IMAQdx USB Camera low Resolution -- "For internet Use" Option?

Hello,
I have a USB camera that is directshow compliant. The resolution of the camera should be close to 2600x2000 (not sure on exact). When I see available "Video Modes", the highest resolution is 352x288 resolution.
The company supplying the camera told me to uncheck "For internet Use" in the property Panel to help fix the resolution problem.
I don't see this option anywhere. I looked in the IMAQdx property node as well for any "internet attribute"
Any ideas on where this option is or how I can fix this poor resolution?
Thanks,
Tony

Hello Lawrence,
I contacted the vendor and they sent me a "registration entries" file. To update you just open the file. I was using a Moticam camera and the original SDK didn't allow for some of the changes in the directshow driver so that is why they sent an update. If you are also using Moticam, I can send you the same file, otherwise, contact the vendor directly.

Check the App Store for apps that allow you to change the pixel dimensions of the photo. I use PhotoForge2 and it does a wonderful job of that by allowing you to move a slider to change the dimensions of the photo. Unfortunately Google purchased the company that made photoforge and it is no longer in the App Store. Thee are undoubtedly some other apps that will do what you want.

You need to remote onto the server and go into start->control panel-Administration-> ODBC (or sometimes start->administration->ODBC) and set up ODBC connections . Make sure you set them up on the system tab, then you should see them in EAS. I don't remember, b ut don't think you need to restart the Essbase servise for them to take effect

  • Has anyone used the QuickUSB module (Bitswise Systems) to interface to a USB Camera via IMAQ for USB?

Has anyone used the QuickUSB module made by Bitwise Systems with LabVIEW for image acquisition.   I have a USB camera and I'm trying to use the IMAQ for USB controls to no avail.   Any input is appreciated.

Are you using the NI-IMAQ for USB functions or are you calling the QuickUSB libraries from LabVIEW?  Unless the USB camera is DirectShow compliant, then it will not work with the NI-IMAQ for USB driver.  You can use the Code Interface Node in LabVIEW to call external dll's, and it looks like from QuickUSB's website that is the best way to go.  Hope this helps.

  • Low resolution AirPlay when using MacBook Pro but high when using iPad

I have a very strange issue. When I use Airplay from my iPad the image on the television is very clear and sharp, looking like a great HD picture. Wen I stream from my MacBook Pro, or mirror the screen, to the Apple TV the image degrades to a choppy, low-resolution, muddy version that looks terrible! It's strange because I have not had this issue before.
Anyone have any ideas on what is going on with this? Again, the image from the iPad is fine, the image from the MacBook Pro is low-resolution. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

  • Brand new iMac, and the load time for internet use is very poor

Brought my new iMac home today. 2.7 GHz intel core i5
Got it set up with my wireless and i am very unimpressed with the internet and loading speed. My phone, 1 lap top, and 1 ipad use wireless in our house along with the iMac. i have a cisco linksys E2500 is that sufficient enough all of my usage? No gaming more than what a todler would play on. Basic internet use and editing pictures.
My question i guess is, is it my router or are iMac's just not that fast?

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • Reducing resolution for web use

    dear all,
i'm just learning some basic 2d (i work mainly in 3d) and am in the middle of reducing/cropping some of my images so that they fit neatly on a web page. i have a couple of questions:
    1. when i reduce (resample) an image, in the resample dialogue there is no easy way to just reduce by a given multiplier (e.g. 0.5) and at the same time, see what the resulting size will be.
for example - i have an image that is 2592*1944 pixels. i would like to be able to enter a multiplier and see what the resulting resolution would be /before/ i commit to the new size. this is possible in a very old version of corel photopaint that i have and so my first question is can this be done in photoshop or do i have to resize elsewhere?
    2. should i only reduce by certain multipliers or is any value ok? i searched and read a few posts on this but didn't find anything conclusive for reductions.
e.g. i have an image 2592 * 1944 and need to reduce to 600*450. i want the resampled image to look as good as it can. should i reduce by the nearest available mult and then crop the rest or is it safe to just crop straight to the required resolution (assuming that the aspect ratio remains the same)?
    3. final question - if i use the crop tool and specify the resolution, i can scale the cropping area and whatever area i choose will be cropped to the required size. very good if the answer to question 2 is 'YES, you can reduce directly to required resolution'.
however, is it possible for the crop tool to work like this: i set my resolution for the crop tool. now i can see the cropping area on the image. the crop area is exactly the res that i specified and will crop the image without resampling?
    hope that makes sense.
    TIA

    how did i miss that?!
thanks guys - that helps a lot.
in general though, would you say it's ok to reduce by any fraction or should i stick to halves/quaters/tenths etc.
also, any way to set a crop resolution (say 400 x 300) and then choose which part of the image you want to keep WITHOUT resampling - the crop tool seems to fix the aspect ratio which is great but will then resample the chosen area.

  • I'm going to Europe and will have my iPad along, any tips on the best plans for Internet use etc?

Any tips for international use with iPad?

Since storage space is not a limiting factor for you, you might want to take a look at Apple Lossless. Lossless will give you the equivalent audio quality of an uncompressed format such as WAV or AIFF with about a 30% decrease in file size compared to the uncompressed formats. Keep in mind that if you have an iPod, these Lossless fies will severely decrease your iPod capacity. For instance, a 30GB iPod importing the avg. 4 minute song in Lossless will only hold about 1150 songs.
Personally, I use AAC @ 256 which I find comes pretty darn close to the original CD quality with a large decrease in file size. I have a 60GB iPod, so I was willing to sacrifice some iPod capacity for the improved audio quality.

  • FCP3 capturing media for internet use

I was wondering how to capture media on fcp3 for use on the net. Without compressing afterward if possible. Is there a preset I can set up for or is my only chance to compress the video afterward? Example: Load a 3minute clip in as a mp3 or wmv or anything else?
    G4 Flatscreen Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Once it is captured, you can export it to a number of formats if you have the installed codecs.
Having Quicktime Pro is very useful for this as is Sorenson and/or Flash Pro (if you are trying to compress for web use).
One of the great things about FCP4.5 and up is Compressor, which has a great array of alternative output formats.
    good luck.

  • Resizing for internet use

    Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help with this one. In order to upload some photos to the internet they need to be not more than 100 pixels wide by 100 pixels in height, they must also be not more than 10KB in file size. My Aperture photos are normally around 2 megapixels. Is there a way of downsizing to the above dimensions in Aperture?
    Help appreciated
    Pete

I do not have Aperture on the box I am using at the moment, but you can achieve 10KB size in Photoshop by using File/Save For Web with low enough settings. Standard JPEG saves in PS will not go that low.

  • Connecting SonyE K750i + MacBook Pro for Internet use

    Hi there,
i´tried to connect my Mobile Phone Sony Ericsson K750i with my MacBook Pro. It worked so far as i tried so sync both. Or to send pictures from MacBook to the Phone. But, and that gets on my nervs, i tried to use the Phone as a modem - to download my e-mails. I didn´t worked so far. My Provider is O2 Germany. I tried the numbers *99#, 99**1# to 99**6# (APN) and other tricks.
    Does anybody have an Ideeeeeeee!
    Thanks anyway

    a suggestion that worked for me;
    http://www.taniwha.org.uk/files/GenericPhoneScripts2005-09.zip
that file includes a couple of GPRS script for macosx.
if you use one of them as your dialup profile and then instead of dialing your gprs number(*99# or whatnot) enter your APN in the dialup string (i entered "internet"). This way i get a connection to the web through gprs.

  • I'm trying to do a book using iphoto 11 (9.4.2), but i don't get a low resolution warning. Why? and how can i get the warning., i'm trying to do a book using iphoto 11 (9.4.2), but i don't get a low resolution warning. Why? and how can i get the warning.

I'm trying to do a book using Iphoto, but it no longer gives a low resolution warning like it used to in the older versions.
I don't know why it doesn't anymore, (or maybe I have to add it on somehow??) but it makes it difficult to know how much I can
zoom in on a picture and still have it be good printable resolution.
Does anyone know how to resolve this or add the warning to the latest version of iphoto?
    Thanks

With iPhoto 9 the low resolution for photos warning has been dropped. The only warning one will get now is for text that has overflowed the text box:
As Larry suggested send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html to get it back. That's a big omission in my opinion.
You can determine what your minimum resolution is for your images (if all taken from the same camera) by dividing the pixel dimensions by the size of the larges frame in the book which would be 8.5 x 11. If it's at or above 150 dpi you'll be above Apple's previous resolution warning limit.

  • USB Camera and Low level VIs

    Hello all,
I am beginner in LabView and I am seeking help for the following:
I need to adapt a vi using a regular (analog) camera so to start using a USB camera instead. When I viewed the block diagram (which is really complicated for me) I noticed that the original programmer used the low level IMAQ VI's (e.g. IMAQ intil.vi and IMAQ configure Buffer.vi) to communicate, control and acquire images from the camera. Now, I am really confused, does these VIs work with all cameras? If not can I replace them with the IMAQ USB VIs'? How would this affect the other VIs that depends on the out come of the replaced ones? Finally, I would be glad if anyone can point out things to read so to acquire more knowledge about this subject?
I know I asked much but really I want to learn these things as fast as possible
    Best Regards
    Mohammed

    Hello TomBaum,
First, thanks for responding, really appreciate it.
Sorry that I cant send the Vi itself yet I have attached a picture of the part
that I want to modify (red rectangle).
All I want to do is using USB camera instead of the one used now! so does
these  low level VIs work with the USB camera
or I should use the USB camera VIs which will mean that i will end up with many
broken wires since low-level VIs has
different number on inputs that the USB camera VIs
Hope this can give you an idea.
P.S. in case you will wonder about the sequence structure; it is  only the
camera setting that I am interested and it is the one shown in the
    structure
All the broken wires in the picture are going into a very larg while loop with
    many other VIs.
