IMessage/FaceTime Can't Activate.

I Give an Iphone 4 to a friend,
When I use it, I have no probleme with iMessage/Facetime
But now she can't activate iMessage or Facetime
I Try lot's of thing, in other Thread, : dns, time to auto, etc, etc

Restrictions is not active, we don't use it.
First time I try with her mail @ gmail.com don't work

On iMessage, I don't see her phone number too ?
I do this " SETTINGS>MAIL,CONTACTS,CALENDAR>CONTACTS>MY INFO" and select her card info.

After I restore the iphone and create a new apple-id by using @me.com of apple.
So she's got two apple id : [email protected] and the other [email protected]
When I try to activate, I have got the message " en attente d'activation" and few times later i've got an error message "activation don't work, re-rety"

IMessage & FaceTime "can't activate" Solution

I recently replaced my broken iPhone 5 with a new iPhone 5 under the 1 year warranty. This was great except after my new phone was setup, I was unable to activate iMessage and Facetime. I followed the troubleshooting steps on the Apple website and those I found on Google as well as went through the steps with 2 phone AppleCare techs, a Genius Bar employee and an AppleCare online chat. Finally, I figured out how to fix the problem.
1. Plug you iPhone into your computer and open iTunes.*
2. Backup your iPhone to iTunes.
3. Click "Restore iPhone" at the top right of the screen next to "Check for Updates"
4. Let this run. If you have an error such as "Unknown error " with a "(-1)", "(8)", or "(9)", unplug the phone and restart at step 1. (It took me 4 tries)
5. Your phone will bring up some initial setup menus. You can gho through these or click "Restore from" and choose the backup you just performed on your iPhone.
6. Let this run and your phone should be restored correctly with iMessage and Facetime working.
*My phone was in "Recovery Mode" which can be done by turning your phone off by holding the power button, and after it is off, hold the home button down and plug your phone into your laptop and continue holding down the home button until an iTunes logo and cord are shown on your phone. WARNING: If your phone doesn't successfully complete the restore then it isn't easy to get it out of recovery mode, so use caution. I recommend trying without recovery mode first.
I am not sure this will work for everyone but I believe my problem was unplugging my iPhone before the original syncing/restoring of my new phone was complete. I was asked to restore my phone while using AppleCare help and I didn't have the same results which is odd. My advice is to be patient and backup your phone. When your phone and computer are backed-up, generally speaking you should always be able to get your data back on your phone. I hope this was helpful.

What I would do is set the phone up as new and see if it can activate then. If that works then restore the iPhone again and restore your back up on the phone and see if that works.
If these fail then I would say go to expresslane.apple.com and choose the iMessage section and have an Apple representative call you and see if they can help you with the issue that you are having. Hope this helps you both.

IOS 6 iMessage/FaceTime Not Working

I was using iOS beta 1 on my iPad but iMessage/FaceTime won't activate - kept telling me my password was incorrect, while it worked everywhere else. Some downgraded to iOS 5.1.1.
Today, I downloaded the public iOS 6 release on my iPhone, and it's not working. Still says wrong password. Because of this, I haven't yet updated my iPad.

HI All, I think I finaly solved my issue - not really but at least now I am working again- I had a friend's brother who works in apple HQ to check my account and found out that no matter how many times I change my password it doesnt reflect on the server. It works but doesnt show up on his screens that I changed the password so the last password was showing 2009 - offcourse I changed password many times since than- so I figured out maybe its a region issue or Apple is ignoring the rest of the worl d. SO what I did was:
- logged in VPN connection to USA.
-Created an new apple ID and tested - guess what it worked. ( I have tried new apple id with no vpn and it didnt work) this brought me to the conclusion thatits the region.
- so I went in to my original ID changed it to another email. than went back and changed the new ID to use the old email address and it was still working fine. offcourse t I had to remove all crdit card details and stuff from the old ID and anything that I bought is still under that ID no way around that, but now I have a new apple ID with the old email I wanted and its working on oall my devices. It took me nearly 2 months to figure this out and still its not the idel solution but for me it worked.

As long as you're logged into the same AppleID on both devices, this is not a problem. It's only a problem if you're logged into a different AppleID and then try to associate FaceTime with an email that tied to the other AppleID.

Whwnevee I try to activate iMessages or FaceTime on my iPhone, I receive incorrect username or password error although I'm sure they're correct. I also set time automatically as recommend by most threads but still the same.

Has erred and pressed on ( Erase iPhone ) and Already been cleared Contents,
After that my wife was running iPhone.
But there are two problems:
1 - can't activate FaceTime by phone number, but by the Apple ID it's okay!
2 - can't not activate iMassage by phone number, but by the Apple ID it's okay!

If the device was remotely wiped using Fimd My iPhone it can take up to 24 hours for the phone number to verify using Facetime and iMessage. Leave them turned on and do not toggle them off in that period of time.

Can't activate Facetime/iMessage on Mac OS X

Hi, I just got a new MacBook Pro and I can't seem to activate my iMessage/Facetime account with my Apple ID. When I enter my Apple ID / Password, it says "incorrect Apple ID / Password". I'm not too sure what to do as I have absolutely no experience with macs at all.

I thought I'd give it a shot, just in case you missed the time thing. There are an awful lot of MacBook owners who seem to have Facetime problems--and that should not be.
Facetime works great on my IMac Snow Leopard machine, but I remember the process for setting up the FT account was rather ambiguous. I mentioned to my wife that the nerds at Apple don't seem to have the ability to communicate with their users very effectively.
Folks like you should not have to go through all this trouble to activate an APP like FT. If I see any info that I think will help you, I'll post it on this thread.

Can you send SMS by using the mobile data network instead of Wi-Fi? I had the same problem setting up my 5s from a backup of my 4s. Only after I sent an SMS via mobile data network, somehow iMessage and FaceTime got activated a couple of minutes later without me doing anything else.
I even changed my Apple ID password, because at one point I could not log into my account when iMessage asked for my account details.

Why does it appear that mi ipad mini Appleid is now in use and I can not activate iMessage or FaceTime?

When I try yo activate my Apple id for face time or iMessage I can not do ir. It says that the Apple id is now in use, ADN that its imposible yo validate.

Is it possible the you are mistakenly trying to create a new account using the existing ID? That would result in the error you describe.
Tell us exacly what you are doing to activate your ID for facetime or iMessage. What is the process?
