  • Anyone know a fix for the imessage to android bug

Does any one know how to fix the imessage to android bug?

    Thanks Les.
FX has just provided an update that is suppose to fix this issue but the update fails to download...I guess I'll just wait a couple of hours until they fix it.
In the meantime I turned off the plugin and it's now working. At the moment I just need to draw in illustrator so fonts aren't a worry for now.
    I appreciate your help

  • Using iMessage with android user possible ?

Does an android user can communcate with le on iMessage even if he does not have an iphone ?
Does he have to download an "iMessage" app or something ? Does he need an app iD ? Please explain .

No. The iMessage service works between Apple devices, not crapdroid. You can send SMS messages to this user from their phone, or they can get an iPod touch, iPhone or iPad.

  • IPhone tries to send iMessage to android

I don't own iPhones but my parents does( 5S with iOS7). I have a HTC one. We got these new phones in OCT and this the first time any of us owned smartphones. In the process of switching carriers, I got a new number.
After the upgrade however, I could not get any text from my parents. They will call and ask why I am not responding but I never got any of them. When they send me a text message, the phone says it's an iMessage which is for iOS device only. This is actually happening for my friends with iPhones as well.
We called carrier support and they said the problem is in iOS7 the "send as sms" option in messaging. is disabled by default. They suggested a few workarounds:
    1. Enable 'send as SMS" and wait till the message fails and iphone will resend it.
    2. Long press and select "send as SMS text".
Without these 2 workaround, I will still get nothing.
My question is, why does iPhone tries to send my android iMessage in the first place? The same thing doesn't seem to be happening to my friends' android phones. These workaround solves the problem between my parents iphone to me but I cannot tell everyone I text "hey turn Send as SMS option", especially if I missed their message in the first place.
What should I do? Does anyone here have a similar problem?
    TIA.

Unfortunately, the only way seems to be to contact Apple support. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5185

  • Iphone, iMessage, and Android users that have other iDevices

    Hello,
I have a friend who has an iPad and an Android phone.
Her email address is [email protected]
Her AppliID for iTunes is [email protected]
Her phone number is on an Android device
In my contacts I have her listed as a normal contact, First Name, Last Name, with the main emai set to [email protected]
If she sends me a SMS message from her Android phone, it comes in from her phone number, and shows up as First Name, Last Name
If she sends me a iMessage from her iPad it comes in as an iMessage [email protected]
So I end up with two listings in my messages list on my iPhone, but they both have the same name.  Not a big deal, I actually don't mind this.  However, It's hard to tell the two apart, other than the Android to my iPhone messages will be all green as they are texts, and the iPad to iPhone will be greeb and blue as they are iMessages.
I thought to make two contacts, and call one First Name (Android) and the other First Name (iPad) or something similar, however, they both share the same email address, which means when I send her an email, it will be addressed to one of the two, and contain the iPhone or iPad marker in it.
If I could just get her to change to a gmail or other account, this would all go away, but I really shouldn't have to.  Can anyone thing of an elegant solution to this problem?  It's often a pain, as I send her a reply, and end up sending it to her phone, when I wanted to send it to her iPad, or the other way around.

    Hello Scott,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the Messages app.  You can view where the messages are sent from by viewing the contact info in Messages. Simply tap “Contact” in the top right corner, then tap the icon. This will bring up the contact card, and the number the message was sent to will be highlighted in blue.
View someone’s contact info in Messages.
To quickly view someone's contact info in Messages, tap Contact.
    - Tap to call that person or to use FaceTime
    - Tap to see the person’s complete contact info
If they're not already a contact, you can tap Create New Contact to add them.

  • Texts still sending as iMessage to Android device

Here is my rant/how do I fix.
This garbage wanna be waste of time iMessage keeps telling me I'm using iMessage to send my dad's android messages.
He just got rid of his iPhone 4S since he thought it sucked. I've tried deleting his number, deleting complete contact. Turning iMessage off won't even allow me to send him a text. It's not iOS6 but since iOS5 did this to me too. I'm tired off this non sense Apple is doing to try and compete with Android since Android is all high-tech. I may have to jump off the Apple band wagon, I've been touching squares on my iPhone since the first iPhone. But will I go to any other phone? Android and others are ugly and have ugly an OS. I'm going to a Jitter Bug phone. lol no, but god I'm tired of this stupid garbage non-sense but yet I'm still waiting for the iPhone 5 to drop so I can go get that piece of sh*t and complain about that having problems. HOW DO YOU FIX THIS IMESSAGE GARBAGE?! My dad doesnt know how to delete his iphone from apple or whatever or have access to another iphone since hes on sprint now with android.
If you like pop tarts im afraid of turtles and I eat toasters. ****.
AND NOW I CANT SELECT iOS6 for the operating system down below?!?!!? OMG IM GOING TO SMASH MY IPHONE AND PROBABLY END UP BUYING A 4S AND WASTE 400$ THEN ANOTHER 500$ TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT AND GET THE IPHONE 5. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME.

Apple had me do that and I've logged in and removed my iPhone from my Apple ID and the issue persists. Don't know if I'm an anomoly, but this still didn't help.
After being shut down by the phone apple support I just made an appointment at a local apple store and they've been much more helpful face-to-face. Because of some issues logging into my verizon account we haven't completed this procedure yet, but this is what my apple store rep thinks will work: They've offered to use a refurb iphone they have lying around and turn service on to that (& my android off) then go into settings and turn off iMessage. Then they'll turn my android back on and they think I'll be good to go. One concern apple initially had was that I would burn my SIM card by turning on the iPhone, I've talked to verizon and they said this won't happen as the new format of SIM allows you to switch from SIM to non-SIM and back to SIM again without issue. Haven't tested this yet though. Appointment with the apple store tomorrow, hopefully it will end the headaches.
FWIW I did ask my local verizon store if they would be kind enough to do this procedure for me (since they shut down the iPhone in the first place) and they not only declined, but also told me there was no way that I could possibly be having the problem I was describing...even after showing screenshot's from the iphones trying to send me messages.

  • Group text sends iMessage to android phone

    Hi there,
So I'm having an issue where essentially my phone refuses to send SMS messages, but rather iMessage in a group text where one of the members is using an android phone. It should be noted that when I am sending him a text individually, it correctly sends SMS messages. Other people's iPhones in the group text are able to properly switch to SMS while sending the text but not mine for some reason. While I can properly send SMS messages by turning off iMessage to send it, it's a PITA to do it every time just for the group text and then I also have to set up handoff for my mac again.

  • IMessage and Androids

My daughter switched to a Droid and now we are having lots of issues with text messages. If I turn on iMessage in my settings she can not receive or send messages to me. If I turn off iMessage she the Droid is fine but my wife who has an iphone no longer gets or receives my messages.
I have tried setting iMessage off sending a message to the Droid thinking my phone would remember the setting to that number but it doesn't when I switch back to iMessage.
    Can some one help?

The problem is that her phone number is still registered with Apple's iMessage server, and as such, messages from iMessage users will continue to be sent to her as iMessages as the server still believes her number can receive them.
To fix this, you'll have to contact Apple support and ask them to unregister her number with iMessage: https://www.apple.com/support/contact/.

  • Any soft on android for iMessages between android and ios

I m using my ipad3 and now got a new samsung s5 so dm stuck on using imessages begoz I liked it very much
help someone if hv any info

Check the App Store for an app that allows texting between SMS and  your iPad. The app provider takes the SMS message and turns it into a iMessage.

  • Frustrated imessage to android

hey guys, i sold my iphone 4 and bought a galaxy nexus. before i sold it and did a restore. now when im on my nexus i cant receive messages from my friends who have iphones (they have SMS plan). the only way for them to send it to me is for them to turn off iMessage. on my brothers iphone when i try to send my self a message it appears as imessage so i dont end up getting anything at all. how do i fix this? i have logged in into apple.com and unregistered my device from them. but yet still cant receive texts

There are a couple of reported methods of fixing this - seems a little hit and miss but have a go:
Get your friend to  change their imessage settings to send via phone network (switch off iMessage). It takes a few hours for it to propagate throughout apple's servers.
    Or
If you can, use someone else's iOS device, sign them out of iMessage, add the account you want to deactivate, turn off iMessage, sign out and let your friend have their iPhone back
    Good luck

  • Is there a way to send and receive SMS on multiple cellular devices without using iMessage?

I currently own a cellular iPad mini and an iPhone 4s and would like SMS to be the same on both devices as well as my desktop.
After many months of struggling with iMessage, I decided to turn it off entirely.  I discovered that my best friend did not receive dozens of my texts over the span of a few months (I compared our message history side by side).  Seems like it had something to do with traveling in and out of wifi zones or possibly conflicts between our two carriers, ATT and Verizon.  Regardless, I am not willing to dive into iMessage fully until this gets sorted out.  Further, SMS is the standard message format for everyone outside of the Apple sphere, and I do not feel comfortable lumping them together into one app.  If I decide to switch to Android, will all of my contacts with iPhones continue sending me iMessages?
    Thank you for your help!

Is there a way to send and receive SMS on multiple cellular devices without using iMessage?
Search the iTunes App Store for any 3rd party SMS apps that may be available.
If I decide to switch to Android, will all of my contacts with iPhones continue sending me iMessages?
Android phones don't receive iMessages, they can recieve SMS messages sent through the iOS Messages app. The app that your contacts choose to use to send you messages is completely up to them.

  • Iphone to Android

I recently switched from an Iphone 4s to a Samsung Galaxy S5. I already unregistered my number on Apple support and called them several times regarding this matter, and I have reset my icloud password, logged out of my facetime and messaging on my macbook. Sometimes I get messages from Iphone users and sometimes I don't. But I still do not get group messages from iphone users. HELP!

I understand this, what I'm trying to do is stop iMessage from hijacking messages. I want them to go SMS so I can communicate with my iPhone wielding friends.
To be extra clear, I don't want iMessage on Android, I want to be able to talk to my friends via text message on my new Android device.
When they send me a message it never gets to me. When I send them a message it shows up green, they get it. They reply and nothing!

  • TS2755 can i send imessage to any non ios devices like any andriod phone

can i send imessage to any non ios devices like any andriod phone?

I'm pretty sure you are full of it unless it was for a specific carrier messaging option. you CANNOT use iMessage with android devices. only iPhones, iPod and iPad running iOS 5.1.

  • TS2755 messages with androids

how to send messages to other phones

The iPod touch can only send messages via iMessage, which Android users cannot receive. The only exception would be if you also have an iPhone, both the iPhone and iPod are running iOS 8, and you go to (on the iPhone) Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable your iPod. If you do not have an iPhone, you'll need to download a third party texting app from the App Store.
