Imessage showing up as email, not normal name/number

when i sync up my iphone with imessage on my macbook air, and i send messages out instead of my number/name showing up like it usually does when i text from my phone, it sends it out showing my email. how do i make it all just on my number?

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
From the Messages menu bar, select
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts
and choose from the menu labeled

Why is my iMessage going from its email not the mobile number any more?

MMy imessage you to be sent from my mobile number on both my ipad and my iPhone although for some reason I'm getting losds of people texting me back asking who it is texting them as it's now being sent from my email address which is very very annoying! Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can change it back to the mobile number?
i Have gone on settings and the. Messages gone down to Imessage and it says (start a new convocation from) and my mobile number is there greyed out but still tick and none of my email address are ticked so I'm very confused to why it's doing this.

Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.
Apple ID security issues -
Call Apple Care and ask for the Account Security Team. They can assist you with your issue of recovering the old Apple ID.

Why does my e-mail address and not my name/number appear on recipients phones when I text them?

When I send text messages recipients are seeing my e-mail address and not my name/number. Is there something I need to change in "Settings" to identify my number as me (by name) and not to see me as my e-mail address? Heeeeeeeeelllllllppppppppp.............

though every time it use the email it's because it's not sendt as a sms but over the internet

Where is the Start new conversations from??? When I go to Send & Receive, there is no where to add or set to receive at my phone number. There is only a setting to Add Another Email and my Apple Id is already there. No place or way to add a phone number to receive at. I also have a lasting Waiting for activation... under iMessage ON but no place for my phone number although it shows up as My number under Phone.

How can I customise Thunderbird message columns to show sender raw address (not display name) and the "Received for" email address that was used to reach me?

I find it increasingly important to be able to see a sender's actual email address rather than just display name, as they usually don't show a company name - which a domain always would. Is there a way to customise settings/write a script/tweak files to add raw email & domain name columns? When dealing with a number of people at the same company it is hard to order or glance through a list of emails to find them. I also know 2 people with the same name at different companies and it is impossible to distinguish!
Secondly, as a related column addition, since a number of email aliases reach me it would be useful to have a column to show the "Received..for" part of the message source which reveals the actual email used in the To/CC/BCC which led to me. Again can this be tweaked or scripted?
I have programming experience but have not made add-ons and would be open to a suggestion which involves creating a custom add-on if adding columns with custom values is possible that way.

Extended message headers can be searched from Edit/Find/Search Messages, or the folder context menu, by adding custom headers to the search criteria. So, you might be able to create a search on specific properties of a message.
The method of adding custom headers to searches is the same as the one described here for filters:

HT3529 After trying every suggestion on apple support and then finally calling them and being hung up on by a very rude apple operator, Issue is that when sending iMessage my info comes up as apple if email not contact name...I've tried everything online

When sending iMessage from my iPhone 4s it now appears as my apple id not my contact name...I have read and tried every online help tip I could find...I called apple support only to have very very rude apple operator hang up on me while saying is ridiculous to pay to speak to someone to tell me how to solve problem....I am so frustrated please help..when going into caller id my phone number appears but is grayed and only my email is shown....I'm not given option to have my number...in face time settings above my grayed out number says error but no option to change...I've verified my email I've done everything I've read to do please help...and fire your rude operator...thanks

Under Settings > Messages > Receive At, I see my phone number grayed out. This is because the phone number cannot be removed. However, one screen beyond that (tap on Caller ID), then it is not grayed out and I can toggle the email or phone number. Are you sure you are on the Caller ID screen and not the Receive At screen?

IMessage sending messages from email not phone number/not working

I have an iPhone 5s and my sister has an iPhone 5c. She told me that my phone was sending her imessages from my email. When I go to change it to my phone number only it has it as a grayed out (will not let me select it). I turned iMessages off and then turned it back on and it still wouldn't so I tried it one more time now I get a "waiting for activation..." under my iMessage switched on. I tried turning it off, hard resetting and then turning it back on but when I go to sign in it says "server couldnt not be reached. try again" and it says that each time i try to sign in.
I guess my questions are: 1) do the imessage servers go down? 2) how do i 'activate" my imessages so it doesnt say 'waiting for activation"? 3) how do i make my imessages come from my phone number and not my email?

          Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
          Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
          Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

Finder shows only dates and not Event Names???

When browsing through Finder to copy some photos for other applications, some of my event names show up as names and some show up as the dates the photos were taken... but all the events have been named and show as such in iPhoto '09 Why is that?

The power of iPhoto is its relational database - but that does mean you have to use it - it is not a file based system and takes a different way of thinking -- and note that even if you cheat and go directly into the database successfully the structure probably will change in the future that has occurred in the last several versions - so it pays to use the correct methods - which IMHO Terence has documented much better than Apple has

TS3672 IMsg showing only numbers and not contact names, what happend?

Prior to this week all my text msgs were showing the name of the person texting me, now the names are gone and only the numbers show up, even on the old msgs, what happened to my phone, is this some sort of an update or did i press something my mistake, how do i fix this.

Contact can only send iMessage to my email, not my phone number

Since Apple released iMessage my friend and I have been iMessaging. As of yesterday, I can still send my friend iMessages as usual, but she can only send iMessages to my email (I have "Receive at" set to my phone number and email, Caller ID set to my phone number). If she tries to send an iMessage to my phone number, as she did before, it will only send as a Text. All of my other iPhone contacts can still send iMessages to my phone number. We've each tried rebooting and switching iMessage on and off (we both have iPhone 4, IOS 5.1.1) without any luck. I realise that iMessage is still technically working with her sending to my email, but we just don't understand why sending to my phone number has suddenly stopped working. Grateful for any suggestions.

It sounds like something has changed on her end...
Is she sure she has iMessage turned On? Because that scenario usually occurs when you get an email text from a regular cell phone, i.e. iMessage may be Off on their end.

Why does the firefox browser show information that is not normal

when i first use ff in the am, all appears okay; however in the early afternoon the screen doesn't show the information in the same format, it appears strange with out info as it is suppose to be. It is a little hard to explain exactly what is happening but it happens every day. Even if I close & reopen the browser.
