This sounds serious.  I would make sure you have a backup on a seperate hd or disk or you photos and other documents.  If the drive fails you may loose everything on the hard drive.
Check your free space and fragmentation on hd.  You should have about 20% free space.  So if you have a 400 gig drive you should have 80 gig free.

  • CS5 won't open RAF files from FinePix HS10 & Camera Raw 6.3- Is there something I'm missing??

    Ok-
I've bought CS5 Extended and then updated it (including the Camera Raw 6.3 update).
I am using a MacBook Pro (and an iMac also).
When I try to open the RAF file I get the message "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." Yet the release notes for Camer Raw say that it will open FinePix HS10 files...
So I then decided to try a manual install of Camera Raw- I get the same message.
I have checked with other HS10 users and their PS does open them.
Is there something obvious that I am missing- or is there a problem with the camera raw or the photoshop cs5??
    Hope someone can help!!

I didn't realise that the Camera Raw won't work in 64bit mode. Converting to 32bit enabled the files to be opened.
Actually, that's wrong. Camera Raw 6.3 WILL run as a 64-bit plug-in when hosted by Photoshop CS5 if CS5 is running as a 64-bit app. It'll run as a 32-bit plug-in when hosted by Bridge or Photoshop CS5 set to run as 32-bit.
So, there's something else going on here....
How are you trying to open the raw files? From within Bridge or the Finder? How did you update Camera Raw to version 6.3? From the updater? Is ACR 6.3 in the correct install location? main Library (not the User but root), Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS5/File Formats/Camera Raw.plugin
Can you open raw images from within Bridge? Have you tried to view raw files with Bridge before you updated Camera Raw? Have you trashed the cache foe the folder? In Bridge under Tools/Cache/Purge Cache

  • HELP!!??? Trouble with PS CS-6 displaying/ producing grainy and pixelated images after being imported using PS Bridge and Camera-Raw 8.5

Help!??? I am having trouble with PS CS-6 displaying/ producing/ saving grainy pictures when import NEF files!!!
    Hi all,
When I import all NEF or RAW files into CS6 from Bridge and Camera Raw from the Nikon D200 and D5000, they become grainy/ pixelated.  However, RAW files from the D800 did not have problem. I set the Color Space in my Nikons to AdobeRGB, in PS Camera Raw 8.5 to AdobeRGB, in PS CS-6 ColorSpace to AdobeRGB, and Save As Jpeg with Max quality (12). When comparing between CS-6 produced file and the original, I can see a big drop in quality and the picture become grainy and pixelated. What can I do to make this right? Any help/ suggestion is appreciated.
    Thank you!
    HN

Can you show us a screen-shot of the raw in Camera Raw that shows this noise, or if you only see it in the saved JPG, then show us a side-by-side of the raw in Camera Raw and the JPG?  Show the same area of the photo and zoom to 100%.
It is normal for raw photos to have grain but you can mostly remove it with the Luminance Noise-Reduction sliders in the Detail tab of Camera Raw.
The amount of grain depends on the ISO sensitivity setting on the camera.

  • CS5 not responding after opening Bridge and Camera Raw

I have been using bridge, camera raw and cs5 since it was released. I have not any problems until this morning. I am able to open Bridge and Camera Raw, but when trying to open PS CS5, it does not respond?
    Any suggestions?

Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

  • Bridge and Camera RAW preferences not working

    I'm setting up a new Macbook Pro, late 2013 15", 10.9.2
CS6 Production Premium, Also have Indesign CS6, LR5, Acrobat Pro 11. Camera RAW is version 8.4. Everything is up to date.
Bridge and Camera RAW preferences are not working correctly. Bridge prefs related to Bridge display, e.g. color theme, text beneath thumbnails, favorite locations, etc.. all work fine. Bridge prefs open and close fine with no errors. "Double Click Edits Camera RAW Settings in Bridge" does not take. Photoshop launches to open Camera RAW regardless of whether this is checked or not. Camera RAW preferences will not open. Selecting "Camera RAW Preferences" from Bridge does nothing. Camera RAW seems to work fine hosted by Photoshop.
I tried a new user with the same results.
What's up with this? Anyone else seeing this? Solution?

  • Unable to open d800 files with cs6 and camera raw 8.3

unable to open d800 files with cs6 and camera raw 8.3

Have you used Nikon Transfer on those files? Early versions are known to corrupt files so that ACR can't read them. Nikon has since fixed the bug so new versions are safe.

  • With the Photoshop and Lightroom bundle, does Bridge and Camera Raw come with it?

With the Photoshop and Lightroom bundle, does Bridge and Camera Raw come with it?

    Hi,
Yes, both Camera Raw and Bridge are included. Bridge will need a separate installation, however.

  • Are Bridge and Mini Bridge and Camera Raw part of PS?

1.) Are Bridge and Mini Bridge and Camera Raw part of PS? OR do they also come with other programs in the Adobe software suite?
2.) What is the difference between Bridge and Mini Bridge?
    Thanks.

1.) The  Bridge application is included in the Photoshop installer, as well as  some other Adobe products.(more info:  http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/bridge/?promoid=GWELP). The  Mini Bridge extension is only included in Photoshop CS5, and InDesign  CS5. The Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in is shared by Photoshop, and  Bridge (and is also found in Photoshop Elements).
2.) Bridge is a separate application, whereas Mini Bridge is a panel  that's hosted by the Photoshop or InDesign application. Bridge has a fuller feature set than Mini Bridge and can be used by itself. Mini Bridge needs Bridge to create thumbnails, keep files  synchronized, and perform other  tasks, but operates in the context of the Ps or ID host application (ie. drag/drop multiple assets into working document w/o losing document view).

  • DNGs produced from Hasselblad .fff files display a different image in Bridge and Camera Raw

Lately, not sure when this started exactly, Bridge CC (and Camera RAW 8.7) are displaying incorrect DNG images!  Instead of showing the image I expect to see, I'll see an old image from days ago.  This seems to carry on from Bridge through to Camera RAW.  But then if I continue on to Photoshop with the image, it'll finally show the correct image.
I'm assuming this has something to do with DNG, because if I load another raw file type (like .fff or .NEF), it seems ok.  Also it seems to be ok with DNGs produced from other cameras like Nikon D90.
    My set up:
    - Mac OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks)
    - Bridge CC
    - Camera Raw 8.7
    - Photoshop CC 2014
    - Hasselblad H4D-50

HI, I managed to fix the trouble by reinsatalling once again and running updates BEFORE opening bridge. It seemed that if I ran the update AFTER opening bridge I would get either an up to date status when checking for updates or I would get an install failure notice on all 4 updates that were trying to install. The updates were for camera raw, bridge and PS. I can't explain why but that helped a little. I also changed permissions on my whole user accnt to include read/write for all users. I can't say if this helped or not. I also had to go into my camera B/U files on a sepate HD and replace some of the CR folders I was using o nthe desktop. Still the CR files would not show a thumb nor a preview till I then went to each individual file inside that folder and purged the cashe for that file so it could repopulate the cashe yet again. This has been the strangest few days in PSCS6 history! Well my personal history. I will report back here if more quirks emerge. I would prefer quarks though....aloha, U

  • Bridge and Camera Raw vs. Lightroom

Is there anything that can be done in Bridge or Camera Raw (CS6) that can not be done in Lightroom4?

This is an extremely broad question, you could probably make a list of three dozen items, and I'm not going to attempt to do so. I point out that there is probably a very long "opposite" list, i.e. things that you can do in Lightroom that you cannot do with Bridge/ACR.
One of the biggest differences is that Bridge is a file browser, while Lightroom is not. Thus, if you point Bridge to a folder, and there are 15 photos there, then Bridge "knows" about all of them, and you can view all of them and work with all of them. If you have previously imported 5 of those files into Lightroom, but not the other 10, then when you point Lightroom to this folder, it only knows about the 5 that have been imported, and you cannot see or work with the other 10. A consequence of this is that if you move a photo in your operating system, Bridge has no issues, but the photo becomes disconnected in Lightroom and cannot be used until a reconnect happens. Naturally there are advantages and disadvantages to both ways of doing things.
If you have specific question about doing something in Bridge vs Lightroom, we can discuss those.

  • Some recently scanned files (TIFFs) won't open in ACR from Bridge, while most will. Why or how to correct?

All my TIFFs will open from CS6. In Bridge, when I select some TIFFs, the “File > Open in Camera Raw…” is greyed out.  For other TIFFs it is not.  Similarly for right clicking on an thumbnail in bridge. I’ve noted that preferences refers to “supported TIFFs” but can't find information on when a TIFF is not supported. Is there a size limit, the problem scans are larger than my normal ones at over 800MB!.   I’m on a MAC, OS X 10.9.5, PS CS6 13.0.6 and ACR 8.7.1.311.  My current work-around is to open these from PS.  Also note that the Bridge thumb nail do not have the symbol showing it's been changed in the upper right corner on the TIFFs I can't open, yet when I open as a RAW image from PS the changes are reflected in ACR.

Some additional information: When I open the image as a raw image from CS6 my previously made raw changes are intact.  But, when I open it in CS6 but not as raw (e.g. open recent images), none of my raw adjustments are there.

  • Image won't open after copy from lr 3 to ps3

    hello,
ps cs3  won't open an image after i select copy or use original from LR 3 3.5 /camera raw 6.5.
if i select open with LR adjustments (first choice at top) image will open.
i'm guessing this has something to do with the version of camera raw??
    thanks, Owen

Ok, i did some testing and here's what i came up with. I use both the d200 and d700.
all files are .nef's. the files of the d700 open in all 3 options from LR3.
there are some photos from d200 that open with all 3 options as well, however i found that in another series of photos with the d200 when i open the nef, do changes, and hit save, it doesn't reimport, it puts it in the folder as .tiff but doens't bring it back into LR
i can import the .tiff  back into LR3 but once it's imported my only option is to open with LR changes.
This is a bit strange?? two different shooting sessions, all in .nef one opens and reimports as .tif and the others don't.
    thoughts?

  • Help - Canon Mark IV CR2's won't open in ACR from Bridge CS3

Hello, I have CS3 - Bridge version 2.1.1.9 and I've uploaded 200 RAW images that show up blank.  The files show 21 mb and as a .CR2, show up in the camera, however, no previews in Bridge.
Do I need a newer version of Bridge and ACR?
    Thanks,
    Captain

I did see, as I was researching my response, that there's only one model that has reached Mark IV stage so far, so my question wasn't completely necessary.  I have been anticipating a 5D Mark IV at some point to counter Nikon's latest offerings.
    -Noel
You may need to wait a while since the 5D Mk III is baely out of the starting gate.
The reviews seem to all say that the 5D Mk III is blowing the competition out of the water.  I an't verify that since I use a 7D.
BTW, I would recommend upgrading to CS6 as opposed to using DNG converter.  The new features such as the automatic CA correction, lens corrections, and better noise reduction make it worth upgrading.

  • Bridge CS4 won't open to Photoshop CS5 out of Camera Raw?

I use Bridge CS4 because I prefer it to bridge CS5 but when I edit images in ACR in bridge cs4 and click 'Open Image' I want it to open automatically in PS CS5 and instead it opens always into PS CS4.  In preferences>file type associations, everything is set to CS5 so I don't know how to direct opening images from ACR to open in photoshop CS5 not CS4.  I've had it working on a different system but I don't remember what I did to get it to work.

Uh huh...and why would you expect CS5 to open the image from Bridge CS4? You haven't stated why you are trying to use Bridge CS4, but as you've found out, that is not an optimal solution....(BTW, troubleshooting 101 dictates that you at least mention what platform and OS you are using).
