    My emails were working good on my ipad3, but all of sudden it stopped to receive emails, just kept loading. I have two accounts: gmail and yahoo. Neither of them are working. I deleted both account and tried to add back in. But I got the error message said "cannot connect with SSL, would you like to try without SSL?" I chose yes and it said " IMAP is not responding. Check your Internet connection and that you enterred the right information in the incoming mail server"
    I searched on the Internet and found out many people are having this problem, I tried all kinds of solutions including shutting down the iPad, verify gmail setting, Check outgoing mail server... But none of those worked for neither of the two email accounts, and I still cannot add any email account on my iPad.
    Can someone help me with this please? It's so frustrated :(

  • I've been having problem after downloading latest version of iph ... My work email no longer working on my ph and it keeps saying the imap not responding or that user name not correct ... But all this is correct cause on my Mac computer it's still working

    Having problem to reload my imap gmail mail on my iph after the upgrade.  It first stopped working would not download then I deleted the account and now I can't get the account to back in .  It keeps telling me the username is incorrect and password.  But yet my email is on my Mac pc ...

    Same issue in Colorado. And, the worst part is that is impacting my iPhone from receiving any of my other email. My work email (push via "enterprise" gmail) comes through, but my personal email and other POP emails are "Stuck" behind .mac email not being able to connect.
    Why can't we get even the slightest explaination?

    Able to get on the internet with no problem but when I try to set up an email account no matter whether yahoo or gmail I get this message. "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the incoming mail server field. I have done this numerous times with no success.  I deleted all email accounts since they did not work and still have had no success.  The problem has to be with this ipad.  The model number is MB293LL, Serial # V50445YCZ39 VERSION: 3.2.2(7B500).  All pertinent information has been put in properly but the unit still is unable to send or receive any email.  I am wondering if I should reset the entire unit back to factory specs etc.  The form below this asked for an operating system and I put Vista in due to the fact that this system was given to me by someone that I know had Windows Vista on their home computer.  If I can change it I would. I just do not know how at present that is why I am coming to this community.  Thanks for any help.

    I am trying to set up a basic email account through the settings email,contacts etc button on the ipad.  When the list of servers comes up I pick yahoo and fill in the pertinent info as far as the correct email address and password. When I try to save it the ipad is the thing that comes up with this message "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is not responding.  I have no idea where or how it comes up with this but that is what appears when I try to save the account information it request.  The info that JimHdk sent does not work either.  Thanks for any help.

  • Emails without content, "IMAP server not responding", missing password etc.

    I'm having heavy issues with the email app on my iP4.
    It started yesterday when it showed up my inbox like this:

    I rebooted without success.
    All of a sudden it worked again when I checked about half an hour later.
    Today in the noon the same error, but it stays the same for hours now.
    I rebooted, switched off and on without success.
    I deleted the IMAP account, rebooted, started to create the same account. Then I am asked if I want to configure the acc. without SSL (which is not needed), I say No and save the acc.
    When I want to check my emails it says that there is no password configured, so I go into settings, set it up again (and I am sure that I set it right at first setup), check email again and get the message that the IMAP server of the acc. does not respond.
    This is driving me nuts. I had this issue 2 or 3 weeks ago already and restored from a backup, after that it worked ok. Last week I installed everything from scratch, it took me 2 days to reconfigure my phone for my needs.
    Maybe someone has an idea before I send my phone in...
    PS: This applies to several email providers. On my wife's 3GS everything works fine.

    I have been the same issue on my iPhone 4 since last saturday (01:34 A.M, Paris time).
    My iPhone cannot sync anymore with my gmail account using IMAP protocol ! It has been working fine on different generations et now, it just won't !
    All my other accounts work just fine and it's not related to some kind of wireless operator limitation.
    I have googled this and found out that people are having the same issue. I tried everything but nothing solves it !
    Any bugs causing this ?

    I am connected to 3G, I tested my card on another phone it works no problem.

    Ps: it works in wifi.

    I just received my new replacement Iphone 4 yesterday.  There was a hardware issue with my original Iphone 4.  I cannot send or receive Yahoo emails?

    I did all that plus I also changed my password etc.

    One thing to try is it's  possible one or more Mail setting is corrupt on your iMac. Go to Mail - Preferences - Accounts and locate your AOL account. Then re-input all of the settings even if they look OK. If that does not work you can use Apples Mail Troubleshooting article at:

    If that does not help then contact AOL directly and ask for some help, it's their mail system.

    I just got an iPhone and am trying to set up my Yahoo email account. I've tried multiple times and failed. The error message I'm receiving is "The IMAP server 'apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "Incoming Mail Server Field".
    I didn't have to enter any info for the incoming mail server (nor is there an option for it). Also, my phone's WiFi is working so I'm not sure what the problem is.

    Contact Google for further information.  They have made changes to Google mail.  You may now need to use the Gmail app

    Other times the Wi-Fi connection works fine and it check e-mail or other within few seconds. The connection problems seems to be intermitted
    This issue never happened before with IOS 5 since I bought the new phone in Oct 2011.

    We suffered the imap.gmail.com server problem After an IoS 6 upgrade. The simple solution is to delete the problem account, shut down the iPad, start up again and reenter the account. Everything comes back normally. Good Luck everyone!

    We have had a VPN solution in place for many years. We have a Windows Server 2012 Standard edition member server on our domain with NPS/RRAS setup on it. Routing and remote access has always worked fine. There is just one NPS policy which
    is setup to allow connections and authentication is determined on whether the connecting user account is a member of a 'VPN' security group. Our office router, a Draytek 2830 acts as the gateway and is configured to forward the relevant VPN port traffic
    to the NPS server. The Draytek uses port forwarding for a variety of things (IMAP, SMPT etc), and these continue to work fine.
    Late on Friday, one of our remote staff rang up and said she could not connect via VPN from her Windows 7 Professional laptop. When she tried to connect she said that error 718 was displayed stating the remote computer did not respond in a timely manner.
    Today, I have tried connecting from home and I am seeing the same error on my Windows 8.1 Pro desktop.
    I made some configuration changes to the Draytek router in our office last week and had configured it to accept a LAN to LAN VPN connection from a remote Draytek router. This is configured between the routers themselves - additional configuration
    of our Windows server is not required.
    Please note that the LAN to LAN VPN connection has not yet been tested as the remote Draytek router is not in place. Configuration of our office router (the receiving router) is straight forward - you configure a 'profile' (which you
    select from a numbered list), to accept incoming VPN connections, and the profile can be 'on' or 'off'. Today, after I received the 718 error I turned this profile off and rebooted the router but am still seeing the same error. Also, please
    be aware that I had configured this router to accept incoming VPN connections from a remote Draytek in the middle of the week and that remote staff were still able to create 'traditional VPN' connections without any problems.
    I have a backup of the configuration of our office Draytek before I made the changes but cannot apply it until I return to work tomorrow. However, I am not convinced this is the cause of the problem so if anyone has any experience with error 718
    while trying to establish a VPN connection I would be extremely grateful if you could share any tips I might use to troubleshoot it.

    Thanks for your response. The problem was due to me not fully understanding the implications of the router configuration. Under the VPN and Remote Access settings for Remote Access Control you choose which protocols are going to be used for the LAN to LAN
    connection. I had blindly followed the guide which used PPTP.
    What I had not realised was that the guide issued by Draytek assumed there were no other incoming VPN connections.
    Because the router already used NAT to redirect port traffic, selecting PPTP for LAN to LAN disabled the NAT settings for PPTP and staff using 'on-demand' VPN connections were unable to connect because the PPTP was being treated as a LAN to LAN connection. Authentication
    for the connection was failing because the router did not recognise the users' Windows domain account. Also, the there is a small explanatory note stating this will happen on that setting but I had not read it properly.
    Once I changed the LAN to LAN protocol to L2TP and unchecked the PPTP option staff were again able to use 'on-demand' VPN connections.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
