iMessage will not work until it's activated.
Switch iMessage OFF. Double tap Home button and delete Messages in multitask-bar.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
Switch iMessage back ON.

I am unsure whether my issue relates to updating to OS5.1 but seems coincidental that I have only had the problem for the last few days since updating.
I can use iMessage without a problem although some messages are delayed in being sent or received recently. However, I can no longer send MMS picture messages. I have spoken to my provider who has been through all their relevant settings checks. I have restarted the phone (iPhone 3GS), I have tried turning off iMessage to send MMS but still nothing works.
I've had no issue sending MMS picture messages since owning the phone right up until a few days ago.
Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions on anything else I can try please?

After IOS update, you first have to use passcode.
Passcode is needed when
After restarting your iPhone 5s
When more than 48 hours have elapsed from the last time you unlocked your iPhone 5s
To enter the Touch ID & Passcode setting

IMessage doesn't work after changing the sim. New number isn't even recognised.

I changed my sim from a German to a French one and the card is already active and calls are possible, but iMessage doesn't work. The new number is not recognised and iMessage cannot be activated.
I tried to switch it off and and and I reset the network, but nothing. I even removed the card a few times, but no change.
How can I make it work?

On my SD TV... Notice the black bars on the top and bottom. Once I go in and out of the guide the black bars are gone. I have reported this but if you are confirming the issue I will report it again.

CS4 doesn't work after LION installation

After the Lion installation i had several problems.
One of these is that the cs4 doesn't work.
i open illustrator or photoshop and they crash every time. "photoshop not responding" "illustrator not responding" and so on..
I had to reinstall all the suite that now works.
The question is... why??
I thought is is better to format the mac... should i do ?

When I start the Dropbox Application, it uses nearly 90% of the CPU as well, so the mac heats up, in a way that it is not possible to use the dropbox application...
(The Icon of the VLC Media Player only jumps up and down in the dock, and nothing else happens)

Safari doesn't work after new Installation of Lion

Hello,
I installed a new SSD into my MBP mid 2009 and put the HDD into the optibay instead of the Superdrive, after that I installed OSX Lion onto the SSD and used the Migration Assisstent to migrate my old User Folder from the HDD with the newly installed OSX Lion. After the migration, everything went well, except of the following:
-Safari doesn't work, no website can be loaded, as soon as I run Safari, there is a process running named "Webprocess" which uses 95% of the CPU and makes the MBP heating.
-VLC Media Player does not work as well
Any idea anyone?

Firewire extension doesn't work after SL installation

Hi everyone,
I recently installed Snow Leopard and I'm using a WD MyBook Studio Edition 500 GB as Time Machine backup drive. Unfortunately since last week it's not working any more. I get the following error message:
" system extension can't be used
the system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireWDHID.kext" has not been installed correctly and therefore cannot be used. Try re-installing it or contact the manufacturer for an update."
Does anyone have a clue how to re-install it?

Reinstall Snow Leopard. Alternatively, contact WD and see what they say.

Nice one, Apple. Swipe to change between camera and video and disable tapping on the word "video" because tapping makes sense and is easy enough for even a 5 year old to understand. Don't be Microsoft and make things harder to use. Keep the swipe if it satisfies your sense of feeling all modern and relevant, but put back the tap on "camera" and "video" so we don't have to Google it to figure it out and leave irate notes in your product forums. Missed a really cute video of my toddler singing thanks to you.

Photo editor app now available but doesn't work, after latest What's New update

hi all
odd experience what I wanted to highlight with you all.
I've just had an updated (this morning) to What's New build 3.0.A.0.2
After installing this patch / update, I was then told that "Photo Editor" was available to download. Build is 5.0.A.0.12
As far as I'm concerned I've not had this app on my phone before - checking in system apps reveals this is a fresh install, rather than an update to an existing app.
Also, I've not worked out how to run it, as there's no app shortcut on my homescreen. The app is not visible in the app picklist (when adding new items to my homescreens) either. Nor is the app in the main app list (accessed with the 6 dots button in the middle of the permanent shortcut panel on the homescreen).
I've even tried using a very useful app "quick shortcut maker" and although I can find photo editor in its activity list, when i test the generated shortcut, I get "unfortunately, photo editor has stopped".
Any ideas?
I do have some apps disabled, so does photo editor have any known dependencies?
EDIT: I've tried clearing photo editor data and restarting - no change.

Photo Editor is a system app only, it is available for use when editing photo's through your Album or Photo's app. For example, if you go into Album > tap on a photo > tap the icon at the bottom that looks like a pencil on paper > tap Photo editor.

Iphone 5 doesn´t work after an ios 8.2 update via itunes

I was updating my iphone 5 model A1429 via itunes on my windows 7 computer,
it was extracting the software when my computer died and it was showing the apple icon and a grey progress bar on the iphone.
When I turned on my computer again, the itunes said "unexpected error occured, couldn´t update the phone" or something like that and that´s it.
Since then itunes doesn´t recognize my device and on my iphone there is still the apple icon and the grey progress bar.
What can I do?

My imessaging doesn't work after the latest software update and was told that i will have to reset my phone will i lose my contacts if they are back up to icloud and how do i get them back from icloud?

i need to know whether or not i will still be able to get my contacts back if i reset my phone to factory specifications

If they are synced to iCloud and appear on icloud.com, they will reappear on your phone when you sign back into your account. As a precaution, you could use an app like My Contacts Backup to back them up before you restore if you wish. I would also recommend as a precaution that you import your camera roll photos and videos to your computer before restoring, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

The Facetime was working well with iOS 4.3.5 but after I upgrade to iOS 5, the Facetime can't work on my ipodtouch 4G It always failed

I could use some advice, I am in Japan right now, basically using my iphone for internet and imessage only. I just updated to iOS 7.1.1, and now I can't activate my imessage. I tried all of the advice I found online (set time zone to auto, hard reset, sign out and sign back in, etc, etc) and nothing is working. Has anyone else gone through this and do you have any new advice? Thanks in advance.

Activation of imessage requires the ability to send a hidden sms to an apple server in the UK. If your phone cannot send and international sms then you cannot activate imessage.
ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS. Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages. If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)). Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation. If that does not fix things read the following articles:

USING AN IPHONE AS AN IPOD
Restore your phone as new. Place a SIM card into the phone and connect it your computer with iTunes open and follow the activation assistant to activate the iphone. If your phones locked to a particular carrier then it needs to be a SIM card from that carrier (it does not need to be an active SIM) or if not locked any SIM will do. Once the iphone have been activated remove the SIM card and turn on imessage in settings/messages. I installed a real Win 7 / 64 professional full version on my Sat Pro L550-199, PSLW9E. Now I can't switch on my WLAN. The big FN-bottons doesn't exist. I tried lots of driver I found on the Toshiba Support page.
Whitch is the right, or is Win 7 / 64 professional not supported with WLAN?
How I can switch on WLAN without the FN-Key?

Is your WLAN card installed properly in device manager? It must be listed under network devices without yellow exclamation marks. So you can make sure that WLAN card is installed.
For all FN keys you have to install Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. Both tools can be downloaded on official Toshiba page where you can find the WLAN driver too:

If you have installed everything you can start with WLAN configuration :)
