IMessage isn't sending my messages

I am using the iPhone 4 with iOS 5. In the beginning, I had a couple problems with the data connection in general after updating my phone. I had to restart the phone each time it happened and then it'd be fine for a few hours / days. These problems occured for about two weeks after updating my phone and then stopped.
Now iMessage stopped sending my messages. I have full connection and everything else (making calls, going online, other messengers) is working. I can receive messages through iMessage as well, it just won't send mine. It says sending and the bar fills up completely, then disappears like it normally would but the little "delivered" note under the message won't show up. My friend has confirmed that she's not getting anything from me although she is getting messages from other friends.
I have restarted my phone, turned iMessage on and off, then turned it off, restarted the phone and then turned it on, all to no avail.
Please, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

iMessage can only send messages to other iOS devices using their email address. Make sure the person you are sending has i message set up.

  • IMessages freezes when sending a message

Recently, (past few days), everytime i try to send an iMessage via my MBP 2GHz i7 8GB RAM 500GB HDD it freezes..
I get the coloured spinny wheel and then after a few seconds it sends the message, but this happens EVERY time :/
Wonder if anyone else has a solution or is experiencing the problem too?

    Hi,
Although you are unlikely to see a spinning beachball on an iOS device are they slower in Sending as well ?
It is more likely to be a Server issue.

  • My iMessage isn't sending/delivering to 1 person?

I have been having this problem for a week now. I can send texts to everyone in my contacts except one person and she can't send anything to me either. It won't deliver or send. I've tried turning the wifi off, logging out, shutting down and simply not using it to see if the problem would fix itself, which it obviously hasn't. Anything else I can try?

Nope, that didn't work Also, the blue bar at the top of the page that goes across the screen when you send a message, it goes about 1/10 of the way and just stops and the message gets the exclaimation mark behind it and says not delivered... But it is just to one person so its confusing me

  • IMessage isn't sending messages from my iPad or iPhone

I constantly get message send failure on my iPad v1, even though I've used my original apple ID (ie the one linked to itunes rather than my mobileme / icloud account) and it appears to go through and activate / verify correctly. To be clear I've tried to send to to other accounts of friends who have ios5 and iMessage working - it just doesn't work for me.
Incidentally, I'm also having imessage troubles on my 3GS with it too appearing to be setup (as above), but only green mms messages are sent, rather than blueiMessages.
And to cap it all, I can't even get past the iMessage activation section on my ipod 3rd generation!!
    Help would be very welcome
    Thanks

No. Clipboard copied text and elements are not persisted. All that would be there is the last thing copied.

  • With another user, who recently got an iPhone, everytime I send an iMessage, it turns into a text. So it ends up with her sending iMessages while I send text messages. How can I fix this

My friend recently got an iPhone today. Before our conversations were with the green bubble, because I had an iPhone and she didn't. Now that she got her iPhone, she texted me and I received it as an iMessage, but when I would reply it would send as a text message. I have made sure that my iMessage setting are set up properly, and that he phone I marked as an I phone in the contact but it's not working

When other users with the same 5s as I have, text her, it's iMessage as well and they're not having the same issue. I don't know why this is happening. I've tried deleting the contact and restarting my phone but nothing works

  • TS2755 My iphone 5 isn't sending picture messages

I've shrunk photos and still nada.

Is your iPhone provision to send MMS. Talk to your carrier since it's a carrier service.
Check Settings > Messages > MMS Messaging: ON
iMessage works only if the recipient also has Apple device and has iMessage confiured.

  • IMessage isn't sending texts

When sending a text to other iPhones for some reason the message is saying that it's not delivering and I reseted it but the problem is still apparent

When sending a text to other iPhones for some reason the message is saying that it's not delivering and I reseted it but the problem is still apparent

  • When talking through normal text(not imessage), my texts send fine however,I don't receive all texts.

When sending a text via normal texting ( I turn my mobile data off whilst out and not on WiFi so I am not using IMessage ) I can send the message without a problem. However when the text reaches the person ive sent it to and they reply,I don't always receive the text they have replied with. I have tried doing simple things like turning the mobile data on and off again and nothing has changed, still not receiving all the texts I get sent. Any idea why this could be happening?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
If the issues continue, you may need to consider restoring as new.

    Hi Kathy,
Happy Holidays!  Do you have an iPad with cellular service and a text-messaging plan?
Send messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201287
What's the difference between SMS/MMS and iMessage?
SMS/MMS lets you send text messages and photos to other cellular phones or devices. iMessage lets you send text messages and photos to another iOS device over Wi-Fi, without worrying about text-messaging charges (cellular data charges may apply).
What do I need to use SMS/MMS and iMessage?
Here's what you need to use SMS/MMS and iMessage:
SMS/MMS: A text-messaging plan. Contact your carrier for more information.
iMessage: An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later.
How do I know if my message used SMS/MMS or iMessage?
You can tell which type of message you're sending by the color of the Send button and text bubble.
SMS/MMS: Send button and text bubbles are green.
iMessage: Send button and text bubbles are blue.
How can I link my iPhone number with Messages on my iPad, iPod touch, or Messages for Mac?
When you sign in to Messages with your Apple ID on your iPhone, you link your phone number to your Apple ID. If you then sign in to Messages with the same Apple ID on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, Messages will link that device to your phone number as well.
I hope this information helps ....
