IMessage issues with iPad, none with iPhone?

Hi
I just got my wifi iPad 2 today. I already have an iPhone and so do a number of my contacts, so I iMessage with all of them (not regular messaging).
However when I go to send them an iMessage from my iPad, it says their cell phone number is not registered with iMessage?
Any ideas?

Does iMessage work for ANY of your contacts? If the answer is yes, then the problem is with these specific people.
If the answer is No, then simply deactivate then reactivate iMessage on your phone.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Why is it that I cannot see my iMessages from my iPad on my iPhone? I have both on the iCloud, both have iMessage on, and on my iPhone I show to receive at both my cell phone number and my email address that is linked to my iPad. Any suggestions?

If its SD DV, check the following:
· Camera is set to the proper input
· In FCP, Canvas is set to RGB and sized to "Fit to Window or smaller
· View->External Video is set to "All Frames"

ITunes no longer syncs with iPad 1 or iPhone 4

I can not longer sync my iPad 1 or iPhone 4 to my Mac Pro (Lion) Everything was fine yesterday (with Lion); not sure what changed. My iPhone will charge thru the USB cable, but my iPad will not. I have tried restarting iTunes, my Mac Pro and my iPad. Does anyone have any ideas?????? Thanks in advance!

I am having the same issues with my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 not mounting within iTunes every since the iTunes update. I know my USB is working but this is crazy. I had a thought and redowned the updater 10.6.8 thinking it was a bad install still the same issues. Sorry I couldn't help. I am also looking for the answers.

How do you use imessage on the ipad 2 with wifi

Whenever I try to use iMessage, it says message failed. Im not sure if it's because I only have the iPad 2 with wifi, not the 3G? Anyone help?!?!?!?!???

Updating Macbook (OS X v10.5.8) to be compatible with iPad Mini and iPhone 5s

I have a MacBook5,1 -Intel Core 2 Duo,2 GHz, running OS X 10.5.8. I want to update my computer to take advantage of the newer features, and also to be compatible with my iPad Mini and iPhone 5s.
Do I first need to upgrade to OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard to then update to OS X Mountain Lion?

Home sharing: iTunes 11 works with iPhone 5 not iPad 3, iTunes 10.7 with iPad 3 not iPhone 5

It's worth mentioning that both my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 have iOS 6.0.1. I have a MacBook Pro on OSX 10.7.5 with iTunes 10.7 (now) and a Windows 7 64-bit box on iTunes 10.7.
In short, trying to get all my stuff to play nicely has been a total nightmare; and sadly is the reason I pay the premium for Apple stuff: I want it to all work.
Originally, the MacBook had iTunes 11 on it. With iTunes 11, the iPad couldn't stream any content (copy protected or not), though the iPhone could via the home sharing feature.
After downgrading the MacBook to iTunes 10.7 using Pacifist, the iPad will stream, but the iPhone won't.
Amusingly, both the iPad AND the iPhone stream just fine from the Windows box via home sharing.
Anyone have any ideas? This is getting pretty obnoxious now. I haven't rebooted the MacBook yet, which is what I'm planning on doing now.
EDIT: rebooting the Mac accomplished nothing; iPhone 5 still won't stream, iPad is fine same as before the reboot.

Version 11.1.5.5 of iTunes was just released today. If you update to that, does that help with the syncing troubles?

It's not my phone number under settings / messages/ send and receive, it's greyed out , not ticked and not changeable, so that's probably why iMessages only come into my ipad not my iPhone. Think it'll be the original phone number the phone had before my own number was assigned to it. How can it be changed?

Turn off imessage and turn it back on. Then check the settings again.
If that doesn't work, then you may need to restore from your backup, if that doesn't woirk then restore as new.

On the Mac in the Contacts App in the Contacts Menu > Accounts is it shown to be using iCloud to Sync the info between all devices ?

Handoff issues between ipad air and iphone 5

Hello everybody!
I have tried to recieve my calls on my ipad, but it doesn't work. In the other way I can call from my ipad using the iphone...
The other handoff's feature that allow continue the email or safari works perfectly. So only fail recieve the calls in the ipad.
I have reset network settings and I turn off and on again handoff and the option in facetime to use the iphone for this but nothing changed. Of course I have wifi and bluetooth on, and I'm in the same network.
I hope that somebody can tell me what to do...

Ok, finally I fix the problem myself.
You need to remove the icloud account and then put it back.

IMessage issues on contacts associated with two different mobile numbers

Hello together,
currently i am facing the following issue:
I have a contact "Max Mustermann" associated with to different mobile numbers. Number 1 is a number belonging to his business mobile phone which is an iPhone. Number 2 belongs to his private Android device.
Since I updated to iOS 7.0.2 my iPhones sends every message (new message, answers) to the iPhone, regadless if he sends me a text message from his Android device. During my throubleshooting I tried to delete his business number from contacts, deleted every mail adress associated with his contact, recreate the contact with the same name and just the private number. As for now I completely deleted his contact on my iPhone and tried to send the text message directly to the mobile number of his Android device. But still the same: Message is send as iMessage to his business mobile phone...
Anybody faced this issue before and can me help with his?

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered
