IMessage not working on iPhone 5 iOS 7.1.1 with 3G or LTE

iMessage has stopped working with 3G and/or LTE on my iPhone 5 after recently updating to iOS 7.1.1. It works if I am connected to wifi and otherwise my 3G network works fine with all other apps. I have tried reactivating iMessage, rebooting the phone by pressing power and home buttons at same time, and have even restored my phone to the factory settings and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas on whats up?

Ditto, iPhone 4 with IOS 5.0.1 although it started right after upgrade to IOS 5. I have tried reset but no luck. Given all the other problems people are having with the upgrade (lost contacts, lost music, worse battery life, lock ups) I'm not in the mood to restore to an earlier version and try a reload of IOS 5.
Someone has to know how to fix this, anyone live near a "genius" store? My closest one is 160 miles away.

IMessage not working since upgrading to ios 5.1 iPhone or iPad??!!

Both myself and my partner have iPhones. I'm on a 4S she has my old 3GS. Since we both updated to 5.1 iMessage doesn't work, anyone I know who hasn't upgraded past 5.0, iMessage still works. Any ideas. Auto time update is on, on both handsets, it's strange as it was working for a few days after the update then it suddenly stopped one afternoon and hasn't worked since.

Try turning iMessage off, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on.

IMessage not working after updating to IOS 6.1

I just updated to IOS 6.1 on my iPad (version 3). When the iPad rebooted it was not connected to the internet - I connect through bluetooth with my iphone as a hotspot. I proceeded past that point without a connection. Now my iMessage does not work. It gets caught up when the bar indicates the message is almost sent. Then the red ! appears and the message is not delivered.
What do I need to do to get this working again?

I think I have fixed the problem. I tried resetting, etc. I also tried turning off iMessage and then reactivating. it would work for a short time and then lose it.
I noticed that I could not iMessage to my personal email address, which is set up in iCloud. When I tried, the Send button stayed grayed out.
So I edited my contact record, changing the order of two email addresses in the contact record. I had an email address custom labeled iPhone email, and that one was first in my contact record. I changed the order first, making my home (primary) email address the first email in the record. Then, I reentered my phone email address as the last email in the record, and relabeled the phone email address label to read phone emai. Voila! I got a lovely blue talk bubble next to my home/personal email address (the one that is set up with iMessage). Morevoer, I could then direct an iMessage to it. It now syncs my conversations on all devices (iMac, iPhone, iPad 2).
FWIW, iPad is still running iOS 6.0, but if this fix holds, I will update that later today.

Visual Voicemail not working on iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.2

Before I get into the specifics, I want to say YES, I already called AT&T about this. Their Tier 2 support guy couldn't resolve it so it's been elevated to a support ticket and I'm waiting for a reply. I'd just like to know if there's anything I can try on my end, or if there's any telltale sign of a defective unit.
The phone: iPhone 4, 8GB, AT&T. 2 years old, off-contract. Unlocked. iOS 7.0.2
We just got back from a European trip and the visual voicemail on my wife's iPhone 4 is not working. Before we left, I unlocked it via iTunes and updated to iOS 7. I didn't want to upate the OS but iTunes was not giving me a choice, despite trying the various options to keep it on iOS 6 (believe me, I tried). Anyway, in Sweden I bought prepay SIM cards for our phones and used those on the whole trip, swapping the ATT sims back in once we got home. We both had issues with our voicemail after that, with repeated prompts for our password and having to go to AT&T to reset it and all that bizness. My 4S is working fine now, her 4 is not.
She knew she had at least 3 voicemails while we were gone but they were not showing up. Last night I checked for a carrier update, then set the iPhone to update to 7.0.2 while we slept; woke up to find the update had FAILED and the iPhone seemed bricked. After updating iTunes and repairing permissions, finally got the phone back up and updated, with a long restore from backup with apps and music. Still no new voicemails. I 'Reset Network Settings' to no avail, after working through all the steps in the Apple Knowledgebase article. So I called AT&T. The first tech did several things (on/off. more Network Settings resets) and the old voicemails did show up -- but no NEW ones would pop up when she made test calls. The tier 2 guy did some resets on their end, still no joy on showing new voicemails. As a last-ditch effort, he reset the entire voicemail account for that phone. Now visual voicemail is completely GONE. Pressing the button just calls voicemail and prompts you for the password. New voicemails are in the system, but there's no prompt on the phone that you even have one, you have to call.
SO... anyone else have this issue? The AT&T guy seemed to be at the end of his rope and had nothing left to try on his end. He thought it was a hardware issue, though everything was working fine before I a) upgraded to 7 and b) swapped SIM cards. Is there ANYTHING ELSE I can try on my end to see if its an issue with the iPhone versus an AT&T problem?

Generally, when going out of the country and using a foreign SIM, carrier files can be changed. Go to Settings>General>About>and look at Carrier? What does it say? You may have to perform a restore. You can try a restore from a backup, that would reinstall the iOS, and would provide the latest AT&T carrier file as well. See if this will fix the problem.

Music not working on iPhone after iOS 5 upgrade

Hi all,
Apparently I spoke too soon- To review, ever since I upgraded to iOS 5, the iPod functionality of my iPhone (ie all of my music) doesn't function. It worked for the first day or so, then when I tried to start the app, it would present with a blank white screen for about 10 seconds, then just quit. I've restarted, reset, and restored, and the only thing that helped was restoring (I've restored about 4 times now). It would then work for about a day, then not work again. I eventually got tired of restoring, and just 'unsynced' my music, then resynced again. That would again work for about a day, then I'd have to repeat that process. Now, not even resyncing my music works.
Otherwise the phone seems to be working well- no other app issues or usage issues. I'd occasionally get an error (-34) or (-50) while syncing, but I'd just 'eject' the phone, and reattach and it would sync.
I'm using iCloud for backup, and I'm syncing wirelessly, unless I restore or unsync my music, at which time I'll hook it directly to the computer.
Any suggestions?

Sorry, but no suggestions....I have the same problem I think... my music app just goes to a white screen then back to the home page. if i search for a song it will find it, but when i try to play it, i get a black scrren, then just back to home page. the app has worked a lot, but this has happened a few times prior and has resolved itself (not sure how), but now i can't get my music to work at all. video, everything else works...this is on iphone4s with ios 5.0.1. there's a definite bug here and hopefully enough people will complain about it to get apple to fix it! I get the feeling it has something to do with a large music library (I have 46GB) and large/complex playlists. I also seem to have a syncing problem in that music rating changes made on iphone don't get syncd back to by windows pc library. I noticed this just before the music app stopped working completely. Apple.. please help!

Internet (partially) not working on iPhone post iOS 8.1 update

I updated my iPhone to iOS 8.1 this morning (iPhone 5S, 64GB).
Since then, I don't seem to be able to access data through the cellular connection, EXCEPT:
- data seems to work in SOME apps (but some apps will load text, but not images for example). Same problem on emails through Mail
- most websites won't load, though bizarrely Google does (not just cached - I can make new searches)
No problem with reception. And have also tried reinstalling the carrier's WAP settings, but hasn't changed anything.
Any suggestions?!

Imessage not working on iPad since iOS 7

Very frustrated.
Since the ios7 update my imessage and facetime on my ipad are not working, iphone is fine.
I have reset ipad , i have forgot device on wifi and reset it. Ive read all advice here and nothing works. It tells me to check my connection.
Im using my apple account ive always used im using the wifi i use on my phone , ive checked all my passwords etc etc etc
Now im just frustrated as dont know what else to do... Please help.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Imessage not working on iphone 4

for some reason today, imessage stopped working on my iphone. I contacted sprint and did as they said but it still doesnt work. When i try to sign in with my apple ID it says "iMessage Activation the user name or password for "******" was incorrect. Try again."
I know for a fact that im not putting the incorrect information because I signed into other things with the exact same things but for some reason iMessage and facetime are'nt working. If you need any info just ask i really need this fixed. Thanks!

Facetime and imessage not working after updating to ios 7

Facetime and imessage is not working at my 4s phone but on my ipad mini and iphone4 it is. What do i need to do? I have reset and sign out my account but still i cant activate it.

backup the device with itunes.
Restore the device with itunes and set up as new.
Sign into the facetime and imessage to activate it.
After that is done and activation is good.
Restore from the backup.
Then make sure to sign into facetime and imessage again and you should be good to go

IMessage not working between iPhone 4 and iPhone 5?

Three friends of mine have recently upgraded to the iPhone 5. I'm still on iPhone 4.
Since the switch over, iMessage has stopped working between my phone, the iPhone 4 and their's, the iPhone 5.
iMessage still works to my other friends on their iPhone 4's....
Can someone explain/help fix this please? We all live & work in bad reception areas in the countryside so having iMessage work to send messages over wifi is super important!

Hotmail accounts not working on iPhone 6 - IOS 8.3?

I've realised over the last few days that I've not been getting emails on my iPhone, they do still come through on my Mac. I read a few threads that seem to put it down to the new IOS upgrade, but I can't remember when I upgraded to IOS 8.3 and when the emails stopped coming, but it does seem quite coincidental.
I thought I delete the accounts on my iphone but it won't let me, it just keeps hanging with the screen showing deleting, but it doesn't delete. I have to force a quit out of settings to get out of the screen.
I also tried sending an email from each account to see if it would work but it also hangs on sending at the bottom of the screen.
My iPhone 6 is only a few weeks old and I'm not sure what I'm meant to do now. Why can I not delete the email accounts? Why has my iPhone stopped sending and receiving them?
Any help very much appreciated!

IMessage not working on iPhone 5 on Rogers

It hasn't been working for quite some time now and it's very annoying..I live in southern Alberta in Canada and on the Rogers network using iPhone 5. Any fixes?

I'm not sure it would be just that particular network, but iMessage uses data via the Apple servers. Go to Settings>Messages>and see if iMessage is activated. If not, turn it on and see if it activates. If it is, you might want to turn it off, wait about 30 seconds and then turn it back on and see if it activates.
