Images suddenly missing (Pages 5.5)

Hey all -
I just updated to Pages 5.5
Now all my pages docs are missing their images, and I get the "images are missing because they were deleted" error.
The docs were create recently with Pages (5.2 I think).
I know the images are still in the .pages package in the Data directory. I can see them by navigating in via the Terminal.
But somehow they are disconnected.
Anyone else getting this error?

I've tried it a couple of times now, albeit with test documents I made specially. Here are the steps again...
Open it in Pages 5 and go to File > Revert to > Browse all versions...
Use the Time Machine interface to restore the version before you opened in Pages 5. You'll get a repeat of the warning about how your document is going to be messed up, but you can OK that.
Close the document.
You should now be able to open the same document in Pages '09.

History: this tiny one-page site has been up for months. It was fine as of 2 days ago.
There have been NO changes to this site at all.
This morning, image links are broken. ?
This site is an add-on domain to my site space. It's had no problems til now.
I've tried simply reuploading all the files in GL, to no avail. When I select "Upload modified files", the
list shows no files selected.
I then opened the index page, relinked all the images, and clicked upload modified. Again no files checked in list.
I tried again with Upload All. Nothing.
I then manually selected all the files and re-uploaded them. No change.
I then deleted all of the files online, and hit Upload all and uploaded the entire site as new. Still no change.
If I open the uploaded copy of index page in GL it appears correctly; but still not displaying images. ??
What is wrong here? And what could have happened to this little page to make this happen?
There is no difference in the way the files are organized now, and the way they were when the images displayed. ??
This tiny page is driving me crazy, mostly because it's so tiny and yet so broken. Any ideas?

Nothing about this site has ever changed after it was up and running.There has never been a different server or any other location. Again, this was running fine until 2 days ago. Checked nameservers for thomaslafauci.com; they are correct.
However: I have discovered that somehow, on my server, there is apparently both a sub-domain AND an add-on domain listed for thomaslafauci.com. Not sure how that happened, as I only created the add-on version. Here is the info for the sub-domain:

I have no idea how/why the sub-dom was ever created. ?How could that be? But more importantly: could this be the problem?
I still cannot find the different location with just a few files in that you mention, so can't even delete it.
Here is the more basic question, as the clock ticks away on this:
should I just delete BOTH the sub- and addon domains from my server, delete all files on the server;
then, recreate the add-on and just re-upload all files for thomaslafauci.com?
Most important: will that solve the problem?

CR Viewer tool bar images are missing; Export and Print are not working

I used Crystal report 10.5(VS 2008 base crytal report -- CRRedist2008_x86.msi), i developed ASP.net application using VB.net program(i used .net 3.5). One of the pages in the application is having crystal report viewer, which is calling a crystal report to populate the result. The report is working as expected on development machine (Win Vista). Hence, I moved the application onto Server (Windows Server Web; 32Bit OS and IIS). I installed the CRRedist2008_x86.msi, which added the "aspnet_client" under default website. As my site is a made as an application under default webiste. I tried...
a) By copying the aspnet_client folder into the website folder
b) By adding a virtual directory called "aspnet_client" under my website pointing it into the folder under "default website"
None of the trials are working for me.
When I click on Print or Export buttons (although their images are missing), I get the error sigh on bottom left (status bar) of the browser and the popping up the same giving me below error details

Hello All.
I am excited to let you know that the issue is being resolved.
Here is steps that lead me to resolution and solution..
I installed Fiddler2 and looked into every the debugging details of the transaction while running the report.
Learned that the crystal report is using the aspnet_client foler under "Default website" NOT under the crrent website.
Hence I tried to access the image via http path from local machine
http://myserver/aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/CrystalReportWebFormViewer4/images/toolbar/export.gif.
(Notice, "mysite" folder is been removed)
I was expecting to see the gif on my browsers' body. It gave me an error.
Investigated further more on the error and found that the "Managed Pipe Line" of the respective application pool is to be changed to "Classic" instead of "Integrated"
changed it .. Boom...
Tool bar is showing up with proper images and as well the "Export" and "Print" functions are working as expected..
Hope this helps to those in the same situation.
Again.. this is one of many many solutions on this issues.

Carousel don't show images, only the page name and a "read more" link

Good morning.
I'm trying to get a carousel in my page. I already set a image to one page and on my carousel component, I selected that page.
When I see the carousel, it shows me the page inputed name and a "read more" link instead of the image.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong or missed?

What did I do to correct this problem:
When I create a page renderer component, the same automatically creates a jsp file, with the same name as the component. In my Geometrixx copy sites, there's always a "content.jsp" file in the components, despite of the one with the same name of the component. So, instead of build my pages in the componentname.jsp, i'm doing this is these content.jsp. Just doing this, the carroussel works perfectly. For sure is something that I miss in my own jsp files, but even with the same code (copy > paste), in my jsp the carroussel don't work. Anyway, now I can use it.

I created a document in Pages v5.2 last week and have just opened it and received the following message:
'Some images are missing because they were deleted from the document'
When I try and replace the missing images I get the following message:
'The image "filename" couldn't be inserted.'
When I try and reimport the original image I get the following message:
'The image "filename" couldn't be inserted. This image is of an unsupported type.'
If I try and insert an image that was not in the document before, in the same file format, it goes in fine.
If I insert the original image into a blank Pages document it goes in no problem.
I would also like to point out that the data folder still contains lots of versions of images in the document, but does not seem to have any of the ones I am actually using, which I guess is where the problem is. However I have no idea how or why these specific images have been deleted.
Any light on how this problem has come about, and the best possible way to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

I have Pages v5.2.2 on OS X 10.9.4. I can not reproduce your stated issues with images in this version of Pages. I don't have a solution for you. See my test in the third paragraph. If I were experiencing this behavior, I would perform a Safe Boot to clear out System caches, and try again, before kicking Pages v5+ to the curb.
The Safe Boot would be pressing and holding the shift key at boot chime, and until a horizontal progress bar shows on the screen. At the eventual login screen, after you type your password — press and hold the shift key — press the right arrow to login, and release the shift key after the Finder menu bar appears. Then reboot normally.
I have created a new document. Dragged and dropped an image into it and saved. Exited Pages. Reopening worked fine. Deleted the image, and proceeded through the following steps, punctuated by save, exit, reopen, and deliberate image removal. Different .jpg image each time. About mid-way through the following item list, I rebooted the MBA just to throw some "spin" into the process. I did not perform a Safe Boot prior to this series of tests.

Firefox not loading images on certain pages

All of a sudden, Firefox no longer loads images on certain pages. I updated to 32.0.3. yesterday so thought that was the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled 32.0.3. but that didn't help. I deactived the add-ons, but that didn't help either. I then installed FF 31, but the problem persists. I don't have the problem with Safari.
I'm lost ….
P.S. I had to upload the image via Safari, didn't work via Firefox

Your System Details list shows that you were only allowing images from the originating page and were blocking third-party images hosted on other servers.
*permissions.default.image: 3
These days a lot of sites store content on other dedicated servers, so it is best to leave such a setting at its default of 1 to allow all images.

I am working on my new website on iweb 09, and published a test, it looks very nice.
The only thing I don´t understand is why the images have missed their frame stroke, once online.

On iWeb, Inspector/Graphic/Stroke/Picture Frame

It appears that the Scrips folder for you site has not been uploaded or not uploaded fully. There are two files, iWebImage.js and iWebSite.js. Try the following:
1 - do a File->Publish Entire Site and see if the site works as intended. You may have to do a refresh on the pages a couple of times.
2 - next, in needed, publish your site to a folder on your hard drive. Mount your iDisk and go to the iDisk/Web/Sites/arkimo folder. Drag the two files above from the Scripts folder on your computer into the Scripts folder on the iDisk Then try the site again.
Part of the problem is the server, some files not loading the first time, and part is the missing js files in the Scripts folder.

New to Acrobat scripting, Is it possible to identify image on a page with javascript. I don't need to edit it, just to know it exists and maybe get some info from it. Is this possible.
I don't see anything in javascript api relating to images, what am I missing.
Any help appreciated.

this but in V9 javascript has access to Preflight profiles would it NOT
be possible to make a profile to test for an image condition then call
this from javascript?

Automator download URL missing pages?

I've just learned automator and created some automator script to download a daily epaper and convert it to pdf. everything works fine except the 'download URL' part, where it misses some pages. The missing pages are always the same on a given day, but varies daily (eg. yesterday its missing page 3, today its missing page 4 on 2 script runs). I've checked the availability of the pages thru web browser and they exists. Anyone with similar experiences or have any solutions on this? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

i'm using custom variables because the web folder varies with current date. I've checked the 'Get Value of Variable' result and all the URLs are there. I've tried typing the exact address on web browser and the image load up fine, so there should be no problem with the URLs.

How is the first page hidden by the other page? Where are you experiencing this problem? In iWeb's window or in the browser window of the published site?
Are you referring to the page's link in your navbar? If so check the Inspector/Page/Page pane for the "hidden" page and make sure it's set to be included in the navbar. If that's not the problem describe in detail what you mean and include any screenshots you can make of the problem.
As far as the longevity of iWeb read the following:

Currently if the site is published directly from iWeb to the 3rd party server the RSS feed and slideshow subscription features will work. All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

Cross reference to an image on textless pages

My InDesign project has pages with only graphics on some pages, or even a single image across two pages. I'd like to reference them for two purposes-
to build a list of plates - could be file name and page number as a starting point.
to reference in explanitory text, eg "See earlier work X on page 22 and Z on pages 10-11"
I can't figure out how to associate a marker with an image. I seem to have to create an empty text box as a child of the graphic and insert a text anchor if I want to insert a cross reference to that graphic elsewhere. It's a bit cludgy and I don't really know what to do with the graphics that span pages, or how to generate a list of plates when I'm done- I imagine I should be using the index tool, but then, will I have to create both an index and a text anchor? Or can a cross-reference link to a page reference created in the index tool, instead of a to text anchor/hyperlink destination? Or is there a way to index and cross reference non-text objects?
I'm using CS5 version of InDesign.

PDF Size is huge when inserting an image on every page

Hello,
I've got a little problem when inserting an image in a crystal report and then exporting it to PDF.
We're using Crystal Report XI and we've designed the report with a sub-report that gets an image from a database field and put this image on every page of the report (it's just a logo for every page).
This image is a JPEG file with 32KB size.
The exported report is about 1000 pages and we're dealing with an issue because of that. Sometimes the report won't generate giving a OutOfMemory Exception (altough we've defined MinHeap/MaxHeap to 512M).
We also find this curious :
- A generated pdf report with the image on every page totals 100MB size (we would expect something like 32KB*100pages=32000KB/1024KB=31.25MB ?) : Depending on the number of pages, could give OutOfMemoryError.
- A generated pdf report without the image on every page totals 1.8MB size. : No OutOfMemoryError problem here.
Do you know of any way to optimize this, reducing the pdf size and ?

Since this is an obvious problem, do you know if there is another way of including an image in the report in a more efficient way ? For instance, include the image, only on the first page and on the rest of the pages just include a link to that image?

You can't with a single image, but you can "fake" it. Duplicate the image & then line up the two halves. It's easier if you are viewing facing pages two-up.
