IMessage problem sending images on Wi-Fi

Hi,
A couple of weeks ago, after many years working without a glitch, I started experiencing sporadic erros when sending images on iMessage when connected to my home wifi. The problem seems to occurr with our iPhones but not with our iPads, however because the sporadic nature of the problem we just might have not experienced it yet. Nevertheless it happens so often with our iPhones and we've never seen it happen on one f our iPads.
The charaterization of the problem is I try to send an image on iMessage, the progress bar hangs very near the end for an unusually long time, and eventually I get a red exclaim sign with the word Failure next to it. If I switch to 3G (which ***** because it consumes my dataplan), it works fine. I have a DSL ISP and 2 Airport Extremes networked thru a gigabit cable and configured as a Closed (non broadcasting SSID) Roaming Network.
Corrective actions taken so far. I reset one of the iPhones back to factory settings. I've turned off the DSL Modem and both Airports, waited 30 seconds, and then turn everything back on.
Any ideas?
Thank You,
Erasmo.

I have exactly the same problem, I have been search for solution for many month already, so far Apple haven't give any solution to this problem. Still need wait for answer.

I have a Nokia 7370, and am yet to suss out how to actually send images via MMS. I have followed the book, and tried this site for specifics on my model, and I end up with the same message each time - Media settings not defined...
Can anyone help? Where am I going wrong?

    What network are you on?
You should be able to get the correct settings from the
Nokia Site and from your networks.
Try getting them again from both and see what happens - make sure the correct ones are activated.

  • When I send image attachments through Mail they are received as very small and squashed. How can I change this?

I have a problem sending image attachements (e.g., jpeg, png files etc) with the Mail utility from my MacBook Pro.  When people receive my email the attached image shows up not as an attached file that can be saved or downloaded, but as just a very small, squashed up version of the image imbedded in the email message itself.
I usually add these attachments by simply dragging and dropping the desired file into the window of the email text. Is this the wrong way to do it?
    thanks
    Jerry

Is this the wrong way to do it?
The safest way to send images is to create a compressed file and send that.
Click the image you want to send, go to File in the menu bar and select Compress... You end up with a file with a .zip at the end. Attach that to your email. Then trash the .zip file.
The person at the other end only has to double click the .zip attachment.
You can compress are single image or a folder of them.

  • After updating to ios 6.1.3 I cant send images through imessage

    Hello

That’s strange that my description in my first post is not showing up
I have noticed that after I updated my iOS on my iPhone 5 to 6.1.3 the iMessage can no longer send images to other iDevices
Sending regular text works but once an image is attached the message informs me that it has not been delivered and a red exclamation mark appears
I tried to send images from multiple networks
    LTE
    3G
    3 different WiFi networks
    All of these fail
I also reset my device from a backup and reset my network settings with no luck
I really hope that this gets fixed soon because I do use imessage to send photos to my friends that have their own iDevices

  • IPhone 5 cannot send images by iMessage OR MMS

My iPhone 5 is about to go in the garbage, and it's only a year old.
For months I've been dealing with being unable to send pictures to contacts by iMessage.  Now in the last week I cannot send by MMS either.
I also cannot send on my iPad.
I've read through numerous forum postings and let me assure you that absolutely nothing has worked.  Here is what I can remember doing so far, but to be honest I've been troubleshooting on my own for a while so I am probably forgetting things.
    Restore iPhone
    Troubleshooting on this blog: http://shudhtech.blogspot.in/2014/03/fix-for-imessage-problems-showing-my.html
    Reset network settings
    Change iCloud and AppleID password
Remove AppleID from iMessage, use only phone number
Double-check that MMS is turned on
    Double-check that numbers aren't blocked
Double-check that it isn't on the recipient end.  Considering it's all of my contacts and they can send everything to me just fine it is obviously not their fault.
Contact service provider, they say it's an issue with Apple
Clear out iPhone memory, I have almost 8GB of free space
    Update to latest iOS
Tried sending on WiFi and LTE, doesn't work on either
I'm extremely frustrated by this and cannot believe that so many people are having these issues and many people do not seem to be able to find a fix, as evidenced by how many postings there are about it.  If this is a software bug I'm flabbergasted that an update to fix it hasn't been released.

    My carrier is Rogers.
The MMS issue is not a consistent issue.  I will try to send a picture by iMessage and then when it fails I can try by text.  Then sometimes that will fail.  Additionally, I will be talking with people who are also on the Rogers network who will be able to send me pictures without any issues at the same time that I am having issues, so I do not believe this is a network issue.  I can send MMS from my backup Android phone without any problems.
I'm not as concerned about the MMS issue.  If iMessage worked I wouldn't need it to begin with so I want the iMessage issue to be resolved. iMessage predated the MMS issue by several months and given the volume of complaints about it on these forums I don't think that is a carrier issue.
MMS may be a carrier feature, however, if the device software is faulty and not sending messages properly to begin with that wouldn't necessarily make it a carrier issue.

I've resolved my problem now.  It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos.  Can't believe I missed that before.

  • Iphone won't send image on iMessage says "delivered"

I'm suddenly having this weird issue where i can't send images through imessage. It would say "delivered" on the bottom of the image but none of my friends are able to receive it. Another thing that is acting up is my imessage on my macbook. Whenever i send a message to someone, it would deliver as my email, not my number where it used to be. I resetted a whole bunch of stuff, made sure all my settings are correct including the option where it being sent to is my phone number.
Anyone has a solution for this? this just suddenly happen a couple of days ago. The imessage sync between my phone and my mac used to work perfectly fine.
Thanks and I appreciate whoever can help.

He needs to unregister iMessage on his old iPhone if he still has it.   If not, he'll have to call Apple to have them disassociate his # with iMessage.
While that's a possible root cause, the fact that he has no issues with other iPhone users suggests that it's something else at hand.
I would check the setting I mentioned, but also try the steps pdroth mentioned if that doesn't resolve it.

  • IOS7.1 problem switching between iMessage and "send as text" in group thread

Hi I got a 5c a couple days ago, and updated to 7.1 yesterday so not sure which is causing the problem.
I restored my new phone from a backup off my old iPhone 4 and all is working well except this issue.
I have a group thread of 6 friends, who all have iPhones. We have one message thread that has been going on for 18 months or so, all in iMessage. When I first got this new 5c updated with 7.1 and restored from the backup on Sunday, I was sending iMessages normally like I always have.
Today, iMessage stopped working, so I used the option to "send as text message" that comes up when an iMessage fails. But then all my messages on this group thread were going through in green, instead of blue.
Here are the fixes I've tried:
    - I followed older forum suggestions to turn off iMessage, reset network settings, and then reboot my phone. This fixed my iMessage problem within other message threads (with single or group recipients), but all my outgoing texts on this particular group thread are still going through in green. My outgoing messages in other threads are now going through in blue.
    - I actually iMessage mostly from my computer, so I tried sending an iMessage to the group thread from my Air to "jolt" the thread on the phone back into blue. The message from the computer showed up in blue when it came through on my phone, but did not "jolt" the phone back into sending iMessages. They still send in green.
    - one of my friends on the thread sent me a reply, and it came through as a text message although on her end it shows up in blue. this also did not "jolt" the phone back into sending iMessages.
    - I also tried sending a FaceTime request to one of the friends on the group thread, in case that might "jolt" the phone back into iMessage. It didn't work. Boo.
So: is there a manual, thread-specific option for turning iMessage back on? It is working just fine in all other threads, single-recipient or group. It's only this one thread, where I used "send as text message" -- and that was before I did the network settings reset -- where this is a problem.
Please don't suggest that I delete the thread! It is valuable friendship history.

iMessage will autmoatically turn on if the other person is using ios5 and you have a internet connection when these are not available the message would be sent as normal so it must be a problem with ytour network try settings > general > reset > network

  • Cant send image/video through iMessage but txt works

I have an iPhone 4S and can not send images or video to other 4S devices or iPods.
They can send to me, but not me to them.
I can initiate and recieve facetime and txt. But any images or video I get "Not Delivered".
I can seem to send to iPhone 5's, 4's and iPads.
I have tried everything I have found in blogs including a full restore.
    Same problem.
    Running latest software 6.1.3
    Any thoughts?
