IMessage on ipad2 won't deliver messages!

I've tried EVERTHING but still get "not delivered" message every time I try to send message via iMessage on iPad. Help please

Hi,
I had a similar problem with my iPad. I upgraded it to IOS5 and every time I tried to send a message it came up as "Not Delivered". I couldn't even send a message to myself.
Then I changed my DNS address in my iPad Settings for my Wi-Fi to 8.8.8.8 and messages worked fine!
Hope this helps
Paul

  • Won't Deliver messages through iMessage

Just recently, the messaging function on my 4th generation iPod Touch began to stop working on occasion. I would be in the middle of a messaging conversation and all of a sudden, my message would not deliver. The message will Send all the way, but the notification that it has been "Delivered" will not drop down to my latest message. The only thing that works is if the other person starts to type, my messages will be forced through. The funny thing is that the messaging will be going fine, and then without moving around or disconnecting from wifi or changing settings or anything like that, my messages just won't Deliver. I have had my iTouch for 8 months now and this problem has never lasted more than an hour or two; not it has been going on for 3 days. I only message one person and neither of us have had this problem before, we didnt recently update our iPods. messaging back and forth has been fine for the last 5 since she got her iPhone 4 but now we cannot figure out what to do.
I have done the usual troubleshoot solutions. I have changed my wifi, turned my iTouch off and back on, changed the DNS settings, turned iMessaging off and on, I never get the little ! Not Delivered sign. All the messaging will be fine for 10 minutes and then spotty for hours and then fine for another 15 minutes. Is there anything else I can do?

Does this happen no matter what Wi-Fi network you are connected to? If you aren't sure, I would test this out on other available Wi-Fi network to see if the problem can be isolated to a particular network or if it's just an issue with the iPod Touch itself.
I noticed a similar thing on my iPhone 4 at time, but the messages still go through even though the screen hasn't given me the delivered message.

  • Queue freezing won't deliver messages to mailboxes

Every now and again my queue seems to build up and won't deliver until I stop and start mail services then flush the queue.
Here is my log, It seems to start filling up right after it refreshed the postfix mail system. I then continually get the message that it was skipped, and will still be delivered. But the messages are not being delivered and people sending messages are getting bounce messages. I've pasted the bounce message below the log.

I'm thinking that this could happen soon after I send out a mass email(50-300 users at once) to one of my postfix email groups. It isn't consistent, because it could happen a few minutes after I send one of those mass mailings, but then it doesn't do it all sometimes either.....
Logs aren't giving me anything other than it will say for the first message that won't deliver (queue active) like seen below. This is everything in the log from a message that would deliver to a message that wouldn't.

  • Why won't my iPad won't send messages?

My iPad2 won't send message to person I just received from.  The send button is blue but not active. When I try to send to send a new message to another person their name is red marked with ! and the send button is gray. It won't accept any new name - alwayas in red with !.

Figured it out. The iPad message box has two lines. The first says "Subject" in gray. If you type something into the "Subject" line, but don't type anything on the next line (which is for the message), the send button remains inactive. Try typing the message on the second line. Send button then becomes active.
Now why couldn't Apple tell us that?

  • Imessages won't deliver after cell number change

My husband and I recently changed our cell phone numbers, and now imessages won't deliver between us.  We both have iphone 4, ios5.1, and we had no issues at all until we changed numbers.  We share an apple id, so I've already deleted the id from my phone under Settings/messages/receive at so that it only shows my cell number.  But I still cannot send an imessage to him.  I can send imessages to other friends with iphones, but not his for some reason.  any ideas??

I'm having a similar issue with my iPhone 5. A friend of mine is using his iPod to text me and using his email address and my phone was fine three hours ago (at 3:00pm central time), but now it won't send any of my iMessages... I've signed out of my Apple ID and made sure Facetime was enabled... and it won't send!

If that's a 'soft' reset, then what's a 'hard' reset?

  • I keep getting a "not delivered" message when I try to send a picture through imessage

Over the last week each time I sent a picture in iMessage it goes out then I get a "Not Delivered" message. The other person gets the picture even though it says not delivered.  I've shut iMessage off then back on, I've done a hard shutdown/restart.  I'm not sure what else to do.  Is anyone else having this issue and been able to resolve it?
    Thank you!

  • IPhone 5 - "Not Delivered" Message for Pictures Sent via iMessage

I have received the "not delivered" message when trying to send a picture message via iMessage. The pictures actually are received by the other parties, yet I still get the error message, as do other parties when trying to send photos to me. If the picture is sent via text they send without the error message. Does anyone have any information that could help me with this problem?
    I have the 32GB iPhone 5 on iOS 7.1.1.

Any errors when attempting to view pics?
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?

After the restore did the phone work properly for a while? Say, a day or so?
If so it is possible you have an app that doesn't let go of memory properly. I reboot my iPhone ( hold sleep/wake and hole till you see the apple logo) every few days. This resets the memory. The iPhone OS has doesn't seem to mange memory very well yet. So a reboot will help with that. I have had my phone almost slow to a stop before I started rebooting. Always reboot after installing a new app. Also do you close all pages in Safari when you are done? This is a good practice. Safari will run in the background and use processor time and drain your battery quicker. Create a new blank page then close all others when you are done browsing for a while. I have also found that certain web site that have animated images like weather maps will turn the phone into molasses. As soon as i close that page it gets faster.
If all of the above have no effect then as Tamara said it is time for a trip to the Genius bar.
    Good luck

  • IMessages won't deliver to one specific contact

    Hi there,
I'm having problems with iMessage on my iPhone 4S.
I'm trying to send iMessages to one specific contact - the messages are sending (the progress bar at the top of the messages app completes), but the 'Delivered' notification never comes through. It's most strange, as I was iMessaging this person yesterday without any problems - it's only been a problem since this morning.
I can send/receive iMessages to other contacts without any problems as well, which makes this case even stranger.
I've tried a few suggestions to fix the problem, but so far none of them have worked.
I've turned the phone off and on again multiple times, I've reset my network settings, I've deleted the message thread with this particular contact and started a new one, I've deleted and re-added the contact, and I have turned iMessage off and back on. Nothing has fixed this.
It's not a major problem, but I have to hold down each message and send as a text to this one contact.
I'm not on a contract, don't have phone credit and will run out of free texts soon, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, bar restoring my phone to factory settings - don't really want to go through the effort of putting 13GB of music, photos etc back onto it.
    Thanks for your time.

if ur able to message everyone else just fine, AND u have already deleted that person as a contact and restarted the thread with them, then its not ur phone at all. its theirs. and they need to troubleshoot y they are not receiving imessages.

  • IMessage delivering messages late, REALLY late.

This has been an intermittent problem for most of the life of iMessage for me.  But lately, it has gotten much more reliably worse.
At work, I get very intermittent 3G (or, ahem) 4G service, from AT&T (not their fault, I work in a faraday cage).  If my wife sends an iMessage to my 4S from her 4 when I happen to be getting a bad data signal, it will frequently not get delivered until 6, 10 or the record, 17 hours later.  Even though I often throughout the day go into an area that has better reception, and even in my office I get occasional data connections throughout the day.  She sees the message go out, but the "delivered" message doesn't always come up.  But since it went out it never offers a "retry" option, fugiring it would eventually get through, but only via pony apparently.  A few months ago she sent a couple messages that got marked as "delivered" on her end that I never saw at all.
We have "send as SMS" off because we cancelled our texting plans because they're just silly in this day and age.  We've switched to Facebook Messenger (bleargh) until I think the problem is better.  Has anyone else seen this?  I can't be the only one, but I guess I didn't put the magic words into the search engine.
If I have a good network connection, it works fine, always, by the way.

Its googles DNS and it helps send messages faster. It helped me send them because they wouldnt send. it wont mess anything up.

  • IMessage is not delivering messages to one person

My girlfriend recently got an iPhone and we've been using imessage with our Iphone 4S's. It's been working completely fine until the 5.1 update occured. When I send an imessage, it doesn't say delivered and she never recieves them. With all my other contacts, my imessages send instantly. Can anyone be of help with this issue? I've tried restarting my phone and every possible thing I could think of.

Yikes. Turns out it was her ipad causing the issue. Turning iMessage on/off there was all we needed. Yay!

  • Not delivered message when trying to send a message

I know the phone number is correct...Just won't deliver...using the "message" icon

Try sending it as a regular text message... turn off iMessage.
