Imail problem

Can somebody help me with this? When i is launch my imail it keeps on bouncing on the dock. I've tried, re-installing it, and even tried running disk utility just to fix the problem. But unfortunately, no luck at all. Then i tried looking in the crash log report of imail and found error. The error says:
Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/InstantMessage.framework/Versions/A/InstantMe ssage
Referenced from: /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail
Reason: image not found
Please help!

After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, unless this is the version of Mac OS X that came with your computer. Or better yet, install the latest combo update instead:

Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.

IMail problem after latest OS Yosemite Recovery update (@09.04.2015), OS X update, itunes update

Hi,
I have a problem. After the latest update of OS X Yosemite, Yosemite Recovery update and iTunes I have a big problem. I mail is not lunching, it says that it is identifying message conversations and it will take few minutes... But it has been all day. The situation does not change even after restarting the system. Forcing to quit and reopening the iMail does not help also.
What is the solution?
Have anyone had something similar?
Any ideas?!

Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

Mountain Lion 10.8 causing imail problems.

Recently downloaded to Mountain Lion, and to be honest, mail with an Exchange Server has always been temperamental, but now it is far worse.
Had our computer guys check and reset account info etc.
Still no joy!!!

Problem to receive my mails in iMail

Hi, I have a problem by receiving my mails on iMail on my MacBook Pro (OS X Lion). I have two different mail accounts, first iCloud and an account by an other provider. Often iMail can't receive my mail on both accounts, somtimes just iCloud and somtimes from the other provider. If I close iMail and open it again, it works somtimes again. I also try to delete my accounts, but it doesn't fix the problem. If I check my "Mail Connection" there a these error messages (by the way, at this time my account from the other provider worked, iCloud not):

Take these steps when you're unable to connect to the iCloud mail server.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
telnet p02-imap.mail.me.com 993
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
You should get three lines of output below what you entered, the same as or similar to these:
Trying 17.172.34.116...
Connected to non-de-p02-imap.mail.me.com.akadns.net.
Escape character is '^]'.
If that's not what you get, post the output in a reply. You can then quit Terminal.

Problem W/ IMail

so this is my situation.... I have not changed anything on my IMail settings and these problems began... I have 3 accounts under my IMail account ... AOL, Gmail and MobileMe. I attempted to send a large video file thru my IMail AOL account but it was too large so I used my IMail MobileMe account to share the Video instead... It worked fine and the person received the video. But, now I cant send any mail from my AOL account thru IMail ... It just constantly has that little grey pinwheel looking thing next to my AOL account all the time and every time I would log onto IMail it would resend a different email from my GMail account. Now IMail has stopped resending this same email from Gmail (Thank God!) and I didn't change anything... I cant figure out what is going on... Again I haven't changed any settings or done anything except send the emails I stated above. I am truly stumped. Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

You've posted this in the iSync forum. iSync is only for syncing contacts and calendars to non-Apple mobile phones - nothing to do with email.
You mention a program called "IMail" multiple times - I've never heard of it so I'm not sure where you would be better off posting.
Can you clarify?

Imail password problem

My Imail keeps asking my password over and over again. Even if I select to remember it on my keychain. what should I do?

Sorry, decobug — I don't use Apple's Mail application or know why you're having the problem with it. Since Mail 1.3.11 is part of OS X 10.3.9 and the trouble probably isn't specific to your Powerbook model, you may want to repost the question in this OS X 10.3.x and Earlier discussion forum. Imail & AOL - PROBLEMS....I cannot save AOL mail into my iMail application.

Can anyone please tell me why I cannot save any AOL email I compose (and it's only when I write an email). I always get a simple error saying it cannot be saved.....I have other email accounts set up through my iMail and they are all saved - or better yet, I can see them in my "sent" box. AOL never shows up in my "sent" box....

Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for your AOL account preferences, what is your selection for saving Sent messages?

After installing 10.10.3 OS X, my colleague and I both lost our ability to send encrypted email with iMail. Sending encrypted email is part of our regular day job so the loss was immediately noticeable after installing 10.10.3. We can digitally sign an email, but no ability to encrypt. I've already deleted my certificates and reinstalled to no avail. Any other thoughts?

IMail and Outlook Problem

Hello-
I did a search and didn't see the answer to this. Apologize if it's been asked and answered. I have a PC and a Macbook. If I log into my Macbook I can see all my new email and then if I log onto my PC I can see all the same new email. If I log into my PC first I see the new email but then when I log into my Macbook no new emails. Hope that makes sense? Outlook seems to be able to grab the emails anytime and imail only if they do it before Outlook. It's a pain because I have different emails on my Macbook..
Any help would be appreciated...

Hi Thomas: It sounds like the issue you have is just a matter of the settings within your PC version of Outlook. Somewhere within there you will find a setting where you have told Outlook to "download messages from the server". I'm not quite sure at the moment where the changes need to be made, but that is why the PC seems to get to the messages first. Within your MacBook the settings keep the mail on the server. Hopefully this helps

OSX Mavericks problems with iMail new mail sound and Time Capsule back-up symbol

Since I updated to Mavericks, the New Messages Sound in iMail does not work; there is no sound. As well, the time capsule back-up clock-face symbol in the top menu no longer moves when the computer is being backed-up. Any ideas?

If so, that's a kernel panic. All you need to do is install a fresh version of OSX. See #E8 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

Unable to receive email from in iMail

My icloud email account is offline. I am unable to send and receive emails ...
I am using the correct icloud user and password. I am able to log in and use my email from the iCloud site (www.icloud.com)
But not getting email in iMail.
I opened System Preferences and went to Mail and in accounts it ays: The “Incoming Mail Server” field cannot be empty.
However, there is mail.icloud.com typed in except I cannot change it because it is grayed out.
Also I went to the "Mail Connection Doctor" inside iCloud.
There I have two messages. The first one says "Mail was able to connect to the internet."
Below that is another message: next to MobileMe IMAP... it says:Could not connect to this MobileMe IMAP server.
Check your network connection and that you have entered the correct information in the Account Preferences. Also verify
that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the SSL checkmark in the Advanced tab of Account Preferences.
All the network connection information is correct. I am able to connect to the internet. I don't know if the server supports SSL.
But the box is checked and the IMAP Path Prefix box is empty. Port is 993.
Can someone please help figure out why I am not getting my icloud email and how to fix it.

One POP email no longer working in Imail

I have two POP email accounts that have been working quite well on my MacBook for several months. About a week ago one of them stopped receiving emails. I have deleted the account and set it up again to no avail. If I check the account information it lists all the emails on the server. PLEASE help me figure this out. I can open it on my browser and the mail is being delivered just fine there - just not on my imail account. The two email accounts that I have are set up the same and only one is receiving mail. Thank you for any help!

All settings on both email address are set the same in my Mac Mail. One is working the other is not. I am also receiving emails for both accounts on my blackberry. This is an Apple problem as there are many others that have reported the same problem on Apple's Support page. I have deleted and re-entered this email and still nothing. There are email messages that are listed on the server but are not being delivered to my email account. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Why is my Safari not working and saying there is a problem when I try to open it ? Please help !

Hello I am writing here because today as I was using my macbook air, a software update popped up. I updated everything that needed to be updated, and when my computer restarted I went to use Safari and it simply will not work now. When I try to open it, an exclamation point pops up and it says "Safarir wuit unexpectedly while using the TelevisionFanaticToolbar plugin." I believe that my internet connection is not the problem, because iChat and iMail seem to be working just fine. I really need help immediately, can anyone possibly run me through some steps on how I could possibly get it working again. What can I do ? Help !

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. From your description sounds like you've got something installed in Safari as a plugin. Whatever this "televisionfanatictoolbar" thing is, you should probably get rid of it.
In Safari try going to Preferences -> Extensions and seeing if you have any plugins installed that you can disable. That is likely the reason for your problem.
Another thing you can do is remove your Safari preferences file by doing the following:
in Finder hit command + shift + g and enter "~/Library/Preferences" with out the quotes.
Find the file called com.apple.Safari.plist and delete it. This is completely safe, all it will do is reset your Safari settings.
If you go to "~/Library/Internet Plug-ins" you can also look in there for anything suspicious and throw it in the trash.

Multiple sudden booting and other problems: Help!

I have experienced a sudden problem that makes me afraid to shut down my iMac until I sort it out. I have had it for five wonderful, flawless years.
When I tried to boot today, four times it would not. I got to the grey Apple screen and a processing "clock," but it would not go beyond that in any reasonable time. I finally left it running trying to boot. It did eventually, but glacially slow. Then, there was a message that: "!You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OSX can read. To continue with the disk inserted, click ignore." However, I had NO "disk inserted."
More wierdness followed.
I tried to insert a memory stick to backup my hard drive, and got the same "disk containing no volumes that Mac OSX can read" message. This is the same stick onto which I have previously backed up with no problem.
I then tried to run my McAfee virus scan, but wanetd to update it first. It does not appear to update, even though it says that it is doing so. The starting message continues to say that I last updated months ago. The Virus scan did, however, apparently run using whatever version it actually had in it, and reported only 2 noncritical errors.
I then tried to run Disk Utility, and it won't launch. I "bounces" up an down in the Dock, but then just closes.
I then opened iMail, and all the previous messages showed as unread, even though they actually all were read.
So, I almost could not boot, get a weird "unreadable disk" message, can't get the drive to recognize a memory stick in order to back up to it, can't update my Virus protection, can't run Disk Utility and am getting weird iMail .
Other things seem to be working okay, although sometimes very slowly.
What's going on, and what do I do?
Separate question: I want to insert a disk into my CD tray to use as a startup disk if I encounter another booting problem. Which CD do I use? Mac OSX Install Disk 1? Mac OSX Install Disk 2? (I think all the Software Restore disks include applications other than the OSX.
Final question: how do I get the CD tray to open on the front my iMac (the "tongue" type tray out of the round base) if I have another booting problem, so that I can insert a disk to use for startup?

Sorry for being slow to respond. I have been trying to get things fixed with Repair Disk.
To answer your question first, my hard drive is 74.52 GB, with 55.59GB available, so I don't think that's the problem.
Quite a few things (but not everything) work once the hard drive boots, which is VERY VERY slow. However, any other media I try to use to backup (Memory sticks, CDs) can't be recognized. I get the "disk containing no volumes that Mac OS X can read" messae. The CD's also produced a message when I tried to name them of an "unexpected error."
I followed your repair instructions, but it did not solve the problem. The Repair Disk effort produced an error message under "Checking catalog file" of "Keys out of order." I ran Repair Disk multiple times (at least 10x), but the same message kept coming up. I also tried running Repair Permissions, which took about four hours to run. Repair Disk produced the same error message.
I also found an older Discussion string of messages about application Chess (installed with the basic Mac install disks) being corrupted. I trashed it. No difference.
That message string also talked about some people having problems after installing iTunes 6.0.2, but I am running 7.0.2, and it has been on the computer about two weeks beforre any of this started.
I will try Sherry Johnson's suggestions next.

Imail dates into ical - Not working well for me

I thought one of the new imail features in Lion was that you can click on a date in an email and it will create an event in ical. But every time Ive tried it, it doesnt seem to recognize the correct date. It recognizes the time but tries to put the ical event on todays date - not the date of the event...(whether it says something like tomorrow or the 17th --- and it's happened with emails Ive gotten from Apple addresses!)... So Im wondering how it's supposed to work? Because even when it tries to create an event, it gives me a chance to edit, but I dont seem to be able to edit the date...so its been useless. It gives me the ability to edit the name of the event but not the date.
Is this working smoothly for other people? Any suggestions?
The latest example was an email from an Apple employee that said "I can meet with you at 12pm on the 17th." or "will see you at the workshop at 11am"

I have a similar problem, except in my case when I click on "add to ical" nothing happens - nothing shows up in i cal. This function worked perfectly OK in Snow Leopard.
