IMAP/Exchange Server integration - finally getting all of my folders

This may or may not be the right place to post this - moderators, please move if not.
My IT guys were able to get my iPhone talking to our Exchange 2003 Server via IMAP earlier in the week - they had to turn on the IMAP service and open the appropriate port(s). Problem was, I was only seeing my inbox. If my path prefix was set to "INBOX", I saw the inbox plus any sub-folders under inbox. If the prefix path was set to "/", I saw only the inbox - no subfolders under inbox and no other folders at all.
After testing and surfing, I finally found a solution. This may or may not work for you but as I sit here now, I have full access to ALL of my Exchange folders. AND, it also solved the issue of items sent from my iPhone not going into my Sent Items on the server side and deleted not going into the server Deleted Items. [Still no solution to the riddle of items deleted from my inbox still leaving a copy in my server inbox).
I deleted all of my mail accounts on the iPhone. Just to be sure, I powered off the iPhone and then back on (I've been a Windows guy for too long, I guess - reboots are a way of life on the other side). I then set up a new IMAP account (not Exchange - I set it up as IMAP under Settings/Mail/Add Account/Other) using all of the same setting as my old account (which was set up as Exchange instead of Other). I did not change anything under Advanced. Presto! I checked my Exchange account and I had every folder - all of my private folders and even all of the Public folders on the Exchange server.
To solve the problem of making sure I got my Sent & Deleted Items to go into the appropriate Exchange folders, I went into Advanced mail settings on the iPhone and changed the default location of Sent & Deleted to their respective counterparts on the Exchange server.

I had the same experience. It was just frustration and not knowing anything else to try that made me set up the account under IMAP4 when a specific Exchange option is available.
As to the deleted item question, I posted this in another thread:
I haven't had a full day to verify this but the settings-Mail-account - advanced has a default setting of NEVER under the remove option. I take this to mean that it never removes deleted items. I changed it to one day since there is not a "immediate" option.

  • How To Setup A Local Exchange Server Integrated With Office365 For A Single Mailbox

    Hello,
We recently migrated to Office365 but had an issue since we need more than 16 simultaneous connections to a single mailbox. Because of this, we need to deploy a local Exchange Server that will be used to host a single mailbox that requires up to 500 simultaneous
connections for a Contact Center application. I'm looking for information on how to setup the local Exchange Server to basically create a local instance of a mailbox hosted on Office 365. So we can have our application open the numerous simultaneous connections
to our local server which will then connection to Office 365 to send/receive email through the mailbox hosted on Office365.
Please let me know if you have any information or resources you can direct me toward.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi,
To deploy local Exchange server integrated with Office 365, we can depend on Exchange Server Deployment Assistant:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exdeploy2013/Checklist?state=2419-W-AAAAAAAAQAAAAAEAAAAAAAA%7e
Please note that there may be 9646 error if there are many simultaneous connections at the same time.
    Thanks,

I should have 40 folders in my inbox but currently only 12 ported over, how do I get ALL of the folders to appear?

Open Firefox -> Go to View -> Toolbars -> Chechmark on "Navigation Toolbar"
this will bring back your address bar (where you type links to go to websites :P )

  • CRM 5.0 and microsoft exchange server integration

    Hi,
I'm facing problem in setting up email integration in SAP CRM.
What I woul like to achieve is that an email sent to the call center should be see the email in this way:
    from: customer email
    to: [email protected]
The exchange server responsible says that it is not possible to do this but exchange has to change the "to" domain before sending the email and so the call center agent should see in the inbox an email like this:
    from: customer email
    to: [email protected]
    Is it right? Any hint?
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Roberto

    Hello Roberto,
E-Mail rerouting is possible with an Exchange server. We use an adress [email protected] provided from the Exchangeserver. The mail is then forwarded to [email protected] to be retrieved by our CRM System for further processing. Please ask your Exchange admin again. I think he has to get wome more information about configuration possibilities.

  • How do I get all my sub-folders from Yahoo to show up in Mozilla

I installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my Home PC and Office Laptop. On my PC all my sub-folders were imported automatically. On my Laptop Thunderbird is not showing all the sub-folders I use in Yahoo to keep my emails organized. This is not the local folders that I can set up in Thunderbird. It's the folders I have created in Yahoo for years.

Pop mail accounts can only connect to server, check Inbox for new messages and download from the server Inbox to the mail account Inbox in Thunderbird. This is how all pop mail accounts work.
You can get other emails in other folders downloaded by logging on to webmail and moving the emails back into the Inbox and then click GetMail.
Suggest you do this one folder at a time.
Imap mail accounts see a remote view of the server folders. You subscribe to see folders. You can also choose to synchronize folders.
If you want to see various server folders then you have to use IMAP.
You cannot change a pop into an imap, there are many differences.
Create a new exisiting mail account and make sure it is an IMAP setting before you click on 'Done'. Use 'Manual config' button if necessary to change settings.

  • Can't seem to get all the bookmark folders in alfabetical order

I have tried just about everything to get my bookmark folders in to alphabetical order most are right but at the bottom of the list there are quit a few folders that are not. I have tried the organize bookmark command than the view than sort than by name but it just wont do it.

I can't get all of my bookmarks in alphabetical order either and I find it utterly preposterous that something as simple as organizing bookmarks turns into a cumbersome search over the internet.
What is maddening is that there is something in Firefox that will alphabetize your bookmarks, but only in half-ass fashion leaving you to scratch your head and ask the question, "what were they thinking?"
What I mean by half-ass is that when I go to "Organize Bookmarks..." highlight the bookmarks menu and then select Views-->Sort-->By name I find that the book marks are not in order after I am done. Why have these buttons if they clearly will not work. I plan to video tape this and put it on YouTube to expose the utter stupidity in something that ought to be trivial.
Has anyone ever considered the case where a user has so many bookmarks that they NEED to be in alphabetical order?
Every computer on the planet organizes ALL files and ALL directories in order. So, tell me, where is the logic in the way Firefox organizes their bookmarks (seems to be chronological)? Chronological might be okay for a small number of bookmarks (like five or so) or recently bookmarked pages, but I have hundreds of bookmarks!
There's a reason why we alphabetize things. How does one find a book in a library?
In Firefox I have organized bookmarks in a directory (and I think this might even work), but this still doesn't address the issue I have with needing to have EVERY file and EVERY folder in ALPHABETICAL order! WTF? This is just idiocy.

  • Security Update for exchange server 2013SP1 KB3011140 Stops all services and failes to install

    Hi All,
Over the past 2 days this update has tried to run on the server in the evening but ends up failing. When it fails it is causing all of our exchange services to stop working and when we try to check e-mails the following day we find out the e-mail service
has been offline since the update.
Is there anything specific we need to do before running this update?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
As what Hotaka says, this update is available from
Windows Update. If it fails, we can also download and install the updates manually. The following stand-alone file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Service Pack 1 package now.
Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 6 package now.

  • Exchange Server 2010 - Authentication fails with DC

I have implemented Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory on Server: DC1
I have Implemented Exchange Server 2010 SP2 on Server: EMLSERVER
Previously MDeamon 5.5 was using for Messaging Services.
Manager told me he want only email server to be available after office hours.
For Exchange Server 2010 we have to power on two servers AD and EXCH.
For This reason i install AD on Exchange Server 2010 and Transfer all Roles from DC1 to EMLSERVER.
Now EMLSERVER is our AD and EXCH, and DC1 is our ADC.
To check this configuration i power off current ADC old DC (DC1).
when i try to test OWA, it was not working, and i get HTTP 500 Error, i try to troubleshoot it and finally after enabling Form Based Authentication Service HTTP 500 error has been resolved and i get OWA Page there when i try to Authenticate with Username
and Password i have got  HTTP 400 error and i am sucked now.
Can anyone suggest what should i do now.

The Requirement is that I have to provide a solution that is equivalent to MDeamon 5.5, where Company have just one DC which is use for authentication and group policy on Windows and another server which is MDeamon email server.
After office hours they power off DC and just email server is power on.
Therefore new solution must fulfill the same requirement, and in this scenario I have to put DC and Email together so that there is no power overhead.
1- Yes new DC which is together with Exchange is Global Catalog.
2- All Microsoft Exchange services are running.
3- There is no smart card authentication, there is just User/Pass require to authenticate.
4- Old DC/ Current ADC has been powered off after verifying transfer of all AD roles.
5- Previously I have installed DC on DC1 server and Exchange 2010 on EMLSERVER and it was working fine.

  • Go To Server doesn't see exchange server, other connections OK

    Long story:
I was on our Exchange Server yesterday with Entourage and was seeing mail and calendar fine. I was opening shared calendars and Entourage suddenly quit. Attempting to restart Entourage caused it to quit part way into booting. I reloaded Office but no joy. I finally had to throw away the Entourage preferences to get it to reboot (verifying and rebuilding the dB claimed to work, but Entourage continued to crash). So...
I am now trying to start over and simply sync a new Entourage account with the Exchange Server. Both ethernet and airport connect to the LAN, but I cannot get either to see the exchange server. I get an error that says something like, "Connection Failed, The server may not exists or is not operational at this time..". My desktop Wintel box is seeing the Exchange Server fine but my MacBook Pro is not. I think something corrupted when I was opening the shared calendars and caused the Entourage dB to corrupt, but something else is still broken. Any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions, direwolf8 - I tried all of what you suggest and still no server connection. I think the Entourage corruption was a symptom rather than the problem. If I use the "Go" menu "Connect to Server" item, it shows the correct link under "favorite servers". When I try to connect, I get a "connection failed" error. The IT guys and I have been all over Network System Preference and can't find anything out of order. I have compared the settings with the Wintel box, and they are the same. I think there is a network preference or something that is glitched, but haven't been able to trash the right thing yet.

  • Transfer Keyword doesn't getting all columns for BSEG

    Hi Guys,
When i am downloading the data from SAP into Application server.I am getting all the columns into my Charatcer type final Internal table.when i am using Open data set for opening th file in Application server and using transfer keyword for transferring the data into Application server path which i mentioned.I am getting
only 60 columns for Bseg table out of 310 columns.can anybody tell me why is like that?Very urgent.
    Thanks,
    Gopi.

How  did you know that it is tranferring only 60 columns?
You would probably have looked at AL11 transaction which can only show limited width(Some 256 chracters i guess).
But the data will be there.
To check if the data is there or not, you can read the same file from teh application server and show on a report or download to PC again.
or use CG3Y to transfer the file on the AS to the PS and see if all the columns are coming or not.
    Regards,
    ravi

  • Cannot contact Exchange Server or open Outlook Web Access in Safari

I am a small business user operating in an Exchange environment and have been having some connectivity problems:
    1. Mail: I have been able to connect to and download emails from my Exchange server in Mail (both public and private folders) but have not been able to send mails through the same account. The server address is the same address as we use for Outlook Web Access (OWA). We do not use POP or SMTP, nor do we have separate addresses on the Exchange/OWA account.
    2. Safari: For some reason, it is not possible for me to open OWA; Safari just "hangs" indefinitely and does not prompt for password or username. The window just remains blank. My OWA works perfectly with Windows-based machines.
    3. Address: it is not possible to contact the Exchange server from Address Book to synchronize contacts. I keep getting an error that "iSync couldn't connect to Exchange". As I have just purchsed an iPhone, it is critical to make this work, otherwise I have no contacts on the iPhone.
In all cases, my Exchange/OWA server address is *https://mail.servername.com/exchange/username* for both outgoing and incoming mails. I have checked that the password and username are correct.
Can somebody help me here? Is there a server or client side adjustment that needs to be made? Are there any special certificates that are required? Making this work is really important...
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have the exact same problem as you have detailed in your #2 comment. OWA just hangs and will not proceed to the sign in screen. Any luck getting support on this?

  • Outlook 2013 Can't connect to Exchange or ping Exchange server.....Very Weird!!!!

The CEO of one of our clients has 2 workstations we'll call them Old and New Dells.
He'd RDP into his new Dell and Outlook will not connect to Exchange and eventually stops responding. His old Dell work just fine.
We restarted the new Dell and the problem persists. I tried pinging the Exchange server and don't get a response. I ping the other servers in the network and I get responses from all of them. On the new Dell I tried going OWA and the website failed to load.
The old Dell has no such issues. Not sure what's going on and could use some guidance. I tried disabling the firewall and that didn't work. It looks like it's only affecting his new Dell, I have not heard of any other users reporting problems. Any ideas?

    Hi,
Since you can't ping the Exchange server, it's more likely a server side issue. This forum is for general questions and feedback related to Office client side issues, it's better to post your question to the Exchange server forum to get further assistance:
