IMessage is not working, whatsApp won't notify unless app is open

iMessage won't work, trying to send, but in the end says Failed
whatsApp won't notify you about incoming messages, and won't receive them, unless application itself is open.
CAN'T UPDATE TO iOS6.
PUSH NOTIFICATIONS NOT WORKING

I'm having the same problem. I have a 4th gen 32GB iPod Touch, and since upgrading to iOS6, iMessage has been nothing but buggy. It will work for an hour or so, and then randomly stop working as it won't send or receive messages. There's nothing wrong with my wifi, because that's the same as it was before. I really hope someone knows something to fox this problem. Some people use iMessage for good reasons - it needs to be a reliable messaging service like it was in iOS5.

My iMessage is not working over wifi. But it's only at my house. Actually it worked a while ago but then it stopped working.
The browser, email, app store, youtube and any other apps are working just fine over the wifi. It's only my iMessage. It won't send any message. It say message not delivered. Does anybody what is going on and what can I do to fix it? Thanks, before. (:

I recently moved my library on my time capsule
You mean you moved your music files to the external. The library is more than the music files.
Just copy the \Music\iTunes\ folder from internal to the Time Capsule.
Add the Time Capsule to your Login items in System prefs -> Accounts.
Hold Option and launch iTunes and select *Choose library*.
Select the iTunes library file int ehiTunes folder on the Time Capsule.
It is hte samae library you have previously. All artwork playlists, ratings, songs, movies, etc. will be there.
Genius is already there so nothing needs to be done.

Mine isn't working either for my iPhone. I tried activating it again and it won't wont let me select my number for iMessage:/ it only lets me add an email address which is pointless seeing as I use I message to txt from my number.

My imessage will not work. I have my apple id signed in with it, but when i try to text my friends (who have imessage) it says that they are not registered when they really are. I tried turning my iMessage off and it still won't work. I turned off my iPod over all and tried to get a friend to message me, but she said that it said tht I was not registered to iMessage, but I am.

You can't fix it, it's probably just a server issue on Apple's side.
All you can do is wait for them to fix it.

It worked well before doing the latest update.
iMessage on My iPhone 4 works fine after doing the same update.
Have done all the usual things plugging into computer, complete shut down and reboot, nothing has worked.
It keeps asking for password for Apple ID, I know I am entering the correct ID, check network is also being displayed.
Nothing wrong with my network either, other iPads and iPhones are working fine on the same network.
Would like this fixed ASAP.

Yap, sad but true...
The most annoying problem, besides iMessage, is the keyboard, it's horrible on my iPhone 4 in Safari. Some on some formulars the keyboard is so **** slow that I had to stop typing after 2nd word.
But I could fix the iMessage Problem, first turn off iMsg, then you have to backup your Phone on your PC/Mac in iTunes, turn off auto sync when done and pull the phone off. Then go to the Phone settings and reset everything, then choose "set up as new device".
When done go to settings and activate iMsg and wait for activation, it will work! After you're done plug the phone back to your PC/Mac and restore from the Backup you made before. Now go to phone settings again and check if iMsg is on, if not (as it was in my case), turn it on and activate again, it will work now!!!
Attention: Apps and Music have to be resynced or downloaded after this, they are NOT part of the Backup.
This was what Apple tech. support told me to do and it worked fine.

I looked in System Preferences > Language and Text and under the Region Tab I found you could set "Show All Regions"
This then added some Language choices that then had Countries listed next to them
I could chose Saudi Arabia here but it made not difference to the choices shown in Messages.
In Messages I was highlighting the iMessages Login I already have and clicking the Detail Button and then Logging in
After that I could look at the Drop Down for Language and Countries.
As you say it is a somewhat limited list.
I am also sure I did not really have my computer set to type in Arabic (It also still listed British in Language and Text > Input methods and showed the British flag rather than the Saudi one.)
It might also need a restart to make some changes take effect.

2-3 days ago, iMessage just stopped working on all my devices (2 iPads; 1 iPhone; 1 Mac), and it hasn't come back since. iPhone waiting for activation, the rest just don't send the messages.
FaceTime and iCloud work fine.
I really hope this is resolved soon, because I rely heavily on iMessage for the majority of my communications, and I need it back ASAP as I'm on holiday and out of my home country.

I Fixed it by trying to sign in with a different ID and canceling when it asked For a password and then signed in with my ID and it works! No more error message. I got this idea from another discussion. Thank you for replying though.

Does the other person have iMessage on, too? Is the specific phone number/address you are trying to reach them at show up for them in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive?

OOk now try this if you want. First off turn off iMessage in your settings, messages. Follow by turning off FaceTime in settings, FaceTime. Now once you have iMessage and FaceTime OFF. In settings got to general , reset, and reset network settings. This will reset your wifi also if you have it enabled so if you did you will have to input your password again. Then follow up by turning on iMessage and turning on FaceTime. Good luck. This seemed to work for some users.

Try this even if you have already. Just make sure to follow the steps specifically.
Go to settings > Facetime > send and recieve > tap on your apple id and sign out. If your not signed in then that will work as well.
Go to settings > Messages > sent and recieve > tap on your apple id and sign out.
Restart the iPad by doing the slide to power off setup. Just hold the power button on the top right till it turns off.
After the iPad has been restarted:
Go to settings > Facetime > and sign in
Go to settings > Messages > and sign in
Wait about 3 min then restart the iPad again. Same instructions as above.
When you restart you should be able to use messages again. If not then call support again and talk to someone higher than the first level support they have.
