IMessage cannot activate after moving to new operator with same number (MNP)

I recently started using a new mobile operator, but kept my number from the previous operator.
After endless attempts at activating iMessage, I always get "Cannot activate iMessage".
I tried endless things: completely wiping out my device and starting from scratch without restoring from backup, working on Wi-Fi, working on cellular, changing DNS address, logging out of iMessage on my Mac. I have also verified that I am able to send text messages to international destinations.
I'm using an iPhone 4 with iOS 6.1.3.

Hello. I had exactly the same problem, a few weeks ago I switched from Telcel operator to Movistar Mexico and iMessage / Facetime were unable to activate. The point is that in some plans, Movistar does not allow to send "international" SMS , even the fact that you have unlimited messages to national carriers ( within Mexico ). So you have to purchase an additional "recharge bag" starting from 30 MXN , which will allow your iPhone to send the SMS which will activate iMessage / Facetime. This was the fix ! Best regards.

Hola. Tuve exactamente el mismo problema, hace algunas semanas me cambie del operador Telcel a Movistar Mexico y entonces iMessage / Facetime ya no se podian activar. El punto es que en algunos "planes", Movistar no permite enviar SMS "internacionales", aun cuando tienes mensajes ilimitados a operadores nacionales ( dentro de Mexico ). Asi que lo que tienes que hacer es comprar una "bolsa adicional de recarga" que puede ser desde 30 pesos mexicanos, lo cual le permitira a tu iPhone que envie el SMS , que activara iMessage / Facetime. Esto soluciono el problema !. Saludos.

    Well, that's kind of embarrassing. And I honestly thought I paid attention to that... It works perfectly now, thank you so much!
    As expected, cdm-git also works fine since DMs only work in the root mode as of now.
    Just for the record, both type commands output "/usr/bin/startx" and pacman -Q gives "systemd 215-4".

    You will need to try changing the email address on the first account and see if you can then re-use it on a new account - you can try changing the email address via http://appleid.apple.com or by logging into it via the Store > View Account menu option on a computer's iTunes (if you don't have a spare email account then you can create one via http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com)

    if you created a ringtone, it should appear in the tone menu in itunes.
    Is the ringtone 30 seconds or less?
    Also I would check the iringer support site to resolve your issue.

    I believe it's not allowed, use different operation name.
    A wsdl:portType in a DESCRIPTION MUST have operations with distinct values for their name attributes.
    This applies only to the wsdl:operations within a given wsdl:portType. A wsdl:portType may have wsdl:operations with names that are the same as those found in other wsdl:portTypes.
    why do you need multiple operation with same message type?

    (One thing that's different is I'm working on a different machine than I was the first day I posted about this, but I'm using the exact same version of InDesign. Would this make a difference? I forgot to copy the original script file from the other computer before coming to work today... If I need to do that, I can.)

  • How can I keep my MacBook safe is Apple is no longer supporting Snow Leopard? My MacBook was purchased in 2006 and cannot be upgraded to the newer operating systems.

  • Cannot activate after carrier unlock

    Cannot activate iphone after carrier unlock.  Device says Apple's activation servers are unavailable and iTunes says no sim card in the device I am trying to activate.
    The original carrier is AT&T, I live in Canada therefore I am not able to insert an AT&T sim card in the device. 
    I have restored and updated through itunes as instructed.  Restored as new many times in fact.
    Any suggestions?

    Well there's nothing we here in this forum can do for you.  It's between you, the person who sold you the phone, and the carrier.  You'll need to somehow work it out amongst yourselves. 
    Nothing we users nor Apple can do at this point.  Either the person is lying to you and telling you the phone was unlocked, or the phones was unlocked improperly.

  • How do I get iMessage to activate after having used find my iPhone app?

    My husband not realizing he was going to wipe my phone decided to play around with the find my iPhone app. Of course it reset and I lost everything. I restored from a backup and cannot get iMessage to activate. I just keep getting a message awaiting activation.  I've tried shutting down the phone, turning iMessage on and off, resetting network settings, logging in and out of apple ID. I let it sit for about 10 hours and that didn't work either. Is there something else I need to try? Anything specific to the find my iPhone app?  I really don't want to restore without backup. I've already had issues with the 5 and lost my info on 3 separate occasions. Also can't get iCloud backup to work since I've had the 5. Any help greatly appreciated!!

  • Slow internet with SIS900 after moving to new network

    After moving to a new house I am having internet problems on my main box. I have two computers, both of which are running archlinux:
    1. My athlonxp 1700 MAIN BOX with a SIS900 onboard nic
    2. An old celeron 500 LAPTOP, with an E100 onboard nic
    The symptoms are similar to the "2.6.8.1 slows my internet to a crawl" problems described in the wiki.

    The problems can be described as follows:
    - DNS lookup is working fine
    - My browser is slow when connecting to a site. After a while the page begins to load very slowly (less than 1k per second) but halts after several kilobytes
    - Same thing for downloads. Download starts but halts after something like 30 k
    In my house we use a shared ADSL connection, with a windows 2000 box configured as a router, and all others connected through a switch. On my LAPTOP everything is working fine. I had to do two things to get internet working properly:
    1. Turn TCP Window Scaling off (echo "0" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_window_scaling)
    2. Set MTU (max transfer unit) to 1350 by adding "mtu 1350" to the eth0 line in rc.conf
    However, on my main box this does not work. Since both computers are configured the same way, I am guessing the problem lies with the SIS900 driver. I did try the 2.6.11.3 as well as the old 2.4.26 kernel, but both show the same behaviour. Somehow it seems like the window scaling problem persists, even though window scaling has been turned off. By now I have spent hours trying fix this. Is there anyone that has an idea how this could be fixed?

    Ok, after some more mucking about I have made some progress. By changing MTU to 100 I can get pages to load, albeit slowly. At least now I can post about this from my main box ;-).
    I have noticed the following things:
    - With MTU 100 pages load, but my adsl broadband is about as slow as an old modem. I get about 1Kbps on ftp downloads. After ~200K the transfer stalls.
    - When using aMule i notice that my eth0 monitor (in superkaramba) indicates outward traffic of about 20 Kbps, eventhough aMule itself only indicates 5Kbps being transferred.
    - When I ping my router by doing "ping 192.168.0.1" I have about 10% packet loss. This does not happen on my laptop.
    So, I'm stuck with the following questions:
    - Why does my internet grind to a halt when I use MTU>1000?
    - Why do my downloads halt after ~100K?
    - Where do I start looking for differences in my LAPTOP setup, which works fine, and my MAIN BOX, which does not?

  • No data in web analytics report after moving to new server

    Hi,
    I have a Sharepoint 2010 portal, we need to move that portal to a new server.
    For this, I took the backup of the Web Analytics Reporting db and Staging db and restored them in the SQL of new server. Then, I created new Web Analytics Service Application on the new server with reference to the restored databases.
    Now, when I go to check Web Analytics report, there is no data in it.
    Is this because the url of my portal is now changed? Will I be able to get all my data when I change the AAM of new server to the old portal's url?

    I wonder if Data exists starting from the date of finishing moving. If not, then please make sure Web Analytic is working in your environment.
    You could also check ULS log for relevant error information.
