows up cropped on the right side, cutting off the ends of logos, etc. I am not trying to stretch the older 4x3 to 16x9. Just the actual placement onto the timeline causes the crop to show up. When viewed straight from desktop, the 4x3 QT looks fine, only when placed in the 16x9 sequence does the image shift / crop.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Right click on the clip in the timeline and select 'remove attributes'
    Has FCP added distort or crop? If so remove them and see if that corrects the problem

    > also know that the world "layer" was dropped out in CS4
    Actually it was CS3.
    > I read the "Page layout 101" and it said layer can help

    No. It says to not be seduced by the apparent ease of
    positioning.
    > When you design a page, don't you want your content stay
    in one
    > position or area instead of shrinking or stretching
    according to the
    > browser's
    > size?
    Usually, yes. And it is quite possible (even normal) to do
    that without the
    use of absolute positioning.
    > I found it if I don't use layer, the image shrinks or
    stretches
    You are mistaken here. Images do not shrink or stretch on a
    web page
    (UNLESS you have made their height/width a percentage -
    that's pretty rare
    and requires special intervention by you).
    > I don't know
    > if I have the right concept about layer.
    I'm confident you do not. Let's look at your code -
    1. You have no doctype (that's very bad). Please add this to
    the top of
    the page -
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01
    Transitional//EN"
    http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    2. You also have no <html>, <title>, or
    <head> tags. Please add this
    directly under the doctype -
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;
    charset=utf-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    3. You have no <body> tags. Please add this directly
    under the markup
    added in #2 -
    <body>
    and this directly below the last markup on your current page
    </body>
    </html>
    4. Then change this -
    #Layer1 {
    position:relative;
    left:136px;
    top:18px;
    width:768px;
    height:481px;
    z-index:1;
    #Layer2 {
    position:absolute;
    left:207px;
    top:54px;
    width:652px;
    height:420px;
    z-index:1;
    #Layer3 {
    position:absolute;
    left:270;
    top:auto;
    width:499px;
    height:405px;
    z-index:1;
    visibility: inherit;
    #Layer4 {
    position:relative;
    left:250px;
    top:50px;
    width:552px;
    height:399px;
    z-index:1;
    #Layer5 {
    position:static;
    left:251px;
    top:75px;
    width:549px;
    height:402px;
    z-index:1;
    #Layer6 {
    position:absolute;
    left:252px;
    top:40px;
    width:551px;
    height:402px;
    z-index:1;
    to this -
    #wrapper {
    width:792px;
    margin:0 auto;
    position:relative;
    #Layer6 {
    position:absolute;
    left:252px;
    top:40px;
    width:551px;
    height:402px;
    z-index:1;
    (that's right - delete the rest)
    Finally, change this -
    <div id="Layer6">

  • Artwork shifting when exporting or saving for web?

    Have been creating some simple icons in Illustrator (CS 5.5), but the artwork is shifting when I try to export. For example, I'll create a 30x30px artboard, draw the icon inside the artboard, end export as a PNG. When I do this, even though the artwork is completely within the bounds of the artboard (no drop shadows or anything like that that would extend outside the artboard), there is some slight clippling that occurs in the exported icon. It's like Illustrator is shifting the artwork to the right and/or down 1 pixel as it exports.  Any ideas what might be happening here?
    In the meantime, as a work-around I've just been copying the artwork from Illustrator, pasting it into a 30x30px canvas in Photoshop, pasting the artwork, adn then doing Save for Web. This works fine, but is an extra step that I'd rather not have to do.

    Jacob,
    I tried enabling "Use Preview Bounds" as you suggested, but it still showed everything within the artboard. This was as expected since I set the button stroke for inside alignment rather than centered alignment when I created it.
    I've attached an image showing the icon in 3 states. The left most image is the icon as it appears in Illustrator shown within the artboard. Actually the artboard was created by clicking on the icon.  When "Use Preview Bounds" was enabled, it lined up perfectly with the artboard lines.  The middle image shows the icon in the Save for Web dialog preview. You can see that it already looks shifted.  The last image on the right shows the exported icon where the right and bottom edges looked cropped.
    As I mentioned, if I create a 30x30px canvas in PS, copy the artwork into it, and export using Save for Web for PS, it looks fine.
    Thanks for your help, BTW.

  • Camera raw 8.7 color and contrast shifts when file opened in ps 6

    camera raw 8.7 color and contrast shifts when file opened in ps 6

    Thanks ssprengel for the suggestions and running a side by side yourself. I went through all my settings and applied your suggestions and did a side by side each time. I even uninstalled the entire creative suite on my system then reinstalled and updated and I still get the same outcome. It was fine yesterday with the previous version of ACR. It seems like the updated version is not showing the image preview in any color space. When I switch the color space in the workflow options the histogram changes but it doesn't seem to affect the preview window. And yes the preview button was checked on it was just when I was using the screen grab tool in windows it took focus away from the application so that is why the settings appear grayed out. I have attached more screen grabs below illustrating all my settings. Also here is some system info if anyone out there has a similar setup and would be willing to test.
