Imessage not working on my iphone4s

Hey can someone out there please help me. I got the iphon4s new and the imessage not working. Its saying it waiting on verification.

I restore my phone and nothing didn't work it went back to the same way it was saying its still waiting for activation. But the weird thing is that my iMessage was still working but it still said waiting for activation. So I don't know what to do anymore. All my apps got deleted but didn't help nothing at all. :(

Yes there genuine apple earphones I have now blown down jack slot and silly enough I turned my phone off and now it's back on earphones working properly now feeling a wee but silly as such a simple thing got them working.

BTW- Your profile shows you have iOS 6.1.4 installed. The max iOS for an iPad is 6.1.3. iOS 6.1.4 is for iPhones only.

Both you and the recipient have to have active data connections, and both devices have to have iOS 5 or higher to be able to use iMessage. Also, they both have to have iMessage activated. If that is already the case, there is a possiblility that iMessage is down. It has gone up and down several times in the past week. IMessage not working even after 'fix'

My iMessage on my iPhone 4 is not working. Phone is updated to most recent update. Sends iMessages to some people but not others and the people who I cannot send to also can't send to me, regardless of being on wifi or mobile network. I have tried the turn off imessage, reset network settings etc but still no improvement. Would be very helpful if anyone could give me some advice?

Macrumors posted a solution for this. I used it and it seems to have worked for me.
Here's what they said:
1. Turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages
2. Reset networking settings in Settings > General > Reset
3. Reenable iMessage in Settings > Messages

You shouldn't have to hard restart and it shouldn't have anything to do with your router. If anyone else runs into this problem try resetting the network settings on your phone. All the steps to do this can be found here http://tekshot5.com/ios-5-1-imessage-fix/
Edit: Some of us don't have the option of resetting our DNS servers. I run my own for example for caching purposes.

I have ipad2, iMessage not working with contacts except between my son and my iPad. Get a red exclamation mark and send button is greyed out. Have rebooted, reactivated apple id and email address. Running latest software. Can anyone help please.

Imessage only works to other folks who have a device on ios5, and who have activated i message. In their set up, theyndeclared one or more specific 'receive at' addresses. Are the folks you are trying to reach on apple devices with i mesage? The red exclamation means, i think, that the apple server did not find that address as registered.

Had 3 online chats with apple support but still not fixed. iPad air issues also; safari shuts down a lot on mine and my husbands iMessage not working. iMessage works on his 5S. Never had so many issues with Apple before. I receive SMS messages on 5S but no iMessage. It was suggested to me that I get a new sim or try another wifi, both seem odd given everything else works.
My husband and I got our phones the same day, his works right, mine doesn't.
iPad airs were purchased a month apart, mine works ok apart from safari shutdowns and his iMessage not working.
Also the slider to answer calls on both phones not always working. Had to reboot one of them and it forced us to set it up again from scratch.
Any ideas?
