IMAP emails not working on Wi-FI

We have recently bought Iphone 6's.
When trying to connect to IMAP accounts across any WI-FI the IMAP email accounts will not download to the phone. 
I have deleted the accounts, and turned the phone off, and then re-added the account and still no joy.  Reset Network Settings and that has not worked either.
As soon as the I turn off Wi-Fi the email connects via cellular connections and download fine.
I have an Exchange Accounts and these work just fine on both.
Please anyone have some advice or suggestions.

    I have the same problem. For years I have been able to delete emails from my ipad and have them remain on the server so I can deal with them on the desktop. Now they get deleted from the server when deleted from the ipad, which makes the ipad unless for reading mail.
    You answered to delete the email account on the ipad and set up a new one as a pop. I have made many attempts to do that in the  incomping mail server "Host Name" field but it always errors out even when the host name is equal to what my desk top has. So I can see no way to change away from IMAP. I started with an ipad 1 and now have an ipad 2.

    You don't. Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. Instead of creating a new ID, change the primary email address on your existing ID.

    @Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
    UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
    Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
    You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
    Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
    Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
    Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
    IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
    You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
    Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
    I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

  • Sharing by email not working in PSE10

    Hi there.  I upgraded from 6 to 10 yesterday and things were going relatively smoothly until I tried to email some attachments.  I'm operating on a Windows 7 computer and was trying to share via email attachments.  I select my photos and the contact that I want to send it to and then it just goes into limbo with the little moving circle.  One time the actual message box came up, but then my attachments were too big, so I reselected some and I haven't been able to get the message box to come up again.  Just been trying to do one picture as a test, so its not a size issue at this point.  With an old computer I used to do it through Outlook, but don't have that on here as it is a work computer and we use Notes, so I was using the Adobe Mail Services option tied to an email which did get verified.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.  Amy

    Thanks for trying, but what you have suggested did not work.  Every time I try to share photos via email, the software crashes.  This is extremely frustrating.  As far as I am concerned, this software has been a huge waste of time and money.

    2. Under 'edit' menu select 'edit->preferences->Adobe Partner services'.
    3. Click on 'clear online service data'. Press 'yes' followed by 'Ok' in coming dialogs.

    5. Again Under 'edit' menu select 'edit->preferences->Adobe Partner services'. Now click  on 'refresh' button. Click 'ok' in coming dialog.

    I'm having the same issue, but slightly different - since upgrading to Mountain Lion the Inbox folder doesn't come across.  If I right-click on the account and select "Get Account Info", the 'Inbox' folder does not appear in the Mailbox list.  I've got a support email into GoDaddy but haven't heard from them yet.

    Nope, doesn't pass verification. I get the spinner for a minute or so, then the alert about setting it up without SSL. Are you suggesting I disable Fetch and Push BEFORE I enter the account details? Because I never get past the account details screen, unless I choose "Set up without SSL" after the warning.

    I had a bad experience with my gmail account. It was really slow. 15min looks to work but it won´t make it faster as push email is not supported by gmail when using nokia devices ( I have read it somewhere on a gmail mobile compatibility chart at google help pages)
    I have created an ovi mail account and it works as push email on my c6 00 (latest firmware). I have setup gmail to send a copy of all the incoming emails to my ovi account, so I have instant feedback at my phone of incoming mails.
    The bad news of this workaround is that when I reply i´m doing it from my ovi account where y erase the mails after reading as I have the original mail at gmail.
    I hope this helps someone that needs push+gmail.

  • Why will IMAP email not send from Mac OS 10.10.1 Yosemite Mail even though it is configured the same as on my old Macbook (and emails are sending just fine on the old computer)?

    I can receive but cannot send IMAP email on my 1&1 mail account from Mac OS 10.10.1 Yosemite Mail on my new Macbook Pro. The account is set up the same port, password, username, server name as on my old Macbook and emails are sending just fine on the old computer.
    When I hit send on the new Macbook Pro running Yosemite I get this message:
    "The connection to host ... on port 993 failed.
    Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent."
    It shows the server as (offline)
    I've tried erasing and typing in the password.  I've tried both checking and unchecking Automatically detect and maintain account settings. Still cannot send.
    I also have a Gmail account and it is working...

    email service uses an Incoming Server and an Outgoing Server. Mac Mail makes access to the Incoming Server(s) obvious, and hides the settings for the outgoing Server(s). A quick and easy way to get access to the Outgoing Servewr settings is to use:
    Window > Connection Doctor ...
    ... then click on the red light for the Server that is not working for you to see its settings.

  • Email not working, with 3gs, 4, and 4s

    Please help me out, I've searched this issue numerous times in the past couple months. When I had my 3gs, my email started to not load on my phone a couple months ago. I got the "imap.xxx server is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in mail settings" whenever I would go to check my mail manually because there was nothing being pushed. I would get 2 errors, 1 for each account. 1 is a gmail, 1 is an other. It's an intermittent problem that I used to be able to solve by going into settings, turning "off" that mail account, go to the inbox, then back to settings to turn it back "on". This would work every time. Then after a couple weeks, that stopped working every time. I also tried just turning it off and back on and doing soft resets. That worked most of the time as well. After a while, all of those options stopped working 90% of the time. Then I switched to the 4s a couple weeks ago and the problem is worse. It goes days without working and I can't figure out a way to get it to work. I've searched and have seen the workarounds for gmail, but it's doing it for BOTH accounts, so the problem isn't with gmail. I deleted the accounts and added them back in as well. That worked initially, but the same problem came back up within 5 minutes, or about 3-4 manual fetches.
    What I HAVE noticed is that most of the time while I'm at work, it will fetch fine if I turn off wifi...but it doesn't work every time. It's not just work wifi (we have 2, tried both), it's the wifi at home as well. Even tried an open wifi wherever I was yesterday and nothing. This seems to be my ONLY lead at this point. I've had the same settings for years, never changed them, and this problem just started about a month or two ago.
    My co-worker with an iphone 4 also says she has been having the same problem...we're both AT&T.
    It's very intermittent. Sometimes it will be days without being able to load, sometimes it will be minutes. I finally decided to ask for myself because it's been days of no email and as I'm finishing typing this, I get a push email notification...I swear Apple and AT&T are messing with me   I've had this issue on ios4.x, 5, and now still 5.0.1.       

    Interesting thing happend when I got home . . .
    Found that my home network was up and running, but the power cord to the cable modem fell out.  So, no internet connection.  Once I reset the nework, I was able to get all my e-mail accounts set up and working again on the iphone.
    When I got to work this morning, I had the same problem as yesterday.  Turned off wifi on the iphone and now everything works.
    Checked the office wifi and it is working fine. Although the signal is weak in my area of the office.
    Seems like IOS is not smart enough to know when wifi is available, but the external connection to the internet does not work.
