IMessage Not working on 4g iOS 6.0

Hey!
So I recently got my iphone 4g, and now i downloaded the iOS 6.0 and hoped my iMessage would be working nice and smoothly... but it isint. For whatever reason, I can't get it to work. whenever i send a text, and i send it to another iphone that has imessage working, my Phone tries to send the text via iMessage ( the color is blue) and it seems to work ( the sending bar is blue and nearly reaches the end) and than it just stops and doesnt work. I have than to send it via normal text message.
I tried reseting my network, tried turning iMessage on and off, restarting the phone itself. Nothing seems to help.
My apple account does work, i just downloaded a new app a second ago, my card is connected to the account, and iCloud works fine.
Please help, i have no more ideas what to do.
PS. My phone is not jailbreaked if any1 asks !

I think I have fixed the problem. I tried resetting, etc. I also tried turning off iMessage and then reactivating. it would work for a short time and then lose it.
I noticed that I could not iMessage to my personal email address, which is set up in iCloud. When I tried, the Send button stayed grayed out.
So I edited my contact record, changing the order of two email addresses in the contact record. I had an email address custom labeled iPhone email, and that one was first in my contact record. I changed the order first, making my home (primary) email address the first email in the record. Then, I reentered my phone email address as the last email in the record, and relabeled the phone email address label to read phone emai. Voila! I got a lovely blue talk bubble next to my home/personal email address (the one that is set up with iMessage). Morevoer, I could then direct an iMessage to it. It now syncs my conversations on all devices (iMac, iPhone, iPad 2).
FWIW, iPad is still running iOS 6.0, but if this fix holds, I will update that later today.

Go into Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings (this will cause you to forget your WIFI network passwords you have entered) but I have found doing this to help me when I had weird imessage/texting issues.

Ever since updating my iPhone 5S to iOS 7.1, my iMessages have been playing up. I will send a message to someone and 5 minutes later it will tell me that it didn't send, but the person gets my message anyway. And I will not recieve messages until hours after they have been sent. Very annoying please tell me how to resolve this problem!! I have tried turning it off and back on again, no change.

You shouldn't have to hard restart and it shouldn't have anything to do with your router. If anyone else runs into this problem try resetting the network settings on your phone. All the steps to do this can be found here http://tekshot5.com/ios-5-1-imessage-fix/
Edit: Some of us don't have the option of resetting our DNS servers. I run my own for example for caching purposes.

BTW- Your profile shows you have iOS 6.1.4 installed. The max iOS for an iPad is 6.1.3. iOS 6.1.4 is for iPhones only.

Both you and the recipient have to have active data connections, and both devices have to have iOS 5 or higher to be able to use iMessage. Also, they both have to have iMessage activated. If that is already the case, there is a possiblility that iMessage is down. It has gone up and down several times in the past week. IMessage not working even after 'fix'

My iMessage on my iPhone 4 is not working. Phone is updated to most recent update. Sends iMessages to some people but not others and the people who I cannot send to also can't send to me, regardless of being on wifi or mobile network. I have tried the turn off imessage, reset network settings etc but still no improvement. Would be very helpful if anyone could give me some advice?

Macrumors posted a solution for this. I used it and it seems to have worked for me.
Here's what they said:
1. Turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages
2. Reset networking settings in Settings > General > Reset
3. Reenable iMessage in Settings > Messages

This sounds more like a hardware issue.
Have you checked that the dock connector port is not dirty?

Imessage only works to other folks who have a device on ios5, and who have activated i message. In their set up, theyndeclared one or more specific 'receive at' addresses. Are the folks you are trying to reach on apple devices with i mesage? The red exclamation means, i think, that the apple server did not find that address as registered.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
