IMAP Almost Working, But Can't Subscribe to New Folders

Hello,
We've got a shared IMAP folder that I'm accessing just fine. Unfortunately when someone else adds a folder I can't seem to subscribe to it.
I can see the new folder when I go to "Get Account Info" (it shows up nicely under Quote limits) but the subscription list is blank so I can neither subscribe or unsubscribe to them.

There must be an easy fix for this problem. The ones that were there when I first loaded the IMAP account all show up, so perhaps I need to delete & reinstall it. How crude!
This is with an SL upgrade. I just migrated from Thunderbird, wondering if that might have been a mistake.

I have left BT Broadband -- we've moved abroad -- and want to retain my BTINTERNET.COM email address etc but have been unable to use any of the sign-up processes for PremiumMail.  I've spent hours about this with BT helpers over the phone before we moved -- I've just spent more than an hour trying it all again, following the advise of the helpers to the letter. 
Please help to solve this once and for all -- our 90-day grace period is almost over. 
When I try the 'upgrade your mail' link (http://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/load_page?h​ead=/templates/home_header&page=/register/chprodpw​...) and I enter my current details (that I use to access my btinternet.com email address), I get this notice:
"Sorry, but there seems to be a problem with the status of your account.  Please contact the BT Yahoo! Internet team on the link below for help."  That help link takes me to the email-address sign-in page.
When I try the 'get it [PremiumMail] now'-route via https://register.btinternet.com/cgi-bin/registerno​w?version=ie5&ex=1&product_type=PMR, and I access all the relevant data, I get to a point where I have to choose a primary email address etc.  When I enter my current details (ie my current email address at btinternet.com and my current password), I'm told that's already been taken.
What to do?
Before we left we were told that the online sign-up process is faulty when you try to sign up to Premium Mail while still in the UK -- but that it's all fine once you're aborad.  Well, it isn't. 
I've tried Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers.  It makes no difference.
I cannot lose the current email (btinternet.com) address, it's used for too many important purposes etc.  If you can advise me how to complete a subscription to PremiumMail and therefore retain my current BT email accounts it would be much appreciated.

    Could you review/adjust your preference for which program opens PDFs? I'm not sure how that drop-list behaves when there are multiple Adobe plugins. You might need to physically remove an old plugin file or two to make sure Firefox is not trying to use the old one.

    Are they gone completely from the computer, or just no longer in the library? Check your movie media folder.
    If your'e in the USA you can download some movies a second time, but not all (studio dependent).  You should always back up all media.

    Have you checked that they are selected in System Preferences>Sound>Output tab?
    If that doesn't help, and although I've never had to use it myself, I've read on here occasionally that launching Audio MIDI Setup in the Utilities folder and messing with the settings in there can sometimes sort out audio problems.

    What does syncing have to do with the problem?
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    Try the following to rule out a software problem

    You are planning to do a number of things, so let me first make a suggestion about the overall approach. Instead of: "Before I make a clone of my hard drive I would like to fix this problem so I only have one account with everything in it but I do not know what to move ... or how to safely move it", I would make that clone immediately. And leave it alone until you have completed the reconfiguring and rearrangements you plan to do. This way, if you accidentally do something that needs to be undone, your clone is there with all the originals. By the way, this is the approach I always adopt, whenever I have to do anything drastic with an existing installation.
    After all the rearranging etc. of the main drive you just make a new clone that erases the previous one.
    The "Deano" account doesn't show up when I go to System Preferences:Accounts. So I assume I must have done something wrong.
    This would suggest to me there is only one account, i.e. the principal, or Admin account. Why do you think there is a second account?
    Where should I keep all my work files?
    You can keep them where ever it is most convenient. As you know, you can create folders within folders, and there is nothing special about the Documents folder. Feel free to ignore it, if that's the way you want to work. You can direct your downloads, the default "save to" locations etc. to the appropriate places, as you work.
    Can I create a new place for all my work files and just move them? I know I will have to update linked files within the various software packages but this is not a problem.

  • Podcasts won't update and I can't subscribe to new podcasts

    When my podcasts are supposed to update they all just get the grey circle with arrows on it beside them and none of them actually update. Also I can't subscribe to new podcasts when I press the subscribe button nothing happens.

    I had this exact problem & fixed it by forcing a new /User/Library/preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist file to be created. (I renamed the existing plist to "com.apple.iTunes.plist_bak" so I could go back to it if necessary).
    When you do this, iTunes will start up with the original setup menus - but you should not reimport your mp3s, etc - the existing library files will still be valid, etc.
    After doing this, the podcasts loaded as usual...

    What happens, when you try to launch Aperture? Any error message? Which error messages exactly?
    Where is your Aperture library located? On your system drive or an external drive?

  • I can no longer create new folders in Windows 7; could this problem be a result of recently reinstalling Firefox?

    I'm using Windows 7 Home premium on an HP Pavilion laptop. Maybe two weeks ago, I stopped being able to create new folders in the Windows Explorer box; I click the "New Folder" button, and nothing happens: no error message, nothing. Around two weeks ago, I also reinstalled Firefox to get rid of some adware virus (success: the adware is gone!). I do not recall the exact timing on when I did the reinstall and when I stopped being able to create new folders, but I'm wondering if the folder problem could be related to the re-install. And if so, what can I do about it?

  • My home page is google and it works but when I open a new tab it displays an error message :Firefox can't find the file at chrome://quick_start/content/index.ht

    I've made sure a dozen times that my home page is set correctly, and when I hit the home button next to the search bar it works and takes me right to google BUT whenever i open a new tab i get the error that my page cannot load and the web url that it keeps trying to remember is in the error message:
    Firefox can't find the file at chrome://quick_start/content/index.html.
    of course the last dot is not the url anymore but the end of the sentence for the error message, but i don't ever use chrome ever on my laptop only my cell so what is going on????? help fix god please!!!!!!

    Do you have the FastStart extension?
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

    I have one of the original iphones that works but I no longer use (as in I paid $700 for it when it first came out). I just gave it to my nephew and my brother tells me Apple and ATT don't support it and he's being told that it can't be set-up as a functioning phone? That the current version of itunes won't support it either? Does this make sense to anyone? Could this be true? I'm on my 3rd iphone version and the first 2 work I just upgraded so now the old phones can't be used? I gave the same nephew a much older flip phone that still works and it has phone service.... Thoughts?

    Until this last November, I was using a Blackberry Curve. I was visiting a friend and complained about the trackball giving me fits. He went to his kitchen junk drawer and pulled out his very first iPhone 2g and tossed it to me. I've been using it ever since without issue.
    If the phone is in proper working order, it should only take a call to AT&T to order an appropriate plan and sim card. The original iPhone is still fully supported by AT&T and iTunes. While iOS support does end with version 3.1.3 and more and more apps do require iOS4, it still affords a very reasonable user experience. So reasonable, in fact, I am reconsidering my original plan of upgrading to the iPhone 4 this month. What can I say? It kicks BB Curve behind and does everything I need using a sweet grandfathered calling and data plan! laugh

    Also, I am trying to connect my Mini from the mini-Displayport to the Displayport of my Dell U2410 monitor.  The image is very grainy,even though it is set to the correct resolution: 1920 X 1200 at 60Hz.  If I use HDMI to VGA input, the image is much clearer.  Is there a way to get the Displayport to work?

    I'm having exactly the same keyboard issue.  Certainly nothing has ever enhanced my concentration while coding like suddenly becoming unable to type.
    I'm seeing a great many devicemgr and rake errors in my system log.  I don't know if they're related.  How 'bout you?
    If you're unfamiliar with the system log…
    Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.
    If necessary, choose View > Show Log List.
    system.log is at the top of the FILES section.
    Try searching it for hot words like DEBUG, FATAL, and aborted.
    I've found some discussions that would tend to indicate my errors are postGres related – I'm running OS X server.

    Expanding on what deggie said, with an iPad 1 the app you're using must support video out. Only the iPad 2 can mirror the screen. The apps included with the iPad that output to external monitors are given here:
