Imessage activation problems

I bought an Iphone 5 for Sprint, It was supposed to be free for using it abroad, however I got problems activating Imessage in my country (Peru) my carrier has GSM technology. When I bought it in the apple store, I was told I wouldn't have problems at all, but now I can't use Imessage neither facetime, somebody knows how to fix it?

Who is your carrier? Do you have a texting plan? If you're using an unsupported carrier, do you have a texting plan that permits international texting? If you're using a supported carrier, is your line properly provisioned for use with an iPhone?

Will Apple solve the imessage activation problem?

I've seen hundreds of threads in the internet and also here from people having issues to activate iMessage (including me). I have tried everything and cannot make it work, it always says "activating" and then it fails. I already tried:
- Calling my carrier, they always said "I've reset the settings for your phone, please restart it ad try again" (tried this 5 times with no luck.
- Checked location settings
- Checked language settings
- Tried activating it with WiFi and also with data plan 3G
- I'm able to send and receive SMS to/from all countries
- Restored my brand new iPhone 4S to factory settings (even without restoring my backup to setup everything manually again)
No luck with any of those. This is very frustrating. The funny thing is that my wife also bought her iPhone 4S the same day and she has no issues. We are in the same company, same plan, etc.
Very, very frustrating. I can see in the internet many people with the same problem, this has to be a softwre issue or something related. If anyone was able to solve this, I will appreciate your help!!
PS. Facetime has the same issue

There is no way to know what Apple will do in the future, unless they announce.
Have you tried basics from the manual? restart, reset, restore.

IMessage Activation Problem in Iran

we have problem to activate the iMessage , FaceTime and new IOS 8 Feature in Iran , is there any solution ?
by the last announce of USA Department , the IT restriction is over of Iran , but we cant use the iMessage and FaceTime and any Phone number based services , in Iran .
I guess the +98 Country code is blocked by Apple , and according to last announce about finish of restriction in IT field and services for Iran , I think , Apple may review these restriction to bypass them .
please inform me about the situation and if there is any way to solve these problems .

I want Apple customer care that investigate about this problem , because this is problem of more than 1 million Apple product users in Iran .

but i think in the UK carrier or the UK mobile operator , the IRAN country code(98) , has been Blocked

REAL problems with iMessage activation same with Face Time

I'm having real problems with IMessage activation same with FaceTime, the phone shows the activation is being made but it does not activate!
Apple ID and password is OK, it's working with other applications
Any ideas guys?!

My daughters had the same problem with both of their iPod Touches. One logged back into iMessage and FaceTime, the other consistently would not login with the same error, "An error occurred during activation. Try again."
Check your date and time. Its likely incorrect. Once the date is corrected. Restart the device.
For what ever reason, some devices lose track of the date. In my case, apparently, my daughters change the date to affect a particular game by advancing the date. Little cheaters. (LOL)

I have updated to the ios7 and I am trying to finish the activation with my Imessage
I keep getting this message
"IMessage acitivation
Could not sign in. Please check your network connectio and try again
OK"
I have checked with Apple Support and we checked everything
The tech Greg was very helpful but we did not fix the problem
He suggested it was my carrier
I checked with BELL and they comfirmed that everything was ok on the network end
I have tried the WI- Fi and G3
I am unable to utlize the Imessaging
Can you help me?

Imessage/facetime waiting for activation problem on a deactivated iphone 5

I was just wondering if anyone out there know how to fix the waiting for activation problem for iPhone 5 on 6.1.4
My iPhone 5 is deactivated so it has no service on it. It has a sim card but the sim card doesn't have service and I'm guessing thats the problem.
But i just wanna make sure that it is or if anyones got a solution.

Well I did a restore of my iPhone 5 (deactivated) using my last iPhone 6 backup (activated) and iMessage still failed to activate. It's funny because this worked on my old iPhone 4. I don't know what else I did different.
Does anyone know why Apple does this? Why are they against us using iMessage on a deactivated iPhone?

I get the imessage activation code but nothing happens

im trying to activate imessage, i get the status as "waiting for activation", after an hour or so i got sms from a number starts with 4477 with some programming text and that's that, nothing happened and the status still shows "waiting for activation"
note: i can send imessages but im not getting any, my friends tried several times from several accounts and still the same.
any suggestions please.

That SMS shows that you must not be connecting with the iMessage servers in the UK. Where are you located? Are you using a supported carrier for the iPhone? Normally, supported carriers can send this SMS with no problem, or no cost, but you need to have a texting plan. Hello, I am currently using iOS 7.0.3 on an iPhone 4S and last night I found the problem of my imessage and FaceTime not activating. Recently I just fixed the problem of iMessage not starting. Each time I try to activate iMessage or FaceTime, I get "iMessage activation, an error occurred during activation. Try again." And when I try to sign in it says"could not sign in, check your network connection and try again." Could someone please help me figure out what's going on?!?

SSince update 8.1.2---iMessage activation will not occur. Says "an error occurred during activation. Try again

The update to iOS 8.1.3 was supposed to fix that issue, not cause the problem. Unfortunately, it didn't work for many. take a look at one of these two ongoing discussions. You might be able ro find help in one of them.

IMessage Activation

I can't activate iMessage. I sign in with my Apple ID, but I always get the message:
"Could not sign in. Please check your internet connection and try again."
AND I HAVE A STRONG INTERNET CONNECTION!!!

I tried everything everyone else had ever listed, including a full reset and restore as a NEW phone all to no avail.
As a last ditch attempt, I changed the password on my iCloud account, which was 32 characters long and made it 24. imessage activated instantaneously. Hallelujah and all that jazz.
Changing the password was easy.
Don't as me why but it did. All the other fixes with reboots, resets, airplane mode, time settings,DNS servers, logging in and out etc failed.
I realized that in my case, there was something amiss with the iCloud account because the problem with iMessage activating occurred either on wifi alone (in Airplane mode) or using cellular alone, so it could not be the carrier/network issues. The hard reset/restore as new phone told me it was probably not the phone software. I was about to go to Apple and ask for a new phone under Apple care. This was weird because I could easily log into iCloud with the original long 32 character password.
Hope this adds some help to all you frustrated people.
My solution probably will not work unless you have reason to think your iCloud account is amiss in some way - as noted above

TS4268 my facetime is not even highlighted to be activated and so is my imessage activation swipe is not so how can i make this work???

Help the setting for facetime and imessage activation settingis not highlighted after my update to the latest ios :(

You don't in the condition it's in. You will either have to get the phone replaced by Apple or pay a 3rd party to repair it.

IMessage Activation Additional Email

iMessage with my Apple ID email has been working fine since I aquired my new iPhone 4s.
I am unable to add any additional email addresses in the "Receive At" settings for Messages. When I attempt to add my other two email addresses (Cox.net & Gmail) I receive the following error message. "iMessage Activation: An error occured while verifying your email".
Anybody have a fix for this?

I received the "An error occured while verifying your email" message when trying to add an additional email to receive imessages. I tried this on several differenct devices (iphone 4s, ipod 5, ipad 2). The only way I could get this to work was to log in to appleid.apple.com with my apple id. Add your alternate email address . A verification email will automatically be sent. Go to you email account, open the verification email from Apple and follow the instructions to verify your email. Once you have completed these steps go to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Add Another Email on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. Enter your verified email address and hit return.
While this doesn't solve the problem of being able to verify directly from your ios device, it is a work around to allow you to add additional emails for iMessage.
