IMAQdx Windows 7 64 bit install problems

Hello all,
THis is the third time I have installed Vision tools 2010 where IMAQdx did not install and I have had to manually install the missing parts. Anyone had this problem? Is there a fix for this? The software is activated so this is not the issue.
Thanx,

Greetings,
When you say that IMAQdx did not install, do you mean that the install failed or errored out in some way? Or do you mean that the installation just did not happen and you could not see the software on MAX?
And manually install the missing parts, would you mean that you later installed IMAQdx alone and it worked fine?
Finally, when in the process did you activate the software and what was the installation procedure; as in, what order did you install your software in?
Would you happen to be using LabVIEW or simply using MAX? If so, what version of LabVIEW? Finally, would you happen to have some sort of antivirus system that may be blocking some of the installations, particularly those that automatically connect to the internet?
I wish you a great day!

• U410 - Clean Windows 8 install problems

Dear Lenovo,
I'm installing windows 8 pro 64-bit from scratch. Downloaded all the windows 8 drivers from the support site (ofcourse the x64 variants for the 64-bit install), and roughly 75% of the driver packages fail to install correctly. Are you aware of these problems? Result; touchpad not functioning properly, no working wifi (at all, had to use an usb wifi module), 2 unknown modules in device management. Probably more i didnt notice off the bat.
I was also trying to update my bios with the bios package from the download page, and altho this one installs/launches, it states i have an invalid bios file.
Any comments?

• Windows 7 Instalation Problem - Error Code 0xC0000005

I have been trying to install Windows 7 on my, rather old, laptop and it barely gets to the installation screen after inserting the CD into the CD drive when the message appears:
Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible and restart installation. Error code: 0xC0000005
I don't know why this message keeps appearing...
I ran the windows 7 upgrade advisor and it then said that my current graphics adapter will not support Windows Aero user interface and also to upgrade the drivers for my wireless and my ethernet - is it because of this that I cannot install windows 7? And if so, I was also not able to figure out how to find the updates for these...
- Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter
- 3Com 3C920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controllet
- Windows Aero support.
Any help or insight would be extremely welcome.
Thanks.

hi,
0xc0000005 is a critical Access Violation error that requires immediate reaction. As a rule, you get the 0xc0000005 error message when you try to start one of your programs in Windows or install software. The program terminates with the 0xc0000005 message and
you can’t get it work. The most typical causes for the ‘0xc0000005: Access Violation’ error are: corrupt registry, malware, faulty RAM, faulty drivers, incorrectly written, installed or updated software and even Windows security features.

• Itunes 1.11 windows 8 install problems, itunes 11.1 windows 8 install problems

I am running Windows 8 on a Dell XPS16 laptop and was using iTunes v 10 something. When upgrading my iPhone 4S to IOS7 while connected to iTunes running on my PC, the upgrade indicated that I needed to upgrade my iTunes to v11.1 something (the latest version). I proceeded to do this and the upgrade appeared to work OK. However, when attempting to restart iTunes (after a reboot) all that happened was that the iTunes Software License Agreement window opened on my PC. There are no buttons on the window, even after scrolling all the way to the bottom, and no option but to close the window. So my current state is that I now no longer have a working iTunes on my PC.
I have tried many of the suggestions made to others who were also having problems with this upgrade. Each time I downloaded, saved, ran or re-ran an upgrade, the install appeared to work fine and finished normally. Each time the installation populates the \Program Files (X86)\iTunes folders and the properties of the iTunes.exe are as follows:
I thought this was to be a Windows 64 bit upgrade so I'm not sure why it gets put in "...\Program Files (X86)" as opposed to "...\Program Files".
I have tried all of the following and each time I just get the same license agreement window shown previously:
1. Followed an iTunes support link that indicated how to remove and cleanup all Apple software and then re-install iTunes by downloading it and using Run As Administrator to run the downloaded file iTunes64Setup.exe.
2. Tried to troubleshoot the .exe using the properties | compatibility | Run Compatibility Troubleshooter option - no luck.
3. Numerous cycles of download and save the update, uninstall the old, install the new, install/repair the existing, etc.
Note that about a month ago, I allowed iTunes to upgrade itself to version 11.1... and the same thing happened as described above. I spent many hours trying to resolve the issue and finally had to go back to ITunes 10 something. I have, since that time, ignored any iTunes requests to upgrade but in a weak moment when upgrading my phone, I lost my head and let the upgrade proceed! Hopefully someone has a solution to getting the Windows 8 64 bit upgrade working.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Henry.

• ITunes 9.2 and Windows 7 Install problem

I've posted a problem here already, but now I'm on the actual machine. I removed all the Apple software to include removing iTunes 9.1.1.12
I rebooted the machine (running Windows 7 Ultimate)
Download a fresh copy of iTunes 9.2 and it installs up to the part where it tries to start the Bonjoure (spelling) service. I get this error:

A Solution (install iTunes without Bonjour) ... aka "How to Hack the Install"
I've had exactly the same problem using my new iPhone 4 with Windows XP home. I had completely removed a previous version of iTunes and got the same error message giving a 3014 error against Bonjour part way through a fresh install of iTunes 9.2.1.5 ... After much searching on the net in desperation I took the install to the failure point again and then powered off the PC. I was curious what state this would leave the install ... I nosed around the hard disk on startup but the software wasn't there. Then I checked out the temporary folder under my user's "Documents and Settings" folder:
i.e. c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\local settings\temp and in there I found a new folder containing all of the "separate" installable ".msi" files for the different components of iTunes including a file bonjour.msi
The solution then is as follows:
a) Do the install until it fails with the "Bonjour service cannot be started" error.
b) BEFORE you rollback the install (i.e. with the error pop up still displayed) navigate to your "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\local settings\temp" folder and *make a copy* of the .msi files from the created folder (you will find a folder with a random name which is different for each install). You should have the following files (keep them together in one folder):
SetupAdmin.exe
AppleApplicationSupport.msi
AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi
AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi
Bonjour.msi
iTunes.msi
QuickTime.msi
Note that if you try and find the files after cancelling the installation they won't be there as the installer removes them as part of its clean up routine.
c) Roll back the install by cancelling.
d) Completely remove all traces of iTunes, Quicktime etc... see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926
e) Reboot
f) RENAME or DELETE the Bonjour.msi from your copied folder so that the install won't be able to find it.
g) Double click the file from your copied folder iTunes.msi - the install will then go ahead and _will not_ install Bonjour.msi as it cannot find the bonjour.msi file.
I have tried this solution and it has worked using an iPhone 4. There may be some functionality missing in iTunes but as yet I haven't found it. The main thing was to get iTunes installed from scratch so that I could actually use the phone. Since applying the solution I have done an upgrade of the iPhone software to 4.0.2 so the phone is working fine with iTunes.
Hope this helps,
Phil

• Windows Vista install problem

I own a copy of Windows XP from Virtual PC. I therefore qualify to purchase an upgrade copy of Vista, which I did. Since I am a Mac person I assumed that I would simply be asked, upon installation, to provide my old product ID. In the Microsoft world this does not happen. The install disc looks for the previous version. When it can't find one the install essentially stops. I was able to install Vista by ignoring the request for the product ID but then I could not Activate the copy. It works fine but it will cease to work in 30 days. Has anyone had experience with this type of thing? There should be some way around this type of thing. Reading Microsoft user posts it appears that clean installs can only be done from non-upgrade copies. I cannot install my copy of xp first since it does not have SP2 as part of it. I know that I can theoretically slipstream a copy but that seems like a lot of hassle.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your solution. I had everything working beautifully in Boot Camp partition using VMware Fusion, but felt I needed VM's future tech support. In forum discussion and email support w/VM tech supp. learned that VM doesn't support Vista Home because MS doesn't support it through 3rd party, so I used Home's upgrade advisor and found that the only easly instll was upgrading to Ultimate. Tried to install Ultimate upgrade and got message that partition was too small. Long story short, had to erase Macbk Pro's HD and reinstall from Time Machine, which worked great. Boot Camp finally allowed new partition and I used your solution to install. However, I had to load the Home because Boot Camp couldn't find drivers on the Ultimate upgrade. Still, your work around helped. Problems I'm now encountering is that VM can't find the Boot Camp Partition as it did previously. Any ideas there? I can find the Boot Camp drive, but the "open" button stays grayed out. When I go to VM's HD it says 0 GG which doesn't make sense. I'll post a new topic, but I did appreciate your posting.

• Windows 7 Install Problem

I have a Lenovo r61i Thinkpad. The optical drive was bad so I replaced it with a MAT**bleep**A DVD-RAM UJ-862. It is thinner than the original drive but the connector is the same and if I add a shim to hold it up it connects. I believe this is the optical drive used in the T51.
I am running Linux Mint 16 and am trying to install Windows 7 on a virtual machine with Virtualbox. The install starts, but, after a little while I get this error message:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now"
When I put the CD for this drive that containst the drivers etc. that came with the drive the installer scans it but the driver it is looking for is not there. This is actually a brand new drive, however, it is old. I imagine it may not have a Windows 7 driver. Why Windows 7 doesn't have a driver I don't know.
When I go the the Lenovo site for a Windows 7 optical driver for the T61 (because this is the Thinkpad that this drive is for) there isn't one listed.
I when I look around on the web I find different driver download managers, but, I've noticed that the last time I used Windows for any length of time that there were all sorts of formerly reliable sites hosting files that sort of misled you into using their download manager that would install other software and browser extention malware. For this reason and the fact that the computer I am using is Linux I chose not to get this.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be. My install disk is an official disk purchased from a mainline retail store.
Does anyone have any suggestions what the problem is and how to fix it?
TIA

Hi,
That error message is often misleading. It usually means corrupted install media - bad DVD, bad download, bad burn, bad USB media creation. Sometimes it is because a USB install device (flash or optical drive) should be plugged into a USB 2.0 socket instead of USB 3.0.
What it means when installing from DVD into a VM, I have no idea - just that it probably isn't a missing driver.
You might try copying the DVD and see if it throws an error during the copy. If it doesn't, try installing from the new DVD. If it does throw an error then you have a bad original.
You could also try installing from an ISO. Google "legal Windows 7 download notebook review".

• Bootcamp Windows 7 Install Problem

Hi,
I am having problems Installing Windows 7 via Bootcamp on My Macbook Pro 13" Early 2011 (running Mavericks) and was wondering if anyone could help/offer advice.
I took out the optical drive and put in an SSD a while ago, and now I want to install Windows 7 on the SSD. So firstly I tried installing it using a Windows 7 disc and an external optical drive but apparently you can't install it using that method (when you try to install it comes up with a blank screen and blinking cursor). Next I made a bootable USB using an ISO image, and tried to install via the BCA. But when I restart and try to install, it comes up with a black screen saying there is no bootable drive present; I have even tried holding down alt on start up to see what options I have for booting but all I have is the recovery drive and my SSD.
One thing I have read is that I can buy an external SuperDrive, amend the coding in the terminal (or somewhere) which will make the drive compatible with my mac, and then install Windows 7 via Disc through BCA that way. Does any one know if this will work before I purchase one?
Does anyone know of any other methods?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

On Macs with built-in Optical drives, there is no supported method of installing Windows, if the Optical drive has been removed. There are possible solutions, but there are convoluted.
Here is an example - http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=20584499#post20584499
You can put back your Optical drive temporarily, and install Windows.

• Oracle Linux 6.0 64 bit instalation problem

Hi,
I downloaded Oracle Linux 6.0 64 bit from Oracle site. I unpacked it and burned it on dvd, but it can't boot so I can't install it. I could't do it even with virtual machine. I also put disk detection latency to 15 sec so I could give Linux enough time to boot, but it did't help. So any sugestion? :) I have core i7 2600 and Gigabyte UD4 P67 B3, bit I don't think it is a problem.
Thx

This directory contains image files used during the Oracle Linux 6
installation process.
The boot.iso file that is sometimes found in the images directory has
been removed for space reasons. It is available as a separate download
from ULN. boot.iso is an ISO 9660 image of a bootable CD-ROM. It is useful
in cases where the CD-ROM installation method is not desired, but the
CD-ROM's boot speed would be an advantage.
To use this image file, burn the file onto CD-R (or CD-RW) media as you
normally would.

Can anyone tell me what to do

• Labview 2011 64-bit install problem

I'm trying to install the 64 bit version of LabView onto a win7 64 laptop. The install seems to go ok. When I try to run it, it crashes with this exception 0xC06D007E$r. I've tried uninstall/reinstall and I still get the same error. I have the 32 bit version of LabView 2011 installed on this machine and it runs fine. What else should I be looking at?

To address the point made by smercurio_fc, the Program Files (x86) folder is generally reserved for 32 bit applications. As I understand, Windows uses the distinction purely for organization. Having done more reseach, I will concede that we should look for a different workaround.
By your responses, it seems you may not need LabVIEW 32 bit. This article discusses the pros and cons of each version. This Q&A may be particularly useful in deciding whether or not you can continue on 64 bit alone.
Q. Which LabVIEW modules and toolkits are available for LabVIEW 64-bit?
A. Currently, the NI Vision Module, Application Builder, and Measurement Suite for Fixed WiMAX are available for use in LabVIEW 64-bit. Any other modules and toolkits must be run using LabVIEW 32-bit. See this Developer Zone Tutorial for more information.
Depending on your applicaion, this could be our solution If you are able to install LabVIEW 64 bit after uninstalling the 32 bit version.

When initially starting the upgrade process the install only goes as far as 24% to 26% complete before either giving me an error code which states hardware failure or corrupt files. or no error code at all and just freezing at 24% complete and wont go any further. anyone have a possible problem/solution for me to try. I have tried 4 time I even reinstalled vista from partition and tried with the same results.

Hi,
I hope wiping the drive works for yeah.
As far as the psu is concerned, I agree with what the others are saying.
Looking at your psu specs, you only have 24 amps on the 12V rail.
Your video card requirements call for that but you have no head room.
Total watts is not the only way to pick a psu.
How those watts are deligated to the various voltages it puts out.
Plus you want a psu that offers "clean" consistant power.
When you get your w7 installed we can help you pick a better psu if thats what you want.

Under the details tab, you can see this unit is rated at 46 amps.
Being this is a top of the line psu, it delivers that at clean power.
Researched the heck out of this before I bought it.

• Windows 7 install problems: MBP problem?

I cannot mount the Windows 7 (Home Premium 64bit) installer DVD no matter what I do on my new (recvd today) MBP.
The disk mounts fine on my Mac Pro. I also tried the Windows 7 Ultimate DVD I used to install windows on the Mac Pro using Bootcamp and it also refuses to mount. The MBP spits out both of the DVD in disgust (I have some sympathy for that but still...). No. I dont try to insert both at once...
I tried creating an ISO copy of the installer DVD on the pro and then burning the ISO using the MBPs Superdrive. This WILL mount but Boocamp assistant does not recognise it. GAH!
I tried remote disk sharing. Again, the disk mounts fine on the Pro and is shared/mounted on the MBP... but once again Bootcamp assistant refuses to recognise it.
There is something odd about all this and I have ran out of ideas for now... any pointers, suggestions, etc... gratefully received!
This is a new MBP 15", newly rcvd. I have ran update. Pulled out hair. Considered sacrificing a cat. And given up... for now.

Yes I think you are right. I hate computers. And emergent behaviour. My cats are cool tho' ;-)
I have booked a 'genius' session - will be interesting. I do wonder how they deal with folk - I imagine I am an edge case. A bloke with over 20 yrs experience in IT. Probably not a typical Mac user!
Meanwhile I am contemplating alternative approaches. My assumption is that bootcamp manages (or at least attempts) a non-destructive repartitioning of the disk and then reboots to enable the Windows installer to load up. If that is the case then some other partitioning tool could be used to create a new partition. A reboot from the installer DVD should then get me rolling. I have the bootcamp tools & drivers on another DVD ready... so good to go?
My other thought is to set up a thunderbolt based external disk and see of that would work.... but that would be ££££ expensive and Windows 7 may not boot up over thunderbolt. Will have google it I suppose.

• Windows 8 install problem MBR-GPT

So I wanted ti install windows 8 by using bootcamp. I have an iMac mid 2011 21,5'' and Lion. Everything goes ok until I have to pick the disk I want to instal windows. I get the message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. Pn EFI systems Windows can only be installed to GPT disks. Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu" If I try to erase the disk and format it from windows setup I get an error. If I just reformat it I still get the above message abou GPT
Here's a screenshot.... PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

yours sounds like it has two disk drives present and that is why.
details details - one drive for OS X and Windows partitions works / one drive for Windows only and you have to pull the other.
Anyone with a Mac Pro with 4 hard drives knows, but is very easy to slide out and remove drive trays, to only have one drive present - the one where Windows will be installed.
You can unplug a drive. You can backup and format a drive to MBR w/ FAT while you install on another.
Windows 8 does support UEFI, and EFI requires GPT, but not have Apple and OS X on another drive, and Apple EFI is proprietary variant.

• CS6 Windows 8 install problem

I have created a package using AAMEE tool for CS6. When I try to install the msi it fails and when I check the log file it complains about a Sonic driver. CS6 will install fine from the DVD's. Machine is running windows 8 pro.

Hi Karl,
I am looking the log file with notepad. The log file is the one that gets
created if you use the /l switch with the msi.
I am running the msi via command line using /i to install and /passive to
view progress. I have also tried it with the /quiet but get the same thing.
Even if I double click the file I get the same error.
I didn't try running the command as administrator (doh)
I have just tried running the command prompt as administrator then running
the msi file and seems to be installing now
Thank you for your assistance.
Cheers.
