IMessage An error occurred during activation. Try again.
Can't seem to get iMessage to work on my iPad. It's working on my Macbook and iPhone. I have tried every suggestion I can find including completely resetting the iPad. Any original suggestions?

If you have not been able to activate iMessage, I would recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article:
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime
Check your device settings
Make sure that you’re connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network. If you're using an iPhone, you'll need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.
Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that your time zone is set up correctly.
Turn off iMessage and FaceTime and restart
Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
Restart your device.
Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on.
Still not activated after an hour?
It might take a few minutes to activate iMessage and FaceTime. If you've waited more than an hour, try these steps:
Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS.
If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.
Contact Apple Support.

Imessage activation error occured during activation try again.
I have updated my new itouch and have tried to activate imessage. I enter my apple accouont and each time I receive the message that an activation error occured during activation try again. I have tried again and again and am at my wits end. Any ideas or help would be appreciated .
I was able to use imessage before having a trip overseas. Then after setting my Date & Time to manual, my imessage could not be activated. I have tried to get a new Apple ID and got it verified. Still it doesnt work for me. Until I read the link http://imbyter.com/2012/01/cannot-activate-imessage/ and changed my Date & Time to automatic, then magic occured

SSince update 8.1.2---iMessage activation will not occur. Says "an error occurred during activation. Try again
The update to iOS 8.1.3 was supposed to fix that issue, not cause the problem. Unfortunately, it didn't work for many. take a look at one of these two ongoing discussions. You might be able ro find help in one of them.

It seems a lot of people are having this problem...you can try restarting your device, making sure Date & Time settings are on automatic, or changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8. However, most people posting about this problem have tried everything including data resets, restores, etc. and it doesn't seem to work. It seems to be an issue on Apple's end with the servers...hopefully they can resolve it quickly

I suspect an Apple server problem. Many users have been reporting problems with Messages and Facetime today.

Its possible that the server can be down now. Have you ever used it before? If you want, try resseting the phone by just holding the sleep/wake key and the home button together for 10 seconds. Then wait 5 seconds when it turns off and press the sleep/wake button to turn it back on. Then try it again. Let me know what the results are.

My ipod's imessage stopped working yesterday and it was going really slow anyway so i did a full reset to factory default and made a new apple i.d, The ipod when i try to log into facetime or Imessage states "an error occurred during activation. Try again." I have looked at the forums and tried changing the dns, date and time, completed a factory reset and infact reset the router to factory default aswell and it still says the same message and there being an error in activation. Help?
