Imaging Collection Rule Issues.

Part of the problem is that I have “Status Filter Rule” in the Site Configuration. It is checking for message ID 11171 from the “Task Sequence Manager”, this runs
a script to remove the computer from the reimage collection.
Right now, the computers are not being removed from the collection.
This could either be because the task sequence failed or it completed successfully, but did not meet the criteria to be removed from the collection.
This has always worked in the past. Is there a different message
ID for R2?

That message ID hasn't changed. It's still 11171.
Check the deployment status in the Monitoring workspace, to see what the latest message ID of the client is.

A question about Logical Disk Performace collection Rules and how the Data is displayed in a Report view

I am currently on SCOM 2007 R2 CU6 and Window Server Operating System MP version 6.0.6989.0 (I cannot use the latest version of the MP as we still have some Windows 2000 Servers we need to support, yes I know :( )
Any way the issue is, I have never found the Logical Disk performance counter data very reliable from SCOM.
For example, I have a Windows 2008 R2 Server and when looking at a local Logical Disk (which holds an SQL temp DB on a busy SQL Server) and look at the performance counter
The SCOM collection rule is called "Collection Rule for Average Disk Seconds per Transfer"
The actual Windows Perfmon counter is called "Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer"
if you look at the description of the above Perfmon counter it is described as
"Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer is the average number of bytes transferred to or from the disk during write or read operations."
The problem I have is as follows:
The resulting SCOM performance chart over several days (which has a scale ox 1x) states the value never reach 3 (e.g. maximum wa s 2.7 say). I cannot believe the a drive holding the tempDB databases for a busy SQL Server does not transfer more then 2.7 "bytes"
of data at a given to to its tempDB databases!
Indeed when I look at Permon on the Server and looks at this counter over say 20 minutes or so, the figure is often in the 10,000 or 30,000 bytes etc. It does fall back to 0 (zero) momentarily but mostly it is in the 1000s, or 10,000s etc.
Therefore when my boss says show me the "Avg. Disk Bytes/Transfer" and SCOM says it has not exceeded 2.7 over the last business week (i.e. the chart never peak above this value on the chart with scale 1x) he naturally does not believe it!!
Any advice please regarding the above. Is it the fact if the counter ever falls to zero it messes up the SCOM report charts?

Create your own collection rule, to mirror the sample times, and what not. Look at the data from your rule vs the mp default rule. It probably has to do with the chart scale imho.

Generic CSV log collection Rule not pulling all records

Hi,
I created a Generic csv log collection rule with details as follows:
Target: Windows Computer
Directory: D:\async
Pattern: Async*.csv
Seperator: ,
Expression: Params/Param[1]-matches wildcard- *
Problem is the Csv file has around 50000 records whereas in the eventview of that rule it only shows 16853 records. I also tried with following SQL query but same results.
select * from event.vEvent
where EventNumber=0
(Since this is the only csv rule I've created & I dont have any records with event 0 hence using eventnumber 0)
I've verified first column of csv file (i.e Param[1]) doesn't contains blank records. Tried deleting & recreating Rules + CSV files but no luck.

As we can see all csv files that start with "Async" under D:\async foler will be collected.
How many this kind of file exist under the directory?
Would you please creat another simple Async.csv file and remove the original file to another folderto do a test.

Need to generate a report for Event collection rules created in SCOM

Hi All,
Can any one let me know where can i get a report of the Event based collection rules created in SCOM (For default and custom made).
I used the below report but it gives the collection rules which are performance counter based not event collection based.
Reporting -> Microsoft Generic report library ->Performance detail (Gives performance based Collection rule but not event based). Can any one help.

what is your objects setting?
Suppose, I want to display the Windows Restart Event which is collected by "collection rule for windows Restarted Events" . from the Rules pane in Authoring workpsace, "collection rule for windows Restarted Events" is target on windows
Server Operating system. As a result, my "custom event" report setting as
1) Objects: objects instance of windows Operating system
2) rules filter by rules name contains "windows Restarted Events"

Orgchart export to image: special characters issue

Hello,
Using Orgchart Accelerated 2.01.
We have an issue when exporting to image. The issue happens when org unit name or attributes contains some special characters like é or ë (common in French). In the jpg export, these characters are being replaced by some square characters. In the preview and in the application, everything is displaying just fine.
This doesn't happen for ppt export (pdf export still not functionning)

HI Laurent,
This is quite unusual. As far as I am aware the OrgChart Accelerated solution only supports English at present. However, you should raise an OSS message via Service Marketplace as I would expect it to export these characters okay.

Random Image PHP Scipt Issue

I am using a
PHP random image
script on a site in which I have 2 different images on each
templated page (random images throgh a site). The two images call
to 2 different folders with the random image script in them (to get
2 distinct images). Thus, 2 different random images. My issue is
that it seems that most browsers at some point do not call for a
new image but use what was there in the last page as it is the same
name:

Any idea of how to force a browser to call the PHP script? Or
how to change it so it works site wide?

I've now been sitting looking for this for a while. I don't seem to be able to get it to work.
Do I need to host to a folder first and then to the FTP server after?
I don't seen to be able to find the new page (TEST PAGE) in the folder I used to publish the site to before I went online. Tried searching for it in finder but I don't get any results on (TESTPAGEfiles).
I can see what you are talking bout I only publish to a local folder but I want to publish via the FTP option in iWeb.

Updating image collection with new images

I have an image collection which works as a slideshow which can be paused/resumed. This works fine but my problem is that these images are going to change everyday but they will keep the same filename. Is there a way to get the collection to refresh itself
automatically or perhaps if there is a different way to do this rather than a collection? Something that grabs the image from file at run time rather than storing a copy locally which the collection seems to do.

If I understand you correctly, the app you're building will display images that are new everyday, but keep the same name. If this is correct, then to be able to do this you will need to work with a REST based source such as RSS or Facebook, for example.
The reason is that since we always fetch from these sources, displaying the data returned, and therefore any changes you make such as a new image or name will be pulled into Siena when we go grab the data. This is different from a source
like Excel where we take a snapshot and use with Siena. As you have observed, this snapshot will only get updated when you manually refresh from the backstage.

Direct Rule - Add Collection Rule fails - SCCM Integration

I am trying to use Add Collection Rule and add a computer to a collection using Direct Rule. It fails with the following error:-

But I am using Collection Value Type as Name and Resource Definition Value Type as "Resource Names". If I use Resource ID instead and add the computer resource ID - it works. The FQDN does not work.
I have added quotes "comp1.dev.com" . the screenshot below is older.

It does not matter what I name the rule. Only success is using the ResourceID, but then I will to write a powershell command to get the resource id.
The Rule Definition has to be in quotes, else it says it is invalid. I have tried all combos and this does not work.
Maybe someone else who has the IP can check.

Delete all image collections

Collective goods issue in production

We want to do a collective goods issue in production. Is there a chance in SAP that we can do a goods issue by supply area or MRP controller. We don't want to enter manually the group of production orders in MB1A or don't want to do backflush. Is there any way, please advice.

In standard SAP are we issue the good In MB1A (261 Mov type) with reference to order and which having the reservation.
The dependent requirements are planned as per BOM explosion. Item materials are issued against header material to complete header material production.
Goods issue takes place against the production order at the start of the header material prod order.
But MB26 will allow you to issue for serval orders,

"Error Images" Collection question

Hi all,
I just noticed that this collection contains one of my images (DNG). However, I can't find a reason. File is not missing from hard drive, and it does not look corrupted or having missing metadata.
Is there way to find why Lightroom placed a picture into 'Error Images" collection?

I have seen that happen with a couple of files and there is only one reason that I have found so far; if the file is write-protected, and you try to write updated metadata, the file is added to error collection. (but you are also warned that "Writing XMP Metadata did not complete successfully" with choices to Ignore and Show in Library.)
But the "Error Images" collection is dynamic: if you start with, let us say 4 images in the collection, and you purposely write-protect, modify and attempt to write metadata to a file not in your current "Error Collection", your "Error Collection" only shows the most recent file.
The only other reason, and this is a guess, is that Lightroom for some reason, failed do some operation on a selection of files. I do not have time to try this but if would be good to know the underlying criteria that define "Error Images".
But in your case you say, that the file

Then there must be other reasons, and it would be good to hear if any other users can enlighten us.

Editing image collection list in "System Pref Desktop"

Under Apple menu > System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Desktop, a collection of images are available from the list on the left, however, some of the folders previously created by the "choose Folder" method do not contain any pictures anymore. How do I delete or edit the image collection list on the left?

Ahhhh....sounds like a corrupt preferences file then. Try trashing this preference file, log out and log back in.
User > Library > Preferences > com.apple.desktop.plist

Collection Rules

Hi all,
I am trying to figure the collection rules, I just pull out information from this community to define this rules.
But it seem that on my SAP version I do not have access to the t-code UDM_BASIS_RULE. Is this normal, does my
IT department need to active it on our SAP?

what role are you playing on the project?
As stated you can configure collection rules via SPRO.
It is worth noting that SAP delivers 20 or so standard collection rules - they normally are enough.
Once you have your rules, they need to be added to a strategy, which in turn needs to be added to a Collection Group.

Querying SCCM for Collection rules by Powershell

I am trying to get a list of collections rules applied to a particular collection, in sccm. I have psbase property of a collectionrules which contains the names of the collectionrules. How do I access those collections, using powershell?

A collection can have multiple query-based membership rules. Each of those rules can have multiple queries. CSVs are 2 dimensional, and don't support this type of nesting. You could simply take the first query from the first rule, but depending
on how the collections are defined, there could be missing information.
XML on the other hand, can support this type of nesting.
I haven't tested this (use at your own risk), but this could be the general idea, if you wanted to move queries from one system to another, or simply back them up.

Turning off 504 non reporting performance collection rules in the Exchange 2010 MP

I read the following MS article about tuning the Exchange 2010 Management Pack

It advises to turn off 504 non reporting performance collection rules, then only turn back on the ones of interest.
However it does not state how to identify / locate these 504 rules. I would prefer to find/disable them via PowerShell rather than manually.
Can someone please advise how to locate these 504 rules please and disable on mass.

you’ll need a script that performs the following steps:
Retrieve the management pack in which to store the overrides
Retrieve the class that will be targeted by the override
Retrieve the rules or monitors that will be disabled
Disable the rule or monitor
To disable bulk of rule, Here is the sample that disables all rules matching the “*events/sec*” filter.
