IMessage attempting to Log in forever w/ no luck

disclaimer - i am in another country (mexico), using VPN service to fake being in america
after input of my correct credentials, iMessage just sits with the little circle spinning/thinking forever trying to log in. same with FaceTime.
iMessage/facetime works on my iPhone, just not macbook pro

I can get down as far as step 11 but it shows nothing about upper filters and when I type on "If the Upper Filters entry is missing follow these instructions" nothing happens
Do you mean you can't see the instructions on what to do if there is no UpperFilters entry?
If so, here's the relevant instructions for that step:
On the right side of the Registry Editor window, right-click the UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.
Right-click the empty white space within the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor window. From the shortcut menu, choose New > Multi-String Value.
Name this new value "UpperFilters" (without the quotes). Then, right-click the newly created UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.

When i attempt to log on to my college site i keep getting The connection has timed out. Is there a way of changing the time setting , to fix this?

This message "The connection has timed out" only happens when i attempt to log on to my blackboard account for college. All other log in' work fine.

Thanks. So there's no means of knowing whether a text message has been delivered, not to mention time of delivery. Perhaps I've gone for the wrong phone. It might do a lot but seems to miss out on some basics.

Lightroom crash when attempting to log in to mobile

Running Lightroom 5.6 under Windows 7 Pro. Each time I attempt to log into Lightroom mobile, I get a crash. The application appears to be making contact to the server (window pops up, blue square animation), but crashes every time. I'm installing Lightroom on a second machine now and will attempt to connect here. Any suggestions?
Edit: Installed on a second machine running Win 7 Enterprise and managed to successfully sign in. That's great but I really need to be able to sign in from my primary machine.

I have a new apex 4.1 install on 11.2.0.2 db using Oracle's HTTP server on 64-bit Windows 7. During installation, I pointed "i" directory to c:\download\oracle\apex.
I have the same problem that my http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/apex_admin page is blank.
Browser Firefox's error display pointed to "apex is not defined" in the following two lines of code:

Ichat pop up, you have attempted to log in too many times...

i just got my macbook and ichat worked great for one day.. now it's saying i attempted to log in to many times.. i have tried to change the port to 443, but it didn't work. i couldn't find an "apply" button so i just left it. did i forget something? if i didn't forget anything please tell me how i can fix it...

It is difficult to say if this is your end or the AIM servers.
Historically AIM have updated their Buddy list info by deleting those screen names they believe to be out of use and releasing them for use again.
This has always happened in Early December at about 4 other times a year.
We also have the Leopard release and the interest that has sparked in iChat.
Google have added the AIM protocols to GoogleTalk as well.
If it does not resolve in a day at the most delete com.apple.iChat.AIM.plist from your Home Folder/Library/Preferences and restart iChat.
You may need to reset the port to 443 but otherwise it will use the default info for Logging on.

Can external connection attempts be logged?

Once upon a time I had a Linksys BEFSR router. A very nice feature was that each
connection attempt was logged and the router also broadcast the connection attempt
info ie the evil IP.
It was very interesting to see all of the attempts by hackers to get into my network...
Does the dual band AEBS offer any way ( via SNMP trap?) to capture connection
attempt information?

Yes, just make sure SNMP is enabled in the Advanced pane. And use a SNMP client to monitor the > base station. Any SNMP client that knows the Apple base station MIB should do. If not, you can
download it from here.

I do have SNMP enabled and when I do a walk of the AEBS I don't see any signs of a foreign
(external) connection attempts.
I do something like:
snmpwalk -c public -v 2c router
I just tried increasing the syslog level, to information but nothing new has appeared.
I looked the the screens for airport monitor on the app site but did not see connection
attempts....

Staying logged in forever (Forum)

How do you stay logged in for longer than an hour?
I just get automatically logged out over sometime, and it's annoying.

Well, whatever you say. But I think my question should be clear enough,
When I do something else and have an Arch Forums tab open in a browser on a thread, after a while when I refresh, I notice that I am logged out automatically.
So I want this to stop. There's usually a forum feature that says "Stay logged in forever." So that the user does not automatically log out.
I guess the FluxBB back-end that is used doesn't implement this.

View incoming attempts to log into system

I just bought a new AirPort Extreme Base Station (802.11n) and it works well. However, with my former Belkin G router, I could view all incoming attempts to log into the system (that were blocked). I cannot seem to find any function in the AEBS similar to that. Is there, or is there other software I can use to do so?

Bug in iMessage Can't Log in with different Apple ID

My husband, four boys and I share my iTunes Apple ID to back up data to the iCloud and share music, as I pay for a large amount of storage for all of us. I set up a different Apple ID for my messages, as the boys keep turning on iMessage with MY phone number on the iPad, iPod and their iPhones (sometimes on purpose i think!).
Since i upgraded to the iPhone 6, I can't get it to take my different iMessage login! It took it with no problem for FaceTime, but won't log me in for iMessage and tries to revert back tot he main Apple ID. It is hard to even get it to open the space to put a different Apple ID in - it keeps loading it automatically without giving the option to change it. I have to keep turning it off and trying again in Settings. Finally there and it tells me "Could not log in. Check your network connection and try again." Um - what? It works everywhere else without an issue! I just tested it on the mac. No network errors, password works just fine.
Help! Is this a bug? Where should I report it? What's going on? I need my private texts!

Up to Mavericks in combination with earlier iOS versions it seems that you could use different IDs in different apps.
That is to say the iCloud ID in System Preferences > iCloud could be the same on an iPhone to sync the contacts and other function but a different ID could be used in Messages for iMessages and FaceTime (I would keep theses the same as your Invoke FaceTime for Video chats)
However it does seem that Yosemite and iOS 8.x.x when you want to do Text Forwarding on the iPhone to be able to SMS on the Mac wants or needs to use the same ID all the way round.
Having said that I once used two separate ID on two separate iPhones and this got very complicated on my Mac.
I decided to delete one of the iPhones which I have managed (it never shows up). However the Apple ID keep popping up on various devices when I open them.
Despite me saying "no" when it asks me it does seem to get put through on the Mac.
I can delete the .plist that stores the info but is still gets to show as an unticked option in the Received At list.
(I can see it re-appearing on your children's devices without too much issue).

Like you I do use different ID in different places for various reasons although any form of sharing is not the reason for me. (I just don't want to lose all functions if one ID gets compromised)
It does seem this is becoming more difficult.
