IMessage - How to properly receive messages that where sent to your phone number?
There's a really weird iMessage behavior,
I've got both my iPhone and my iPad configured with the same Apple ID, iMessage turned on, it would only arrive at my iPhone (as an iMessage), but not on my iPad - what's the point?! (no one should know that he has to SMS my mail address for my devices to show the message as expected)
Does antone else have this problem? Is there some kind of fix?

Tried that on their phones, I was thinking that maybe since the "old" conversation is linked to my e-mail it might see that when I choose my cell number it takes it as "new' conversation, but I would think that since both my e-mail and cell number is in my contact on their iPhones it would know to connect to the 'old" conversation. Another weird thing was a friend text me which I received on my iPhone not my iPad, but when I reasoned the texts started to show up on the iPad the original text was missing but the rest of the conversation was there, I was at wok when this took place and had no access to the iPad.

So first off let me say that I don't have an iPhone but I used to have one. Anyways my two cousins who have iphones have tried texting me but someone else who has an iPhone is receiving them. Is there anything I can do about that?
You need to change your apple ID password for the iPhone you sued to have. Go to appleid.apple.com then manage my ID

You can text with anybody using your Android phone no matter what type of phone the other person is using. The phones will be using standard SMS text messaging. You cannot use your iPad to text with Android devices, Messages on the iPad only works with other Apple iOS devices.
If your friends are trying to message you from their iPhones to your iPad, they have to send the text to your Apple ID email address and you have to set up messages to use your Apple ID instead of the iPhone number. Your Apple ID should already be accessible in the settings since you have to set up Messages with your Apple ID in the first place.
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Your Apple ID email address. Select the Apple ID in there. -
What is going on??? Since I updated my iPhone 4s to iOS 6 all messages that are sent to my phone from another iPhone user also get sent to my daughters iPhone 4. And she can receive my text but cannot reply to me.

To remove synced photos, you sync again without those photos selected for sync.
iTunes: Syncing photos
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
Click Apply.

I have 2 Iphones, registered under the same AppleID. Mine, and my mom's. I recently (today) did the software udate for her phone, and ever since-she receives every message i send to my girlfriend, and every response that my girlfriend sends to me. I read up on Imessage, and checked the settings on both phones. On each phone "imessage"was turned on, so i turned Imessage off. Will this solve the problem of my mom receiving every message that i send and receive? Also, if i turn Imessage back on, on my phone-will i still have privacy to text?
Why not create a second Apple ID? Wouldn't that solve the problem much more straightforwardly?

How do I read/receive messages that were sent to me while my phone was on airplane mode?
I recently went away camping and turned my phone on airplane mode so I wouldn't receive any charges. But when I take my phone off airplane mode it shows I have no new messages showing. I was wondering how I can receive and read those messages once I take it off of airplane mode.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I have an Iphone 36s. I need to get contents of messages that were sent on the phone in June of this year. I read online that the phone has an internal storage that keeps all data when phone is used and that this internal storage can be accessed. I need the contents of particular messages for evidence in court. How do I get into the internal storage? I've tried some of the methods that people post online, but none of them have been successful. Help!
If you still have a backup from that point in time as part ofr your computer backup history, you could restore the backup folder, restore the phone from that backup and have the messages on the phone.

For some reason my iPhone 5 has been automatically changing my imessage settings to send/receive from my email rather than my phone number. Even after I go back and correct it the same thing happens again later. Now I cannot receive any texts from a particular number (belongs to iPhone 4 owner) but they can receive mine, how do I fix this???
I assume your phone is using your phone number. Select an E-Mail also. Under the Select Area a new Area should show up offering to choose whether to use the number or the E-Mail to start new conversations. Pick the Phone number. Go to iMessage and start new conversations.

Why is that when I downloaded the iOS 7 for my iphone 5 that it changed my send and receive for imessages to a random number but my SMS messages are still linked to my phone number?
I just encountered this problem for the first time and stumbled upon this forum to find a solution. I played around with it a bit and it seems that if you slide your finger from the bottom up, you will come upon that new screen that will allow you to do various functions with your phone (put it in airport mode, lock, etc.), you can select your Airport from this screen and play your music wirelessly from your phone; at least this was my experience. Depends on how long your phone is in Airplane mode, and your carrier's policies. Any iMessages sent to you are only kept on Apple's servers for 24hrs, then deleted. Most carrier's have similar polices regarding SMS's, but they vary, carrier-to-carrier as to how long SMS's are kept before deletion.
