TS4268 iMessage Activation error
My iPad battery accidently went flat. On restarting I get a iMessage Activation error, rejecting the CORRECT name and password. I have signed out of iTunes and tried again with the same result. How do you reset iMessage activation?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

TS4268 iMessage Activation Error - iOS6
I have iPad 2 and I've just upgraded from 5.1.1 to 6.0 but unfortunately I cannot sign in to iMessage, I am gettting iMessage Activation Error saying that my user name or password is incorrect even though I am using it in app store!!
Face Time is working but if I trun it off from the settings and then try to turn it on again i get the same iMessage problem. I restore my iPad and the Face Time works automatically while the iMessage requires me to sign in and then I am stuckI had a similar issue but mine said cannot verify username and password as it was aparently incorrect!
To resolve this i went to generals: App store and clicked on my apple id. when a pop up shows click on view Applie id account. There select the payment process and select NONE in the type of card instead of your visa or mastercard. save it and then you can try getting into facetime., It should be good. It worked for me. Good luck. Lemme know how it goes -

Wi-Fi packet loss + iMessage 'activation' error
Hello
I have two problems:
- Still having WiFi problems after updating to 10.10.3. This is REALLY annoying... When will there be a fix for this core problem?? Everyone is talking about this. When I do a ping to 8.8.8.8, I get a lot of packet loss (around 50%). Most of the time it's in blocks (5 minutes down / 2 minutes up). I tried everything: rebooting router, rebooting computer, adding/removing WiFi in Network preferences, added different DNS, added manual IP,... Other Mac's in the network do not have this problem... It's the operating system.
- I recently changed the password of my Apple ID, now I cannot login to iMessage anymore. 'Cannot Sign In to iMessage'; 'An error occurred during activation. Try again.'. I found a fix via Google, people advice to use Chameleon... But I'd like to rely on official support. This issue is around since Mavericks ...
C'mon Apple... Go back to the philosophy of Jobs' dad: “He loved doing things right. He even cared about the look of the parts you couldn’t see.”. Start fixing this annoying issues for the community!

If your Mac supports Handoff try to disable it and check if there is any progress: System Preferences > General > and disable option Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.
Also, go to System Preferences > Network and remove Bluetooth PAN/DUN if you have these options on the list of your Network Services.
After above steps, reboot your Mac and test it again.

Try this steps first: If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support
If above won't work for you, then i would suggest to create a separate thread for this issue. Otherwise this one will only get messy and soon no one will even look at your thread.

IMessage activation error after iOS 6 update
After the update my iMessages won't activate...? I've tried turning it on and off multiple times, restarting my phone, etc. My FaceTime is working, I've noticed that it isn't for a lot of others after the update. Anyone know how to fix this? Or should I just wait it out?
I also figured out how to use Passbook - it's not set up to work until the iPhone 5 comes out. Set the date to tomorrows date (9/21) and it will work.I too am wondering what you did to get it working. Its been several days now with it hanging on waiting for activation which is very irritating.

4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo -

IMessage Activation could not sign in IOS 8.1.3
I recently had to erase my phone and restore from the cloud. After doing so, I have been unable to turn on iMessage or FaceTime. I'm receiving an error message when I log into iMessage with my AppleID stating "iMessage Activation. Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again."
Tons of threads out there about this. I've tried every solution posted though. I started simple....
- Tried everything from http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201422
- - - Confirmed wifi and cellular connections
- - - Confirmed Date & Time was set to automatically
- - - Turned off, restarted, turned on
- - - Confirmed latest version of IOS (8.1.3)
Then I tried solutions from the internet...
- Turn off IMessage, turn it back on, tried signing into iMessage
- Turn off IMessage, put on airplane mode, turn airplane mode off, tried signing in
- All of the above, and restarted the phone
- Confirmed no restrictions
- Turned off wifi, tried signing in over cellular
- Entered correct AppleID and incorrect password, then when it prompted I entered correct password.
- Reset all network settings, set up wifi again, tried signing in
- Reset ALL settings
What perplexes me is how the phone is able to recognize my AppleID in other areas, such as the iCloud & iTunes.... it logs in just fine. Also, if I put a bogus AppleID into iMessage, it immediately recognizes a bad password.
Somebody please toss me a bone here.So far, I've called Apple support twice with no resolution. I have another call in this morning, though I do not know what else there is left to try.
- We've tried signing my apple id out of all my devices (ipad, ipod, etc).
- We've tried using itunes to restore the phone
- We've tried setting the phone up as a new phone, and signing in to only iMessage
I speculate this is related to the latest IOS release; 8.1.3 -
I am getting an activation error message when trying to imessage
I have an Ipod touch 5th generation running IOS 8.1.2, recently it will not let me imessage or facetime. It is telling me that there is an activation error. Any suggestions? I have seen on apple support to "turn off" Imessage and turn it back on, but I don't even have that option. We have tried turning it off and back on, I have signed out of my apple id and signed back in. Still get the same message, error occurred during activation. Try again.

SSince update 8.1.2---iMessage activation will not occur. Says "an error occurred during activation. Try again
The update to iOS 8.1.3 was supposed to fix that issue, not cause the problem. Unfortunately, it didn't work for many. take a look at one of these two ongoing discussions. You might be able ro find help in one of them.
