IMessage - Missing Subject Line?

Does anyone know anything about the missing subject line in the desktop version of Messages?
We really enjoy having that feature on the iPhone and iPad. I have been using the Messages beta and assumed that when Mountain Lion was released it would be added, but alas it has not.
Still, Messages is great. I hope they add that one thing later. Maybe when they add Facebook support in the fall, it will get bundled with it.

I was just wondering the exact same thing. I like having a Subject, but although it's easy to show in iOS, I cannot find any such option in the new Mac version. Just seems a bit bizarre that they left it out.
Unless there's some secret mechanism to enable this. Perhpas someone could enlighten us.

Missing Subject line for the Approval Notification Mail

Hi,
We use CUP 5.3 SP7. We have configured the system for role based approval. We found that the approval notification mail being sent without any Subject line. It's configurable to set the admin mail id, but couldn't find one to set the Subject.
We get the following content in the mail....

Can we set it somewhere from the configuration?

Thx for your reply..But i think you missed my point...Let me try to explain it again...
When we submit a request, the system triggers a notification mail to the approver(s). And this mail seems to be missing a Subject line... and it's shown to be sent from the System E-mail id we set at the SMTP server config.
I couldn't find a tab for setting the E-mail format for the first approver neither at the stage nor in the e-mail reminder configuration.
Perhaps, setting the next approver will help if i had a secondary approver. But we are using a single stage WF in CUP. Am i missing some config step here?

Acrobat 9 - Attach to email - missing subject line?

I just upgraded to CS4 from CS3. In Acrobat 8 when I am viewing a PDF if I go to the File menu and select (Attach to Email) I am taken to my mail app and an email was created with the attachment and the subject line is filled in with the file name. With Acrobat 9 when I try to do the same thing it does not include the subject line. Is there some sort of preference I can change to get it to include a subject line?
I send a lot of PDFs to customers and that feature in Acrobat 8 is a convenient time saver.

I have both versions on my computer because some of us have clients with deadlines and can't afford to spend hours trying to find out why new software isn't working the way it used to or should.
I sometimes produce up to 50 pdf proofs a day from InDesign layouts that need to be emailed to my clients for review. It was so smooth to be able to just hit the button, have the pdf attach itself to a new email message WITH THE NAME OF THE EMAIL AUTOMATICALLY PLACED IN THE SUBJECT LINE, type in a small note and hit send. Now, thanks to some coding anomoly in 9.0 I have to remember to hit SaveAs BEFORE I hit the email button, select the name of the file, copy the name of the file, hit the email button, then paste the name of the file in the subject line.
This wouldn't be so frustrating if I didn't literally have YEARS of being able to use that feature. Also, if even half the features Acrobat purports to have even worked consistently I could see tweaking it, but it's been known in the industry since day one that most of the extraneous "features" don't even work like they're supposed to.
Portable Document Format was a brilliant concept and works beautifully as a way of consistently displaying and printing layouts across platforms, it's vastly superior to Powerpoint for presentations when the original design can be created in a layout program. Unfortunately Adobe decided to attach features to it that weren't properly tested so it's clunky to actually use, many of the features don't behave consistently or at all, and people can't create their presentations in it so they turn to Powerpoint because MS figured out how to make it easy to create simple presentations right in the application. Through the years, every time I've tried to use the features in Acrobat I'm left disappointed by the outcome and so now it's reputation as anything beyond a wonderful prepress and proofing tool is tarnished.
Also, on a Mac I don't know what kind of security issues could be in 8.0 that would leave me exposed. I open my own pdfs, files sent by my clients and others that I trust only. How is someone going to sneak past my firewall just because I'm running 8.0?

Missing Subject line in Email after 10.6.4 upgrade

I upgraded my OS to 10.6.4. Now my email has no Subject index line. It just shows a new mail blue dot or a half circle arrow symbol (refresh). How do I get the Subject line in the new Mail App.? Tried to use the prior Mail.app, but won't work with the new OS??
Was able to get the FROM and DATE now, but still no SUBJECT.
I've been troubleshooting this for two days now. I've reloaded and ran the update again, but same result.
Anyone have a suggestion? How about another Mail App that works?

Missing subject line in BW Process Chain Messages

Hi Experts!
We are using BW3.5 (Support pack 16) process chains. There are a number of process chains and almost every thing is working fine.
But 2 process chains, send message without any subject into the email.
I did a number of tricks e.g. reactivated/rescheduled process chains, removed from scheduling and rescheduled, also deleted and recreated the message but nothing is working.
Did any one else face the similar problem?

Dynamic Subject Line not appearing in PO mail

Hi Experts,
In tcode ME28 when i get the list of POs to be released , I click on the release possible icon against the PO number. On clicking of this, a mail goes to the vendor of the PO.
My requirement is to change the subject line of this mail.
I have done all the required settings in NACE i.e. for this output, in the " Mail title & texts" , I have maintained the text and in the General data tab I have mentioned SAPMM06E as the program & TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE as the form routine.
Also in the Mail tab I have done the same : SAPMM06E as the program & TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE as the form routine.
But i am not able to get this dynamic mail text in the PO mail , instead of this text, the correspodnig PO number comes as the mail text.
In there anything that I have missed out ?
Please suggest.

is there a code written which will is responsible for forming and sending this mail ? If so the you need to look inside this code and instead see where are you setting PO number in subject line. In that part of code you need to a variable which will hold this dynamic text which you want to send as subject line.
If you can share that code with me , I can help you further.

How can I edit the Subject Line of an email I've received?

When the sender inserts vague or misleading text in the Subject Line (or leaves it blank), sometimes I'd like to edit it - makes organization and retrieval of information which might be in the email easier for me.
I've tried opening the email file with a text editor (TextWrangler) and editing the "Subject" line. That partially works: When the message is open for reading, my edited Subject appears near the top of the message.
However, when looking a list of emails in a Mailbox, Mail still displays the unedited Subject - which defeats my purpose.
What am I missing, here?

Hi Gary, I think Mail is using stored info, not sure which of these two hold that, but...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.

Passing form field name to the subject line of the task assign email

I am trying to create a process that need to pass one of the field data from a form to the task email assign but could not make it work right as expected. I think I miss something but could not figure it out myself. If any one has done this before, please share your knowledge.

I thought it simple thing to do by passing the xPath to the subject line but for some reasons, it does not work instead it show the whole xpath on the subject line. Here is my xpath:
{$/process_data/FormData/object/data/xdp/datasets/data/FSFIELDS_/Form1936/EmpInfoSub/UserM gr$}
where Form1936 is the pageName, EmpInfoSub is sub-form, and UserMgr is field name on the form.

I created two buttons - one named "Real Email Button"(submit) and one named "Submit Button (regular)"
Real Email button has the addresses listed and the "Submit As" set to PDF:

How do I create custom subject lines for form responses?

We want our forms to be able to generate a custom subject line--each time someone puts in a request. Gmail threads everything together with the same subject line so when we get e-mail notifications when someone submits a form we often miss these because multiple notifications get threaded together. This could be solved if we can customize the headlines. Do you know how to do this?

Missing Subject in Mail 10.6.4.

Just did the update to 10.6.4, had WideMail installed and 10.6.4 disabled it with the new version of mail.app. The problem now (besides the fact that mail.app is garbage without WideMail) is that the "Subject" line has disappeared completely. Under view columns it's not listed at all. Any ideas?

Can't fix Widemail (for now). But I did find a solution to the missing Subject column.
Before you begin, it's probably a good idea to remove the Widemail folder that was created during the installation (~/Library/Mail/Bundles/Widemail)
1. Trash the Mail preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist)
2. Mail opens with all the columns, but no email accounts.
3. If you have MobileMe, re-sync your email accounts (make sure you tell MobileMe to replace data on your computer by clicking ADVANCED, then Reset Sync Data.)
4. If you DO NOT have MobileMe, you'll have to manually reset all of your email accounts in Mail

I would like to capture a field and make that value the subject line for the email when the user submits the form.
Specifically...use the Headlining Act Field as the Subject Line for the email.
Is this really obvious and I just missed it?

You were asking about predetermining the name of the XML data file that gets generated when you submit data from Acrobat.
The name of the XML data file should always be the name of the file. Therefore, if the PDF file is named "test.pdf", the data file should end-up being "test.xml". The only catch is that if the form is opened in a browser, it means that it's been saved locally in a temporary folder
and with a temporary file name. That's when you start getting an XML data file that's named something like "TGA123DE.xml".
I know this may not necessarily solve your problem but I think it may at least explain why you're seeing different (unpredictable) XML data file names.

Subject line on e-mailed invoices

Hi all----
I'm having some difficulty with the subject line of our e-mailed invoices.
We maintain in VV32 --- [our company] invoice &XNAST-OBJKY&. This includes the invoice number in the subject header along with our company's name. This works perfectly for us.
However, now we have a customer who instead of the invoice number in the subject line of their e-mails, wants their PO number.
In VV32 I tried &XVBAK-BSTNK& and &XVBRK-BSTNK_VF&, however neither of them work.
What am I missing?

So, do a subrutine in RV60AFZZ, for instance ZZ_TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE. Populate in V/40 for your message program SAPLV60A and the last subrutine in the fields for replace of text symbols. After, do the settings in V/40 to see this text symbol.

PD: other idea. Rule the number of PO for splitting the invoice, and store this number in any field. If you don't have any field for this purpose, enhance VBRK with an append and populate it in the copy rules with a VOFM subroutine.

PO Subject Line Change

Hi SAP Gurus,
My client wants to change the PO Subject Line for Automail triggered to vendor when PO is sent.
I have made the necessary changes in Message output Type ZINV in Mail Title and Text with new subject line.
Then i created the PO and automatically by assignment Message output Type ZINV got selected and saved PO. Automatically mail got triggered to vendor with OLD subject Line which i checked BY SOST Tcode.
Again i created the PO and this time I manually added the same Message output Type ZINV in PO and mail got triggered to vendor with NEW subject Line..
My question is why this happening. When message o/p type is selected automatically in PO mail gets triggered with OLD subject line and when we add up the same message o/p type manually mail gets triggered with NEW subject Line.
I want to have NEW subject Line when the message o/p type is selected automatically while PO.
Why this happening? Am i missing something.....?

If there is no condition record maintained then how come sytem is determinig the message type. are you working on the same PO, Please check all the key combinations being used if there is any condition record exist.
