IMessage prevents msg from sending as a '1' is in front of the mobile

I am unable to send a message in iMessage because a '1' precedes the contacts mobile number in iMessage on my iPhone 4s.  The '1' is not listed in 'my cotacts' mobile number.  How can I eliminate the '1' in iMessage to allow the message to be sent,
Thank-you

I may have figured out the problem.  I went to the person and found out it was their land line and not their mobile

  • My iPhone 4S is preventing me from sending text messages and making or recieving phone calls, any suggestions on how to rid of this problem?

My iPhone 4S will not recieve calls or text messages. It also prevents me from sending calls or text messages. I have had my SIM card double checked for verification on the phone listed and had several visits to my Bell provider. Any tips or suggestions?

The iphone is designed to lock the screen when it is next to your face.
If it is not locking when it is against your ear, then try basic troubleshooting: Restart, reset, restore
Unless you have a case on it. If you have a case, then remove the case and see if that solves it.  Otherwise, try basic troubleshooting.
If all fails then make an appointment at the local genius bar or call Apple support to arrange from a replacement.

  • School iPad - Prevent student from sending PDF in iBooks

I am desperate to disable the option of sending PDF files from inside our Student's iPad device.
We badly need to prevent our cadets from sending our Aviation Charts & documents (that we developed in PDF format) to external entities.
If only there is an option in the restriction menu to disable such option. The thing is every student has their school gmail account in their iPad.
These security issue really poses a big threat to our iPad implementation.
Hoping for such feature to be available in the future specially for companies and school like us.

if this is a feature you would like to see implemented then you need to let Apple know as these are user-to-user forums that Apple does not monitor. http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Prevent users from sending emails to wrong users

    Hi
I was looking for a possible way of stopping users from sending emails to the wrong person.
Wonder if this can be achived by group policy or creating rules and alert.
What im actually looking for is when the user is about to send out the email they get a pop up message saying you about to send email to such person would you like to send now?
hoping there is some sort of a solution for these problem :)
    cheers

    Yes, some more details please.
The closest thing I can think of is (in Exchange 2010 - no available in 2003 or 2007) is Mailtips:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd297974.aspx
But I'm not sure that's quite what you're looking for.
And how could any software know if the person is the right person?
It would have to read the person's mind and realize they are about to make a mistake by sending the message to X instead of Y.
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.
    Hi Le Pivert,
I can understand your opinion an outlook will have to be that smart to realize that the email is about to be sent to a wrong person.
What i was look for is something like a pop up notification when click on send it has a pop up message saying you are about to send this email click yes or no to cancel.
Something like when receiving emails outlook sends the notification.
I guess the above cant be achive through the outlook may have to be a third party software it there is any.
    Cheers

I would look at these offerings if you are looking at Outlook Add-ins
    http://www.slipstick.com/addins/auto-process/special-function-automatic-message-processing-tools/
If you thinking about server side solutions, Exchange has mailtips, hub transport rules, moderated groups etc... And of course 3rd party stuff is out there as well.

  • TS3276 why does apple deny that they have trouble with some hotel wireless connections that prevent us from sending mail?

This morning I had no trouble sending mail from ALB.  Then I did have trouble at the Marriott in Baltimore.  This is a recurrent issue.  Some hot spots work fine, some only allow me to retrieve mail, but not send any.  More than frustartiong as it denies me working ability with mail on the road!

I have noticed this too because I work a lot overseas and live out of many hotels.  This is not just a Mail issue but also with Outlook, and it has to do with your outgoing port configurations.  It's not Apple's fault it is the ISP behind the wifi and some of these ports are blocked for whatever reason.  The only thing that I do is try different mail accounts, ie Yahoo, Google, Mac, until you find one that works.  Sounds stupid but that's the only way that
I can keep communicating back to the US.

  • How to prevent iCal from sending invitations

After receiving an invite for dinner to my brother's home I used Siri to set up the "Appointment" on my iPhone 6 plus.  I then received a phone call from my brother asking why he received an email from me confirming an "Appointment" for dinner.  How do I stop the Calendar from sending these email invitations.

    Hello Vtgolfr,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the Calendar event that you created on your iPhone included your brother's email address. Before saving an event in the future, you may want to check the invitee field to see if his email is being populated by Siri when you create a calendar event.
You can find more information about Calendar invitations in the iOS 8 User Guide:

  • Prevent User From Sending Mail

We are trying to drop (silently) all mail sent by the account, [email protected] To accomplish this, we added this rule to the SEND_ACCESS section of the mappings file:
    *|[email protected]|*|* $B
This appears to work correctly when we simulate an email by "telnet-ing" to port 25. Here are the logs:
    01-Dec-2006 14:21:03.92 tcp_intranet bitbucket E 1 [email protected] rfc8
    22;[email protected] [email protected]
    01-Dec-2006 14:21:03.92 bitbucket D 1 [email protected] rfc8
    22;[email protected] [email protected]
However, the application that generates these emails is able to send. Here is the header of an email that got through:
From [email protected] Thu Nov 30 11:25:10 2006
    Return-path: <>
    Received: from mailarch (mailarch.xxxx.edu [10.3.1.98])

    joeyday@ims-ms-daemon
Any ideas what we're doing wrong? Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi,
The rule you are using is looking at the envelope from address, not the header from address.
You can see from the email and the log snippet that you supplied that the envelope from address is actually set to nothing (so bounce emails are silently dropped - which in general for notification style emails is a good thing):
    Return-path: <>
That is why your telnet test has [email protected] in the mail.log entry whereas the real email doesn't.
So as Jay noted, you are probably best to block at the IP level OR use a sieve filter (imta.filter) which looks at the header From address and discards the email as appropriate.
    Regards,
    Shane.

  • Preventing ical from sending response to organizer

I been sending some of my (outlook)work meetings to my home email to import them into iCal at home. However iCal insist on sending a response to the meeting organizer.
Is there a way to block this behaviour (sending a response)?
It causes confusion and concern as they do not know my home email address and it also inflates the number of invitees in the eyes or the organizer.
    Thanks
    PB 15   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi,
There is a way to open all invitation replies in Mail, so you can choose to send a reply or not. You will need admin rights on the machine and it will involve changing an Applescript file inside iCal's application package. Also I suppose some experience of using Script Editor would be handy.
Please make sure you know what you are doing. If you need any more explanation, post back.
    * Control-Click the iCal Application in the Finder.
    * Choose 'Show Package Contents' from the contextual menu.
    * In the new window that appears go to Contents/Resources.
    * In here find the file called 'Mail.scpt'.
    * Make a copy of this file and save it somewhere safe (in case somthing goes wrong).
    * Double click the original 'Mail.scpt' file, it should open in Script Editor.
    * In the script there are six handlers: showmailsbrs, showmailsbr, sendmailsb, sendmailsbr, sendmailsbrp and sendmailsbp. These all start with the word 'on'.
    * In the handler that starts 'on sendmailsbrp(subjectLine, messageText, myrecipient, invitationPath)' find the line: send mymail
    * Replace this with the following six lines:
-- Altered to open notifications in Mail.app without sending
-- Original line quoted out below.
    -- send mymail
set visible of mymail to true
    activate
-- End Altered to open notifications* Save the script and you're done.
Your replies to invitations should now open in Mail for you to choose if you want them sent or not.
    I hope this helps

  • Prevent SRW2008P from sending EAP Success message on connect

    Hello,
I have a SRW2008P switch which is sending a EAP Success message when a device is connected to it.
How can I disable this? EAP / 802.1x is golobaly disabled on the switch.
I need to connect a cable modem to the switch in a seperate VLAN. The cable modem is configured by the provider only to allow one client. So as soon as I connect the cable modem to the switch the switch sends out an EAP Success message to it and the cable modem locks the MAC address of the switch. The router behind the swich can there for not connect to the modem as the modem has already locked the MAC of the switch instead of locking the MAC of the router.
I have attached a picture of a wireshark capture while connecting my notebook to the switch.
    Thank you, Artem

    Jarnathan,
The are several tricks and methods to help with this problem, but they do not involve Rules.
In the Mail Preferences/Composing you can check a box beside Mark addresses not in this domain, and type in your "somebigcompany.com" domain name. In this mode any address not in that domain will be marked in red, including your From address displayed in the Compose window as you draft.
Secondly, in the same Composing preferences, your can select one address as the default for all New messages (but this will not apply to Reply or Forward.
However, instead of selecting one default New message address, you can click to turn the small black triangle downward, thus expanding your Inbox to show the Inbox of each account, and work in one account at-a-time. In this mode, all new messages will be defaulted to be from the address of that respective Inbox.

  • Is there a way to prevent users from sending empty or incomplete PDF forms?

    Hi all,
Using Acrobat Professional 8, I made a fillable form to individuals to fill in and submit to me as a pdf attachment to an e-mail or print out it and fill by hand.
Question 1. I want to make sure they don't send incomplete or empty forms back to me. Is there a way to do that?
    2. The form is 8.5x15 inches. I want it to look like one continuous page on screen but print as 2 letter size pages. However, when i go to print it, acrobat scales it down to fit in one page which makes the text too small to read.
    Please advise! Thanks.
    Karen

    On Question 2:
when you get to the Print menu in Acrobat/Reader look for scale to fit paper and uncheck if there is a reference to Full size check that.

  • How do I prevent calendar from sending email notifications for calendar events?

Right now I have my google calendar synced with iCloud.  This is great for me to add things either on my Mac, through the web on iCloud or Google Calendar, or my iphone.  The problem is that I am getting notifications through email that I do not want.  These are not google notifcations but those sent out through my MacBook Pro calendar/mail applications.  How can I stop this from happening?  I want to keep the phone notifications because that's what I need.  The emails just take more of my time up since I need to delete them.

Figured it out - in System Prefernces, under "Users & Groups", you can remove individual "Login Items"

  • Subject line "another option" prevents message from sending

I recently attempted to send a message (in Mail version 3.5) with the subject line "another option", and the message did not send, went to the outbox, and opened again. I assumed my connection was down, but then I tried again with a different subject line and it worked.
A bit of fiddling demonstrated that all of the following work: ".another option", "another optionasjkdflajdlfk", "another option askfljd", "another option" (2 spaces). In short, it seems that only this specific subject line causes the message to not send.
This is obviously not a big problem; I ended up simply using a different subject. But I am curious to find out why this is the case.

The header is being "folded" as described in RFC 2822 section 2.2.3.
The folding doesn't lose the space if unfolding is done properly.
Perhaps the recipient mail program isn't handling unfolding properly?
If so, please report the bug to the owner of that program.
If you need to work around such a buggy program, you can set the
System property "mail.mime.foldtext" to "false" to disable all folding
    in JavaMail.
