IMessage not in sync
I have enabled iMessage on both an iPhone and an iPad.
My iPad stays close to home, and it always connected to the WiFi network.
My iPhone has spotty reception sometimes, and as such, I don't receive some of the iMessages my friends send me when I'm in an out-of-service area.
However, with SMS, my messages arrive when I come back to an area with cellular reception. With iMessage, however, my iPad already received the message and apple doesn't bother to send another copy to my iPhone. So oftentimes, I'll miss a significant number of iMessages when I'm on the go because my iPhone is only getting some of the messages. Is there any way to get Apple to forward all the iMessages to my iPhone regardless of whether my iPad has received it or not?
Hi,
That is correct.
Those iMessages sent from the Apple ID using Messages on an iOS device or a Mac should sync across all those devices.
For instance I send a set of Pics from my Mac to my Apple ID so it goes to my iPhone will also show those Sync'ed back as "received" by the same Apple ID
Uploaded with Skitch!
It did seem in the Messages beta that you had to clear all existing Messages off the iOS device before it would sync to the Apple ID.
(As if the Messages app on the iPhone and the Messages app on the Mac were "Starting" from the "same place").
There have been suggestions that getting the iPhone to make a break with the server such as switching the iPhone Off then On again will allow it to Sync all exiting Messages when it reconnects.
The iPhone does need to be set to the Apple ID for the iMessages it sends to sync tgo the Mac or any other iOS device.

IOS 6 disaster. Facetime and imessage not working. sync problems
Hi all.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced so many bugs with iOS6?
Upgraded to an ipad 3 32GB wifi . Gave my dad ipad 2(restored and logged in with his apple id).
All was well. Then iOS 6 came along
I am able to log into my apple id but everytime i try to sign into facetime it says username or password is incorrect.
it worked a couple times but then stopped working again.
I am positive the password is correct.
I reset the password and am using the new one.
It is correct.
Restored the ipad.
worked for a while.. then the same thing
now i can't sync, Am getting an error message . Currently restoring the ipad again.
I am able to purchase items on itunes still on my desktop and my apple id seems to be working otherwise.
Facetime and imessage is not
please help?
anyone else experienced similiar issues with iOS6 ?
It should be mentioned that i couldn't purchase items directly from my ipad with the appstore for a period of time but it worked when i purchased through itunes on my desktop
Are these bugs associated with iOS6?
Again any help will be greatly appreciated
CheersI have the exact same problem!! it's been driving me crazy!! I have iPhone 4 but my iMessage works fine however.
Just the FaceTime doesn't work at all, my phone number is registered ,
just when I try to add my email (apple ID) to make the facetime works & activate .. I write down my email & password correctly , it says password is incorrect! =(((
I changed my password, I tried resetting the settings and turning on & off the phone and all. Nothing Works!!
this is one of MANY bugs I have after I updated (& made the most terrible mistake of my life) to iOS 6 !!
Apps are crashing & force closing including their new app store. Youtube application is vey slow. Maps aren't accurate not even half the quality of google maps. Screen freezes sometimes =((
I'm very disaapointed at Apple seriously!! this could be their one mistake that will drop down their whole legendary iPhone into the sewer! -
Why is iMessage not in sync with iPhone 4?
I was using the iMessage beta on OSX 10.7 for my iMAC (21.5-inch: 2.5GHz) with no issues and then upgraded to Mountain Lion. My iMessages on my MAC is no longer in sync with the Messages in my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1.1), (all messages are sent from my iPhone). Messages is always up to date on my iPhone but the only messages that show on my iMAC are the ones before the Mountain Lion upgrade. Any ideas?

The same thing with receiving messages.
My settings are on both the i-devices the same:
Setting
State
iMessage
ON
Send Read Receipts
ON
Send & Receive
2 Email Addresses
Show Subject Field
OFF
Send & Receive:
Apple ID: ***@me.com
You can be reached by iMessage at:
***@icloud.com [Selected]
***@me.com [Selected]
Start new conversations from:
***@icloud.com
***@me.com [Selected]
(The @me.com and @icloud.com addresses are the same in front of the @)
Any suggestions on what is going wrong?

IPad Mini / iMessage not syncing
Morning,
Just noticed for the second time that my iPad Mini isn't updating iMessage, I had this problem last weekend.
It has all the threads in there from about 2 days ago, now last time this happened when i replied within them outdated threads on the iPad Mini it started a new message thread for the other person on there device. I had to wipe and start again on my iPad, I have also noticed the same issue with my other half's iPad 2.

IMessage not syncing between mac and iphone
I recently upgraded to Mavericks (10.9.3) and iMessages no longer sync between my iPhone and my Mac Pro. I've checked the Support data base as well as Google and have followed the recommendations to check preferences on all devices and to restart all devices, but that doesn't seem to have solved the problem. Messages being sent from my iPhone 4S simply don't show up on my Mac. Can anyone provide assistance/ideas??
Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

IMessage not syncing with iPhone
Hi,
Out of nowhere my iPhone iMessages and MacBook Pro iMessages aren't syncing. My iPhone messages come in as normal from my phone number, but my MacBook Air iMessages are only coming and out via the email address I have linked to iCloud.
Has this happened to anyone? How do I get my iPhone and MBP to both use my phone number for iMessages.Hi there lbass23,
You may find the information in the article below helpful.

IMessage not signing in anymore - MacBook OS 10.9.5
A couple weeks ago, iMessage suddenly stopped syncing on my Mac. I noticed I could see previous conversations, but it looked as if I was "offline." I went into preferences and noticed that my Apple ID account wasn't logged in, so I typed in my password, and it just sat there with a spinning wheel doing nothing. I finally force quit the program, and upon opening it again, now I can't get past the main login screen. I type in my Apple ID and password, then a pop up box asks for my iMessage password, and upon typing it in and hitting Sign In, it just sits there on the main login screen yet again greyed out with the spinning wheel. It will sit there like this for hours if I let it, until I finally just force quit.
I've tried googling for similar issues but I'm not finding any good results. Anyone have any ideas?
To clarify, now that I can't get past the main login screen, I can't even access Preferences anymore. It's greyed out. Also my password is correct, I used it to create this post. I am not receiving any error messages whatsoever, just the spinning wheel that never tires.Hi,
Can you use the Apple Icon Menu top left and open the About this Mac item.
In here click twice on the line that shows your the current OS.
It will change to the Build Number then the Serial Number.
Is the Serial Number present ?
If it is then go to Applications/Utilities and open the Keychain Access app.
In here have Login selected top left.
Have Passwords selected lower left and then find the item that reads "IDS: YourAppleID.com-Auth Token" in the right hand pane and delete it.
Restart Messages.
If that does not work Open the Font Book
Scroll to near the Bottom and find AppleGothic (all one word)
Check this is Enabled, Validates (File Menu) and is not duplicated.
Repeat for Helvetica Neue and Lucida Grande that the app also uses.
If that does not work can you use or create an Mac User Account that is different from your regular Mac User login and set up the Messages app > iMessages account with the same details and test it in that Mac User account.
If the Guest option is enabled in System Preferences > User and Groups you can test in that login.

I am unable to sync my music, applications, movies, etc. to my iPod touch. The only way I am able to bypass the message that pops out when I try to sync (the one in the title) is by clicking "Apply" instead of "Sync". To do this, I make changes to Apps, Music, or Movies (...) and the buttons "Revert" and "Apply" will replace the button "Sync".
My problem is most likely not due to using many accounts because I only have one and it is the only one that I use. I do not share accounts with my family members. Still, I have tried everything here, nothing has worked for me. Since I don't often listen to Podcasts, I have deleted them from my iPod. I have no idea why I am unable to sync and no one seems to have the same problem as me.

IPad could not be Synced because it is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on iPad
I recently purchased an IPAD AIR and synced ir with my comuter. 14 days later I try and SYNC it and I get a message " The IPAD could not be synced because this computer is no longe authorized for purchased items that are on this IPAD. The problem appeared to be a Pending Request on the IPAD for the new ICLOUD option to share Keychain. I cleared that up and it appears that fixed the issue. Thanks for your help

I want to move voice memos from iPhone to PC (not just sync to itunes)
Hi,
I want to move voice memos from my iPhone to Windows desktop. I saw several posts about syncing them to iTunes. Thats not what i want. I want to copy them to my desktop not just sync to iTunes. Unable to copy - paste from iTunes either.impossible to do anything simple on iTunes, I managed to wipe all my recorded voice memos when I tried to move my files from iphone to desktop, instead they just "sync" I never got the point with sync, why can't you just export files and import files from desktop, simple as that why make it so complicated

Does any-one perhaps know whether there's a voice recording app for ipad that shares directly via iMessage (not just email) - like voice memo does on iphone?
You can't do anything in the background of iOS. Apps are still one at a time (with a few exceptions like Music), and suspend when the app is closed. It's also against the App Store guidelines to sell apps that would allow such actions.
Though, maybe you could get your Voice Memos saved to MP3's, which can play in the background of other apps.
