Imessage doens't work after data limits set

I just set up data limits on my daughter's phone, but now we cannot imessage each other. Our messages to each other will only go through as text messages. However, we can both imessage other people. How do I fix that?

iMessage uses data in order to transmit messages. To find out what's going on, go into your settings, select messages and type out what you see. If you want to try a quick fix, turning imessaging off and back on is a generic option to try and fix intermittent issues. If that doesn't work, list your settings in messages here for me please!

I Fixed it by trying to sign in with a different ID and canceling when it asked For a password and then signed in with my ID and it works! No more error message. I got this idea from another discussion. Thank you for replying though.

iMessage doesn't work after the installation of the update 5.1

I am unsure whether my issue relates to updating to OS5.1 but seems coincidental that I have only had the problem for the last few days since updating.
I can use iMessage without a problem although some messages are delayed in being sent or received recently. However, I can no longer send MMS picture messages. I have spoken to my provider who has been through all their relevant settings checks. I have restarted the phone (iPhone 3GS), I have tried turning off iMessage to send MMS but still nothing works.
I've had no issue sending MMS picture messages since owning the phone right up until a few days ago.
Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions on anything else I can try please?

It's mostly a server issue because millions of users are trying to do the same. Apple's servers get bogged down. Try waiting a bit - a day - before trying again. You can also check out this for other things to try.

IMessage doesn't work after changing the sim. New number isn't even recognised.

I changed my sim from a German to a French one and the card is already active and calls are possible, but iMessage doesn't work. The new number is not recognised and iMessage cannot be activated.
I tried to switch it off and and and I reset the network, but nothing. I even removed the card a few times, but no change.
How can I make it work?

On my SD TV... Notice the black bars on the top and bottom. Once I go in and out of the guide the black bars are gone. I have reported this but if you are confirming the issue I will report it again.

TS2755 Group iMessage is not working after upgrading to ios 7.

When creating a group chat using iMessage with ios 7 or 7.0.2 When you send a message each person gets the text as an individual text and when they reply back it comes back as an individual text not in the group chat as it did in the previous ios versions before 7.0.

What this means is simply, at least one person in the group chat's iMessages isn't working, or hasn't activated. When this happens the message (depending on your settings) sends as an SMS instead, hence for the recipient it looks like it was sent from only one person and not s part of a group.
You need to check through each recipient, add them one by one to an iMessage group (or send them individual messages), and if it turns green when you've added someone then their iMessages isn't currenlty working.
The upgrade to iOS7 has broken iMessags connection/activation for some users. There are ways to try to fix it by switching iMessages on and off, or resetting your network settings. Often these work, and sometimes it takes a day to activate. Apple have just announced that they are working on a fix for this right now.

Imessage doesn't work after iOS 7.1.1

I could use some advice, I am in Japan right now, basically using my iphone for internet and imessage only. I just updated to iOS 7.1.1, and now I can't activate my imessage. I tried all of the advice I found online (set time zone to auto, hard reset, sign out and sign back in, etc, etc) and nothing is working. Has anyone else gone through this and do you have any new advice? Thanks in advance.

Activation of imessage requires the ability to send a hidden sms to an apple server in the UK. If your phone cannot send and international sms then you cannot activate imessage.
ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS. Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages. If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)). Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation. If that does not fix things read the following articles:

USING AN IPHONE AS AN IPOD
Restore your phone as new. Place a SIM card into the phone and connect it your computer with iTunes open and follow the activation assistant to activate the iphone. If your phones locked to a particular carrier then it needs to be a SIM card from that carrier (it does not need to be an active SIM) or if not locked any SIM will do. Once the iphone have been activated remove the SIM card and turn on imessage in settings/messages. everything was good, but one thing still disturbs me. at the end of configuration EM, there was such line:
