IMessage not working for two contacts

Hi:
In the past week, I have discovered that two of my contacts can't receive messages from me or send them to me. They have both upgraded to ios 8. I am still using 7.1.2. I can still use iMessage for all my other contacts and texting for those that don't have an iPhone. We have all tried restarting our phones. How do we fix this?
Thank you!

  • *imessage not working for few contacts

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 4 and about a few days ago, my imessages refuses to work for only a few of my contacts. For example, I tried to send an imessage to my sister the other day (who also has an iPhone 4 with imessage activated & on), but the "send" button is green and will only allow me to send as text messages. This was the same for my sister who tried to send me an imessage; she can only send it through text to me.
I tried turning the imessage system on and off and even re-activated it for both my sister and me, but it still didn't solve the problem.
My mom who has a mini-iPad is also having this problem with me. She nor I cannot send messages through imessage either...
This is really frustrating because this was sort of the main communication source between her and me since I am away at school.
If anyone can please help us out or even give us a few helpful pointers, I will be more than greatly appreciated.
Thank you again and you can also e-mail me at [email protected] for quicker communication.
    Thank you!
    Jenny

    Hi everyone,
I solved my problem by using "razmee209"'s help as well as reseting network settings.
    Thank you!

  • IMessage not working with some contacts

I have ipad2, iMessage not working with contacts except between my son and my iPad.  Get a red exclamation mark and send button is greyed out.  Have rebooted, reactivated apple id and email address.  Running latest software. Can anyone help please.

Imessage only works to other folks who have a device on ios5, and who have activated i message.  In their set up, theyndeclared one or more specific 'receive at' addresses.  Are the folks you are trying to reach on apple devices with i mesage?  The red exclamation means, i think, that the apple server did not find that address as registered.

  • IMessage not working for an iPhone contact

I'm having an issue where 3 iMessages went undelivered so i sent it as a regular text.  Now it is stuck on regular SMS text for this one contact.  All other iMessages work to other contacts.  I've tried rebooting, resetting my network on the phone and turning iMessage on and off but nothing works.  The other person has tried doing the same also.  Can anyone help with this?  It is a corporate phone and I have limited regular SMS texts but unlimited iMessages. My phone is an iPhone 4s, not sure what his is.
    TIA,
    Rick

    Hi BonusCup,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you are sending SMS only to one contact only. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you can't send messages to a certain recipient, delete any conversations you have with them and try sending a new message. When you delete a conversation, you won’t be able to recover it.
    Cheers,

  • IMessage not working for one iphone contact?

For one particular contact, I am unable to send messages through iMessage and they instead send as texts. Both of us have iPhones and have checked the settings. I reset my iMessage, and also restarted my phone but the messages continue to send as texts. Is there any way to fix this?

I had this problem, I fixed it by editing the mobile number in contacts. Just deleted the last digit and typed it back in. I thought the contact had iMessage turned off, and her go through settings but it was set correctly. It seems the early iOS 7 iMessage issues caused this issue in later version of iOS 7.1.x
I had two contacts I had to do this to.

  • IMessage not working for only one contact, but across all devices

I have been iMessaging my friend for over a year, we both have iMessage enabled on our devices and it was worked consistently up until 2 days ago, when I tried to send her a message from my MacBook Pro and it said she no longer had iMessage available, I went to my iPhone 5 to try and send her a message, but it would not send to her, and would only send as an iMessage, she told me that she has been able to iMessage other people as have I, I have tried turning iMessage off on both of my devices and it still does not work, suggestions anyone? I know it's not crucial to have iMessage it's just something that's been bothering me.

Have her turn imessage off and back on and see if that works.

  • Condtion not working for two records

    Hi All,
The issue is though the query has conditions to suppress 0 values from the output, strangely, for two account numbers ,that is not happening somehow. They are appearing and showing 0 value in the report, and the data seems correct.
I have attached two files for better understanding
    1. Condition Screen Shot : Which should suppress Zero Values
    2. Bex Report : Which is displaying 0 Variances in the report.
Please note this issue is for only two Account Numbers i.e  171105109 and 172115101. For remaining account numbers it suppressing 0 Values as expected.
    Thanks,
    Asim

    Hi,
G/L A/c and Chart of accounts has relation ships (Functional ) i already mentioned  in my previous rply suppress zero values can be done without using condition  and your query showing in correct according to suppress zero values logic.
Refer below how G/L a/c and Chart of A/c are related :
Chart of Accounts - General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL) (New) - SAP Library
    Thanks.

  • Outlook 2010 "Send Plain text only" not working for individual contacts

    We have a Outlook 2010/Exchange 2007 environment
If you go to Outlook Properties of a contact and change from "Let Outlook decide the best sending format" to "Send Plain text only", it is supposed to force Outlook to send a Plain text
    email
    to that contact.
But it is still sending HTML.  This is happening with any contact I try this with.
While composing the email I can change it to Plain text manually and that works fine.
    Not sure what gives...

    Hi,
I recommend that you check the global remote domain setting if set to send plain text.
If not , the remote domain setting will override the change of the contact's properties when sending email out.
More details refer to the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232174(v=exchg.141).aspx
Remote domain settings   Remote domains define the settings for outgoing message transfers between the Exchange 2010 organization and domains outside the Active Directory forest. Even if you don't create remote domain entries
for specific domains, there's a predefined remote domain named Default that applies to all remote address spaces (*).
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks.

  • Imessage not working between two iPhones

We just got our son an Iphone 5C for christmas!  iMessage works just fine between his phone, his mother and brothers iPhones but not with my iPhone. He can send me an iMessage which I can recieve just fine but any reply I make to him is showing as a "green" (SMS) text. This is only happening with his phone and mine, any other texts I send to my wife or other son go thru as "blues". All phones are properly registered with apple with their own IDs and are all up to date with iOS 7.0.4
    Thoughts? Ideas? suggestions?

  • IMessage not working with ONE contact after changing phone number

Ok.. I changed my phone number Friday night. (same device) Once I restarted my phone and programmed it (*228) everything was working fine except one contact with iMessage. Since Friday night just one contact will only go through as SMS message. My other imessage users are all going back and forth as blue. This person I am having the problem with is also sending and receiving imessages with other contacts, just to me it is going through as text as well. Any help? I've shut iMessage off and on a bunch of times, turned the phone on and off... nothing seems to be working.. Any advice would be great!

I have the same trouble with one of my contacts and I have been using my iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd generation) for a while. I hope we can get a solution.

  • IMessage not working for one recipient, but is for others

I recently restored my iPhone 4 from an iCloud backup (I accidentally deleted 2.5 years worth of messages from my fiancee that I didn't want to lose).  Now, I can use iMessage with everyone except for my fiancee.  I've tried several other people, and they receive iMessages, but for her it defaults to normal SMS messages.  In Settings, I've tried signing out of iMessage and back in, I've tried logging out of iCloud and deleting that data from my phone before logging back in, I even tried making a FaceTime call with my fiancee (which worked perfectly).  Any ideas?

Actually yes.  I was just coming back here to close this ticket, since I just got a message from her that she had accidentally turned it off.  At least it was a simple fix.  Thanks for the suggestion.
