IMessage show one of my contact old number

I am using a MacBook Pro and when i click on a contact it show old and actual number from a contact. I tried to delete this person from my contact and then add but it still shows old and actual number only on iMessage.

If you can provide more details maybe someone can help....
Any error Messages? What happens when you try to message with them? Is their device turned on? Have you had contact with them other than through an iOS device?

You should contact Apple support and ask them to deregister iMessage for the old number.

Can't send iMessage to one of my contacts!

I suddenly cannot send iMessage to one of my contacts, but i 100% sure that person phone is turned on, imessage is work and did not block me. As that person can send me iMessage. And i have already tried all the steps to solve it, such as
Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.

I understand that your iMessage seems to work normally with everyone except your father. To troubleshoot the issue, I would follow these steps on both of the devices:
Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.

If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.

Do one step on both devices, then test, and if it doesn't work move to the next step and repeat. If you run through all of them on both devices, it should resolve the issue.

Cannot send iMessages to one of my contacts

I have a new iPhone 5s. iMessages work with all of my other iPhone contacts, but one. It worked with him intermittently and now has stopped completely. For a few days the only thing I could do was send him Texts (which came up in green on my screen), but he never received them. And when I 'push' the iMessages out as a text, he never get them. When I try to send this one contact an iMessage, it immediately comes up with "not delivered" with a '!' symbol. I re-try several times but it doesn't work. I have shut messages off and on several time, shut my phone off and restarted it, deleted him from my contact list and added back. Nothing seems to work. He cannot send me anything either. He has an older iPhone, without the upgrade (I think) and he says I have a green dot, not a blue one. I don't know the old operating system, so I don't know what he has on his screen. Please, please help. It is important that I have easy messaging capability with this contact. Sorry to be so long... but the AT&T store people were not able to help me. Very frustrating!

TS2755 imessages show email instead of contacts?

my imessage works but instead of showing me my contacts it shows me the email of my friend how do i fix it?

go back into settings at the received at and log out of your email and see if that works.

Why does my iMessage show my email instead of my number?

I went on Message>Send & Receive>Signed Into my Apple ID & all that shows was my number & email. My phone number was in gray font & couldn't be clicked. The only option they let me use was my email. Why can't I use my number????? People I text can only see my email, instead of my number. HELP!!!!

Try going to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID, if your email address is select here select your phone number instead.

How do I stop my contacts old phone number from appearing when starting a new text message

I changed one of my contacts phone number, but when I start a new text message their old phone number appears along with their new number. I have checked my contact information and only their new number is in there.

Messages beta won't send to one of my contacts

Just downloaded Messages beta and it works fine except that it won't send iMessages to one of my contacts. She has an iPhone 4S and can receive iMessages from my iPhone4. Messages has no problem sending to my brother, who also has an iPhone 4S. Suggestions?

Are you sending to her Name or her Apple ID ?
On her phone > Settings > Messages > Received At > Caller ID what does she have set ?
Your Phone is probably doing Phone Number to to Phone number (without even looking at the Apple ID) where as Messages is trying an Apple ID you have for her.

Had my old number transferred, facetime/imessage show my transferred number but in settings/phone/mynumber it is still showing as the temporary number

I've had my old O2 number transferred to my new iphone 4s on 3. my facetime and imessage show my transferred number but in the phone settings its still showing as the number that came with the phone.
When i message someone it seems to be showing as either one or the other if its a text conversation its converting from one to the other then back again. Also on imessage its reverted to using my email address.
Does anyone know how to make it so that everything is showing the correct number. i have turned both facetime/imessage off, turned my phone off and on again turned facetime/imessage back on again which sorted the numbers showing on them. But in phone settings thats not done the trick.

When you go to Settings>Phone, what shows as your phone number? Is the temporary number you describe there or your regular phone number? You should be able to set it there. I don't know if there is a new place for setting anything associated with iMessage. I cannot find any reference in the iOS 5 manual regarding changing settings.

Old contact's number still showing up

Not a huge issue, more of an annoyance. Friend of mine changed is his number, and I changed it accordingly, yet his old number still shows up during iMessage. I start typing GU... and his new number pops up, but his old shows up beneath it.
I went through contacts on my macbook pro, I went onto iCloud. I can't find the old number anywhere.

I think restore as new rather than from a backup would do it but then you would lose data and settings

When a contact gets a new phone number, I delete the old and enter the new. Then when I text or call the old number shows up as a selection yet it's no longer under the contacts info.

When a contact gets a new phone number, I delete the old number and enter the new number. When I try to text or call, both the old a new numbers. One up as a selection choice, even though the old number is gone from the contact.

That's normal behavior as the old one will remain in the memory cache for a while until it's eventually overwritten. If it's particularly bothersome to you, you can restore your phone as NEW and this will empty the cache.

I had to change a contaxts mobile number so deleted the contact and replaced with new number. Somehow when I try to send a text it is the old number showing. Why is it stil showing and how can I remove. This is the same with some of the itunes which have copied over but again I cant remove. When I sysnc to computer it tells me that this is a new computer, which it is and it wants to delete everythign. I dont want that can anyone help with these few problems.

Phone number changed, but old number still shows in iTunes and in contacts within Phone app

My phone number changed, but when my phone is plugged into iTunes, it is still showing my old phone number in the iPhone information box. Also, when you are in contacts from within the Phone app. and you you pull down the list of contacts so it reveals the space above the search field, it says "My Number: (old number)" instead of "My Number: (new number)". I have synced my phone with iTunes since the change and my new number has been updated in my name record in the Contacts app. but the old number is still persisting in the aforementioned places. How do I get iTunes an the space above the search field in the contacts section of the Phone app to display my new number?
